"writing": "[center] ~Note: this takes place in it's own universe completely separate from McInTots or Into A Tizzy~\n\nIsabelle Lisa McIntosh and Taylor Ryan McIntosh\n\nIn\n\nUnexpecttraction, Vol. 6\n\nChapter 10\n\nChampagne, Champooey, Champagina\n\nby the kzx[/center]\n\n\n The corridors of the passenger section aboard the Cruz Vacia were more cramped than Izzy expected, though it was tough to check everything out while staying well within the hoodie she wore. Her bangs stuck out, she was sure, though it didn’t really seem to matter as she nudged the hood a bit because curiosity was biting at her. Clusters of beings standing around or resting on benches, all looking bored or s… sleeping? Did aliens like these sleep?\n Izzy was behind Becky, following her knowledgeable raccoon friend through the hallways, cutting through doors that were blank panels until they either slid away or just blinked away, and into other hallways. Where was Selon? Was she escorting them to somewhere safe? But what about the hoodies? The very beautiful captain of a ship walking along with hooded figures would be suspicious—just the thing Becky wanted to avoid, so no, Selon was probably keeping her peoples’ eyes on them, though. Becky was very important this ‘this world.’\n As they passed windows, Izzy couldn’t stop herself from looking out and admiring the beauty of open space. She still couldn’t wrap her mind around it. They were in space. [i]space![/i] Rex lived in space! Becky was technically from another planet! So was her mom! And Melissa! Izzy caught a glimpse of a figure that resembled Melissa on a poster, some kind of old sign.\n “Wait here…” Becky said, just over her shoulder. Izzy looked to see they had stopped outside one of the door panels. Becky turned around, looking at Izzy and, by her darting eyes, she knew Becky was looking at Tay and Jules behind her. The eyes landed on Izzy again. “If anyone tries to talk to you…” then her eyes went past the dingo girl. “Jules, flirt with them.”\n “Wow, really?” Jules said.\n “Yeah, just distract them ‘til I get back.” Becky said, turning to the door.\n “What if I get space-raped?” Jules said, prompting Becky’s shoulders to drop.\n “What?!”\n “What if the alien thing I hit on takes me away and space-rapes the stuffing out of me?” Izzy could tell Becky honestly considered this event, eyes closed and breathing; maybe she was just trying to not flip out on Jules while they were trying to not stand out.\n “Don’t let them.” Becky said.\n “What?” Jules asked, sounding maybe a little surprised.\n “Don’t let them, Jules.” Becky walked to the door, it disappeared and after walking through, it reappeared. The doors in space were so weird! The three remaining cubs stood awkward in a line against the closed door, as if they were following a leader and suddenly stopped, though, well, that [i]was[/i] what kinda happened.\n “…my balls itch…” Tay could be heard whispering. Jules chuckled.\n “want me to scratch ‘em for ya?” she said. Izzy whipped around.\n “jules!” she hissed. Jules looked at Izzy, dropped her smile and looked sheepish.\n “oh, s-sorry. kinda came out, y’know?” Jules said through a large, toothy grin. “i don’t have to scratch your boyfriend’s balls, i guess.” \n “i would appreciate you didn’t touch him there at all.” Izzy said, feeling regretfully jealous.\n “could i touch your balls, iz?” Jules asked.\n “wh-what?! no, just—” The door disappeared and Becky came through.\n “This way, c’mon.” She said, leading them through the door into a big blue room, like the color of the ocean. There was a slight rushing noise and once the door closed, it was all Izzy could hear. Becky removed her hood and sat on a bench that rounded the interior of the room. “We’re okay now.”\n “Oh, drat…” Jules started, “I was hoping to almost get space-kidnapped and space-raped by a space-thing.”\n “What is this room? It’s nice in here.” Izzy said, taking in the sight with her hood off, smelling what smelled like pool floaties mixed with a little bit of vinegar. It was weird, but a little soothing, at least in knowing they were supposedly safe in the room.\n “Selon says it’s kinda a VIP room.” Becky explained. Jules was already up on the seat on her knees, looking out the wide window.\n “Cool! They serve champagne here?” she asked.