PPS: The costs of medicine in the Wolfe Universe is much, much more expensive than IRL. For a few facts, one being their world just came out of a major war and probably heading into another major war. Two, due to many allowed risks (low age of consent, able to walk around naked in public, etc), healthcare and medicine is higher costs (or something, I don’t know, I’m just making this up. lol) Anyway, yeah, they pay quite a bit more. Also, third, most of the stories are years ahead of our time frame IRL (by years), so inflation and all that.

\t“Akhi, you’re making great strides. You’ve been more open today than ever before,” Amelia said. Akhi smiled but quickly reverted back to a neutral expression. Akhi, now 14 years 9 months and 15 days old, was at one of her therapist appointments, she has an appointment every other weekday for one hour, none on the weekends.
\t“I am however still concerned about one thing. You’re still very concerned and cautious around your father. I have something that I want you to try out, if you agree with it,” Amelia stated.
\t“W-what do you mean, Ms. O’Moore?” Akhi replied, concerned she’s not going to like the answer.
\t“Akhi, please call me Amelia. I’ve never really cared for formal names like that. Anyway, moving on. First, you do NOT have to do this, but I would like to urge you to try it out for three weeks at the minimum. Second, your parents would have to agree and abide by ground rules that you and I set. Third, if you agree to try this, you can stop at any point you feel the need to do so,”
\t“Okay. But what do you want me to do?” Akhi asked.
\t“I want you to be in the house fully nude, no clothing, not even bra or panties. Sleep naked, eat naked, play naked,” she explained. Akhi’s jaw dropped at Amelia’s request. How could her therapist even suggest this? How could she even do this request, it goes against everything she’s put in place of her safety, never being naked around another male at all costs.

\t“I believe that it will help you become more comfortable around your father, to gain more trust with him and in turn possibly have more trust with other males outside of family. \tHer and Amelia talked about this for another fifteen minutes going back and forth about various things. Akhi having had enough therapy for the day went silent. After a few moments of silence between them Akhi looked up and slightly nodded.
\t“Okay, I’ll try but no promises,” Akhi said.
\t“I’m happy to hear that you’ll try it. Let’s call in your parents and talk to them together, shall we?” Amelia replied. Akhi silently nodded.

\tA few hours later the Rosenkrantz family sat down for dinner. Akhi was quiet and only nodded at questions or gave simple yes or no replies. She looked down at her body, no clothing at all, not even a bra. For the past two hours her face was fully red out of embarrassment, uncertainty and fear, which showed. She slowly ate her dinner while trying to remain as small in the chair. She was fine being nude around her mom, they’ve even taken baths together a few times, mainly just to help Akhi calm down after trying days at school. After finishing dinner Akhi stood in front of the sink washing the dishes, which was part of her chores, three times a week. Just as she was getting into a good rhythm a voice broke her concentration, she shrieked dropping the glass from her paw.
\t“Akhi, I’m coming into the kitchen,” her father, Agustin, said from a distance. She spun around and stared at him.
\t“Is that okay?” He asked. She pushed herself against the counter and nodded. She kept her eyes on him the entire time while he filled up his glass with tea.
\t“You doing okay?” He asked.
\t“Y-yes,” she replied, her voice quivering.
\t“You want help with the dishes? There’s quite a lot tonight,” he asked.
\t“Uh,” she stammered then sighed after recalling her therapy session. She relented after nearly a full minute of quiet awkwardness, “sure.” He sat his glass down on the table and headed to the sink. She took a few steps to the side as he neared her.
\tHe picked up a scrub pad and started. Akhi stood there, still in the corner, covering her crotch. She felt her hanging labia against her fingertips. Her labia hung down quite a bit. She grabbed another scrub pad and started working on the dishes again. For the next thirteen minutes the two worked on the dishes in silence. Agustin sat the damp rag over the drying rack, grabbed his tea and headed away.
\t“T-thank you dad,” Akhi said turning her head around to watch him.
\t“No problem Akhi,” he replied with smile then headed into the living room.

