Tay turned, angry and sad.\n \"But... but we're goin' to another planet!\" He whined.\n \"Yeah,\" Izzy said, smiling and holding her brother's shoulder, \"but we'll be back. We're not mov-\"\n Tay turned to face Izzy. \"I know we're not moving there, Izzy.\" Izzy looked at him with big eyes. Quietly, the boy sat on his sister's bed, putting his shoes on. Izzy grabbed her suitcase.\n \"Okay... let's go.\" She said. Tay stood up, coughed and grabbed his. As Izzy approached the door, Tay kept looking himself over. \"what's wrong, tay?\"\n \"should... should we bring our hoodies?\"\n \"why would we bring our hoodies?\"\n \"it's cold in space.\"\n \"we're not gonna be in space; we're going to another planet.\"\n \"yeah, but it's cold here; what if it's cold there?\" Izzy looked around to gaze at her hoodie hanging in the corner of her room; Tay had a very good point. They should pack for any weather. Izzy knew she had enough sense to figure that if their current place on Earth was still experiencing winter, it didn’t mean it would be winter wherever on planet Ireos they'd be going.\n \"it'll be fine, tay. let's go.\" She whispered. The twins made their way silently down to the backyard. They opened the backdoor slowly and found Becky already waiting on them.\n \"hey.\" She said under her breath.\n \"hey, becky.\" Izzy said. The two friends hugged and Tay yawned.\n \"hey, becky, yahhhhhhhh...\" he moaned quietly...\n \"you guys ready?\" Becky asked. Izzy looked at Tay, who was sleepy still, then back to Becky, smiling big and holding her suitcase with both paws. \"nervous, iz?\"\n \"of course; it's not only a big deal going to another planet, it's a big deal to our relationship.\" She said, shaky voice.\n \"it should be fine, i believe in you guys.\" Becky said, turning to the fence that had separated their two yards all these years, crawling through the loose board and into Becky's yard. They entered Becky's house and closed the door. \"Cool, now we don't have to whisper.\"\n \"Where's your mom?\" Izzy asked, looking around. \n \"She's out of town this weekend.\" Becky said, leading the twins to the kitchen counter where three orange and white devices resembling deodorant cases wrapped in thick belts sat.\n \"Ooh, are these popsicles?\" Tay said, brightening up. Becky rounded the counter and looked at the items.\n \"No, they're-\"\n \"Oh, orangesicles! Of course.\" Tay said. Becky looked up at him.\n \"No, Tay, these are flux aggregators.\" Becky explained. \"We use these to initiate the flux aperture so we can fit three days into five hours, remember?\" Tay yawned and scratched his head.\n \"Hey, whatever...\" he said.\n \"How heavy are they?\" Izzy asked, looking closer.\n \"Oh, they're very light; no sense carrying something heavy, right?\" Becky chuckled, grabbing one. \"See, they clip like this.\" Becky snapped hers to a belt loop on her pants. Izzy grabbed one and delighted in it's weight; it was like nothing! She lifted her shirt and clipped it to a belt loop. Tay made an annoyed, early morning noise.\n \"Now, if I wanted a dorky aggravating thing on me, I woulda just-\"\n \"Aggregator, Tay, it's not aggravating.\" Becky said.\n \"Yeah,\" Izzy started, \"it's actually very light.\" No more words were said as Tay grabbed his device and clipped it easily to his waist.\n \"Ahh... yeah, I see.\" He said.\n \"Now,\" Becky said, leading the twins to her front door, \"we're going outside to meet Rex and he'll take us to his apartment.\"\n \"His apartment?\" Izzy asked, \"We've... wow, we've never been to Rex's place before; actually, he... always tends to...\"\n \"Deflect the conversation concerning where he lives, yeah.\" Becky said, opening the door.\n \"Rex's apartment? Why're we...\" Tay started, his thought not making it past the door frame, it seemed. Both girls looked at each other and shrugged. Izzy could see in the early morning light, a figure standing in the street outside Becky's house.