He decided to let it go and have him finish it in the morning.\n\n***\n\nFriday August 25, 2028\n\n\tFang softly shook Onai who finally stirred awake the following morning.\n\t“Waa-at?” Onai mumbled out with his eyes still closed.\n\t“Time to finish cleaning your bedroom buddy,” Fang said. Onai sat up and rubbed his eyes while yawning. He looked at his clock four AM.\n\t“Dad, it too early,” he said and laid back down rolling onto his side.\n\t“You’ll wake up at this time every morning in military school,” Fang stated.\n\n\tThis jarred Onai to his core and sat back up almost instantly. Onai pulled the covers off him and slipped out of bed and stood there swaying side to side in his still sleep state. \n\t“Okay dad, I’ll fin…” Onai fell forwards only for his dad to catch him. Onai shook his head and looked up at his dad.\n\t“Come on, I’ll help you,” Fang said then smiled. The two of them worked for the next half hour cleaning up the rest of the bedroom and bathroom.\n\t“Now then, doesn’t this feel like a better place to sleep in?” Fang said placing his arm around Onai.\n\t“I guess. Can I go back to sleep now?” Onai asked.\n\t“Ooh no. Come on, we got more chores to start,” Fang stated.\n\n\tOnai sighed and let out a quiet growl. They headed downstairs, had a quick breakfast and then started working in the yard. Cleaning out the storm drain system, cleaning up the playhouse, the storage building, picking up some toys that were scattered around, raking leaves, mowing the grass and then raking up the grass clippings. Over two hours into it Onai looked over at the pond, he held the rake in his paw and walked over to it walking out onto the dock. A little bit later Fang looked up to see him standing on the dock, staring out at the small island in the middle of the pond. He stopped pushing the mower and walked over to his son.\n\t“Come on Onai, let’s finish,” Fang stated standing beside him.\n\t“I’m tired and ready to go back inside and sleep,” Onai replied.\n\t“Onai, this is part of your punishment for the way you acted. Do you think that you can just up and quit stuff that you don’t like once you become an adult and start working?” Fang stated.\n\t“What? I’ll never have to work dad. Our family is rich. Hell even my grandcubs will never have to work,” Onai stated. Fang turned him around to face him and squatted down.\n\t“Onai. I do NOT ever want you speaking or thinking like that again. Yes, we’re rich, but it doesn’t make us better than anyone else. In fact it should make us better furs and help others out more than we help ourselves. Do you understand?” Fang lectured.\n\t“Yeah,” Onai replied then walked off the dock and started dragging the rake back across the ground. The sun was already starting to beat down, being just past seven AM now.\n\n\tAn hour later Lin walked outside to see Fang and Onai doing the yard work. He looked over at Onai to see him slowly and lazily dragging the rake across the ground behind him while he walked in a straight line from one point to another. He sat his cup of tea down and walked over to the open storage building. He saw a rake and grabbed it. He walked up to Onai and started helping. Onai looked over at him, slightly confused but smiled at the panda.\n\n\tAn hour later Fang put the mower up and smiled at the sight of Lin still helping without being asked. He walked up to the two with a rake in paw. He finished helping them rake up the grass clippings and leaves and stuffing the stuff into bags.\n\n\tAfter another two hours, after cleaning the storm drain system out, they all carried bags to the side of the road for garbage pick up and then walked back into the house, now just past eleven AM.\n\n\t“Are we done?” Onai accosted. Fang sighed but nodded his head. Onai turned and headed upstairs while Fang and Lin stood there watching. Fang placed his arm around Lin’s shoulders and walked into the kitchen together. He handed Lin a bottle of water and then sat down.\n\n\t“Thank you for helping Lin. You didn’t have to though. That was a punishment for Onai. But I won’t stop you from doing so in the future if you wish to help out. You might have helped teach Onai a lesson by you helping out without being asked,” Fang said.\n\t“I rive here. I need help to at times, yes?” Lin asked\n\t“Yes, I suppose so. Thank you Lin,” Fang stated and patted Lin on his shoulder.\n\n\tVapor walked into the kitchen and sniffed at the air.\n\t“Oh god Fang you stink. Shower now,” She said and covered her nose.