"W-what?!" Brenda shouted, nearly choking in the sudden shift in stupidity and turning around to fully view the kids, "THAT'S what you're arguing about?!"
"Yes, Mom." Izzy said, irked air to her voice.
"Well, that's so... ugh..." Brenda said, irritated and whipping back to face front.
"Sorry, Mom. Tay's dumb like that." Izzy said. Brenda glanced at her daughter.
"Don't call your brother-" she started, looking back again slowly, sighing, "...don't call him dumb, okay?" Brenda had an almost pleading face as she said this, as if to say 'don't call him dumb, because we love him... even though he is incredibly stupid.' The girls and Cotter giggled, especially as Tay huffed into silence.
Jason pulled the van around a bend, which brought the road beside a river which led to the lake nearby. There was a main campgrounds clubhouse and restaurant surrounded by more campsites, though these were a bit closer together and mainly had RVs parked. Through the windows, the kids watched as they rode through tall under brushes of thick, tall trees, leading them to where the hiking trails began. There were people everywhere, as everyone seemed to have the idea to hit this hot spot of the grounds. Some were clearly heading for the river and lake, some were seeking a hike as well. Jason parked the van and everyone got out.
"So, I think there's more than one trail. Should be a map over by the clubhouse. " Jason said, gathering some things by his wife.

"Yes, you." Brenda said, not looking at him anymore.

"Yes."
"Are you sure it's me?" Tay asked, high-pitched voice. Brenda threw her arms down and looked at him again.
"Absolutely you, Taylor, yes! Don't do what you normally do with water bottles!" Brenda said, staring at her son for a few seconds before returning to her supply task.
"What are you talking about?" The boy asked. The girls looked at him, one giggly, the other irate.
"Tay, you're always pretending to pee with the water, pouring it out slowly with your back turned." Izzy said. Tay chuckled.
"Whaaat? Don't you think it's funny?" He asked, smiling.
"No, Tay. That water's for drinking and you keep wasting it on a dumb joke that's never funny." Izzy said, turning to help her mother.
"Oh, I think it's actually really funny if you think about it."
"Tay, Tay..." Cotter started, smiling awkwardly, "the thing about that joke..."
"Yeah, tell him, Cotter." Izzy said.
"Yes, please explain it to him. Maybe you can get through to him." Brenda chimed in. Cotter threw a paw onto Tay's shoulder, smile fading.
"The thing about that joke is... it's ALWAYS funny!" Cotter said, sending Tay into a super smile and the McIntosh females into disgusted sighs of hopelessness. The boys high-foured.
"You boys are so stupid, my god..." Izzy said, trailing off and helping Brenda finish. She closed the back door and locked the van. They located Jason by the map, decided on the Orange Trail and after Jason fit his pack onto himself, they were on their way.
"Sure are lots of people here." Jules said as they approached the entrance to the Orange trail.
"Yeah, it's Saturday; always a prime day for being outdoors." Jason explained.
"If the weather is fine." Brenda added.
"If the weather is fine, yeah." Jason said.
The adults moved to the front of the group, kids hanging back a bit. The girls lagged behind the boys for more private conversations. This wasn't something new to anyone; they did this a lot as they got older. There were narrow pathways and everyone took turns going through, though some people took their turns on their way back down the trail, so the group was hung up for a little while, maybe a minute or so. Each time it came for the girls to go through, Jules motioned for Izzy to go first.
As polite as this was, the dingo girl figured there may have been a reason, and just as she started to notice, Jules pinched her on the bum.
