I need to see you in my office please.” Willow said out loud as the residents of the orphanage walked out of classes for the day.\n\t“Am I in trouble?\" She asked walking up to her.\n\t“Just come to the office please.” Willow replied sternly.\n\n\tElli lowered her head and walked down the hallway. She could hear others whispering her name and snickering. Willow followed her down the stairs then into the office. Elli stood at the desk with a book and spiral notebook with a pen in the metal spiral, in her paws. Willow asked her to sit.\n\n\t“I don't know what I did to get in trouble, but I'm sorry Ms. Wolfe.\" Elli looked up her with tears starting to well.\n\t“You're not in trouble per se, but you kind of are though.” Willow replied sitting down behind the desk. She pulled out a folder and opened it. She moved her eye's back and forth as she read down a piece of paper. After a minute she sat the folder down and looked up at Elli.\n\n\t“Elli. I can't have you hugging Fang like you have been any more. It's not appropriate. I’m sorry.” Willow said to her.\n\t“Oh. Okay.” Elli said looking down.\n\t“It’s just not fair to the other residents. You get hugs from Fang often, but he can’t give everyone hugs. You understand?” Willow explained.\n\t“Yes Ms. Wolfe.” Elli replied.\n\t“Thank you Elli. You may go now.” Willow replied.\n\n\tElli stood up and left the office and headed down the hallway. She was headed to the auditorium but decided to sit in the dining room to have a quiet place to think. She laid her head down on the table with her paws in her lap. She was trying to calm her breathing from getting in trouble, but her whimpers were heard. The table bumped and a paw laid on her back. She looked up and saw Fang sitting there. He smiled down at her. She had tears running down her face.\n\n\t“What’s wrong Elli?” He asked.\n\t“It’s nothing.” She replied with a forced smile. Fang rose his paw up and wiped tears from her face.\n\t“Something is going on. You can tell me.” He replied.\n\t“I don’t know.” She replied.\n\t“Sounds like you need a hug.” He replied.\n\t“I. I’m not allowed to hug you anymore.” She replied as more tears started to drop.\n\t“By who?” Fang asked.\n\t“Ms. Wolfe.” She replied.\n\t“Oh? Is that so?” Fang replied. “Come on. Let’s go have a talk with my mom. You’ll be okay, I promise.” He said standing up. She smiled and did as told. He squatted down and picked her up and give her a hug. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged back. He walked out of the dining room and down the hall to the office. “Don’t say anything unless you’ve been told to speak, okay?” Fang said to her. She nodded still hugging him. He opened the door and walked in to the office. Willow was sitting at the desk while Vapor stood at her side, both of them looking over a few papers. Willow looked up at the sudden intrusion. Elli turned her head and looked at her. Fang could feel her rapid breathing and her heart as it started beating faster and faster.\n\n\t“I just told you that you weren’t allowed to hug Fang anymore Elli.” Willow said.\n\t“Don’t say anything Elli.” Fang said sternly. She tightened her grip around his body and buried her face into his neck, scared of repercussions and punishment from Ms. Wolfe.\n\t“What right do you have to tell my DAUGHTER that she can’t hug me, her FATHER?” Fang said then smiled.\n\n\tElli perked up at his comment and looked at him. “Daughter?” She could only say. Fang smiled and pulled her away from him and sat her in the chair. He squatted down next to her and looked at her.\n\n\t“If you want me and Vapor as parents, you could be our daughter. All you have to do is say yes.” Fang said. “We’ve been working on this for a long time in secret.” He explained.\n\n\t“You’d adopt me? I could leave here?” She asked excitedly, standing up in the chair while her tail waggling uncontrollably.\n\t“We’d be happy to adopt you Elli.” Vapor said walking over to her.\n\t“Ms. Wolfe?” Elli asked looking over the desk at her.\n\t“It’s up to you Elli. You can say yes or no. This is a decision that you have to make on your own.” Willow replied with smile.\n\t“But you said I couldn’t hug Fang anymore.” Elli replied.\n\t“That was all part of the plan that Fang came up with, Elli. But yes, it’s true, we can’t have you always hugging Fang like you do if you stay here and remain as a resident. As I said before its not fair to the others.” Willow replied.\n\t“Whatever your decision is, we’ll understand. We’ll give you time to think about it. Go and play with your friends.” Fang said patting her head.\n\t“I want you as my daddy, Fang.” Elli said almost instantly as Fang finished his sentence.\n\t“You sure? It’s something that’s not easy to reverse.” Vapor said.\n\t“I’m sure. I like you too Vapor. You helped me through a few things.” Elli said sitting back down in the chair.\n\t“Well that settles it then. Go and play with your friends. Let us do paperwork.” Willow said.\n\n\tElli jumped towards Fang and hugged him then ran over to Vapor and hugged her as well. She rushed out of the room and ran down the hallway and out onto the playground where most everyone was playing.\n\t“I’M ADOPTED!!! I’M ADOPTED!!!” Elli screamed out loudly and cheerfully. All the residents outside looked at her. They all walked up to her and congratulated her. She hugged a few of her closest friends.\n\n\t“You sure you two want to adopt her?” Willow asked looking back and forth between them.\n\t“And break her heart and trust after going through all of that just now? Yeah, we’re sure.” Fang replied.\n\t“Okay. You both know the procedures. So let’s get started.” Willow replied pulling Elli’s file out of the locked folder storage cabinet.\n\n***\n\nFriday September 1, 2023\n\n\t“WHOA!!! This is your house?” Elli exclaimed as she looked up at the tall ceilings and the balcony overlook of the second floor.\n\t“It’s your house too now.” Fang replied stepping up behind her.\n\t“It’s so large in here. It’s nothing like the orphanage.” Elli said, her eyes wide as she walked around the first floor.\n\t“Want to see your bedroom?” Fang asked.\n\t“Yes Fang.” She replied looking up and smiling at him.\n\t“That’s DAD to you now.” Vapor said to her coming back from the bathroom.\n\t“Ah right. Dad. Mom.” Elli said and wiped tears from her face.