\tAkhi silently crept from her bedroom to her parents bedroom. She quietly opened the door and walked in. Following the dim red digital alarm clock numbers on the nightstand she slowly walked up to the bed, to her moms side. She softly shook her mom.
\t“M-mom,” Akhi said quietly, trying to not wake her dad, who had to wake up in four hours.
\t“Mom,” Akhi said again, her voice quivering, tears dropping from her eyes and rolling down her face. Her mom groaned and turned over.
\t“Akhi, what’s wrong hon?” Her mom, Gena, asked with concern.
\t“I had a nightmare. Can I sleep in here please? I’m scared,” she explained doing her best not to burst out crying.
\t“What happened?” Her mom asked half asleep.
\t“Orphanage,” Akhi said.
\t“Aww, sweetheart I’m sorry. Come on, climb in. Try not to wake your father up,” she replied.
\t“Thanks,” Akhi replied and got onto the bed. Her mom pulled the sheets back for her and waited until she crawled over her and let her settled down, then covered them back up. Akhi turned onto her side and faced her mom who caressed her face and wiped tears away.
\t“Want to talk about it?” Her mom asked.
\t“Just what happened at the orphanage,” she said. Gena wrapped her arm-wings around Akhi and pulled her towards her, embracing her in a hug then kissed her forehead.
\t“It was only a nightmare, you’re safe now,”
\t“I know. Thank you mom,” Akhi said just before she yawned. Her moms feathers were warming, comforting and inviting sleep. Within minutes Akhi was asleep in her moms warm feather arms.
\tHours later Akhi woke up to the alarm clock going off and the bed shaking. She groaned and turned over onto her back and looked over. Her dad was standing up from the bed. He turned around and turned the alarm off and noticed her staring at him.
\t“Morning sweetheart,” he said.
\t“Mmmorning dad,” she murmured through her tiredness.
\t“You doing better now?” He asked.
\t“What do you mean?” She asked.
\t“Are you okay from the nightmare last night?”
\t“Oohh, you heard?”
\t“Yeah, I’m a light sleeper but don’t you worry about that. I just want to make sure you’re okay,”
\t“I think so,” she replied.
\t“Good to hear. Go back to sleep okay? I’ll see you and your mom later,” he said. He sat on the bed, leaned over her and kissed her forehead then stood back up. She grabbed the sheets and pulled them tightly against her, not from the kiss but to get comfortable in bed again. She still felt weird and wrong sleeping completely naked, especially when her dad was just a couple of feet away from her. After he left the room she felt her crotch. \tAkhi wiped her tears away while sobbing, tears still flowed down her cheeks. Gena stood up and took a step, but Akhi grabbed her hand. “Please don’t leave me,” she said, her eyes filled with tears and flowing down her face.
\t“I’ll be right back honey, I promise. I’m just going into the kitchen,” Gena said then rushed off quickly.
\tShe returned a few minutes later to check up on Akhi who was a little bit more calm but still crying. Akhi looked up at for a few seconds then looked back down without saying a word. She felt embarrassed about what happened, but didn’t say so, but she didn’t have to, her face said it all. Gena sat down next to her and waited patiently for Akhi to speak first, something that she had learned to do, something that Akhi wanted.
\tTen minutes passed silently, both of them still sitting there. Akhi was breathing heavily while still sobbing. She had leaned against her mom’s arm while they held each others hand.
\t“Excuse me for a moment,” Gena said then headed back into the kitchen. She returned just a minute later with a platter with two cups, a kettle and some tea leaves. She sat it on the coffee table then sat down next to Akhi again. She made up the catnip tea with a tiny amount of peppermint mixed in and handed Akhi a cup, then made a peppermint one for herself.

\t“Thank you,” Akhi said.
\t“You’re welcome,”

\t“The ones that you spoke of a while back?”

