The fourteen year old Pharaoh Hound walked into her adoptive parents living room, well, it was her home and living room now as well. She looked up at her parents then looked down at a semi-rolled folder in her paws, it was her eighth grade math folder.\n\t“Hey Akhenaten, you doing okay?” Her mom asked.\n\t“Yes, but I … Can you help me with math please?” She asked.\n\t“I’m not great at math but your dad is though,” she replied.\n\t“Oh,” she replied then looked over at her dad who smiled at her.\n\t“S-sure. Can you help me?” She finally asked a few seconds later.\n\t“Of course,” he replied.\n\t“Are you almost done with your other homework?” Her mom asked.\n\t“Yes. All I have left is this stupid math,” she replied.\n\t“Akhi, hon, math isn’t stupid. It might be difficult but it’s not stupid,” her mom replied. Akhi nodded silently while she watched her dad stand up from the chair and walked over to her. She took in a deep breath and exhaled after he got within five feet of her.\n\t“You want to do it in your bedroom or-”\n\t“NO! … Uh, kitchen,” she replied and took a few steps backwards. She stared at the floor and took half a dozen quick breaths. Although she didn’t know it, she was visibly shaking. Knowing the signs of her being distressed her father took a few steps backwards himself and walked around her and headed into the kitchen. He sat down at the table which was visible from the living room. After a minute Akhi exhaled and looked up then around trying to find her dad.\n\t“S-sorry,” she said quietly before walking into the kitchen.\n\t“It’s okay Akhi. There’s no need for you to apologize to me for that or anything. What happened wasn’t your fault,” he said as she sat down next to him.\n\n\tMen still scared to her to near death, causing her anxiety and stress levels to skyrocket, even her own dad sometimes. She knew, or at least hoped, that he wouldn’t do anything to harm, rape or abuse her, but the physical, mental and psychological wounds from years of rape and abuse at the orphanage still stuck to her. Her body tensed up as his wing-hand contacted the back of her head and then moved down a few inches to her neck. It was her dad softly caressing her head as reassurance that she was safe, the head rub could help her calm down and anxiety levels to lower most times about four out of five times. She rolled her shoulders then looked over at him. She smiled at him then cleared her throat.\n\t“What did you need help with?” He asked then placed his hands on the table.\n\t“Sci…” she stopped and exhaled, “Scientific Notation,” she said and opened the solid black paper folder. She ran through a dozen pages, finally landing on her homework sheets.\n\t“Ah I see. That type of math is a bit difficult,” he said. He looked over at her and smiled, even though she didn’t see him. “Let’s get started, shall we?” He said.\n\n\tFor the next hour and half her father helped her with the homework, never giving her the answers but guiding her on how to work it out herself and teaching her how to use the TI-85 calculator to check her answers. Akhi sighed and leaned against the back of the kitchen chair and stared at the nearly finished homework, just two more questions remained. She closed her eyes for a moment to try to clear her mind. Her dad’s voice broke the silence then her own shriek. Both her parents and herself jumped, she jumped from the chair and growled.\n\t“I’m sorry Akhi,” her dad said.\n\t“What’s going on?” Her mom asked, who was standing at the stove finishing dinner.\n\t“He patted my leg!” She growled.\n\t“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-” he replied.\n\t“AGUSTIN!” Gena scowled at him.\n\t“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to-” he said, “-scare or upset you Akhi,” he TRIED to say.\n\t“DON’T FUCKING TOUCH ME ASSHOLE!” She scowled then ran off to her bedroom.\n\n\tHer dad sighed as they both heard her bedroom door slam shut. He looked over at Gena. The entire scene happened in less than five seconds, from leg pat to Akhi telling him off. “I really didn’t mean to upset her. I was just about to say that she was going good on her homework,” he explained.