\n\n\tFang picked her up and put her on his back then headed up to the second floor. At the top, he sat her down and took her paw. He walked out of the stairs and across the hallway. Elli stopped and grabbed the balusters of the overlook and looked down. She exhaled and looked behind her. Both Vapor and Fang patiently waited. After a few more seconds she walked back to them. They continued walked for a short distance. Fang opened a door in the far corner, on the opposite side of the media room door. The room still faintly smelled of fresh paint. The walls were painted to her favorite colors. Deep Sea Blue for the main color, pink at the bottom and neon lime green on the crown molding on the ceiling. She walked in with her muzzle open. She walked around the bedroom and looked at the furniture. Fang and Vapor stood near the door while she walked around. She climbed on the bed and started crying. “You okay Elli?” Vapor asked, walking up to her. She nodded her head still crying and wiping tears away. Vapor picked her up and hugged her, she wrapped her arms around Vapor’s neck and hugged back. After a few minutes she pulled back and sniffled. “I have a mommy and daddy. I have a bedroom. A house. Brothers and sisters. I’m not sad. I’m happy.” She said between sniffles and trying not to start crying again. The rare and exotic Kinkajou’s body was full of emotion, her tail wagged happily, her ears perked up and moved back and forth. Vapor sat her on the bed and sat down beside her. Fang had squatted down in front of her, smiling at her.\n\n\t“You want some time to think about everything?” Fang asked.\n\t“I don’t know. It’s a lot.” She replied as she fidgeted and moving her hips side to side.\n\t“Where’s the bathroom?” She asked.\n\t“It’s right here.” Fang said standing up. He walked over and opened the door in the bedroom to her own bathroom.\n\t“I get my own bathroom?” She asked sliding off the bed.\n\t“Yes.” Both Vapor and Fang replied. She walked in and shut the door. She returned a little over a minute later after flushing the toilet. Fang picked her up and hugged and kissed her, before sitting her on the bed.\n\t“We have some rules. So listen up.” He said to her.\n\n\tAfter a bit Fang and Vapor left the bedroom and headed across the house to the other cubs rooms. They let them know that Elli was home and to help her when she needed it.\n\n\tAt the dining room table Elli sat at the table looking at the food licking her lips, almost drooling. Fang, Vapor, Quill and others were waiting for Luna to come down. After she finally showed up, they dug in. Elli filled her plate full and started stuffing her face. Until now, she could only eat so much at the orphanage, there was no seconds there. Everyone watched as she put more and more food away. After everyone was finished, she was still eating.\n\t“Easy Elli. You don’t want to get sick.” Fang said. She looked up at him and then everyone.\n\t“This is so good though! I can’t stop eating!” Elli exclaimed. Fang laughed as she put more food into her mouth. After almost five more minutes she leaned back in the seat and exhaled.\n\t“I don’t think I could eat anymore tonight. That was good!” Elli replied.\n\t“Aww. What a shame.” Willow said standing up and heading into the kitchen. She returned a few seconds later carrying a cake. “I guess I can just throw this cake away. Your ‘Welcome to the Family’ cake.” Willow said with a smile.\n\t“I think I can eat a piece of it Ms. Wolfe.” Elli replied.\n\t“You don’t have to call me Ms. Wolfe anymore, Willow or grandma is fine.” Willow replied cutting into the cake and passing out the pieces.\n\t“Okay Ms. … uh Willow? Grandma?” Elli said uneasily.\n\t“You’ll get used to it pretty fast,” Willow said and smiled at her.\n\n\tNearly two hours after dinner and her party, Fang carried Elli upstairs. She had fallen asleep shortly after opening her gifts. Vapor pulled the sheets back and Fang laid her into her bed. He covered her up and stepped back. She buried her head into the soft pillow and balled up into the comfortable bed. Vapor and Fang walked out of the room and shut the door.\n\n***\n\nSaturday September 2, 2023\n\n\t“Fang… I mean dad.” Elli said pushing on his arm. Fang and Vapor was in bed sleeping. He sat up and looked at the clock, it showed a bit past three AM. He rubbed his eyes and looked down at Elli. It was her first night in her new house with her new family. \n\t“What’s wrong Elli?” Fang asked.\n\t“I woke up from some noise. I heard it through vents or something. I got scared and ran up here. Can I sleep with you and Vap… mom?” She explained.\n\t“Sure for tonight.” Fang said lifting her up. She crawled to the middle and he pulled the covers back and waited for her to get under the sheets. They both soon fell asleep.\n\n\tLater that morning Fang and Vapor walked downstairs and into the dining room to see Elli sitting at the table staring intensely at nothing.\n\t“You okay Elli?” Vapor asked.\n\t“Yeah. Just waiting for food.” She replied.\n\t“You know you can just get food yourself. Cereal and milk, waffles are heated in the toaster, breakfast pastries. Pretty much anything.” Vapor replied.\n\t“We don’t have to wait for food to be made and brought out to us?” She asked looking at her new parents.\n\t“No. You’re free to get food yourself. Unless it has to be cooked on the stove or in the oven. Anything for the microwave or toaster is okay.” Fang replied.\n\t“Oh okay.” She replied with a smile. She jumped down from the chair and rushed into the kitchen. She looked in the fridge for a minute then turned around. Fang had started the coffee maker while Vapor opened a cabinet for the cups.\n\t“What can I eat? I’ve never had to choose food for myself.” She asked. Fang walked over and opened the freezer and looked in it. \n\t“Hmm. Nothing good in here in my opinion.” He said then opened the fridge. After a few moments he looked down at Elli.\n\t“How about I cook you and me some scrambled eggs and bacon?” He asked. She smiled big and nodded excitedly. She rushed back to the table and sat down and began her wait. Vapor walked over to the table with a cup of coffee and sat down.\n\t“How long you been awake?” She asked.\n\t“Almost two hours I think.” Elli replied.\n\t“Please say you didn’t sit down here waiting for all that time.” Vapor asked.\n\t“No of course not. I was awake for maybe thirty minutes while I laid between you and dad. Then I got up because I had to pee. After that I came down and waited. I sat in the living room for a little bit then came in here.” Elli replied.\n\t“You watched TV?” Vapor asked.\n\t“No. I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on.” Elli replied looking over at Vapor.\n\t“We’ll get you caught up on technology sweetie.” Fang said sitting a plate down in front of Elli and Vapor.\n\t“I guess mom was really tired and hasn’t woken up yet.” Fang said sitting down. The three of them ate the breakfast together. Elli savoring each bite, much slower than the previous night.\n\n\tThroughout the day Elli was extremely active. She was exploring the house. She walked into every room and looked around. She was in the media room staring silently at the gigantic TV that would mounted to the wall. Onai walked in wanting to play a video game. He stopped after seeing her.