\n “No… why would they serve champagne here?” Becky said.\n “Oh, come on, what kind of VIP room doesn’t offer champagne?”\n “Well, it wouldn’t be champagne; it would be something like, uh…”\n “Well, champagne, champooey, champagina, I dunno, whatever it is.” Jules managed a chuckle from Tay just before there was a knock on the door. A small window of a display popped up on the door, presumably offering a view of the outside; it was Selon.\n “Oh, it’s Selon.” Becky said. The door popped away and the tall, beautiful captain slid within, door reappearing.\n “I hope the accommodations are adequate, Sen Yubi.” She said.\n “Yes, thank you, Selon. We’ll be in and out for the duration of the trip. My friends, here, have never been to anywhere outside our home planet and wish to explore your ship.” Becky said. Selon smiled and bowed to Becky.\n “Yes, you and your friends shall be under the protection of the Cruz Vacia guard, so be carefree if you wish.” Despite what Selon said, Izzy felt Becky never took chances to be ‘carefree.’\n “Thank you, Selon.” The two bowed and Selon left the room.\n “So,” Tay said, bouncing on one of the seats, which seemed to react to his force against it each time, “when do we see some aliens?”\n “Tay, we just went through an entire corridor and pathway to get here that was full of aliens; weren’t you paying attention?” Becky said. Tay shrugged.\n “Meh, they don’t look like aliens.”\n “Ms Selon is an alien!” Izzy piped up. Tay’s ears perked as he looked at his sister.\n “Ms who?”\n “Selon, the captain of this ship; the one who greeted us, gave us these hoodies?” Becky said, starting to get familiarly irritated. Tay looked blank. “She was JUST HERE!” Tay touched his mouth.\n “…the tall fox lady?” he said.\n “Yes! She’s an alien! How many foxes have you seen with two sets of ears?!” Becky calmed herself and Izzy giggled. She knew from experience it was better to just let Tay things go.\n “I’m curious, too,” Izzy said, “when [i]can[/i] we go exploring the ship? I mean, if it doesn’t put us in any danger.”\n “Well, as long as we wear our hoodies, we should be okay.” Becky said, then turning to Tay, “Tay…” The dingo boy looked like he was in trouble already.\n “Y-yeah?”\n “C’mere…” Becky greeted the approaching Tay with one open arm around his shoulder. Tay, fearing the girl, bent down a bit to be on her level. Izzy wondered if he was being pulled down. “If any… rogue groups or radical crazies or plain terrorists become aware that I am on this ship, things could get… ugly…” Tay’s eyes widened even more.\n “’Ugly?’” he muttered.\n “Yeah, like… instead of going to Ireos and getting you two bonded, we have to deal with a group of baddies that I’ll have to dispatch someway and [i]hope[/i] they have no way of actually harming or stopping me, and that’s if no others I’d have to deal with happen to be around when this fighting takes place, got it?” Tay swallowed and shook.\n “J…. Just whip your titties out…” Tay stuttered. Becky’s eyes closed and her grip on Tay loosened. Izzy, sensing an imminent issue, grabbed Becky’s shoulder.\n “He gets it; he’s just being dumb, you know…” she said. Becky looked back at Izzy and smiled.\n “Thanks for that.” Becky said.\n The group gathered themselves for more walking and exited the room. Just mere feet out of the VIP room, the group started seeing panels on the walls every few hundred feet or so that looked like ATMs. Izzy wanted to ask Becky what they were, but figured everyone but them already knew what they were, so asking would seem very suspicious.\n “Becky…” Tay said.\n “Huh?” Becky responded.\n “Becky!” Tay shouted. [i]yeah, tay, shout… good idea…[/i]\n “What?!” I said ‘huh?’!” the raccoon girl hissed.\n “Let’s get some cash and get some food.” The boy whined. Becky probably rolled her eyes, Izzy surmised, but continued down the hall.\n “Trust me, Tay; we don’t need cash. Cash isn’t really a thing here, but we’re good, trust me.” Becky’s voice returned to normal and reassuring, but Izzy wasn’t sure Tay would take such an answer. As the group rounded the corner of one narrow hallway into a larger open room that seemed to connect the two hallways of the ship’s sides, Tay piped up again.\n “Beckeee…” he moaned, tugging at the raccoon’s hoodie. Becky nudged back at him.\n “What? What?”