\n \"Oh, does-\"\n \"we, uh, actually have to whisper out here, sorry, iz.\" Becky said, smiling awkwardly. Becky stammered to answer the dingo girl’s question.\n \"no, but... well, his apartment is... it's, um...\"\n \"i have to activate my gate outside; too many loose particles get caught in things like wood and dry wall.\" A familiar whisper. Izzy recognized it right away as Rex, whose features became more apparent as they approached. Tay made a noise that sounded shocked.\n \"What?!\"\n \"shhh, tay!\" Becky hissed, nearly launching a paw over his mouth.\n \"why's rex here?! does he now know, too?!\" Tay ranted. Rex cocked his ears and looked at Tay with lowered eyelids.\n \"know what?\" He asked. Becky buried her face in her paw.\n \"he knows i need to take you guys to ireos.\" Becky said, staring the dingo boy down. Rex eyed the group suspiciously. \"it doesn't matter, rex. let's just go.\" Becky said. Rex gave Becky a short glance then looked at the twins.\n \"okay then.\" He said, producing his phone. After tapping a few times, there was a buzzing noise that quickly turned into a low hum. Suddenly, a glowing white line appeared in thin air, about a yardstick or so high, finally 'opening up' into a glowing white rectangle, like a door way. The twins stood with mouths open, amazed. \"walk in.\" Rex said. The twins looked at Becky then each other. Izzy went first, the light quickly fading and revealing a clean space, comfy furniture and sleek designs surrounding them. Soon, everyone was through the doorway and it closed, revealing just a blank wall.\n \"Wow!\" Tay cried out, startling his sister.\n \"tay! quiet!\" She rasped.\n \"No, it's okay, Iz. We're not gonna be heard by anyone.\" Becky said.\n \"Except me!\" A familiar voice called out. Rounding a corner, Jules appeared, smiling big. She stood right next to a woman, cat, who looked confused at the roo girl next to her.\n \"Uh, excuse me,\" the woman said, \"I think I'm the one they shoulda been worried about disturbing, but, heh, I'm not.\" She turned to the twins and approached, smiling. \"Hello, I'm Neora, Rex's, uh... Rex stepped up.\n \"Here.\" He said, handing the roo girl a device much like the ones already attached to the twins' sides, but was red and black.\n \"Thank you, Rex.\" She said.\n \"I'll start up the shuttle.\" Rex said, heading to a door that seemed to just open up in the wall, but not like before; this one was more physical.\n \"I-is Rex coming, too?\" Tay asked. Rex stopped and turned his head.\n \"No, Ireos bores me.\" He said. Tay made a weird noise.\n \"How could you be bored of Oreos! Idiot!\" Tay yelled, prompting Rex to punch Tay's arm.\n \"Stupid little-\"\n \"I'll beat the arse off ya!\" Tay said, launching the boys into another fight, one Tay was quickly losing. Becky threw out her paws.\n \"We don't have time for this.\" She said, lifting both boys off the floor and away from each other. \"Rex, go get the shuttle started. We gotta activate the flux streams soon.\"\n \"Yeah, yeah...\" Rex said, leaving.\n \"Let's go.\" Becky said, ushering everyone toward the door. \"And no more stupid stuff, Tay.\" Tay didn't say anything.\n The group entered a long room with what looked like a futuristic car in the middle with a door swung up and open. There were parallel lines and bars on the walls and the wall at one end said:\n\n[Center][b]WARNING: STAY CLEAR TO OUTER DOOR[/b][/center]\n\n Izzy wondered where it led. \"'Outer Door' to where?\" she asked aloud.\n \"To space, of course.\" Neora said calmly. \"Well, to a landing shaft which leads to a door that leads to, uh, space, heh.\" Izzy's blood froze.\n \"We're already in space?!\" she exclaimed. Neora and Becky laughed.\n \"Yeah, this is where Rex lives.\" Becky said, \"It's kinda an apartment orbiting Earth. Cool, huh?\" Izzy nodded with enthusiasm. Tay just stared.\n \"We're in space?\" he said slowly.\n \"Yep!