\n\t“Yes mother!” Fang replied with smile. Willow walked up behind him and kissed the top of his head. “Don’t get me involved in this sweetie,” she said and then poured another cup of coffee. Fang stood up and walked over to Vapor and kissed her. He smiled and took her paw and whispered into her ear. Vapor giggled and they left the room quickly in silence. Willow looked back over to Lin and sat down next to him.\n\n\t“How are you liking it here so far?” Willow asked.\n\t“I rike it,” Lin replied.\n\t“Are you doing okay? Feeling okay? You miss being home with family?” Willow asked.\n\t“I fine. I miss famiry but I fine. Fang and Vapor and Raika and Luna and Onai. Lin looked up at her and thought for a moment.\n\t“I will work on Engrish today, I not forget,” Lin replied.\n\t“Okay. Get Laika to help you again if you need it. She seems to enjoy helping you,” Willow said.\n\t“Shi, I mean yes. Raika help me lots. She ask me to help she rearn Chinese,” Lin said.\n\t“Laika wants to learn Chinese?” Willow asked.\n\t“S… yes,” Lin replied.\n\t“Hmm… Okay. You can continue doing that. It might help you learn English while doing so, since you have to translate from English to Chinese and the reverse,” Willow stated.\n\t“Engrish is hard to understand. It hard to say words right. I mean, like searl, is fish but it is window too and stop water reaking,” Lin explained and looked highly confused.\n\t“Hold on Lin, I’ll be right back. Stay here,” Willow said and then left the kitchen. She returned a couple of minutes later with a pencil and a stack of blank papers. She called Lin over to the dining room table and they both sat down. On the piece of paper Willow drew three things. A seal, a window sill and a pipe with water leaking out with a roll of tape next to it. She handed Lin the pencil.\n\t“Write down the name of each just under the drawing. He thought for a moment then wrote his answers down. “Seal, seal, seal,” he looked over at Willow. She crossed out the window “seal” and wrote “sill” and then explained the difference to him.\n\n\tThey sat there for the next four hours while Willow helped him with some of the stuff he didn’t understand. She started to correct him more and more on his verbal language and pronunciation while he was speaking. And the most important thing, taught him to write correctly for America, left to right, instead of right to left. After another hour he started fidgeting in his seat. He was uncomfortable.\n\t“Willow. I. I’m sorry. Bathroom? Please?” He asked frantically clutching his crotch.\n\t“Go!” Willow replied. She chuckled as he quickly rushed out of the dining room and into the bathroom. Vapor chuckled after he left.\n\t“He’s been fidgeting for over two hours now. He must have been holding it all this time,” Willow said.\n\t“He sits so still and straight. Stiff as a board. I don’t see how he does it,” Vapor replied.\n\t“Because they are taught to deal with their issues and not move in school over there. They can get into a lot of trouble if they do. Hard manual labor as punishment. I honestly wasn’t surprised to see Lin out there helping Onai and Fang this morning,” Willow explained.\n\n\tA couple of minutes later Lin walked back in. He quickly stood back up and waited with his arms beside his body.\n\t“Do not ever wait to go to the restroom, here or at school or anywhere. If you have to go, excuse yourself then go. They had picked up the tuxedo on their way, rented it for a few hours. While they were being seated both were getting looks from other guests. Lin didn’t know anything on the menu so he asked Vapor to choose for him. He took his first bite and looked up at Vapor after swallowing it. She smiled, “everything okay?” she asked.\n\t“It. Taste good. Rearry good,” Lin stated and then took another bite.\n\n\tThey sat there in silence while eating. Lin dropped his fork multiple times. Each time garnering the attention of others around them. He smiled nervously at them each time but then finally spoke up. “I. I sorry. I’m used to chop stick not folk,” he explained. They smiled and went back to their own meals.