\n “Those—” Tay said, pointing at machines with slots and displays on the walls, “—let’s get some money for food.”\n “Tay, we don’t—” Becky silenced herself as a large blue cylindrical alien that appeared purple more as it got further from the group, “—we don’t eat that. It’s not for us.” Tay looked annoyed.\n “What are you, stupid?” he said, poking at Becky, “You don’t [i]eat[/i] cash! You [i]spend[/i] it, girl!” Becky stopped, turned to Tay, who stumbled back a little.\n “Those aren’t ATMs, moron! They’re light dispensers for the species that eat light. Stop being dumb and assuming things!” Becky’s words actually seemed to have a positive effect on Tay. He began looking concerned at everything around him, but not in a scared way; he seemed contemplative. It was almost… attractive to Izzy, not that there was much about Tay that Izzy [i]didn’t[/i] find attractive.\n “wow, some aliens actually [i]eat[/i] light?” he whispered.\n “yeah,” Becky started, looking just as surprised at Tay, “turns out photons are quite delicious, to those that can phase electromagnetism into flavors. they aren’t entirely on our plane of—” \n “i wanna try some.” Tay said, plain and staring at a machine. Becky’s (and possibly Izzy’s) ears perked.\n “try some… what? light? tay, you aren’t built to consume light. It would be paying money for differently colored flashes of light along the [i]entire[/i] electromagnetic spectrum, some of which is lethal to—”\n “nerd crap is nerd crap!” Tay almost voiced, pointing toward a machine that was currently occupied by another cylinder alien, but this one was orange and seemed to glow.\n “radiation, ever hear of it?! it can kill you, idiot!” Becky hissed. Tay, already within Becky’s clutches, sniffed in anger. “c’mon, we’ll eat on ireos and trust me, it’ll be worth it.”\n “delicious?” Tay asked. Becky smiled, let go of Tay, and the group walked on.\n “delicious.” She said. “besides, it’s best to avoid eateries on ships like these as the way some species eat can be dangerous for earthlings. it can sometimes be a violent affair or a noxious chemical digestion, and there’s [i]always[/i] a fight breaking out.”\n “you could prolly take ‘em, eh?” Jules spoke up. Becky smiled to herself.\n “yeah, but we’re hiding, remember?” she said. \n The next hallway was shorter than the others, opening to a larger room. Izzy figured this was the bulky part near the front she saw in Rex’s shuttle outside. She looked through the slotted windows as they passed, catching glimpses of a bright ring that seemed to smear backwards mixing with the snowy gray all around them.\n “Whoa…” Izzy said, having stopped to look. She was soon joined by Becky and the others.\n “Ahh, yeah, that’s the inductor ring.” Becky started, “It creates a sort of bubble of localized space-time around the ship and allows it to move freely and quickly throughout the galaxy, though time still has a hold on the outside of the bubble itself in a way. It’s hard to explain, but trust me; Ireos is [i]very[/i] far from the sector of the galaxy where Earth is and this method allows travel to be only a matter of hours instead of, you know, forever.” Tay stared, slack-jawed, eyes fixed, reflecting the brightness of the ring outside.\n “…sounds… boring…” he said slowly and in monotone. Izzy giggled, grabbed his arm and hugged it, leaning her head on his shoulder. \n Continuing further into the ship’s wider portions, many doors with writing and symbols around them started to appear more often. One looked very popular and had symbols that looked like maybe… mouths? And there were odd sounds and smells coming from the door as they passed. Becky looked back at the group and pointed slightly. “That’s the eatery. You’re much better off waiting.” She said, the last part directly to Tay, who seemed pained with hunger. Izzy patted his head and he smiled.\n “So, where are we going, Becky?” Izzy asked.\n “I’m trying to take us to the front of the ship where it’s less dangerous, or, well, at least less unpredictable.” Becky said, looking around. Jules snickered.\n “What do ya wanna bet we spend the whole trip searching for whatever Becky’s looking for?” she said.\n “Jules, come on…” Izzy said.