\t“I’m sorry that you have to go through this,”

\tAkhi took another sip and sat the cup back onto the platter then leaned against her mom’s shoulder.

\t“I think I should. I don’t think going to school will be good, or help me today,”

\tGena came back to the living room after getting off the phone with the school and sat down.

\t“You want me to walk you back to your bed?”

\tNot even ten minutes later Akhi was laying on the couch asleep, her head resting on her mom’s lap. The catnip helped calm her nerves down and also help her fall asleep often. \tAfter a couple of minutes of talking to Akhi’s mom Vapor agreed. Her and Elli loaded into her car and headed over to Akhi’s house.
\tAfter arriving Vapor spoke to Gena and Agustin more about what was going on, since Elli still couldn't explain well it well in the car from her worrying and freaking out over everything.
\tAs soon as they arrived Akhi rushed out of the house with a suitcase and her school backpack and hopped right into her car. She sat in the backseat next to Elli. Akhi had been crying for hours and had locked herself in the bathroom.
\tAfter Vapor returned to the car she looked into the backseat. Akhi had her head resting on Elli’s shoulders. She had her eyes closed and trying to control her breathing. Tears slowly ran down her cheeks. She looked over at Elli and gave her a smile, who smiled back. She turned around and started the car and headed back home.

\t“You’re welcome Akhi,” both Fang and Vapor replied.
\t“Do you want to call your parents and discuss this over the phone?”
\t“No,” she replied shaking her head, “I’ll talk to them about it tomorrow when I go back home,”

\t“I know and thank you,” she replied then sighed, “I think it’s time that I go back home. It’s been two weeks. I don’t want them to think I hate them,”

\tShe closed her eyes and slowly removed the gown, exposing herself to the doctor. She closed her legs together at her knees instinctively and held the gown to her breasts. After a moment she opened her eyes after the doctor rolled over to her.

I’ve been told it’s no worse than a normal heat cycle,”
\t“Okay,” she replied.
\t“Once I’ve injected all that I can, I’ll remove the spreader then inject the rest to fill your vagina completely full. When I tell you to you’ll need to close your legs and place them together as if your laying down. Okay? You’ll be leaned backwards with your hind-paws upwards so that the silicone doesn’t flow out. All of it has to remain inside of your vagina. After about ten minutes I’ll have to place some of it on the outside so it gets your vaginal opening as well,”

\t“Um…” she said looking away, “No, just finish. Please,” she replied. Gena took a couple of steps away from the doctor and wiped the tears from Akhi’s face.
\t“You’re doing really well Akhi. I’m proud of you,” Gena said then kissed Akhi’s forehead.
\tShe took another moment to comfort Akhi then moved back to the doctor who was started to slowly inject the silicone into Akhi’s vagina once again. This procedure takes ten minutes as the silicone is heated up to just above body temperature before being injected into the vagina. Can’t have it too hot or it would burn the vaginal lining, too cold and it won’t flow, or would cure improperly causing it to have to be redone.
\tAfter another four minutes the doctor took a step back.
\t“Okay Akhi, part one is done. I’m going to remove the spreader and then start part two. You might feel the tube going between your labia and against your virginal ring. Just breath during this time. Your mother is watching my every move intensely,”

\t“The doctor said that could happen, just breathe and try to relax, it’ll help,”

\tEight minutes later, a knock sounded at the door then it opened back up. The doctor stepped back inside. After talking to Gena and Akhi he finished the latex impression then left again for it to fully cure for another ten minutes.
\tAfter some time the doctor returned.
\t“Okay Akhenaten. You’re almost done. Just one last thing to do,” he said.
\t“What’s that?”

\tThe doctor moved the chair back to the normal sitting position then took his position between her legs. “Okay, here I go,” he said, then carefully pushed his highly lubed up fingers into her.

