As the silver strip stutter-screams around my slender thighs, the gap of air between them is hidden from view and wedges the existing skin of plastic and tape deeper into my camel toe. The plastic bag fogging up before my eyes limits my vision to my immediate surroundings and fills my taped ears with a rhythmic crinkling that blocks out any conversation that might be happening between the two 'facilitators'. Their combined efforts have the effect of rotating me until I'm facing the dangling duct-taped mummy of my friend...my [i]best[/i] friend since as far as either of us could remember. I have no doubt she was the mastermind of these proceedings; it's too conveniently-timed to be coincidence.\n\nI also have no doubt this was her response to my sad news from a week prior: that my dad had accepted a new job and would be moving our family far away. This was supposed to be a weekend sleepover, an unchaperoned last hurrah of pizza and ice cream sundaes and movies and unfiltered midnight chat before saying our goodbyes tomorrow morning. Instead, I passed out after just a few bites of strange-tasting hot fudge and woke up like this.\n\nThe two individuals cocooning me are strangers (besides being older and a different species), but they seem disturbingly practiced in their craft. As they fold my arms across my flat chest and pin my mitted hands against my collarbone, I decide their identity probably doesn't matter. Instead, I spend my dwindling energy trying to enjoy it as much as I can.\n\nAfter all, aren't best friends supposed to stay together forever?",