\n “No, Jules might be right…” Becky said, “I really don’t know where I’m going; just trying to keep us moving.” She chuckled nervously. “I promise, Ireos is way cooler. This ship is more of a… low grade civilian transport, like a city bus. I wanted to show off something much cooler.”\n “No, no—” Izzy said, “—this is a [i]spaceship![/i] It’s awesome!”\n “Yeah! It’s great!” Tay exploded, startling the girls, “So many freaky aliens!” Izzy and Becky turned to angry stares at the boy, occasionally looking around to make sure no one heard him. Jules just laughed.\n “Wow, Tay might die in space!”\n “Jules, shut up.” Becky said, turning to Tay, “You, too, Tay.” Jules threw up a fake salute.\n “Yes, Sir.” She said, tongue out. Becky rolled her eyes and walked on.\n The group continued into a larger room that resembled a fancy hotel lobby, with high ceilings, plenty of comfy seating, beautiful things hanging from the ceilings that may have been for the living sustainability of some species or was just for looks. There were fancier looking passengers there, too. In fact, a lot of the ‘low grade, civilian’ looking aliens were replaced with groups of beings that Selon would fit in with. In fact, Izzy’s eyes caught the captain laughing with a group of similar looking tall and slender fox aliens in the distance, sometimes other groups roaring with laughter that Izzy found interesting to be so in common with laughter on Earth. Ms Selon seemed to be more than simply the captain of the Cruz Vacia; she was a host. Becky’s paw appeared in Izzy’s field of vision, pointing at a door leading from the main area.\n “See that door, Jules?” she said.\n “Yup.” The roo girl said.\n “That’s a proper VIP room, and they probably serve champagne, or whatever, there.” The group chuckled.\n “Well…” Jules started, sliding up to Becky, shoulders touching, “let’s go get friendly.” Becky nearly choked.\n “Again, we’re not having some sort of group sex romp—”\n “Nah, nah, nah,” Jules said, waving her arms, “No, the two lovebirds can go about their business, maybe return to the blue-ish VIP room, bang, whatever, while you and I—” she threw her arm around Becky, motioned a pointing finger between them, from one chest to the other, “—get to know each other better.” Becky went redder than most time when angry, throwing the kangaroo’s arm off her, shoulders up and tightened, distancing herself from Jules, who looked at the raccoon with a subtle compassionate expression that seemed to say ‘I’ll always get under your fur, girl.’ The kids laughed at the weirdness, soothing Becky from her reddened shell.\n “Well… there’s an area of this ship I [i]know[/i] we’ll all like.” Becky said, confidently leading the group to a door that led to a red hallway with lights along the floor and open doors along the way. Becky went into one door and as Izzy passed through, she was amazed to find, aside from a small seating area, the warping and swishing universe of stars around them. This was easily the best view on the ship, glancing at the universe as it moved across them, the universe behind them melting away and the universe before them as they entered it. It was like the bright ring folded the universe itself around it and the ship was gliding along. \n Izzy held onto Tay’s arm, head leaning on his shoulder. She watched the stars and blackness fold around them as well as Becky, leaning against a railing and Jules, next to her, slid up and very close, touching even, but Becky didn’t move away. Izzy smiled, feeling a surge of warm familiarity with the fluid machinations within their group, the kids she grew up with for most of her life. Her mind dragged her back a little about the question over her head.\n [i]the universe meaning for twins to be together?[/i]\n [i]what hope was there?[/i]\n Izzy closed her eyes and shook the thought away, opening them to see Becky, Jules and the edge of Tay’s shoulder among a field of stars. She smiled again, and even when the announcement that planet Ireos was what Becky translated to being 25 minutes away, nothing seemed too far away to the little dingo girl.",

“This way, c’mon.” She said, leading them through the door into a big blue room, like the color of the ocean. There was a slight rushing noise and once the door closed, it was all Izzy could hear. Becky removed her hood and sat on a bench that rounded the interior of the room. “We’re okay now.”