\t“Okay, Akhi, you’re finished. Here’s a towel and wet wipes to clean up. Once you clean up then you can get dressed in your normal clothing.” The doctor stated.
\tGena rubbed Akhi’s head and took the wet wipes from the doctor.
\t“Want help?” Gena asked. Akhi smiled and nodded, still feeling out of it from being turned nearly upside down for half an hour.
\tGena carefully and gently wiped the wet wipes around and inside of Akhi making sure all of the lube was cleaned up. She took the towel and dried her off. After just a couple of minutes she moved away. “All done,” she said.
\tAkhi moved her legs and dropped her hind-paws to the floor. She grabbed her clothing and started dressing. She slipped into her black panties and pulled them up. \t“One and quarter inch would be good, if you want to choose that. All of these are up to you, I can only give recommendations when asked,”

\t“I was going to bring that up next. I honestly recommend, if you want a more virgin like feel and appearance, to do a half inch ring. It’ll stretch out like normal as you have sex, forgive me, I’m sorry. When you use toys or fingers it’ll stretch like normal. However, it will work like normal, when you’re relaxed your opening will be mostly closed, when you get aroused it’ll engorge with blood and open up ready for penetration. You’ll be looking at surgeries and recovery time for at least four months for all of these procedures. If you want them done back-to-back it should take around four and a half months. Or if you want to, you may spread them out over a half year, a year. or longer. In any case, no sex, tampons, or masturbation during those periods of recovery,”
\t“Okay. I just want to get all this done and out of the way,”
\t“That’s completely fine, a lot of people want to get it out of the way as well, so you’re not alone with that train of thoughts,”
\tThey talked for a bit more about other details for all of the surgeries.
\tA bit later, after collecting the thick stack of documents from the consultation, Akhi and Gena left the building and headed towards the car. Gena looked down and watched Akhi walk with her legs apart, kind of like if she was riding a horse, but not as far apart.

\t“The doctor did say that it would hurt for a little bit and that walking would help lessen the time,”
\t“Okay mom,”
\t“You’ll be fine. If it becomes too painful though let me know okay?”
\t“I will,”
\tThey soon made it to the ice cream parlor and headed inside and sat down. They looked at the menu and decided. Rocky Road for Gena and for Akhi, caramel vanilla cheesecake with rainbow sprinkles on top.

\t“Hello Akhenaten. How are you feeling?” The doctor asked.
\t“I’m tired… and, I’m, seeing, dou-ble,” she replied.
\t“You’re still waking up from the…” he said, only stopping because she fell back asleep.
\t“She’ll be in and out of sleep for an hour or two due to the anesthesia,”
\t“Okay,” Gena replied, who was sitting near the bed in the post-operative care unit.
\tA couple of hours later, Akhi was sitting up in bed eating soup. She was answering questions from the doctor while she ate. She had just had her first surgery, Vaginoplasty, it took four hours.
\tAfter Akhi was fully awake, walking by herself, and peeing, she was almost ready to be released. A nurse walked into the room.
\t“Okay Miss Zahra-Rosenkrantz, you’re pretty much ready to be released. Once you’re back home, you’re not to exercise, run, lift anything over ten pounds, no baths, swimming, riding bikes, no sex, no using sexual toys and no tampons. There are other restrictions that are listed in the pamphlet. You’ve already talked about post-surgery care with the doctor, so we have no need to go through that, unless you have any questions?”
\t“None that I can think of,” Akhi replied then yawned.
\t“You’ll want to take her home immediately and have her on bed rest for at least tonight, only getting up to use the bathroom,”
\t“Understood. Thank you,”
\tBack at home Akhi walked into the house, said hi to her dad and headed to her bedroom. She laid down and quickly fell asleep. Gena and Agustin talked about post-care again, just to make sure they were inline with each other.
\tIt took Akhi almost two months to talk herself into starting the surgeries. She was scared that the doctors would rape her while she was unconscious during the surgery. Between Akhi’s parents and Elli talking to her about it and ensuring that she would be fine and that, no, the doctor or nurses won’t molest or rape you, she finally agreed to set up the first surgery.