\" Neora confirmed. Tay just walked forward and looked the shuttle up and down.\n \"...wow...\" he said, mouth staying open.\n \"Anyway,\" Neora started, \"you guys need to go. Got your flux aggregators clipped on?\" Becky nodded and Jules clipped hers on.\n \"Yep!\" she said. Inside, there were two seats up front with a console that looked about how she imagined small space ship controls to look: buttons and switches and knobs, blinking lights, glowing displays. Behind these seats there were two rows of seats, maybe three. It was dark blue all inside, especially up front at the controls. Toward the back, it was pitch black with some tiny lights shining through.\n \"Wow, this is nice.\" Izzy said.\n \"Innit cool?\" Jules asked, seeming as excited as her first time probably was. Becky checked the controls alongside Rex, agreeing with something while Tay was running back and forth between the seats. \"Spacious, huh, Tay?\" Tay had a worried look on his face.\n \"Where's the loo?!\" He cried.\n \"Are there not any?\" Izzy asked, turning to Jules, who she presumed had been on this shuttle before.\n \"Oh, sure, well, kinda...\" the roo girl said, leading the twins to a tiny closet-sized space with an open oval angled up.\n \"Please don't tell me that's what we pee into.\" Izzy said.\n \"Or worse.\" Tay said. Jules laughed.\n \"Oh, you silly McIntoshes!\" Jules said. The trio laughed. \"Of course that's what you do!\" Izzy was sure she pulled a muscle dropping her smile so fast.\n \"Well... okay... is it a long trip?\" She asked.\n \"It's only about 2 hours.\" Becky said, overhearing.\n \"It could be fine for 2 hours, huh, Tay?\" She said, but Tay looked unable to hold it 2 seconds.\n \"Lemme use the space piss clam loo!\" Tay yelled, starting a potty dance.\n \"Tay, don't call it that! But if I get sucked out through my bum into space, I'll never speak to you again!\" Tay threatened, turning to the tiny space. \n \"Clearly.\" Jules said. Izzy elbowed her and Tay closed the door awkwardly.\n \"Okay, time to activate the flux streams.\" Becky said, approaching the scene. \"Tay, can you reach your aggregator in there?\"\n After a small delay, there came a voice, \"Ugh... ack... you're... you're aggravating.\"\n \"No, Tay, your time flux thingie.\" Izzy said, feeling dumb, but knowing what Tay might know.\n \"Y... yeah... I think... yeah, yeah, uh, should I wash my paw first?\" Tay said. Becky cleared her throat.\n \"No, Tay, we don't have time. Just... don't worry about it for now, there's no time!\"\n \"A woman can't tell me wha-\" The door flew open, revealing Tay, pants down, sitting on the oval, surprised.\n \"NOW, TAY!\" Becky screamed. Jules laughed.\n \"We're ready, Attila.\" She said. Becky gave her a sideways glance of anger.\n \"Everyone, click the side square button twice.\" She instructed. Everyone seemed to do so. \"Now, when everyone's is glowing, we press the middle button once.\" Eyes were looking around to see if everyone was glowing. Tay's wasn't. \"Tay, click your square button twice.\"\n \"I... I can't quite...\" Tay whined. Becky growled then tapped hers a bunch more times.\n \"Shhhhould we, um...\" Izzy asked.\n \"No, I'm doing something, just a sec...\" Becky said, smiling and looking to see Tay's aggregator was glowing. \"Remotely clicked your button twice, Tay, haha.\" Becky said with a smirk.\n \"Whatever...\" Tay pouted.\n \"Ready, everyone? Click!\" Becky called out. One by one, the group became slightly blurry for a second then righted back, even Tay. \"Okay, that's done, now let's go.\"\n \"Cool.\" Izzy said.\n \"Sweet.\" Jules said.\n \"Um, my butt is still seeable!\" Tay cried. Izzy turned and shut the door.\n Becky sat up front next to Rex, who pointed out some last minute things for Izzy, who leaned over the back of Becky's seat.\n \"Okay, just keep this heading, and even if you deviate cus of that idiot, the shuttle will self-correct, okay?\" He said.\n \"Okay, cool.