For dramatic effect, the narrator will usually grab a nearby roll of duct-tape and pull off a long length to mimic the unsettling sounds, sending shudders through the enraptured listeners' tall, pointed ears and freezing their collective tails mid-swish.\n\nWhat never changes is the vixen's curiosity overcoming her sensible instincts, causing her to investigate the sticky siren call. Upon entering the attic (or basement or whathaveyou), she usually finds a dusty table, a pile of duct-tape, and countless mmphfing and squirming little mummies strewn about. Before she can turn and run, spectral hands always latch on, the shock and chill of this supernatural contact turning her hair white. It is now that the tape is applied to the vixen by these brutish spirits - driven to forever and monomaniacally repeat what they did in life to curse this place.\n\nAt this point, one or more confederates of the narrator (usually older siblings), spring out from behind the listeners and yank prepared strips of tape across their muzzles, resulting in many satisfying squeals of surprise.
