series of comics I was doing, this is actually the last of them (though I am considering doing more), with the fire and water starters also having a variation (the Eeveelutions as well). If you guys like it, I might go ahead and release those other pages as well. To sumarize the concept though, these are comics featuring some sort of theme of characters (the grass starters in this case), all with unique gags and reactions to the gags they have on. It was orginally just done to experiment with facial expressions but ended up becoming a series. Like with those, I'll include the description of the thought process on them below:\n\nBulbasaur-So Bulbosaur has a large maw, so had to figure something that would work for that. Well it is Poison type and for a long time was the only duel type starter, so I had the idea to play into that a little and use a purple slime. Think it works, as far as expression goes, I have no idea what gags like those are like but I'm sure they feel weird. So I gave him sort of a puzzled, what the heck sort of look. Think that works too.\nChikorita-Chikorita was similar to Torchic for me, it seemed very happy and peppy and I decided to play into that, giving it a happy expression. However I wanted to deviate from the one Torchic had a little, where Torchic was sort of content happy, Chikorita I wanted to be more akin to playful. Went with a bit, mainly because I like the look of it the most, think it suits the playful sort of expression she has.\nTreecko-I had two initial ideas for Treecko, I felt like Snivy was better for the, nose turned away, snooty sort of look though. So I went with the other one, which was basically an unamused, doesn't care kind of look. Think it suits him. The gag I went with the cleave ball, no particular reason, just the first one I thought of.\nTurtwig-Turtwig I wanted to experiment with the sad puppy dog sort of look, so went with that, think the face works really well for that. Something about the way it's face is designed that lets it pull that off really well. Not really sure how to explain it, just something about it. I went with tape, since I felt that suited the expression the best and was also the least distracting from that element. think that one expression wise turned out the best personally.\nSnivy- Snivy is snooty looking and wanted to depict that, giving him sort of a sore loser, turning away from you kind of look. I actually had a hard time coming up with a gag for it though, as nothing really looked secure, it was a combination of where the mouth is and the size of it. I eventually settled on an OTM wrap around and I think that works and also suits the expression real well. Think that turned out well\nChespin-Well given Cashew gets mad whenever the tables are turned on him, I immediately thought of making him a similar sore loser but more of a upset, angry kind of expression. Think it works and I went with the bright red ball mainly due to contrast. Whether that is Cashew or not... well that's up to you guys, doesn't really matter to me.\nRowlet-Rowlet gave me a lot of trouble for similar reasons to Snivy, it's beak and eyes are set up in such a way that I was never really happy with how it looked, and given it has a beak, that has to be dealt with too. I eventually decided to do a muzzle sort of thing. Little odd admittedly but I think it works fine. Expression wise, I went with a content, relaxed sort of look, he's not really bothered by it. That's the expression Chimchar would have had (if he wasn't all covered up that is).\n\nSo there's that.