\n\t“Hi Elli,” he said walking up to her. She slowly stepped backwards away from him. Her paws slowly came up in front of her. Her face had fear written all over it. Onai was confused about this, he looked behind him to see if there was something behind them, maybe a monster or something. But there was nothing there, other than the black walls.\n\t“Are you okay Elli?” He asked. She shook her head and ran. She ran around the chairs and out of the door. He stood there for a moment in shock really unsure what happened. He left the room and headed downstairs. He stepped into the living room, his mom and dad was sitting there along with Tib and Katia.\n\t“Hey dad. Elli just ran out of the media room when I walked in. She look really scared. She backed away and put her paws up in front of her before running out of the media room,” he explained.\n\t“She did the same with me. She was in our bedroom when I came out of the bathroom. She didn’t say anything. She fled faster than I’ve seen anyone run,” Tib said.\n\t“Ah, we should have warned you boys. She’s scared of males. We won’t tell you why for her privacy. Give her some space and time, she’ll warm up to you two. Try to have one of the girls with you if you want to talk to her. Okay?” Vapor explained.\n\n***\n\nTuesday September 5, 2023\n\n\t“Ahhhhhhh!!” Elli screamed running down the stairs. Fang rushed up to the stairs to see what she was screaming about. Before he could get on the stairs, she jumped into his arms crying. It was a bit past midnight. “What’s wrong Elli?” Fang asked holding and rubbing her back.\n\t“There's a monster or something in my room. I hear it every night since I been here.” Elli said through sobs and cries.\n\t“There are no monsters in this house.” Fang assured her. She shook her head while her body trembled in his arms, her entire body shook him.\n\t“Come on let’s get you back in bed. It was only a nightmare.” Fang said. \n\t“No!” Elli cried out. “It wasn’t a nightmare.” Vapor walked down the stairs to see what the yelling was.\n\t“It goes [b]VRRRRRRR[/b] then makes angry growls. It’s a monster.” Elli cried trying to explain. Vapor walked up to the two and was told what was going on.\n\t“Come on. Let's see if I can hear this noise.” Fang said.\n\t“No. I’m not going back in that room. I wanna sleep with you and mom again.” she said still crying and trembling.\n\t“You’re a big girl. You don’t need to be sleeping with us every night sweetie.” Vapor said rubbing Elli’s head.\n\t“Tell you what. I’ll sleep with you in the room tonight and see if I can hear this monster. He followed the sound to a corner of the room, near the bathroom door.\n\t“Hmm.” Fang said. He opened the hidden passage to the amazement of Elli. She hadn't been told about the secret passages in the house, no less in her room.\n\t“Wrap your legs around my waist and hold on tight, okay?” Fang said to her. She tightened her grip on him and did as told. He crawled into the passage and followed it down to a long ladder. The monster growls was getting louder. After climbing down a couple of ladders and lots of long passages, they stood in the hidden safe room. He pressed a couple of keys on a keypad and the door opened up. He stepped out and they could hear the roar of machinery and the sound of the monster. He nervously laughed and rubbed Elli’s head.\n\t“Here’s your monster Elli. It’s the pump for our water system. I guess its about to fail.” He said. He walked over to the power panel and pulled the power handle down. A loud ka-thunk sounded out as the handle landed at the bottom of the power panel and the pump slowly whirred to a stop. The [b]VRRRRRRR[/b] sound faded away slowly. \n\t“Slayed the monster as promised, my fair princess.” He said to Elli. She looked around in the darkness, not able to see much of anything other than even darker shadows. Fang made his way out of the basement to the stairs and into the main house. He pulled Elli off of him and sat her on the kitchen counter. She still trembled from the monster and their adventure. He smiled and wiped the tears from her eyes and face. He turned towards the freezer and opened it. After a moment he turned around and in his paws was an ice cream bucket.\n\t“How does a late night snack sound?” He asked.\n\t“Sh. Sounds good.” She replied quietly.\n\n\tHe pulled a couple of bowls out and put in a couple of scoops in each. He turned around and told Elli to get on his back. He walked into the living room and sat on the couch. She moved off his back and sat down. He handed her a bowl and he sat down next to her. They sat there watching a late night movie and eating ice cream together. Both of them laughing at the comedy movie. After finishing the ice cream Fang laid down and fell asleep with Elli, already asleep, in his embrace.\n\n***\n\nWednesday September 6, 2023\n\n\tThe next morning they were woken up by Willow. “What are you two sleeping down here for?” Willow asked confused.\n\t“We were slaying monsters during the night. Had to treat my savior with ice cream.” Fang said winking at Elli causing her to giggle.\n\t“Fang. I know you were asleep, but try to mind where your paws are at.” Willow warned. He tilted his head confused.\n\t“Why don't you head upstairs and brush your teeth Elli. We had that ice cream last night.” Fang said to Elli. She nodded and hugged him then rushed upstairs.\n\t“What do you mean mom?” Fang asked.\n\t“Your paw was between her legs resting on her crotch. You know what she went through. Anyway he killed the monster. Some big circle thing. A pump he said I think. Then we had ice cream after and fell asleep on the couch together.” Elli explained their adventure last night.\n\t“Aww. I’m glad you’re safe and dad too. He’s a good dad.” Onai replied with Luna agreeing. Onai walked up and hugged her tightly. Elli tensed up but relaxed, seeing a warm friendly smile on Luna’s face.\n\t“It’s nice to have a little brother and sister!” Elli said returning Onai’s hug.\n\t“You’re pretty nice too,” Luna replied.\n\n\t“It was the water pump. It’s dying so I turned it off. Until we get it replaced the water pressure will be low.” Fang told Willow and Vapor. “I’ll call for it to be replaced later.” He added.\n\t“So you went on an adventure. Then had a late night snack. After a bit they got everyone into the car and dropped them off at school. Elli wasn’t enrolled yet, she would start the next school year. Until then she would continue learning at the orphanage. Why is Katia and Tib naked?” Elli asked as Fang and Vapor sat outside in the backyard.\n\t“We allow you cubs to be naked if you want. But you can only do it in the house or out in the backyard but not in the front yard.” Fang explained. Elli sat down at the table and looked at them and smiled.\n\t“What?” Vapor asked with a chuckle.