\" Izzy said, nodding. Rex got up and left the shuttle, the door closing behind him. Soon, a weird flushing noise was heard and Becky’s face looked concerned.\n \"Say, Iz, wanna sit up here with me? The view is great wherever actually, but I wanna show you some cool stuff!\" Becky asked. Izzy smiled.\n \"Yeah!\" Izzy said, starting to allow the reality of their situation sink in. Maybe she felt a little nervous about this and some little sciency time with Becky would be fun. The back door opened and Tay wandered out.\n \"Tay, would you mind sitting next to Jules?\" Izzy said, wincing in anticipation of Tay complaining, but he surprised her, promptly sitting in the seat next to Jules.\n \"Buckle up, dingo boy.\" She said, watching Tay buckle in. Izzy took note of how easily Tay buckled his belt, so she looked at her own; it strongly resembled car seat belts and it made Izzy feel a little easier.\n The group could see out the side windows Neora waving and Rex standing, looking protective, but a little smile appeared for a split second before he looked away, straight at the door labeled 'STAND CLEAR OF OUTER DOOR.' Outer door, Izzy thought. Space. Outer space. Izzy's insides jumped as the shuttle made a low rumble and an easy lift into the air. Once the rumble faded, it was clear they were floating. The door before them opened and the shuttle moved forward into a large vertical shaft, across which were other doors like the one they just left. Izzy imagined these were the other 'apartments'. Once clear of the door, it closed behind them and they started moving up towards an enormous door that said in huge letters:\n\n[center][b]OUTER DOOR[/b][/center]\n\n Izzy felt excitement and nerves in a strong mix. They were not only about to fly through space, but visit another planet! It was insane! She looked behind her at Tay, who caught her glance. She held out her paw at him, which he took hold of. The large door opened with a loud thud and the clean white revealed the infinite black, tiny lights piercing the darkness light years away.",

Rex's Apartment

"It'll be fine, Tay."
Izzy faced her closet, having just put on her shoes.
"No, wait-"
Tay looked at the bedroom door, just putting his socks on.
"Tay, Mum and Dad will be okay; we're not leaving them." Izzy said, turned to her brother; his solemn profile contrasted with the pink and purple collage of friends behind him. Tay turned, angry and sad.
"But... but we're goin' to another planet!" He whined.
"Yeah," Izzy said, smiling and holding her brother's shoulder, "but we'll be back. We're not mov-"
Tay turned to face Izzy. "I know we're not moving there, Izzy." Izzy looked at him with big eyes. Quietly, the boy sat on his sister's bed, putting his shoes on. Izzy grabbed her suitcase.
"Okay... let's go." She said. Tay stood up, coughed and grabbed his. As Izzy approached the door, Tay kept looking himself over. "what's wrong, tay?"
"should... should we bring our hoodies?"
"why would we bring our hoodies?"
"it's cold in space."
"we're not gonna be in space; we're going to another planet."
"yeah, but it's cold here; what if it's cold there?" Izzy looked around to gaze at her hoodie hanging in the corner of her room; Tay had a very good point. They should pack for any weather. Izzy knew she had enough sense to figure that if their current place on Earth was still experiencing winter, it didn’t mean it would be winter wherever on planet Ireos they'd be going.
"it'll be fine, tay. let's go." She whispered. The twins made their way silently down to the backyard. They opened the backdoor slowly and found Becky already waiting on them.
"hey." She said under her breath.
"hey, becky." Izzy said. The two friends hugged and Tay yawned.
"hey, becky, yahhhhhhhh..." he moaned quietly...
"you guys ready?" Becky asked. Izzy looked at Tay, who was sleepy still, then back to Becky, smiling big and holding her suitcase with both paws. "nervous, iz?"
