My Morning Wake-up

I woke on my birthday and looked at my clock,
the clock read twelve and I said, "Oh God".
So I sat up in bed, and lifted the cover
then saw my favorite calico cat sucking my rod.
I met her gaze, but knew not what to say,
then she came off my rod and said "Happy Birthday".
'What a weird dream', I thought, 'and man is it cheap.'
So I lay back down and return to sleep.

So I sat up in bed, and lifted the cover
then saw my favorite black kitty cat sucking my rod.
I met her gaze, but knew not what to say,
then she came off my rod and said "Happy Birthday".
'What a weird dream', I thought, 'and man is it cheap.'
So I lay back down and return to sleep.

I woke on my birthday to the bright, bright sun,
I cover my eyes and say, "Oh dear God."
So I sit up in bed, and lifted the cover
and see my three cats with their mouths on my rod.
I meet their six eyes, but have nothing to say,
then they come off my rod and and cheer, "Happy Birthday!"
I shook my head, knowing I'll get no more rest,
then I said to my cats, "You girls are the best."