\n\t“Nothing. Just happy to not be in the orphanage anymore. Those three will fight to protect you. You shouldn’t worry about them. Okay? The three of them have asked why you’re scared of them, running out of rooms. We haven’t told them why, as it’s not really our place to do so. You can if you want to. But I promise you they won’t do anything bad to you. Okay?” Fang said. Elli looked at him for a moment, as if he was crazy. She sighed and nodded her head.\n\t“Okay,” she replied.\n\t“Good girl,” he replied.\n\n\tShe got up and kissed them and rushed back into the house. But that didn’t stop many from playing out inside in the snow for a short time. The pool was fully covered with a top on it. It supports thousands of pounds and the weight of the snow. It was a nice option for the main pool section that was flush to the backyard ground. After eating cake and before gifts, Onai, Luna and many of their friends were outside playing. They were running around and throwing snow at each other. Elli stood on the porch next to her dad and watch everyone play. She was unsure if she’d like it. Fang looked down at her when she took his arm and hugged. He smiled and squatted down.\n\t“Go play Elli. You’ll be okay. He sat down on the stairs and picked up a pawful of snow and balled it up.\n\t“See Onai over there? It was until Ms. Wol, Willow, took over,” Elli replied.\n\t“How was it bad?” Mao asked.\n\t“The headmistress was bad. Evil. We barely got food. Rarely got showers. Slept on basically cardboard. But after a few minutes she turned back over and looked at Mao.\n\t“Why did you follow me?” Elli asked.\n\t“I was just worried I guess. Wanted to make sure you were okay,” she replied.\n\t“Thanks,” Elli replied. Mao scooted closer to Elli and placed her paw on her face then smiled. She gave Elli a soft kiss then smiled sitting up. Elli sat up looking at her then slapped her. Mao sat there holding her cheek, stunned.\n\t“I. I’m Sorry. You both had all of us scared,” Vapor said to the two as they sat up and rubbed their eyes.\n\t“I couldn’t sleep on the floor mom,” Elli said.\n\t“And you Mao?” Vapor asked crossing her arms.\n\t“I saw Elli get up and leave. I followed to make sure she was okay,” Mao replied.\n\t“We told you girls to stay on the first floor. But I’m glad you two are safe. Get up. Breakfast will be started soon. I have to let Willow and Fang know you two are safe,” Vapor said and left the room.\n\n\t“Thanks for letting me sleep here Elli,” she said.\n\t“Yeah. No problem,” Elli replied. The both headed downstairs after using the bathroom. Over the next few hours parents picked up all of the friends of Onai and Luna and now Elli. Elli hugged Mao and said bye as she walked out with her parents. Elli walked into the living room and sat down next to her mom. Vapor ran her paw down the back of Elli’s head and smiled at her after she looked at her.\n\t“You have fun yesterday?” Vapor asked.\n\t“Yeah I did,” she replied and smiled.\n\t“Good to hear that you did. But Elli, you should have obeyed us about staying on the first floor. You could have slept on the couch,” Vapor said.\n\t“I’m sorry mom. I just wanted something soft to lay on and I didn’t think about the couch. The floor was reminding me of the orphanage before Willow took over,” she explained.\n\t“I won’t punish you this time, but next time you will be punished. Okay?” Vapor said.\n\t“Okay. Thanks mom,” Elli replied and smiled. She laid her head against Vapor’s arm as they watched some Christmas cartoons.\n\n***\n\nMonday December 25, 2023\n\n\t“WAKE UP! SANTA WAS HERE!” Elli exclaimed jumping up on the bed in Onai and Luna’s bedroom. “Get out!” Luna scowled and turned over to try to fall back asleep. She frowned, jumped off the bed and rushed out. She rushed into Fang and Vapor’s bedroom who were not amused at being woken up at three AM. “Elli. Calm down. We know it’s your first Christmas with us. But it is way too early. Come up here and lay back down.” Fang said sitting up in the bed. She lowered her head and did as told. She walked up to the bed and started to climb up. Fang picked her up and flew her over head and sat her down in the middle of them. She crawled up against him and closed her eyes.\n\n\tA few hours later Fang gently shook Elli to wake her up. She sat up and yawned then looked around.\n\t“How did I get in your bed?” She asked.\n\t“Nevermind that for now. Santa was here, if you remember.” Fang replied.\n\t“OH YEAH!” She exclaimed and jumped up and off the bed. She rushed out of the room and down the stairs. The floor around the Christmas tree was packed full of gifts. She impatiently waited as everyone slowly funneled down the stairs. To Elli’s sorrow, they ate breakfast first and then waited for Quill to arrive. A bit over an hour after waking up, everyone sat around surrounded by their dozens gifts. As they’ve done in the past, Willow, Vapor and Fang had the youngest open gift’s first and go from there. It didn’t take Laika too long to open her gifts. Elli sat there impatiently waiting for Fang and Vapor to allow her to tear into hers. With an “okay Elli” from Vapor, she started tearing into her gifts. Toys, books, games and clothing. It only took her a few minutes to rip through the near two dozen gifts. She smiled and thanked her mom, dad, grandma, Quill and others for the gifts. She watched silently as the others opened their gifts, while she played with a few toys that she had received.\n\n\tAfter everyone had finished opening gifts they sat around playing and talking with each other. Elli sat quietly on the floor near the fireplace. She watched everyone talking, playing or watching a near silent TV. \n\t“You okay Elli?” Fang asked after a while. She smiled and nodded.\n\t“Yeah.” She replied.\n\t“You seem quiet. Are you sure you’re okay?” Fang asked again.\n\t“Yeah. I’m just happy to have a real Christmas. A real family. Real brother’s and sisters. Real mom and dad and grandma. Happy to be a family,” She explained. She stood up and ran over to Fang and hugged and kissed him and did the same with Vapor. \n\t“Willow, thank you for going through all the pain to get the state and whatever to allow Fang and Vapor to adopt me. I overheard you tell mom and dad how hard it was to do because they were so young.” She said hugging Willow tightly. “Even if I hadn’t gotten any presents from any of you or Santa, I’d still be happy. Happy just to be your family, your daughter, your sister,” Elli said and started crying. After a few seconds, she let go of Willow and ran around hugging everyone. Onai, Luna, Laika, Pepper, Shade, Katia, Tib, Quill, Willow, Fang and Vapor. They all returned her unconditional love back.\n\n\tLater that evening they all stood in front of the tall 14-foot Christmas tree, with the fireplace to the right. In front of everyone was a camera. \t“Elli Metayer. I need to see you in my office please.” Willow said out loud as the residents of the orphanage walked out of classes for the day.
\t“Am I in trouble?" She asked walking up to her.
\t“Just come to the office please.” Willow replied sternly.