\n\t“Let her calm down then go apologize,” she replied, “and for the love of her sanity, don’t touch her leg like that again.”\n\t“Yeah,” he replied then looked over at the folder. \n\n\tHe picked up the homework folder and closed it and walked down the hallway to Akhi’s bedroom.\n\t“Hey, Akhi. I really am sorry. Here’s your homework. I’ll just slide it under your door,” he said. After a few seconds he walked away to leave her to herself.\n\n\t“Elli?” Akhi said quietly over the phone while sobbing, doing her best to not burst out crying.\n\t“Akhi, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Elli asked.\n\t“I don’t know. I just yelled and cursed at my dad,” she said then explained the situation while sobbing. She sat on her bed with her legs pulled to her chest and head rested on her knees, listening to Elli talk to her.\n\n\tHours later, after being called to dinner, Akhi left her bedroom and then slowly peeked around the wall and looked into the kitchen. Her mom looked up and smiled at her then motioned her to join them. She lowered her head and walked slowly into the kitchen and sat down. She grabbed her fork and stabbed it into the steak on the plate and dropped it onto her plate. After getting a few more things her mom spoke up, “you want mashed potatoes too?” She nodded in reply and took hold of bowl after her mom handed it to her. She took out two full spoons of potatoes and sat the bowl back down. She sighed quietly and started eating.\n\n\tAfter another ten minutes Akhi sighed and looked up at her parents. “Dad, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cuss and yell at you,” she said.\n\t“It’s okay Akhi. I shouldn’t have tried to pat you on your leg. I was going to tell you that you were doing a great job,” he replied.\n\t“I’m not in trouble am I?” She asked.\n\t“Well, should you be?” Her mom asked.\n\t“…” she remained silent but softly shook her head no. Her remorseful eyes looked up at her mom then dad then back down to her plate of food.\n\t“No sweetie you’re not in trouble,” her dad replied, “but I am with your mom.”\n\n\tAkhi looked up at her dad then over to mom who nodded, caused her to smile then chuckle a few times. After another apology and reassurance that she wasn’t in trouble, they went back to eating. \n\n\tAfter finishing Akhi and her mom stood at the kitchen sink washing dishes. Half way through Akhi lowered the plate and looked over at her mom. Her mom was golden-yellow all over, other than her arm-wings which were black and her beak-mouth a reddish-orange-pink. Akhi softly chuckled and shook her head.\n\t“What’s so funny?” Gena asked.\n\t“Oh nothing really, just that you and dad are birds and adopted me, a canine,” she replied.\n\t“Nothing wrong with that, is there?”\n\t“No. Not at all. It’s just that feral dogs love to chase and catch birds. It’s weird how we’re so similar to ferals but are so different than they are,” Akhi said while she continued wiping a plate off with a Brillo pad.\n\t“I see. Yeah, I’ve never really understood all of that but I have thought about it myself when I was younger,” Gena said.\n\t“Mom, how old are you? I’ve never asked,”\n\t“I’m 41 and your dad is 45,”\n\t“You don’t look that old,”\n\t“I’ll take that as a compliment,”\n\t“Ah, I didn’t mean anything bad by that,”\n\t“I know you didn’t hon,”\n\t“Mom, could Elli spend the weekend with us?” Akhi asked, after debating it for the past few hours since getting home from school.\n\t“Sure, as long as your dad says it’s okay as well,”\n\t“Oh, okay,” Akhi replied then went silent and scrubbed the bowl she was holding.\n\t“Your dad really didn’t mean to upset you like he did. He’s just used to patting my leg like that, it’s something he does often and doesn’t even notice he’s doing it. Don’t hold that against him okay?”\n\t“I know he didn’t. It was just… I don’t know… it brought back a memory from when the first guy… you know. He placed his hand on my leg and patted me before pushing me to the bed and holding me down then forcing himself into me. It happened a lot after that first time as well,” Akhi explained.