"of course; it's not only a big deal going to another planet, it's a big deal to our relationship." She said, shaky voice.
"it should be fine, i believe in you guys." Becky said, turning to the fence that had separated their two yards all these years, crawling through the loose board and into Becky's yard. They entered Becky's house and closed the door. "Cool, now we don't have to whisper."
"Where's your mom?" Izzy asked, looking around.
"She's out of town this weekend." Becky said, leading the twins to the kitchen counter where three orange and white devices resembling deodorant cases wrapped in thick belts sat.
"Ooh, are these popsicles?" Tay said, brightening up. Becky rounded the counter and looked at the items.
"No, they're-"
"Oh, orangesicles! Of course." Tay said. Becky looked up at him.
"No, Tay, these are flux aggregators." Becky explained. "We use these to initiate the flux aperture so we can fit three days into five hours, remember?" Tay yawned and scratched his head.
"Hey, whatever..." he said.
"How heavy are they?" Izzy asked, looking closer.
"Oh, they're very light; no sense carrying something heavy, right?" Becky chuckled, grabbing one. "See, they clip like this." Becky snapped hers to a belt loop on her pants. Izzy grabbed one and delighted in it's weight; it was like nothing! She lifted her shirt and clipped it to a belt loop. Tay made an annoyed, early morning noise.
"Now, if I wanted a dorky aggravating thing on me, I woulda just-"
"Aggregator, Tay, it's not aggravating." Becky said.
"Yeah," Izzy started, "it's actually very light." No more words were said as Tay grabbed his device and clipped it easily to his waist.
"Ahh... yeah, I see." He said.
"Now," Becky said, leading the twins to her front door, "we're going outside to meet Rex and he'll take us to his apartment."
"His apartment?" Izzy asked, "We've... wow, we've never been to Rex's place before; actually, he... always tends to..."
"Deflect the conversation concerning where he lives, yeah." Becky said, opening the door.
"Rex's apartment? Why're we..." Tay started, his thought not making it past the door frame, it seemed. Both girls looked at each other and shrugged. Izzy could see in the early morning light, a figure standing in the street outside Becky's house.
"Oh, does-"
"we, uh, actually have to whisper out here, sorry, iz." Becky said, smiling awkwardly. Izzy chuckled quietly.
"okay, well, does rex live down this street?" She asked. Becky stammered to answer the dingo girl’s question.
"no, but... well, his apartment is... it's, um..."
"i have to activate my gate outside; too many loose particles get caught in things like wood and dry wall." A familiar whisper. Izzy recognized it right away as Rex, whose features became more apparent as they approached. Tay made a noise that sounded shocked.
"What?!"
"shhh, tay!" Becky hissed, nearly launching a paw over his mouth.
"why's rex here?! does he now know, too?!" Tay ranted. Rex cocked his ears and looked at Tay with lowered eyelids.
"know what?" He asked. Becky buried her face in her paw.
"he knows i need to take you guys to ireos." Becky said, staring the dingo boy down. Rex eyed the group suspiciously. "it doesn't matter, rex. let's just go." Becky said. Rex gave Becky a short glance then looked at the twins.
"okay then." He said, producing his phone. After tapping a few times, there was a buzzing noise that quickly turned into a low hum. Suddenly, a glowing white line appeared in thin air, about a yardstick or so high, finally 'opening up' into a glowing white rectangle, like a door way. The twins stood with mouths open, amazed. "walk in." Rex said. The twins looked at Becky then each other. Izzy went first, the light quickly fading and revealing a clean space, comfy furniture and sleek designs surrounding them. Soon, everyone was through the doorway and it closed, revealing just a blank wall.
"Wow!" Tay cried out, startling his sister.
"tay! quiet!" She rasped.
"No, it's okay, Iz. We're not gonna be heard by anyone." Becky said.
"Except me!" A familiar voice called out. Rounding a corner, Jules appeared, smiling big. She stood right next to a woman, cat, who looked confused at the roo girl next to her.