\tElli lowered her head and walked down the hallway. She could hear others whispering her name and snickering. Willow followed her down the stairs then into the office. Elli stood at the desk with a book and spiral notebook with a pen in the metal spiral, in her paws. Willow asked her to sit.

\t“I don't know what I did to get in trouble, but I'm sorry Ms. Wolfe." Elli looked up her with tears starting to well.
\t“You're not in trouble per se, but you kind of are though.” Willow replied sitting down behind the desk. She pulled out a folder and opened it. She moved her eye's back and forth as she read down a piece of paper. After a minute she sat the folder down and looked up at Elli.

\t“Elli. I can't have you hugging Fang like you have been any more. It's not appropriate. I’m sorry.” Willow said to her.
\t“Oh. Okay.” Elli said looking down.
\t“It’s just not fair to the other residents. You get hugs from Fang often, but he can’t give everyone hugs. You understand?” Willow explained.
\t“Yes Ms. Wolfe.” Elli replied.
\t“Thank you Elli. You may go now.” Willow replied.

\tElli stood up and left the office and headed down the hallway. She was headed to the auditorium but decided to sit in the dining room to have a quiet place to think. She laid her head down on the table with her paws in her lap. She was trying to calm her breathing from getting in trouble, but her whimpers were heard. The table bumped and a paw laid on her back. She looked up and saw Fang sitting there. He smiled down at her. She had tears running down her face.

\t“What’s wrong Elli?” He asked.
\t“It’s nothing.” She replied with a forced smile. Fang rose his paw up and wiped tears from her face.
\t“Something is going on. You can tell me.” He replied.
\t“I don’t know.” She replied.
\t“Sounds like you need a hug.” He replied.
\t“I. I’m not allowed to hug you anymore.” She replied as more tears started to drop.
\t“By who?” Fang asked.
\t“Ms. Wolfe.” She replied.
\t“Oh? Is that so?” Fang replied. “Come on. Let’s go have a talk with my mom. You’ll be okay, I promise.” He said standing up. She smiled and did as told. He squatted down and picked her up and give her a hug. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged back. He walked out of the dining room and down the hall to the office. “Don’t say anything unless you’ve been told to speak, okay?” Fang said to her. She nodded still hugging him. He opened the door and walked in to the office. Willow was sitting at the desk while Vapor stood at her side, both of them looking over a few papers. Willow looked up at the sudden intrusion. Elli turned her head and looked at her. Fang could feel her rapid breathing and her heart as it started beating faster and faster.

\t“I just told you that you weren’t allowed to hug Fang anymore Elli.” Willow said.
\t“Don’t say anything Elli.” Fang said sternly. She tightened her grip around his body and buried her face into his neck, scared of repercussions and punishment from Ms. Wolfe.
\t“What right do you have to tell my DAUGHTER that she can’t hug me, her FATHER?” Fang said then smiled.

\tElli perked up at his comment and looked at him. “Daughter?” She could only say. Fang smiled and pulled her away from him and sat her in the chair. He squatted down next to her and looked at her.

\t“If you want me and Vapor as parents, you could be our daughter. All you have to do is say yes.” Fang said. “We’ve been working on this for a long time in secret.” He explained.

\t“You’d adopt me? I could leave here?” She asked excitedly, standing up in the chair while her tail waggling uncontrollably.
\t“We’d be happy to adopt you Elli.” Vapor said walking over to her.
\t“Ms. Wolfe?” Elli asked looking over the desk at her.
\t“It’s up to you Elli. You can say yes or no. This is a decision that you have to make on your own.” Willow replied with smile.
\t“But you said I couldn’t hug Fang anymore.” Elli replied.
\t“That was all part of the plan that Fang came up with, Elli. But yes, it’s true, we can’t have you always hugging Fang like you do if you stay here and remain as a resident. As I said before its not fair to the others.” Willow replied.
\t“Whatever your decision is, we’ll understand. We’ll give you time to think about it. Go and play with your friends.” Fang said patting her head.
\t“I want you as my daddy, Fang.” Elli said almost instantly as Fang finished his sentence.
\t“You sure? It’s something that’s not easy to reverse.” Vapor said.
\t“I’m sure. I like you too Vapor. You helped me through a few things.” Elli said sitting back down in the chair.
\t“Well that settles it then. Go and play with your friends. Let us do paperwork.” Willow said.

\tElli jumped towards Fang and hugged him then ran over to Vapor and hugged her as well. She rushed out of the room and ran down the hallway and out onto the playground where most everyone was playing.
\t“I’M ADOPTED!!! I’M ADOPTED!!!” Elli screamed out loudly and cheerfully. All the residents outside looked at her. They all walked up to her and congratulated her. She hugged a few of her closest friends.