\n\t“I see. I hate and am saddened that you had to go through that. You’ll never have to deal with that here,”\n\t“Thanks mom. I should go ask dad. Elli’s waiting for my answer,”\n\t“Okay hon. Go on and ask your dad. I’ll finish the rest of the dishes,”\n\t“Thanks mom. Love you,” Akhi said then hugged her.\n\n***\n\n\tAn hour later Elli stepped into the house and smiled up at Akhi’s father.\n\t“Hello Mr. Rosenkrantz,” \n\t“Hello Elli. Come on in, Akhi will be out in a moment,”\n\t“Thanks,” she replied and stepped in. Elli was holding a small bag with some spare clothes and necessities.\n\n\tElli sat down in the living room and waited for a bit while talking to Agustin and Gena. Finally, after nearly five minutes Akhi walked into the living room. She sat down next to Elli and both smiled at each other. After another couple of minutes Elli and Akhi stepped into her bedroom. Elli walked around the small bedroom, it was her first time at Akhi’s house, being inside it anyway. After a few seconds she looked behind her and smiled at her girlfriend.\n\t“It’s nothing like your room,” Akhi said.\n\t“Size doesn’t matter,” Elli replied. She turned back around and looked down at the desk. On top was a folder with a sheet of paper on it. Elli’s face crunched up trying to read it.\n\t“Hey Akhi? What is this? Your full name?” Elli asked. Akhi walked over and looked down at the copy of her adoption papers.\n\t“Ah yeah, it is,” she replied.\n\t“How do you say it? I’ve never heard or seen your middle name before,”\n\t“It’s Akhenaten Arbasutanifu Zahra-Rosenkrantz,” she replied.\n\t“You know, once we get married, if you take my last name, it could have another dash for your last name,” Elli replied then chuckled.\n\t“Ah yeah, maybe. Or you could take my last name, Elli Hazel Metayer Wolfe-Zahra-Rosenkrantz,” she replied and burst out laughing.\n\t“Ah man… Our names,” she said.\n\t“Right?” Elli replied and chuckled. After a moment she cleared her eyes from tears of laughter.\n\t“Akhi, are you okay now?”\n\t“Yeah, I am. Dad and I talked about what happened. He promised he’d do his best to not touch my leg or anything like that. He had only good intentions,” she replied.\n\t“Good to hear,” Elli replied then sat down on the twin XL sized bed.\n\t“You think my bed is big enough for the both of us?” Akhi asked sitting down next to Elli.\n\t“Yeah, you’ll just have to cuddle-spoon me all night,” she replied and smiled. Akhi giggled and looked at her beautiful and exotic girlfriend. She leaned in and kissed Elli’s lips, her paws caressing her slender body, Elli’s upper waist. The pair of them lowered down to the bed as Akhi moved to stand up, standing between Elli’s legs. Elli grabbed her paws and interlocked their fingers and moved their arms above her head while Akhi rubbed their clothed crotches together. She let out a soft moan then lifted out of the kiss and rested her forehead against Elli’s.\n\t“As much as I’d like to continue this, we can’t, family game night starts in about ten minutes,” Akhi said.\n\t“I suppose that you can’t skip it huh?” Elli asked, still humping her hips against Akhi’s leg.\n\t“Mmmm, n-no. It’s always the second and last Friday of each month,” she explained then began kissing Elli’s neck.\n\t“Ah okaaaa… okay,” Elli replied holding back a moan as she continued getting wet. Akhi let out a breath of air as she lifted up then stared at her mate. A few lip kisses later she pulled Elli upwards.\n\t“I’m sorry,” Akhi said.\n\t“It’s okay. Family game night sounds fun. What game is being played?”\n\t“Ah, I think tonight it’s Monopoly,” she replied as she rubbed her legs together.\n\t“Never played the game. Your parents won’t mind if I watch you guys play will they?”\n\t“Elli, you are family. You’ll be playing with us, if you want to,”\n\t“Oh okay, sure!” She replied and smiled.\n\n\tA bit later the four were sitting around the coffee table in the living room with the Monopoly game board all setup and the game already in progress. For the time being it’s been a relatively fun game without any arguments. Elli currently sat in jail and was just waiting for her turn to finally pay and be free.