There was a knock on the apartment door and Jay rushed over from where he had been waiting in the living/dining area to open it. He was a red panda of average height with a slender physique. He was still a little upset because he had woken up this morning, went to take a shower, and found it on the fritz. He opened up the door to reveal his friend Jon standing there with a tool box in his hand and a yawn on his face.
"Thanks for coming over so early, if I can avoid hiring an actual plumber that would be nice" said the red panda with a smile on his face, looking over his grey wolf friend that stood half a foot taller than him. It looked like he had thrown on whatever clothes had been on his floor and was wearing the dark blue hoodie that he was always wearing.
"It's no problem man, happy to help. You do know your landlord has people whose job it is to fix these things?"
Jay moved aside and ushered the grey wolf into his apartment. "Yeah I do, but it's so hard to get a hold of them this early and I would like to see if I can get this finished before I have to go to my art showing."
"Oh, that's today? It's over at the regular campus gallery right, not one of those weird ones?"
"Yeah. If you want, I can put you on the list so you don't have to pay to get in. It's the least I can do" he said with another big smile.
"I wouldn't miss it" he said returning the smile. "So what was the problem?"
"Well, I turned it on and things just went crazy. There was this strange sound and then water went everywhere!"
"Hmmm, sounds like there might be air getting into your pipes. Could just be loose. Let me try some things." He went into the small bathroom and set his tool box down. Jay stood in the door way to give the wolf room to work. Jay let go of the wolf's neck and went back to stand in the doorway as the wolf bent down to get something from his toolbox giving the panda a view of his rump. "You wouldn't happen to have one of your X-Acto-knives around would you; I seemed to have misplaced my utility knife."
"Of course, I take it you need a big one."