\t“You sure you two want to adopt her?” Willow asked looking back and forth between them.
\t“And break her heart and trust after going through all of that just now? Yeah, we’re sure.” Fang replied.
\t“Okay. You both know the procedures. So let’s get started.” Willow replied pulling Elli’s file out of the locked folder storage cabinet.

\t“WHOA!!! This is your house?” Elli exclaimed as she looked up at the tall ceilings and the balcony overlook of the second floor.
\t“It’s your house too now.” Fang replied stepping up behind her.
\t“It’s so large in here. It’s nothing like the orphanage.” Elli said, her eyes wide as she walked around the first floor.
\t“Want to see your bedroom?” Fang asked.
\t“Yes Fang.” She replied looking up and smiling at him.
\t“That’s DAD to you now.” Vapor said to her coming back from the bathroom.
\t“Ah right. Dad. Mom.” Elli said and wiped tears from her face.

\tFang picked her up and put her on his back then headed up to the second floor. At the top, he sat her down and took her paw. He walked out of the stairs and across the hallway. Elli stopped and grabbed the balusters of the overlook and looked down. She exhaled and looked behind her. Both Vapor and Fang patiently waited. After a few more seconds she walked back to them. They continued walked for a short distance. Fang opened a door in the far corner, on the opposite side of the media room door. The room still faintly smelled of fresh paint. The walls were painted to her favorite colors. Deep Sea Blue for the main color, pink at the bottom and neon lime green on the crown molding on the ceiling. She walked in with her muzzle open. She walked around the bedroom and looked at the furniture. Fang and Vapor stood near the door while she walked around. She climbed on the bed and started crying. “You okay Elli?” Vapor asked, walking up to her. She nodded her head still crying and wiping tears away. Vapor picked her up and hugged her, she wrapped her arms around Vapor’s neck and hugged back. After a few minutes she pulled back and sniffled. “I have a mommy and daddy. I have a bedroom. A house. Brothers and sisters. I’m not sad. I’m happy.” She said between sniffles and trying not to start crying again. The rare and exotic Kinkajou’s body was full of emotion, her tail wagged happily, her ears perked up and moved back and forth. Vapor sat her on the bed and sat down beside her. Fang had squatted down in front of her, smiling at her.

\t“You want some time to think about everything?” Fang asked.
\t“I don’t know. It’s a lot.” She replied as she fidgeted and moving her hips side to side.
\t“Where’s the bathroom?” She asked.
\t“It’s right here.” Fang said standing up. He walked over and opened the door in the bedroom to her own bathroom.
\t“I get my own bathroom?” She asked sliding off the bed.
\t“Yes.” Both Vapor and Fang replied. She walked in and shut the door. She returned a little over a minute later after flushing the toilet. Fang picked her up and hugged and kissed her, before sitting her on the bed.
\t“We have some rules. So listen up.” He said to her.

\tAfter a bit Fang and Vapor left the bedroom and headed across the house to the other cubs rooms. They let them know that Elli was home and to help her when she needed it.

\tAt the dining room table Elli sat at the table looking at the food licking her lips, almost drooling. Fang, Vapor, Quill and others were waiting for Luna to come down. After she finally showed up, they dug in. Elli filled her plate full and started stuffing her face. Until now, she could only eat so much at the orphanage, there was no seconds there. Everyone watched as she put more and more food away. After everyone was finished, she was still eating.
\t“Easy Elli. You don’t want to get sick.” Fang said. She looked up at him and then everyone.
\t“This is so good though! I can’t stop eating!” Elli exclaimed. Fang laughed as she put more food into her mouth. After almost five more minutes she leaned back in the seat and exhaled.
\t“I don’t think I could eat anymore tonight. That was good!” Elli replied.
\t“Aww. What a shame.” Willow said standing up and heading into the kitchen. She returned a few seconds later carrying a cake. “I guess I can just throw this cake away. Your ‘Welcome to the Family’ cake.” Willow said with a smile.
\t“I think I can eat a piece of it Ms. Wolfe.” Elli replied.
\t“You don’t have to call me Ms. Wolfe anymore, Willow or grandma is fine.” Willow replied cutting into the cake and passing out the pieces.
\t“Okay Ms. … uh Willow? Grandma?” Elli said uneasily.
\t“You’ll get used to it pretty fast,” Willow said and smiled at her.

\tNearly two hours after dinner and her party, Fang carried Elli upstairs. She had fallen asleep shortly after opening her gifts. Vapor pulled the sheets back and Fang laid her into her bed. He covered her up and stepped back. She buried her head into the soft pillow and balled up into the comfortable bed. Vapor and Fang walked out of the room and shut the door.

\t“Fang… I mean dad.” Elli said pushing on his arm. Fang and Vapor was in bed sleeping. He sat up and looked at the clock, it showed a bit past three AM. He rubbed his eyes and looked down at Elli. It was her first night in her new house with her new family.
\t“What’s wrong Elli?” Fang asked.
\t“I woke up from some noise. I heard it through vents or something. I got scared and ran up here. Can I sleep with you and Vap… mom?” She explained.
\t“Sure for tonight.” Fang said lifting her up. She crawled to the middle and he pulled the covers back and waited for her to get under the sheets. They both soon fell asleep.

