they were amazing places to meet with friends) i found this site. and it got me, isntantly. so many cool artists, so many cool pieces of art. and a place where i could share my freak and talk about it without being chastised or mocked. i had found my home on the web.\n\ni started posting art, feedback began, i met amazing friends, many of them are still there by my side ( yes, i have friends...shocking, i know) some others left and some are just not my friends anymore. it was simple, i posted art, people commented it, they gave me new ideas, teached me new techniques and artists, it was good, it was simple. we were a few, but, we were a happy few (pun kinda intented :) )\n\ntime passed. all was cool. all was easy. and then...furries became mainstream. suddenly, we were popular. furries stopped being that secretive cabal of people that humped dogs and faped to cartoons. we came out to the spotlight. and we became the target of jokes and mockery we have always been since. no youtuber worth his followers can keep a channel without mocking furries at least once, or pretentding to be one, to mock us, while baiting us with their content.\n\nwith mainstream came more people, more and more people interested and attracted to this brotherhood of good people that cares for each other, people that knows what it means to be outcasted, neglected, mocked and insulted. people that will be there for you as much as you will be there for them. unfortunately. what seemd to be a great step forward, became a huge trip into muddy waters. posers and phonies came in, mmxed with those who really wanted to be a part of the community. and no, i am not saying that all new furries are posers, there are amazing furries among the new ones, but, the ammount of posers increased, as much as the number of real furries.\n\nthose posers and phonies brought their toxicity with them. and spreaded it here. I AM NOT SAYING THAT THERE WERE NO FURRY DRAMA OR TOXIC FURRIES IN THE DARK AGES. DEAR GOD, I REMEMBER SOME POPUFURS I WISH I COULD SMACK IN THE FACE EVEN TODAY. but the thing is...we maybe became too big for own good.\n\n\nyears passed, we adapted to the new litters that came. and suddenly, the way the community interacted changed. the toxicity went up. and yes, it went up. back then, things were not as toxic as they are today, sorry,d eal with it. furry dramas were semi private, and solved fastly. sometimes, even by the admins, a ban there, a post deleted there. it was not \"constitutionally correct\"...but it worked.\n\nnow we are many. we are a huge community, furries are acknowledged as a sub culture, like gamers or similar (but, furries will always be more insulted and mocked than gamers...we are the sick sex freaks....but the gamer communities are the ones with more cases of sexual predators among them...just saying..how many furries do you know that have been involved in cases like channel awesome, jewmario, pro jared or similar? and no, i am not generalizing. i am simply mentioning facts.) and the trouble comes there. big numbers always mean big problems. numbers caused the collapse of the roman empire.\n\nam i saying that the furdom is doomed to die?