\n\n\tAn hour passed as the game continued, everyone having fun, laughing and just enjoying the Friday evening. Everyone had their moments of annoyance but so far no major fighting or arguing. Elli stood up and stretched her body out, sitting on the floor around the coffee table was starting to take its toll on her since she’s not used to sitting for so long.\n\t“Excuse me,” Elli said then left the living room and headed to the bathroom. She returned a few minutes later, “anyone want something to drink?” Elli asked. Gena and Agustin said no, already having grabbed drinks while Elli was taking a restroom break.\n\t“I’ll take some more tea,” Akhi said.\n\t“Fridge right?” Elli asked.\n\t“Of course,” Akhi replied.\n\n\tAfter getting tea for her and Akhi she returned and the game resumed. Ten minutes later and a few rounds passed.\n\n\t“Back to jail Fuzz Butt!” Akhi said grinning.\n\t“Akhi! That’s not nice to say,” her mother said.\n\t“No, it’s alright Mrs. Rosenkrantz. It’s my, uh, nickname,” Elli said blushing brightly while moving her battleship piece around the board and back into jail. Elli eyeballed Akhi from the corner of her eye then looked back at the game board.\n\t“Oh… Okay,” Gena replied.\n\n\tAfter another two hours the game was over with Gena winning and Akhi coming in a close second then Elli then Agustin. Akhi stood up stretched and yawned. Agustin looked over at the two girls.\n\t“You going to take a bath tonight Akhi?” He asked.\n\t“Hmm, I really should. I had PE today,” Akhi replied.\n\t“Okay. I think your mom and I are going to stay up and watch a movie. You two enjoy the rest of the night,”\n\t“Okay. See you two later. Love you both,” Akhi replied.\n\n\tElli followed Akhi into the bedroom where they grabbed their clothes and then headed into the bathroom. As soon as they entered Elli shut the door and started to lock the door.\n\t“No, don’t lock it. Mom and dad doesn’t want it locked just in case of an emergency or if something happens to me,” Akhi said.\n\t“Ah okay,” she replied then unlocked the door, “but the door stays closed, right?”\n\t“Of course,” she replied while plugging the tub and started running the water.\n\n\tThe two girls sat in the tub with Elli in front of and in between Akhi’s legs. Akhi ran her fingers through Elli’s shampooed hair. Elli exhaled, her eyes closed, feeling her girlfriends claws gently scrape against her scalp.\n\t“You okay Fuzz Butt?” Akhi asked.\n\t“Ah, please don’t call me that in front of our parents. That embarrassed me, and yeah, I’m fine,”\n\t“I’m sorry about that. I honestly didn’t mean to, I was just really into the game at the moment,”\n\t“It’s okay,” Elli said then leaned against Akhi’s chest. She moved her body and settled herself against Akhi, her head resting between Akhi’s smallish B-sized breasts. “Easy please,” Akhi said. “Of course,” Elli replied interlocking their fingers together. She wrapped their arms around her stomach and rested their paws on her belly.\n\t“Uh, something you trying to tell me?” Akhi asked.\n\t“Huh? What?” Elli asked highly confused.\n\t“Should I be feeling for kicks or something?” Akhi asked.\n\t“Oh!” Elli gasped finally understanding, “no, of course not. I’m not pregnant. Just wanted to hold paws and rest for a bit.”\n\t“I know,” Akhi replied with a chuckle then rested her head against Elli’s then yawned.\n\t“As much as I hate to say it, we should probably get out, dried off and get in bed before I pass out,” Akhi said a few minutes later.\n\t“Yeah I guess we should,” Elli replied then stood up. She bent over and pulled the drain plug. \tMen still scared to her to near death, causing her anxiety and stress levels to skyrocket, even her own dad sometimes. Akhi sighed and leaned against the back of the kitchen chair and stared at the nearly finished homework, just two more questions remained. She closed her eyes for a moment to try to clear her mind. Her dad’s voice broke the silence then her own shriek. Both her parents and herself jumped, she jumped from the chair and growled.
\t“I’m sorry Akhi,” her dad said.
\t“What’s going on?” Her mom asked, who was standing at the stove finishing dinner.
\t“He patted my leg!” She growled.