"Uh, excuse me," the woman said, "I think I'm the one they shoulda been worried about disturbing, but, heh, I'm not." She turned to the twins and approached, smiling. "Hello, I'm Neora, Rex's, uh... Aunt."
"And I'm Jules, Rex's ex!" Jules said, stepping in the way.
"Uh, yeah, we know who you are, Jules." Izzy said.
"Get outta the way, Jules. Why are you even here?" Becky said. Jules smiled at the raccoon with sly eyes.
"I like your hair today, Becky." Jules said, sending Becky into a confused stance.
"Thanks, Jules. It's the same as yesterday's hair."
"Yeah... I know..." Jules said, dreamy.
"Okay, well, whatever. Neora was just introducing herself to the twins." Becky said, flustered. Neora held her paws up, breathing in and sighing, holding a paw out to Izzy.
"Nice to meet you!" Izzy said, shaking paws.
"Nice to meet you, Isabelle, right?"
"Yeah, everyone calls me Izzy, though."
"I bet, Rex tells me you're the nicest person in the group." Neora said. Izzy looked back at Rex, who looked down and was blushing.
"You think I'm nice?" Izzy asked.
"Well... yeah..." Rex said, shuffling away from the group. Izzy smiled; Rex was rarely so nice himself, it was weird that he'd bother to mention Izzy being nice.
"Thank you, R-"
"DON'T TOUCH MY GODDAMN GIRLFRIEND, ASSHAT!" Tay exclaimed, jumping at the wolf boy, who turned to the dingo boy, surprised, and punched him in the arm.
"Tay, no!" Izzy cried.
"What the hell?!" Rex yelled, the boys nearly getting into a tussle.
"Oh, boy, this is hot!" Jules said.
"Boys! Stop!" Becky said, paws out and ready. Rex shoved Tay down and walked off.
"Nuthole!" Tay yelled.
"It's 'butthole,' idiot!" Rex growled back at him.
"Damn right you are!" Tay barked.
"Boys! Boys! Stop!" Becky said, two paws out now.
"Sorry, Becky, Aunt Neora..." he said.
"It's, uh, okay, heh..." Neora said, eyes opening wider suddenly, "Wait... did Taylor just refer to Isabelle as his 'girlfriend?'" The room went silent.
"Wow, that's a mighty big cat coming out of a mighty big bag." Jules said, turning to Neora, "No offense."
"Oh, none taken, heh..." the cat woman said.
"So, the McIntosh twins... together, huh?" Rex said from his corner. The twins appeared blank as white sheets, except for the blushing.
"Look, it doesn't matter." Becky spoke up, "Neora, we need to go to Ireos." Neora had a surprised expression that quickly turned parental.
"What's their parents' say on this?" She asked. Becky bit her lip.
"They kinda... don't know..."
"What? Really?"
"In fact, they don't even really know about any of this stuff. They're just normal people." Becky said, voice getting more and more desperate. Neora thought for a second then laughed.
"Haha, I think I know what's going on, but yeah, you can have your piece of mind, kids." She said, looking at the twins, who had clustered together. Izzy felt this woman knew exactly what they were trying to do.
"We were also gonna flux cus they only have 5 hours." Becky relayed. Neora's ears perked.
"Oh! In that case, I have some-"
"We have our own, thank you, Neora." Becky said, smiling big.
"What about me?" Jules asked. Becky turned to her.
"What do you mean?"
"Do ya have one for me, sweetie?"
"Don't call me sweetie. No, why would we have a flux aggregator for you?"
"So I could go with!" Jules said with a high pitch. Becky's eyelids lowered.
"You are not coming with us, Jules."
"Oh, come on, Becks."
"Don't call me Becks."
"Okay, honeylips."
"Don't call me-" Becky threw her arms up. "Look, you're not going to Ireos, okay?"
"Why not? Aren't you, like, the boss there?"
"Exactly."
"Come on... I've been there before, with Rex when we were going out." Jules said, leaning in toward Becky's ear. "and i knew the twins were together long before you, so..." Izzy could hear this whisper clearly, reminding her that Jules never wanted to reveal what may not have already been revealed by Tay's outburst.