\tAkhi smiled upon seeing Elli walk into her bedroom carrying a bouquet of flowers, some balloons and a folder. Elli walked up to her and sat the vase on the nightstand then hugged and kissed Akhi. They said their hellos.
\t“You’re looking good,” Elli said.
\t“You sure? I feel like I got kicked down there again,”
\t“I know how that feels. It took a few days for the pain to go away for me,”
\t“Yeah,”
\t“How did it all go?”
\t“Good I guess. I came out alive, so that’s good I suppose,”
\t“It is,” Elli replied with a chuckle.
\t“Ah, you want to sit down?” Akhi asked patting the bed next to her.
\t“Sure,”
\tThe two girls talked to each other for quite a while, talking about random things and gossip.
\tA bit later Elli ah’d, “before I forget,” she said, the handed Akhi the pink folder, “that’s all of the homework for this week that you missed,”
\t“Oh fun,” she replied looking at the more than one inch thick folder.
\t“I guess I should work on it today and throughout the weekend,”
\t“All of our teachers told me to tell you to not rush it and work on them over the next couple of weeks, they won’t take off any points for them being late,”
\t“Well that’s good. At least I might be able to enjoy the weekend,”
\t“It sucks that you’re going to miss trick or treating this year,”
\t“Eh, it’s all good. I’m not all into it that much. Plus I’ve already got my treat,”
\t“Oh? What’s that?” Elli asked curiously.

\tElli giggled and blushed and stammered out a shy thank you, causing Akhi to giggle as well. Akhi managed to lean over enough without hurting herself or causing any pain to place a long kiss on Elli’s lips, who returned the kiss as well. After a moment they settled back down.
\t“I talked to your mom and dad, and if you’re okay with it, I’d like to spend the weekend with you. Help you when you need it,” Elli said.
\t“That’s okay Elli, you don’t have to stay with me. Go and have fun trick or treating,”
\t“I don’t have a costume or anything made. I didn’t plan on going if you weren’t able to. I’d rather spend time with you since we don’t get to much during the school year, you know,”
\t“Alright. It’ll be a nice sleepover, just no sexy stuff though,” Akhi said.

\tThe rest of the weekend went by smoothly for the two. They had fun watching horror movies and screaming at the right times during those movies. After a couple of screams Gena and Agustin ignored their screams of terror. The first two the two parents rushed into her bedroom thinking something horrible happened to them. The girls apologized for it but said it came with the movies. Her parents made the two teenagers a couple of bowls of popcorn and brought them drinks every once in a while. Elli would help Akhi to the bathroom when needed.
\tShowering was a bit of fun trying to not trip over or bump into each other in the small bathtub. Elli had the most difficulty of the two, since she was used to having a shower the size of most peoples bedrooms and even the size of some smaller houses.
\t“You are so beautiful, you know that,” Elli said quietly.
\t“S-stop that,” Akhi replied, looking away blushing.
\t“It’s true,” she replied then kissed Akhi with a long, deep kiss that took both of their breaths away.

\t“Yup, two more to go and many more checkups,”
\t“It’ll all be over soon and you’ll feel so much better, physically and mentally, especially self esteem and confidence in your body. I know it helped me,”

