I've learned so much about making characters throughout 2018 that it would be a shame not to modernize the old ones. And let's face it, some of them were just begging for fixes and improvements. I MADE JINJING-YU IN 2012 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD IT WAS ABOUT TIME I DID THIS\n\nI tried to not change the design too much, while still changing the anatomy a whole lot. I'm pretty sure most people won't even notice much of a difference without comparing, but I bet she feels much more alive and convincing now, eh? C:\n\nThe upgrade took me a bit over a week to finish, and about half of that was used to work on the hair. :^) Also look - whiskers! :D A very important and underappreciated feature that's omitted far too often in character design.\n\nAnyway, here's a more or less full list of changes:\n- improved (or more like added, amirite?) the general anatomy to look much more natural and defined\n- focused on bringing out her various features and characteristics\n- added so much life to the face that it became a separate lifeform and started a civilization of its own\n- scaled down the ridiculously large pupils\n- removed the hand pads, which were a really stupid idea (but not the finger pads)\n- balanced the textures and shaders\n- ADDED WHISKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\n- redid the hair pretty much from scratch, improved the styling, and made it much more streamlined on the technical side; less headaches, and more working speed, while looking better ;3;\n- considerably improved most other technical aspects; she is now much more pleasant to work with, and takes about 40% less space in scene files\n\nAnd that's probably everything. Definitely the most important things anyway. There are still a few kinks to iron out, but I'll be fixing those as I learn of them by making art with her lol\n\nAnd I'm posting this in the ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE full size for everyone ever, because it's technically an intro piece.