\tLater that morning Fang and Vapor walked downstairs and into the dining room to see Elli sitting at the table staring intensely at nothing.
\t“You okay Elli?” Vapor asked.
\t“Yeah. Just waiting for food.” She replied.
\t“You know you can just get food yourself. Cereal and milk, waffles are heated in the toaster, breakfast pastries. Pretty much anything.” Vapor replied.
\t“We don’t have to wait for food to be made and brought out to us?” She asked looking at her new parents.
\t“No. You’re free to get food yourself. Unless it has to be cooked on the stove or in the oven. Anything for the microwave or toaster is okay.” Fang replied.
\t“Oh okay.” She replied with a smile. She jumped down from the chair and rushed into the kitchen. She looked in the fridge for a minute then turned around. Fang had started the coffee maker while Vapor opened a cabinet for the cups.
\t“What can I eat? I’ve never had to choose food for myself.” She asked. Fang walked over and opened the freezer and looked in it.
\t“Hmm. Nothing good in here in my opinion.” He said then opened the fridge. After a few moments he looked down at Elli.
\t“How about I cook you and me some scrambled eggs and bacon?” He asked. She smiled big and nodded excitedly. She rushed back to the table and sat down and began her wait. Vapor walked over to the table with a cup of coffee and sat down.
\t“How long you been awake?” She asked.
\t“Almost two hours I think.” Elli replied.
\t“Please say you didn’t sit down here waiting for all that time.” Vapor asked.
\t“No of course not. I was awake for maybe thirty minutes while I laid between you and dad. Then I got up because I had to pee. After that I came down and waited. I sat in the living room for a little bit then came in here.” Elli replied.
\t“You watched TV?” Vapor asked.
\t“No. I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on.” Elli replied looking over at Vapor.
\t“We’ll get you caught up on technology sweetie.” Fang said sitting a plate down in front of Elli and Vapor.
\t“I guess mom was really tired and hasn’t woken up yet.” Fang said sitting down. The three of them ate the breakfast together. Elli savoring each bite, much slower than the previous night.

\tThroughout the day Elli was extremely active. She was exploring the house. She walked into every room and looked around. She was in the media room staring silently at the gigantic TV that would mounted to the wall. Onai walked in wanting to play a video game. He stopped after seeing her.
\t“Hi Elli,” he said walking up to her. She slowly stepped backwards away from him. Her paws slowly came up in front of her. Her face had fear written all over it. Onai was confused about this, he looked behind him to see if there was something behind them, maybe a monster or something. But there was nothing there, other than the black walls.
\t“Are you okay Elli?” He asked. She shook her head and ran. She ran around the chairs and out of the door. He stood there for a moment in shock really unsure what happened. He left the room and headed downstairs. He stepped into the living room, his mom and dad was sitting there along with Tib and Katia.
\t“Hey dad. Elli just ran out of the media room when I walked in. She look really scared. She backed away and put her paws up in front of her before running out of the media room,” he explained.
\t“She did the same with me. She was in our bedroom when I came out of the bathroom. She didn’t say anything. She fled faster than I’ve seen anyone run,” Tib said.
\t“Ah, we should have warned you boys. She’s scared of males. We won’t tell you why for her privacy. Give her some space and time, she’ll warm up to you two. Try to have one of the girls with you if you want to talk to her. Okay?” Vapor explained.

\t“Ahhhhhhh!!” Elli screamed running down the stairs. Fang rushed up to the stairs to see what she was screaming about. Before he could get on the stairs, she jumped into his arms crying. It was a bit past midnight. “What’s wrong Elli?” Fang asked holding and rubbing her back.
\t“There's a monster or something in my room. I hear it every night since I been here.” Elli said through sobs and cries.
\t“There are no monsters in this house.” Fang assured her. She shook her head while her body trembled in his arms, her entire body shook him.
\t“Come on let’s get you back in bed. It was only a nightmare.” Fang said.
\t“No!” Elli cried out. “It wasn’t a nightmare.” Vapor walked down the stairs to see what the yelling was.
\t“It goes VRRRRRRR then makes angry growls. It’s a monster.” Elli cried trying to explain. Vapor walked up to the two and was told what was going on.
\t“Come on. Let's see if I can hear this noise.” Fang said.
\t“No. I’m not going back in that room. I wanna sleep with you and mom again.” she said still crying and trembling.
\t“You’re a big girl. You don’t need to be sleeping with us every night sweetie.” Vapor said rubbing Elli’s head.
\t“Tell you what. I’ll sleep with you in the room tonight and see if I can hear this monster. I’ll slay it when I see it. Okay?” Fang said.
\t“O-Okay.” Elli replied wiping tears from her face, feeling a little less scared now.

\tVapor kissed the two of them and left Elli’s bedroom. Elli moved up against him still trembling. It was her fifth night with her new family. She was enjoying it. She liked everyone, but scared of Onai and Tib. But the room at night scared her. She ended up sleeping with Fang and Vapor every night except one, her third night she slept on the couch in the living room. Fang laid in the bed while Elli slept silently, her chest slowly rising and falling as she breathed in and out. Fang smiled at her. She slept so innocently. So happy. A smile was on her muzzle. Fang laid there for nearly two hours in silence, trying to force himself to stay awake, to see what this “monster” was. After another half hour Fang’s eyes closed when all of a suddenly VRRRRRRR sounded out causing Fang and Elli to both jerk up out of their sleep.
\t“Oh shit. What is that?” Fang asked. Elli had already attached herself to his neck, trembling and crying.
\t“I. It. It’s the mon-monster!” She cried. Fang stood up with her in his arms. He followed the sound to a corner of the room, near the bathroom door.
\t“Hmm.” Fang said. He opened the hidden passage to the amazement of Elli. She hadn't been told about the secret passages in the house, no less in her room.
\t“Wrap your legs around my waist and hold on tight, okay?” Fang said to her. She tightened her grip on him and did as told. He crawled into the passage and followed it down to a long ladder. The monster growls was getting louder. After climbing down a couple of ladders and lots of long passages, they stood in the hidden safe room. He pressed a couple of keys on a keypad and the door opened up. He stepped out and they could hear the roar of machinery and the sound of the monster. He nervously laughed and rubbed Elli’s head.
\t“Here’s your monster Elli. It’s the pump for our water system. I guess its about to fail.” He said. He walked over to the power panel and pulled the power handle down. A loud ka-thunk sounded out as the handle landed at the bottom of the power panel and the pump slowly whirred to a stop. The VRRRRRRR sound faded away slowly.
\t“Slayed the monster as promised, my fair princess.” He said to Elli. She looked around in the darkness, not able to see much of anything other than even darker shadows. Fang made his way out of the basement to the stairs and into the main house. He pulled Elli off of him and sat her on the kitchen counter. She still trembled from the monster and their adventure. He smiled and wiped the tears from her eyes and face. He turned towards the freezer and opened it. After a moment he turned around and in his paws was an ice cream bucket.
\t“How does a late night snack sound?” He asked.
\t“Sh. Sounds good.” She replied quietly.