\t“Hello Mrs. Rosenkrantz. I’m sorry to coming by unexpectedly,” Elli said, after walking the few miles from school to Akhi’s house.
\t“It’s okay dear,” Gena replied, “would you like to come in?”
\t“Is Akhi okay to have visitors?”
\t“Of course. I’m sure she would love to see you. This latest surgery was a bit of a tough one for her, so she’s on some pretty heavy painkillers. You can go to her bedroom, dear,”
\t“Thank you,” Elli said, smiling.
\tUpon entering Akhi’s bedroom, she looked around at the walls. Nothing had changed since her last visit. Metal band posters on the lavender painted walls. A desk in the corner stacked with past-due homework, reading materials and more school work and supplies. Her closet door was ajar with a shirt on the ground holding it open. A pair of pants, a shirt and panties laid on the ground at the side of the bed. Elli’s face blushed thinking about her, most likely, naked girlfriend. A dresser sat against the wall on the opposite side of the bed. The wall-mounted 50-inch TV was on, with the volume set to low. A cartoon was playing, an older 1990’s cartoon. It showed a pink dog with a hole in one of his teeth, screaming at some horror that was happening.
\tElli walked over to the bed and looked down at Akhi. Her eyes were closed, her chest — covered with a blanket — was slowly raising and falling with each breath. She stood there silently for a moment until Akhi opened her eyes, then screamed and thrashed for a few seconds at the sudden, silent visitor. It didn’t take long for Gena to rush in to see what happened. By then Akhi had calmed down, and Elli apologizing for not speaking up sooner, saying that she didn’t want to wake or scare her by speaking up.
\tThe two talked about how Akhi was feeling two days after her second surgery, a Labiaplasty. She was happy that this surgery was over and done, and can’t wait for the pain to stop. Ellie assured her that the pain would wane over the next few days to week.
\tElli ‘oofed’ at how bruised and puffy Akhi’s labia was from the surgery, though it was to be expected since it was the Labiaplasty surgery. “Pretty sure mine was just as bad,” she said, reassuring Akhi. “Just take the antibiotics and painkillers, and you’ll be fine.”
\tElli was laying beside her lesbian lover, her finger gently tracing nothing over Akhi’s chest and stomach while they cuddled and talked.
\tSeveral hours later, Agustin came home from work, he checked in on Akhi. The three talked for a few minutes before he left the room. Akhi relaxed a bit, her anxiety and stress was quite low with her dad being in the room, especially with her completely naked underneath the sheet. It helped that Elli was there, but even so, she had felt more comfortable around her dad.