\n\n\tAfter the two of them finished, Vapor paid, then they walked out of the restaurant. Lin stopped in front of the car and looked up at Vapor. He looked out of the window at all the tall buildings and neon signs of bars and dance halls, businesses and hundreds of other buildings. She eventually passed under the interstate highway and pulled into the mall parking lot. While they were driving around Vapor thought to herself that Lin had only brought clothing, a few pictures and books, his laptop and a few other things. He had nothing else. After parking they got out and stood at the back of the car. “Come on, hold my paw. You need to get some skinship. After just a few minutes he stopped dead in his tracks and stared at a few sets. He picked up one of the larger boxes and looked at it. It was a Chinese temple with a large dragon. He picked up another set and it was a traditional style snake. He sat them down and then picked up a third set, the largest of them. It was a section of the Great Wall of China, this set was modular, meaning you could add more and more sections to it, making it longer.. After a moment he sat it down and silently looked over at Vapor. She could sense he wanted to ask for them. But with his tradition and training of not asking for anything he just couldn’t do it. She smiled and placed her paw on his cheek and rubbed his muzzle. “You want those Lin?” She asked. He looked back at them for a moment and then back to Vapor and slowly nodded in silence. “Well then, get the ones you want silly,” she replied with a giggle. He gave a big toothy smile and took the three sets in his arms.\n\t“If you want this set, get a few more to build more onto it,” she suggested.\n\t“It lot of money?” He asked.\n\t“Yes but that’s okay. These sets are better when you have multiple to put together,” she said and picked up five more boxes of the Great Wall of China set. They walked up to the counter and paid for the building blocks. They left the store and continued to walk around. Vapor was teaching and telling him about the various stores and what they sold. After going to a few more stores and Americanizing Lin’s clothing options they left the mall, paws filled with bags.\n\n\tVapor pulled up to a red light and looked across underneath the overpass and had a horrible memory flood her brain.\n\t“Lin, you see that place over there? Just past the highway,” she said without looking away from the gang ridden area.\n\t“Shi… I mean yes,” Lin replied.\n\t“You are to NEVER go there. No matter what, you stay away from there. This is the closest that you should ever be to it. It’s a very bad place. Filled with gangs, drugs and worse. They shoot and kill each other there everyday, all day. Do you understand me Lin?” She asked as the car behind her started blaring their horn. She looked up and saw the light was green. She shifted into first gear and took off.\n\t“Yes. I stay away. Promise,” he replied.\n\t“Good,” she exhaled. “Fang and I had made that mistake one day and we ended up in the middle of that hell hole. We called Willow scared and crying trying to explain what happened. She called the police, who showed up with the SWAT team, uh, highly trained police officers. They had to come in and save us. While they were saving us, we were being shot at. It was a full out war zone during those two minutes while they were pulling us out of a dumpster and pushing us into their vehicle,” Vapor recalled.\n\t“Yes, I will not go there. I … am … I-I’m happy you saved,” he replied.\n\t“Yeah me too,” she replied. She pulled onto the highway and began their hour and half long drive back home.\n\n\tVapor and Lin walked into the house and down into the living room. Lin was carrying the near one dozen bags from various stores. He sat them down and to the surprise of everyone hugged Vapor.\n\n\t“Thank you Vapor. I had lot of fun,” he said and then took the bags and headed upstairs. She sat down next to Fang and kissed him.\n\t“Sounds like he had fun,” Fang said. Vapor looked over at Luna holding Skyler.\n\t“Yeah he did. We both did,” she replied.\n\t“Do I have to worry about you two?” Fang asked with a chuckle.\n\t“Maybe. After dinner we headed to a hotel, had sex, he knocked me up and then we headed to the mall,” she replied with a smile.\n\t“That’s okay,” Fang replied and kissed her.\n\t“Mooooom!!!” Luna said in disgust.\n\t“I’m kidding,” Vapor said laughing at them all.\n\n\tA few minutes later Lin walked back into the living room and up to Vapor.\n\t“You need anything Lin?” Vapor asked.\n\t“No. Thank you for clothes and MEGO,” he said and then left the room again.\n\t“He’s too nice,” Vapor said.\n\t“At least he didn’t kiss you,” Fang said. \t“Lin!” Laika said as she rushed up to him on the August Saturday morning. He had his face buried in a book in the library. He looked up at the smiling preteen wolf in front of him. She was wearing a thin, nearly transparent, white dress that showed off the figures of her body, her small budding breasts breaking the flatness coming up from her stomach. \t“Study now?” Lin asked blushing even more brightly trying to change the subject.