"Becky..." Izzy said, approaching the situation, "I'd like her to go with us., please." Becky's expression softened.
"Okay, you can go, but you'll need one of Neora's flux aggregators." She said. Rex stepped up.
"Here." He said, handing the roo girl a device much like the ones already attached to the twins' sides, but was red and black.
"Thank you, Rex." She said.
"I'll start up the shuttle." Rex said, heading to a door that seemed to just open up in the wall, but not like before; this one was more physical.
"I-is Rex coming, too?" Tay asked. Rex stopped and turned his head.
"No, Ireos bores me." He said. Tay made a weird noise.
"How could you be bored of Oreos! Idiot!" Tay yelled, prompting Rex to punch Tay's arm.
"Stupid little-"
"I'll beat the arse off ya!" Tay said, launching the boys into another fight, one Tay was quickly losing. Becky threw out her paws.
"We don't have time for this." She said, lifting both boys off the floor and away from each other. "Rex, go get the shuttle started. We gotta activate the flux streams soon."
"Yeah, yeah..." Rex said, leaving.
"Let's go." Becky said, ushering everyone toward the door. "And no more stupid stuff, Tay." Tay didn't say anything.
The group entered a long room with what looked like a futuristic car in the middle with a door swung up and open. There were parallel lines and bars on the walls and the wall at one end said:
WARNING: STAY CLEAR TO OUTER DOOR
Izzy wondered where it led. "'Outer Door' to where?" she asked aloud.
"To space, of course." Neora said calmly. "Well, to a landing shaft which leads to a door that leads to, uh, space, heh." Izzy's blood froze.
"We're already in space?!" she exclaimed. Neora and Becky laughed.
"Yeah, this is where Rex lives." Becky said, "It's kinda an apartment orbiting Earth. Cool, huh?" Izzy nodded with enthusiasm. Tay just stared.
"We're in space?" he said slowly.
"Yep!" Neora confirmed. Tay just walked forward and looked the shuttle up and down.
"...wow..." he said, mouth staying open.
"Anyway," Neora started, "you guys need to go. Got your flux aggregators clipped on?" Becky nodded and Jules clipped hers on.
"Yep!" she said. Rex poked his head out of the shuttle.
"After you activate the aggregators and you head away from the sun, the flux 'aperture' will set." He explained.
"Will the gravity of Ireos affect it then?" Izzy asked.
"No, the grav-"
"Too much nerdy crap!" Tay yelled, "Let's just go!" Rex stepped down and smacked the dingo boy in the arm. "Ow! That's the same place!"
"I know! That's why I keep doing it, moron!" Rex said, looking at Becky who was ready to stop another fight. "No more fights, I know." Then he turned to Izzy. "The flux stream. Just... trust it."
"Let's go." Becky said, leading the group onto the shuttle. Inside, there were two seats up front with a console that looked about how she imagined small space ship controls to look: buttons and switches and knobs, blinking lights, glowing displays. Behind these seats there were two rows of seats, maybe three. It was dark blue all inside, especially up front at the controls. Toward the back, it was pitch black with some tiny lights shining through.
"Wow, this is nice." Izzy said.
"Innit cool?" Jules asked, seeming as excited as her first time probably was. Becky checked the controls alongside Rex, agreeing with something while Tay was running back and forth between the seats. "Spacious, huh, Tay?" Tay had a worried look on his face.
"Where's the loo?!" He cried.
"Are there not any?" Izzy asked, turning to Jules, who she presumed had been on this shuttle before.
"Oh, sure, well, kinda..." the roo girl said, leading the twins to a tiny closet-sized space with an open oval angled up.
"Please don't tell me that's what we pee into." Izzy said.
"Or worse." Tay said. Jules laughed.
"Oh, you silly McIntoshes!" Jules said. The trio laughed. "Of course that's what you do!" Izzy was sure she pulled a muscle dropping her smile so fast.