\t“Em hotep, merit-i, Elli,” Akhi said warmly, after Elli walked into her bedroom. Elli sat down a folder on Akhi’s desk then walked over to her.
\tElli blinked. “Are you… okay?” She asked, placing the back of her hand against Akhi’s forehead.
\tAkhi smiled sheepishly. “Right, sorry. That’s Kemet, an ancient Egyptian religion greeting. It means something like ‘Peace to you, my beloved, Elli.’”
\tElli raised an eyebrow, still half-confused. “Okay… and ‘mer-something’ means what, exactly?”
\t“Merit-i,” Akhi repeated carefully, “meh-REET-ee, it’s the feminine form of ‘my beloved.’”
\tElli tilted her head, processing. “Huh. Fancy. So… Kemet?”
\t“It’s the old name for ancient Egypt,” Akhi explained. “And kind of the spiritual side of it, their beliefs, their gods, deities, referred to as the Neteru or the Netjer. I’ve been reading about it. Or trying to, anyway.”
\t“Trying?”
\t“Yeah. Painkillers plus book learning don’t mix well, especially stuff from many thousands of years ago,” Akhi muttered, rubbing her temple with a faint wince. “But I’ve learned a little. Like… Pharaoh Hounds, or at least my feral ancestors, were one of the first dog breeds humans worked with. They show up in tomb paintings, carvings, even statues.”
\t“So you’re basically royalty,” Elli smirked.
\t“Obviously,” Akhi grinned, flicking her tail. “I’m just bidding my time to reclaim my throne.”
\t“And I’ll be there right along with you, uhhh… meh-rit-ee,” Elli replied.
\t“Close,” Akhi said, only to be interrupted.
\tElli tilted her head. “How do you even say that last part then?”
\tAkhi smiled. “It’s easy, just break it into three little sounds. Mer like ‘mermaid,’ it like the word ‘it,’ and then ee, like the letter E.”
\tElli tried it. “Mer-it-ee?”
\t“Perfect,” Akhi beamed. “That’s the feminine version, what you’d say to a girl. To someone you really love.”
\tElli’s ears flushed a deep pink. “So, that’s what I am, huh?”
\tAkhi leaned closer, nose to nose. “Always, my Merit-i,”
\tAlthough Elli couldn’t care less about religion, she was happy that Akhi had found something that could maybe bring her happiness. She sat there listening to Akhi talk about Kemet in more detail, or at least what she’s learned so far.
\tAkhi sat propped up in bed, a pillow tucked behind her back and another one under her knees. She wore an oversized T-shirt she’d “stolen” from Elli a few months back. Everything below her hips felt tender, a deep ache like bruises beneath the skin, manageable but always there and annoying.
\tElli sat beside her on the bed, cross-legged, flipping through a sketchbook full of gods and feathers and stylized eyes. Her tail swished slowly over the comforter. “You’ve really gotten into this Kemet stuff, huh?”
\tAkhi shrugged lightly, careful not to shift too much. “Yeah. I guess I just… needed something to hold onto. I guess? I don’t know, really,”
\tElli looked up. “You weren’t into religion before.”
\t“I know.” Akhi traced her fingers along the edge of her pendant, a little gold and blue scarab hanging from a leather cord. “But this doesn’t feel like religion. Not like the kind that tells you who to be. This is old. Quiet. It doesn’t seems to demand anything from me. Something like that,”
\tElli tilted her head. “Then what does it do?”
\tAkhi paused, thinking. The words didn’t come easy, but they felt true.
\t“It listens. It doesn’t say that I have to do this, or do that, or to get into the good grace of a God.” She shifted, her hand pressing gently near the fresh scar hidden under the soft fabric of the shirt. “When I came home after the last surgery, I felt like a stranger to my own body, I mean, I’ve felt like that since my parents died. And while reading up on Kemet, I read this line, about how even the gods had to be rebuilt sometimes. Torn apart and made new.”
\tElli’s voice was soft now. “Like who?”
\t“Osiris. His body was scattered, and Isis put him back together,”
\tElli was quiet for a moment, eyes flicking back to the sketchbook. She pointed to a half-finished drawing of Ma’at, winged arms stretched wide, a feather over her head. “And she’s the one with balance, right?”
\t“Yeah. She keeps everything from falling apart.”
\t“Feels like you’re doing that too,” Elli said. “Finding your balance again.”
\tAkhi blinked fast. “Trying.”
\tElli’s hand found hers under the blankets. “You know I don’t believe in any of this… gods, magic, afterlife.”
\t“I know,”
\t“But I believe in you,” Elli said, with a smile.
\tThat cracked something open in Akhi, something warm. Something soft.
\tShe squeezed Elli’s hand and whispered, “Thanks. I believe in you too, merit-i, Elli.”