“Oh, drat…” Jules started, “I was hoping to almost get space-kidnapped and space-raped by a space-thing.”
“What is this room? It’s nice in here.” Izzy said, taking in the sight with her hood off, smelling what smelled like pool floaties mixed with a little bit of vinegar. It was weird, but a little soothing, at least in knowing they were supposedly safe in the room.
“Selon says it’s kinda a VIP room.” Becky explained. Jules was already up on the seat on her knees, looking out the wide window.
“Cool! They serve champagne here?” she asked.
“No… why would they serve champagne here?” Becky said.
“Oh, come on, what kind of VIP room doesn’t offer champagne?”
“Well, it wouldn’t be champagne; it would be something like, uh…”
“Well, champagne, champooey, champagina, I dunno, whatever it is.” Jules managed a chuckle from Tay just before there was a knock on the door. A small window of a display popped up on the door, presumably offering a view of the outside; it was Selon.
“Oh, it’s Selon.” Becky said. The door popped away and the tall, beautiful captain slid within, door reappearing.
“I hope the accommodations are adequate, Sen Yubi.” She said.
“Yes, thank you, Selon. We’ll be in and out for the duration of the trip. My friends, here, have never been to anywhere outside our home planet and wish to explore your ship.” Becky said. Selon smiled and bowed to Becky.
“Yes, you and your friends shall be under the protection of the Cruz Vacia guard, so be carefree if you wish.” Despite what Selon said, Izzy felt Becky never took chances to be ‘carefree.’
“Thank you, Selon.” The two bowed and Selon left the room.
“So,” Tay said, bouncing on one of the seats, which seemed to react to his force against it each time, “when do we see some aliens?”
“Tay, we just went through an entire corridor and pathway to get here that was full of aliens; weren’t you paying attention?” Becky said. Tay shrugged.
“Meh, they don’t look like aliens.”
“Ms Selon is an alien!” Izzy piped up. Tay’s ears perked as he looked at his sister.
“Ms who?”
“Selon, the captain of this ship; the one who greeted us, gave us these hoodies?” Becky said, starting to get familiarly irritated. Tay looked blank. “She was JUST HERE!” Tay touched his mouth.
“…the tall fox lady?” he said.
“Yes! She’s an alien! How many foxes have you seen with two sets of ears?!” Becky calmed herself and Izzy giggled. She knew from experience it was better to just let Tay things go.
“I’m curious, too,” Izzy said, “when can we go exploring the ship? I mean, if it doesn’t put us in any danger.”
“Well, as long as we wear our hoodies, we should be okay.” Becky said, then turning to Tay, “Tay…” The dingo boy looked like he was in trouble already.
“Y-yeah?”
“C’mere…” Becky greeted the approaching Tay with one open arm around his shoulder. Tay, fearing the girl, bent down a bit to be on her level. Izzy wondered if he was being pulled down. “If any… rogue groups or radical crazies or plain terrorists become aware that I am on this ship, things could get… ugly…” Tay’s eyes widened even more.
“’Ugly?’” he muttered.
“Yeah, like… instead of going to Ireos and getting you two bonded, we have to deal with a group of baddies that I’ll have to dispatch someway and hope they have no way of actually harming or stopping me, and that’s if no others I’d have to deal with happen to be around when this fighting takes place, got it?” Tay swallowed and shook.
“J…. Just whip your titties out…” Tay stuttered. Becky’s eyes closed and her grip on Tay loosened. Izzy, sensing an imminent issue, grabbed Becky’s shoulder.
“He gets it; he’s just being dumb, you know…” she said. Becky looked back at Izzy and smiled.
“Thanks for that.” Becky said.
The group gathered themselves for more walking and exited the room. Just mere feet out of the VIP room, the group started seeing panels on the walls every few hundred feet or so that looked like ATMs. Izzy wanted to ask Becky what they were, but figured everyone but them already knew what they were, so asking would seem very suspicious.
