Of course even if someone loves another fully and truly, it doesn't mean they make good choices even if it's in the name of that love. \n\nShe doesn't abuse him in the traditional sense, but rather leads him as much as she can as a parent to being such a loser that none of the other kids his age can stand him. It's not that she likes seeing him unhappy or picked on, but it's the best way she can think of to keep him. Whenever the world pushes him she's there to pick him back up. Where everyone else is mean she's nice. Eventually she'll stop and let her son lose some weight (as much as he can with all his bad eating habits he'll have for life) and wear clothes that aren't hideous, and try to fix some of the mannerisms she's secretly taught into him. Of course she won't stop until it's certain he's afraid of bonding with anyone but her. Unfortunately for him such long term psychological sculpting is difficult to maneuver and predict, so he might have to deal with being on the bottom of the social ladder until after high school at least.