\tAfter leaving the exam room, Akhi and Gena headed back into the waiting room where Agustin had been waiting patiently for them. Akhi smiled and rushed over to him as he stood up. She wrapped her arms around his body and hugged him for a couple of seconds before stepping backwards, realizing what she had just done. It felt nice to hug him without feeling weird or scared, but those feelings quickly came back to her dismay.
\t“Well, that was a very nice hug. Thank you Akhi,” he said.
\t“Yeah,” she replied now embarrassed, “I don’t know why I did that. Sorry.”
\t“It’s okay,” he replied. “It’s a step forward for you. I’d like more of those surprise hugs, whenever you’re feeling up to them.”
\t“Yeah, it did feel nice,” she replied, then against her brain screaming, she hugged him again and didn’t let go for over ten seconds. He hugged her back, his arms softly and loosely around her head.
\tBack in their vehicle, Agustin asked how the checkup went. Akhi explained that the doctor said she was pretty much all healed up, that there was just one stitch left and it would come out on it’s own in the next few days and was nothing to worry about.
\tLater that evening her parents were in the living room starting up a movie. Akhi was in the kitchen watching on the microwave to finish. The smell of buttered popcorn had already filled the house, causing all of their mouths to water. After a couple of minutes, Akhi poured the two bags of popcorn into a bowl and headed into the living room. She sat down and handed over the bowl. She exhaled silently as she could and glanced side-eyed at her dad after he took a handful of popcorn then handed it over to his wife who also took a handful, as the movie started. The popcorn bowl landed back in the middle of them, sitting on her dad’s legs. She reached over and grabbed a handful, then tossed a few into her mouth. She exhaled once again, her brain deciding on a decision. She leaned over and rested her head against her dad’s arm. He glanced at her from the corner of his eye, not moving to keep from startling her.
\tAs the movie continued, Akhi would grab popcorn from the bowl, as did her mom and her dad. She continued resting her head on his arm, only now his arm was comfortably resting against her left side, his feathers giving her comfort. She smiled, telling her brain, her anxiety, that this was fine… for now at least.
\tIn the last half hour of the movie, Agustin looked over to Akhi, she had fallen asleep, peacefully sleeping against his shoulder. He smiled, happy that she trusted him enough to not only lean against him, but to fall asleep as well. In the past, if that happened, she would forcefully keep herself awake, or go to bed before the movie ended. He'd been about to ask her if he could stretch his arm, but didn't move as he saw his daughter fast asleep, smiling slightly. It was the first time she'd felt comfortable enough around him to actually sleep touching him, and it seemed a crime to wake her. He left her there to sleep, he didn’t want to startle her by moving too much, or picking her up.
\tAfter the movie ended, Agustin carefully held her up, scooted from the couch, then laid her down. After a quick discussion with his wife, it was decided. He carefully picked her up and carried her into her bedroom. She was completely passed out from the long day. He laid her down into her bed, pulled the sheets and blanket and covered her up. He kissed her forehead and wished her sweet dreams. A short time later, her mom checked on her, then headed to bed.
\tAkhi had sweet dreams during the night, not even a single nightmare.

\tAkhi continued going to therapy for what she went through in the orphanage. On occasions Elli would join in on the session at the request of Akhi.
\tIt took another year and some months but Akhi was finally feeling secure and safe around her father. She would be in just her undies on rare occasions during the hotter days, and plop down next to her dad and watch a movie together. For that to happen, Elli had suggested wearing a two-piece bathing suit or bikini and just think of it like she’s going swimming, it actually helped quite a bit. When Akhi mentioned this to Ms. O’Moore, she was proud of Akhi for trying it and of course happy that it helped. Ms. O’Moore never mentioned the nude therapy again, but Akhi did bring it up once, about nine months after the incident. They talked about it, and Akhi did say that it helped her feel a little more safe, knowing that her father wouldn’t and didn’t do anything to her during those days. It was the stress, the anxiety and her past that caused the issues afterwards, not really her being naked, although that was a part of it but not the majority of it. They worked it out and it opened up more chat on her past and present issues. Akhi would stick with her prescription medication for many years to come, but would have the doses knocked down by fifty percent over the next few years.
\tAlthough she could never fully, one-hundred percent trust any male, she had a strong and healthy relationship with all of the male members of the Wolfe family. About the only three males she fully trusted, without a doubt, was her father, Fang Wolfe, and Quill Wolfe, although Quill’s size did worry her, she knew that he wouldn’t take crap from anyone, and would protect her at the drop of a hat. The same went with Fang and her, she trusted him, and his and Vapor’s helpful nature she knew she could call at time time for help and they’d be there for her.
\tAkhi and Elli would face their share of ups and downs, the arguments, the apologies, and the makeups. They loved each other more than life itself. They had been through so much together and individually. They had formed a bond through their shared trauma. With hope and love in their hearts, they would carry on, dreaming of a long life spent in each other’s arms.",
