I think this is an improvement - especially in terms of the faces, shading, and the background - but the bones of the original are clearly visible. I've seen a lot of the artists I admire try to revamp their oldest works to see how far they've come. It was fun, and I certainly recommend it!\n\n- - - - - - -\n\nThe pharaoh was dying. As the last of his bloodline, he was adamant that his daughter Neferkiti ascend the Kemetian throne upon coming of age. Unfortunately, the regent he appointed to rule in the interim was the same advisor responsible for poisoning him in the first place. Barely a fortnight passed after the pharaoh's interment before Neferkiti was snatched up in the dead of night and secreted across the Nile.\n\nFour jackal guards were needed to subdue the frantically struggling kitten and another two to thoroughly bathe and bandage her. The hidden chamber beneath her father's tomb had been prepared simply; no gold, no furniture, no ritual offerings of food or drink to sustain her in the afterlife. They would not be necessary. The spell etched on the stone walls would imprison her six aspects - Ka (life force), Ba (personality and spirit), Akh (the unified soul), Ib (heart), Sheut (shadow), and Ren (name) - keeping her alive indefinitely so the judges of the afterlife would never learn of their treachery.",