\t“AGUSTIN!” Gena scowled at him.

\tHer dad sighed as they both heard her bedroom door slam shut. He looked over at Gena. The entire scene happened in less than five seconds, from leg pat to Akhi telling him off. “I really didn’t mean to upset her. I was just about to say that she was going good on her homework,” he explained.
\t“Let her calm down then go apologize,” she replied, “and for the love of her sanity, don’t touch her leg like that again.”
\t“Yeah,” he replied then looked over at the folder.

\tHe picked up the homework folder and closed it and walked down the hallway to Akhi’s bedroom.
\t“Hey, Akhi. I really am sorry. Here’s your homework. I’ll just slide it under your door,” he said. After a few seconds he walked away to leave her to herself.

\t“Elli?” Akhi said quietly over the phone while sobbing, doing her best to not burst out crying.
\t“Akhi, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Elli asked.
\t“I don’t know. I just yelled and cursed at my dad,” she said then explained the situation while sobbing. She sat on her bed with her legs pulled to her chest and head rested on her knees, listening to Elli talk to her.

\tHours later, after being called to dinner, Akhi left her bedroom and then slowly peeked around the wall and looked into the kitchen. Her mom looked up and smiled at her then motioned her to join them. She lowered her head and walked slowly into the kitchen and sat down. She grabbed her fork and stabbed it into the steak on the plate and dropped it onto her plate. After getting a few more things her mom spoke up, “you want mashed potatoes too?” She nodded in reply and took hold of bowl after her mom handed it to her. She took out two full spoons of potatoes and sat the bowl back down. She sighed quietly and started eating.

\tAfter another ten minutes Akhi sighed and looked up at her parents. “Dad, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to cuss and yell at you,” she said.
\t“It’s okay Akhi. I shouldn’t have tried to pat you on your leg. I was going to tell you that you were doing a great job,” he replied.
\t“I’m not in trouble am I?” She asked.
\t“Well, should you be?” Her mom asked.
\t“…” she remained silent but softly shook her head no. Her remorseful eyes looked up at her mom then dad then back down to her plate of food.
\t“No sweetie you’re not in trouble,” her dad replied, “but I am with your mom.”

\tAkhi looked up at her dad then over to mom who nodded, caused her to smile then chuckle a few times. After another apology and reassurance that she wasn’t in trouble, they went back to eating.

\tAfter finishing Akhi and her mom stood at the kitchen sink washing dishes. Half way through Akhi lowered the plate and looked over at her mom. \t“Oh okay, sure!” She replied and smiled.

\tA bit later the four were sitting around the coffee table in the living room with the Monopoly game board all setup and the game already in progress. \tAfter getting tea for her and Akhi she returned and the game resumed. Ten minutes later and a few rounds passed.

\tAfter another two hours the game was over with Gena winning and Akhi coming in a close second then Elli then Agustin. Akhi stood up stretched and yawned. Agustin looked over at the two girls.
\t“You going to take a bath tonight Akhi?” He asked.
\t“Hmm, I really should. I had PE today,” Akhi replied.
\t“Okay. I think your mom and I are going to stay up and watch a movie. You two enjoy the rest of the night,”

\t“Elli, what do you think?” Akhi asked after turning around. The two girls were in Claire’s at the mall in Orion City after Akhi’s mom dropped them off to hangout.