"Well... okay... is it a long trip?" She asked.
"It's only about 2 hours." Becky said, overhearing.
"It could be fine for 2 hours, huh, Tay?" She said, but Tay looked unable to hold it 2 seconds.
"Lemme use the space piss clam loo!" Tay yelled, starting a potty dance.
"Tay, don't call it that! Call it a loo!" Izzy scolded.
"Poo loo!" Tay yelled.
"No!" Izzy cried.
"Poo loo! Poo loo!" Jules sang.
"Oh my god, no! Stop! That's dumb! Tay, use the loo if ya gotta go! You should be okay for the next 2 hours!" Izzy felt a little like Becky, yelling so much, then she felt bad for automatically thinking of her friend that way.
"Fine! But if I get sucked out through my bum into space, I'll never speak to you again!" Tay threatened, turning to the tiny space.
"Clearly." Jules said. Izzy elbowed her and Tay closed the door awkwardly.
"Okay, time to activate the flux streams." Becky said, approaching the scene. "Tay, can you reach your aggregator in there?"
After a small delay, there came a voice, "Ugh... ack... you're... you're aggravating."
"No, Tay, your time flux thingie." Izzy said, feeling dumb, but knowing what Tay might know.
"Y... yeah... I think... yeah, yeah, uh, should I wash my paw first?" Tay said. Becky cleared her throat.
"No, Tay, we don't have time. It's washable, so-"
"I don't want three day-mutated space germs!"
"They're your germs, Tay! Just... don't worry about it for now, there's no time!"
"A woman can't tell me wha-" The door flew open, revealing Tay, pants down, sitting on the oval, surprised.
"NOW, TAY!" Becky screamed. Jules laughed.
"We're ready, Attila." She said. Becky gave her a sideways glance of anger.
"Everyone, click the side square button twice." She instructed. Everyone seemed to do so. "Now, when everyone's is glowing, we press the middle button once." Eyes were looking around to see if everyone was glowing. Tay's wasn't. "Tay, click your square button twice."
"I... I can't quite..." Tay whined. Becky growled then tapped hers a bunch more times.
"Shhhhould we, um..." Izzy asked.
"No, I'm doing something, just a sec..." Becky said, smiling and looking to see Tay's aggregator was glowing. "Remotely clicked your button twice, Tay, haha." Becky said with a smirk.
"Whatever..." Tay pouted.
"Ready, everyone? Click!" Becky called out. One by one, the group became slightly blurry for a second then righted back, even Tay. "Okay, that's done, now let's go."
"Cool." Izzy said.
"Sweet." Jules said.
"Um, my butt is still seeable!" Tay cried. Izzy turned and shut the door.
Becky sat up front next to Rex, who pointed out some last minute things for Izzy, who leaned over the back of Becky's seat.
"Okay, just keep this heading, and even if you deviate cus of that idiot, the shuttle will self-correct, okay?" He said.
"Okay, cool." Izzy said, nodding. Rex got up and left the shuttle, the door closing behind him. Soon, a weird flushing noise was heard and Becky’s face looked concerned.
"Say, Iz, wanna sit up here with me? The view is great wherever actually, but I wanna show you some cool stuff!" Becky asked. Izzy smiled.
"Yeah!" Izzy said, starting to allow the reality of their situation sink in. Maybe she felt a little nervous about this and some little sciency time with Becky would be fun. The back door opened and Tay wandered out.
"Tay, would you mind sitting next to Jules?" Izzy said, wincing in anticipation of Tay complaining, but he surprised her, promptly sitting in the seat next to Jules.
"Buckle up, dingo boy." She said, watching Tay buckle in. Izzy took note of how easily Tay buckled his belt, so she looked at her own; it strongly resembled car seat belts and it made Izzy feel a little easier.
The group could see out the side windows Neora waving and Rex standing, looking protective, but a little smile appeared for a split second before he looked away, straight at the door labeled 'STAND CLEAR OF OUTER DOOR.'