\t“If you’re not busy, I would like to,” Laika replied.

\tLin closed the book and sat it to the side of a stack of books. He stood up and followed Laika out of the room and upstairs to his bedroom. After a few minutes he changed the computer back over to Chinese and hooked up the keyboard. He began teaching her more basics of the Chinese language, while she taught him more English. Both of them teaching each other their own language as they went through hours of reading materials.

\t“Okay everyone, school starts on Monday, next week. Remember our rules. No sex at school. Do your homework and classwork. Don’t fail classes. If you fail to do any of those you will be punished. You all know this. Lin, these rules apply to you as well. Everyone understand?” Fang stated.
\t“Yes,” they all replied.
\t“Tib, Katia, this is your last year in high school. Try to have a fun time and not fail,” Willow said.
\t“Yes mom,” both replied.
\t“Onai, Luna and Todd, all of you help Lin at school until he learns were everything is, the schedule and, you know, just help him,” Vapor stated.
\t“Okay,” the three replied.
\t“Bella. We need your decision. Do you want us to adopt you? We need to know now or you will be placed in foster care next week. You will not be able to see your brother or us again. Or at least not until after you turn eighteen,” Vapor stated. Bella looked up at Vapor and then to her brother. She thought for a short moment and then smiled.
\t“Yes. I don’t want to be taken away from brother or you,” Bella replied.
\t“Good to hear. We’ll get the paperwork finalized,” Vapor replied. She walked over and kissed Bella on the head. “I know it was a tough decision and I hate that you had to choose,” Vapor said.
\t“Not hard de-de-deci… Brother is my brother,” Bella replied.
\t“You are too cute,” Vapor replied with a chuckle.
\t“Okay family meeting is done, good luck this year,” Vapor said.
\t“LUNA AND TODD!” Fang spoke and slammed his paw on the table hard. It sounded out loudly causing most everyone to jump.
\t“Y-Yes?” Both replied warily and half scared.
\t“If I hear that one or both of you are skipping classes, I’ll wake you both up at 0500 for military drills and calisthenics. That includes jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups, flutter kicks, squats, swimmers and a dozen more, ending with a five mile run. Every. Single. Day.  DO YOU UNDERSTAND?” Fang said, all too loud, almost shouting at the two. A military command shout. Deafening. Resounding. Scary.
\t“Y-Yes s-sir,” both replied.
\t“I mean it, do not skip OR ELSE,” Fang said and then glared over at Onai who had already started walking away.
\t“ONAI,” Fang spoke loudly again.
\t“What?” Onai sighed and stopped walking.
\t“I want your room cleaned before bedtime tonight,” Fang commanded.
\t“Yeah. Sure dad whatever,” Onai replied then walked away throwing his right arm up into the air beside his head.

\tFang sighed and looked over at Vapor and Willow. “I’m going to go make a phone call,” Fang said and then headed towards the backdoor pulling out his cell phone. He returned a bit later and said that he was going into the city and would be back later taking Elli with him to drive him. They drove to the military base in Orion city.

\t“I love this uniform mom,” Luna said walking into the living room. The new school uniform had a white polo undershirt, a blue blazer, white ankle socks, shoes and a skirt. \t“Because I did, but that’s none of your business. Now go and change out of that. Please,” Vapor replied.
\t“Okay mom,” she replied and left. Vapor looked over at the others in the room.
\t“Have you all tried your uniforms to make sure they fit?” Vapor asked, with Katia replying with a “yes” other than Todd.
\t“What’s wrong Todd?” Vapor asked.
\t“I don’t want to wear that. It’s not my style,” he said and opened his arms out showing of his clothing, punk style with flaps and chains from the belt loops to other metal loops.
\t“Too bad Todd. The state passed a school uniform law, stating that all schools must have and use school uniforms. Get used to it. Now go and see if they fit and make sure your sister’s uniform fits her as well,” Vapor replied. He groaned and rolled his head to his right shoulder.