\t“I don’t know. Maybe,” Elli replied and looked back at the glass counter that held lots of different styles of earrings and other types of jewelry.

\tHalf an hour later the two girls walked out of Claire’s and headed down the corridor to another store that Elli wanted to visit. After looking at the products Elli called for a store attendant. She pointed at and asked to see two small gold earrings.

\t“Great choice madam,” the jewelry profession said, “these are 14k Yellow Gold 6mm ball stud earrings,” he added while he pulled them out from the glass case.

\t“You may only hold them to your ear, you’re not permitted to wear them,” he replied.
\t“That’s fine,” Elli replied with a smile. He handed her one of the small stud earrings and carefully watched her movements. After holding it up to her ear and looking in the mirror she handed it back. He took a soft cloth and wiped it down then placed it back into the red velvet case.
\t“May I know the price?” Elli asked while Akhi walked a few feet away and looked at some other earrings.
\t“These are four-hundred dollars madam,” he replied.
\t“Ah, I see. Thank you sir,” she replied with a smile then walked over to Akhi. After leaving the store the two sat down on a bench outside of the store.
\t“There’s no way I’m paying that much for earrings. Even if I wanted to I don’t have the money for them. I don’t like the ones in Claire’s so those are out,”
\t“Elli, do I have to remind you that you live with the wealthiest family in like five-hundred miles? I’m more than sure your parents wouldn’t mind you buying them if you really wanted them. I saw the look in your eyes after you looked at them in the mirror. You want those,” Akhi said.
\t“Still, I don’t feel right asking for money though,”
\t“I understand, but if you don’t get proper rings, those cheap ones you got will turn your ears green, they’re fake gold, just copper studs to be used temporarily,” Akhi replied. Elli nodded and let out a quiet sigh of defeat.

Any purchase of two-hundred dollar or higher earrings you can get another set, these here, for just fifty dollars, usual price is two-hundred dollars,” he stated and pulled out another box and opened it. “These are 1/10 carat diamond total weight and sterling silver,” he added.
\t“Just fifty dollars? Why so cheap?”
\t“These are stock that have not sold on their own. We want to get rid of the stock for newer stock, madam,” he replied.
\t“Okay, I guess I’ll take those as well,” she replied.
\t“Are there other specials?” Akhi asked, just as the jewelry professional began to reach for another box.
\t“Yes there are madam, two more, if you’re interested,” he replied.
\t“Careful Elli, they’re upselling to you. They’re all good prices I’m sure, but you can go overboard quickly,” Akhi whispered into her ear. Elli nodded in reply.

\tA bit later the two girls walked out of the jewelry store and headed to other stores. Elli was content with the two round stud earrings she had purchased, even though she thought they were far too expensive. She had also purchased all three of the specials. A 1/4 Carat Diamond Circle Pendant Sterling Silver necklace for $60 and a 1/10 carat Diamond Crescent Sterling Silver Moon and 14k Gold Star pendant necklace for $50. After another phone call to her dad and explaining what she was buying, he transferred another four-hundred dollars into her account. She paid a total of $601.66 for all of the pieces of jewelry.

\t“You don’t have to give it to me,”
\t“It’s fine. I have a large jewelry box for all of my earrings. Had to ask mom and dad for a larger one after my last purchase,” she explained.
\t“How many do you have?” Elli asked.
\t“Uh, something like fifty different earrings. All of my earrings are under fifty dollars, usually ten to thirty dollars each, except for four sets which mom bought me as an adoption gift. She never said how much they were, but I know they were over two-hundred dollars each,” she explained.
\t“Ah. Okay. Thank you Akhi,” she replied.
\t“Remember, you’ll want to clean your holes several times a day until they heal up. Keep the rings in until they do or they’ll close,” Akhi said.
\t“I remember what she told me,” she replied.
\t“Okay. I don’t want you getting an infection from it,”
\t“I’ll be fine Akhi,”
\t“Okay,”