“Becky…” Tay said.
“Huh?” Becky responded.
“Becky!” Tay shouted. yeah, tay, shout… good idea…
“What?!” I said ‘huh?’!” the raccoon girl hissed.
“Let’s get some cash and get some food.” The boy whined. Becky probably rolled her eyes, Izzy surmised, but continued down the hall.
“Trust me, Tay; we don’t need cash. Cash isn’t really a thing here, but we’re good, trust me.” Becky’s voice returned to normal and reassuring, but Izzy wasn’t sure Tay would take such an answer. As the group rounded the corner of one narrow hallway into a larger open room that seemed to connect the two hallways of the ship’s sides, Tay piped up again.
“Beckeee…” he moaned, tugging at the raccoon’s hoodie. Becky nudged back at him.
“What? What?”
“Those—” Tay said, pointing at machines with slots and displays on the walls, “—let’s get some money for food.”
“Tay, we don’t—” Becky silenced herself as a large blue cylindrical alien that appeared purple more as it got further from the group, “—we don’t eat that. It’s not for us.” Tay looked annoyed.
“What are you, stupid?” he said, poking at Becky, “You don’t eat cash! You spend it, girl!” Becky stopped, turned to Tay, who stumbled back a little.
“Those aren’t ATMs, moron! They’re light dispensers for the species that eat light. Stop being dumb and assuming things!” Becky’s words actually seemed to have a positive effect on Tay. He began looking concerned at everything around him, but not in a scared way; he seemed contemplative. It was almost… attractive to Izzy, not that there was much about Tay that Izzy didn’t find attractive.
“wow, some aliens actually eat light?” he whispered.
“yeah,” Becky started, looking just as surprised at Tay, “turns out photons are quite delicious, to those that can phase electromagnetism into flavors. they aren’t entirely on our plane of—”
“i wanna try some.” Tay said, plain and staring at a machine. Becky’s (and possibly Izzy’s) ears perked.
“try some… what? light? tay, you aren’t built to consume light. It would be paying money for differently colored flashes of light along the entire electromagnetic spectrum, some of which is lethal to—”
“nerd crap is nerd crap!” Tay almost voiced, pointing toward a machine that was currently occupied by another cylinder alien, but this one was orange and seemed to glow.
“radiation, ever hear of it?! it can kill you, idiot!” Becky hissed. Tay, already within Becky’s clutches, sniffed in anger. “c’mon, we’ll eat on ireos and trust me, it’ll be worth it.”
“delicious?” Tay asked. Becky smiled, let go of Tay, and the group walked on.
“delicious.” She said. “besides, it’s best to avoid eateries on ships like these as the way some species eat can be dangerous for earthlings. it can sometimes be a violent affair or a noxious chemical digestion, and there’s always a fight breaking out.”
“you could prolly take ‘em, eh?” Jules spoke up. Becky smiled to herself.
“yeah, but we’re hiding, remember?” she said.
The next hallway was shorter than the others, opening to a larger room. Izzy figured this was the bulky part near the front she saw in Rex’s shuttle outside. She looked through the slotted windows as they passed, catching glimpses of a bright ring that seemed to smear backwards mixing with the snowy gray all around them.
“Whoa…” Izzy said, having stopped to look. She was soon joined by Becky and the others.
“Ahh, yeah, that’s the inductor ring.” Becky started, “It creates a sort of bubble of localized space-time around the ship and allows it to move freely and quickly throughout the galaxy, though time still has a hold on the outside of the bubble itself in a way. It’s hard to explain, but trust me; Ireos is very far from the sector of the galaxy where Earth is and this method allows travel to be only a matter of hours instead of, you know, forever.” Tay stared, slack-jawed, eyes fixed, reflecting the brightness of the ring outside.
“…sounds… boring…” he said slowly and in monotone. Izzy giggled, grabbed his arm and hugged it, leaning her head on his shoulder.
Continuing further into the ship’s wider portions, many doors with writing and symbols around them started to appear more often. One looked very popular and had symbols that looked like maybe… mouths? And there were odd sounds and smells coming from the door as they passed. Becky looked back at the group and pointed slightly. “That’s the eatery. You’re much better off waiting.” She said, the last part directly to Tay, who seemed pained with hunger. Izzy patted his head and he smiled.
