The woman’s wild squirming made it impossible to examine her. Eventually I decided it was a fruitless effort. I wouldn’t be able to get anywhere until she was asleep or, preferably, unconscious. I thought it would take too long for her to fall asleep, plus the fact that unless she was a very heavy sleeper it would still be difficult to look over her entire body. “I can’t examine her like this. I take it that there’s nothing in the store that knock her out or put her in a deep sleep.” I said, looking at the employee. “Nope, nothing like that. Mostly just food, drinks, and a few cheap toys.” he replied after shaking his head. I sighed, “Well then, I’m gonna take my chances out there and go search for some kind of medicine that’ll do that.” Everyone looked at me in shock. “Are you nuts?! They’d eat you alive out there!” said one of the policemen. “Well, I doubt you know what drugs do what, or what each of them look like, so unless you’re willing to bring me every pill, needle, powder, and gas you find, and probably make several trips back and forth, I need to be the one going out there!” I retorted, annoyed at him acting as though I was weak, “Now if you’re really all that concerned, then why not come with me?” “Uh… Well ya see...” It was clear that he hadn’t expected the type of reaction I gave by the way he began to stammer. After a minute I heard him mumble something but I couldn’t make it out. “What was that?” I asked. He then mumbled it a little louder, but I still couldn’t hear him. “Come on, speak up.” I said. The officer sighed before shouting out, “I can’t go because I wouldn’t stand a chance either! Their numbers alone would overwhelm both of us!” I looked around at the others. “Well, does anyone want to volunteer to come along and help?” I asked, only to receive nothing but silence. After a minute, Knuckles stepped forward. “Ah hell, why not? I’ve taken on mobs of Eggman’s robots, so a bunch of horny women shouldn’t be too tough to handle.” “You realize that I don’t want any violence during this search, right? If possible, I don’t want to hurt a single person” “Mmm… That’s gonna be tough.” “If you’d rather not fight, then your best option would be stealth.” said a voice from above. Looking up, I was surprised to see Espio gazing down from a small hole in the ceiling. “What are you doing here?” I asked, confused, “Isn’t Vector’s place a good distance out of town?” Espio nodded once he dropped down, “Yes, but he’s almost out of food and water, and he and Charmy are both too worn out to do anything. They’ve barricaded themselves in his house and sent me to try to get some. I’ll help you get to and from the hospital to search for whatever you need in exchange for some of your supplies.” he said. I thought about the situation for a minute before deciding that the choice wasn’t up to me. It should be the decision of whoever owned the shop or, if he wasn’t here, the employee at least. Would the trip be worth it? Was there another way we could work this out?