“So, where are we going, Becky?” Izzy asked.
“I’m trying to take us to the front of the ship where it’s less dangerous, or, well, at least less unpredictable.” Becky said, looking around. Jules snickered.
“What do ya wanna bet we spend the whole trip searching for whatever Becky’s looking for?” she said.
“Jules, come on…” Izzy said.
“No, Jules might be right…” Becky said, “I really don’t know where I’m going; just trying to keep us moving.” She chuckled nervously. “I promise, Ireos is way cooler. This ship is more of a… low grade civilian transport, like a city bus. I wanted to show off something much cooler.”
“No, no—” Izzy said, “—this is a spaceship! It’s awesome!”
“Yeah! It’s great!” Tay exploded, startling the girls, “So many freaky aliens!” Izzy and Becky turned to angry stares at the boy, occasionally looking around to make sure no one heard him. Jules just laughed.
“Wow, Tay might die in space!”
“Jules, shut up.” Becky said, turning to Tay, “You, too, Tay.” Jules threw up a fake salute.
“Yes, Sir.” She said, tongue out. Becky rolled her eyes and walked on.
The group continued into a larger room that resembled a fancy hotel lobby, with high ceilings, plenty of comfy seating, beautiful things hanging from the ceilings that may have been for the living sustainability of some species or was just for looks. There were fancier looking passengers there, too. In fact, a lot of the ‘low grade, civilian’ looking aliens were replaced with groups of beings that Selon would fit in with. In fact, Izzy’s eyes caught the captain laughing with a group of similar looking tall and slender fox aliens in the distance, sometimes other groups roaring with laughter that Izzy found interesting to be so in common with laughter on Earth. Ms Selon seemed to be more than simply the captain of the Cruz Vacia; she was a host. Becky’s paw appeared in Izzy’s field of vision, pointing at a door leading from the main area.
“See that door, Jules?” she said.
“Yup.” The roo girl said.
“That’s a proper VIP room, and they probably serve champagne, or whatever, there.” The group chuckled.
“Well…” Jules started, sliding up to Becky, shoulders touching, “let’s go get friendly.” Becky nearly choked.
“Again, we’re not having some sort of group sex romp—”
“Nah, nah, nah,” Jules said, waving her arms, “No, the two lovebirds can go about their business, maybe return to the blue-ish VIP room, bang, whatever, while you and I—” she threw her arm around Becky, motioned a pointing finger between them, from one chest to the other, “—get to know each other better.” Becky went redder than most time when angry, throwing the kangaroo’s arm off her, shoulders up and tightened, distancing herself from Jules, who looked at the raccoon with a subtle compassionate expression that seemed to say ‘I’ll always get under your fur, girl.’ The kids laughed at the weirdness, soothing Becky from her reddened shell.
“Well… there’s an area of this ship I know we’ll all like.” Becky said, confidently leading the group to a door that led to a red hallway with lights along the floor and open doors along the way. Becky went into one door and as Izzy passed through, she was amazed to find, aside from a small seating area, the warping and swishing universe of stars around them. This was easily the best view on the ship, glancing at the universe as it moved across them, the universe behind them melting away and the universe before them as they entered it. It was like the bright ring folded the universe itself around it and the ship was gliding along.
Izzy held onto Tay’s arm, head leaning on his shoulder. She watched the stars and blackness fold around them as well as Becky, leaning against a railing and Jules, next to her, slid up and very close, touching even, but Becky didn’t move away. Izzy smiled, feeling a surge of warm familiarity with the fluid machinations within their group, the kids she grew up with for most of her life. Her mind dragged her back a little about the question over her head.

Izzy closed her eyes and shook the thought away, opening them to see Becky, Jules and the edge of Tay’s shoulder among a field of stars. She smiled again, and even when the announcement that planet Ireos was what Becky translated to being 25 minutes away, nothing seemed too far away to the little dingo girl.",