\tHe pulled a couple of bowls out and put in a couple of scoops in each. He turned around and told Elli to get on his back. He walked into the living room and sat on the couch. She moved off his back and sat down. He handed her a bowl and he sat down next to her. They sat there watching a late night movie and eating ice cream together. Both of them laughing at the comedy movie. After finishing the ice cream Fang laid down and fell asleep with Elli, already asleep, in his embrace.

Wednesday September 6, 2023

\tThe next morning they were woken up by Willow. “What are you two sleeping down here for?” Willow asked confused.
\t“We were slaying monsters during the night. Had to treat my savior with ice cream.” Fang said winking at Elli causing her to giggle.
\t“Fang. I know you were asleep, but try to mind where your paws are at.” Willow warned. He tilted his head confused.
\t“Why don't you head upstairs and brush your teeth Elli. We had that ice cream last night.” Fang said to Elli. She nodded and hugged him then rushed upstairs.
\t“What do you mean mom?” Fang asked.
\t“Your paw was between her legs resting on her crotch. You know what she went through. Don’t want to scare her.” Willow explained.
\t“Oh. Well, as you said I was sleeping. Can’t really help it. But yeah, I’ll be careful.” Fang said standing up. The two of them headed into the kitchen to start breakfast.

\t“Dad saved me last night.” Elli said to Onai and Luna in their room as they got ready for school.
\t“What happened. Are you okay?” Luna asked.
\t“I guess it really wasn't saving me. But since I’ve been here every night I’ve heard a sound. It scared me. Sounded like a monster. I’d run to their room and sleep with them. Dad slept with me in my room last night and the sound happened. He went through a cool hidden passage. Did you know about those? Anyway he killed the monster. Some big circle thing. A pump he said I think. Then we had ice cream after and fell asleep on the couch together.” Elli explained their adventure last night.
\t“Aww. I’m glad you’re safe and dad too. He’s a good dad.” Onai replied with Luna agreeing. Onai walked up and hugged her tightly. Elli tensed up but relaxed, seeing a warm friendly smile on Luna’s face.
\t“It’s nice to have a little brother and sister!” Elli said returning Onai’s hug.
\t“You’re pretty nice too,” Luna replied.

\t“It was the water pump. It’s dying so I turned it off. Until we get it replaced the water pressure will be low.” Fang told Willow and Vapor. “I’ll call for it to be replaced later.” He added.
\t“So you went on an adventure. Then had a late night snack. Then slept with Elli on the couch. Having another affair, huh?” Vapor replied with a smile.
\t“Ugh! Jeez. You’re never going to let me forget about Pepper and me are you?” Fang replied shaking his head.
\t“Nope. Of course not.” Vapor replied then kissed him muzzle to muzzle.
\t“Eww!” Luna said as she, Onai and Elli walked into the kitchen.

\tFang warned everyone of the low water pressure for showers and any running water while they sat and ate breakfast. After a bit they got everyone into the car and dropped them off at school. Elli wasn’t enrolled yet, she would start the next school year. Until then she would continue learning at the orphanage. Willow would drive her to the orphanage then back at the end of the day.

\t“Hey these passages are cool!” Elli said as she crawled out of the passage in Tib and Katia’s bedroom, causing both Tib and Katia to jump as they laid on the bed.
\t“Don’t play in the passages. You’ll get in trouble. They’re for emergencies only.” Katia warned her.
\t“Why are you both naked?” She asked.
\t“We’re allowed to be naked. You’ll want to talk to Fang and Vapor first though. They have rules about it.” Katia replied.
\t“Okay.” Elli said and headed towards the door. “Sorry for coming in through the secret passage.” She said then left the room.

\t“Mom. Why is Katia and Tib naked?” Elli asked as Fang and Vapor sat outside in the backyard.
\t“We allow you cubs to be naked if you want. But you can only do it in the house or out in the backyard but not in the front yard.” Fang explained. Elli sat down at the table and looked at them and smiled.
\t“What?” Vapor asked with a chuckle.
\t“Nothing. Just happy to not be in the orphanage anymore. Not have to be scared of those bad furs anymore.” She explained and exhaled deeply.
\t“We’re glad that you’re happy now.” Vapor said rubbing her head.
\t“Elli, how is your private area doing?” Fang asked.
\t“I don’t know. It’s still open. It hurts a little bit every so often.” She replied blushing.
\t“Well it won’t ever go back to the way it was, but it should have stopped hurting.” Fang replied.
\t“Are you rubbing it?” Vapor asked.
\t“When it starts hurting, yeah. It helps the pain go away faster.” She replied.
\t“Try not rubbing it anymore. It’ll only keep hurting.” Vapor said.
\t“She is coming of age though. She’ll be going into heat at some point.” Fang said.
\t“True. But still don’t keep rubbing it for now.” Vapor replied.
\t“What’s going into heat?” Elli asked.
\t“We’ll explain it when the time comes. But once you feel something odd or not right, you need to let us know okay?” Fang replied.
\t“Okay. What about this naked stuff?” She asked.
\t“If you want to you can. You don’t have to be scared of anyone or anything in this house. If someone does try something and you don’t like it, tell them to stop. If they don’t you tell one of us or Willow. Okay?” Vapor replied.
\t“Okay. Thank you mom and dad.” She replied.
\t“Elli. One more thing. Try not to be scared of Onai, Tib or Shade. We promise you they will not do anything to you. Those three will fight to protect you. You shouldn’t worry about them. Okay? The three of them have asked why you’re scared of them, running out of rooms. We haven’t told them why, as it’s not really our place to do so. You can if you want to. But I promise you they won’t do anything bad to you. Okay?” Fang said. Elli looked at him for a moment, as if he was crazy. She sighed and nodded her head.
\t“Okay,” she replied.
\t“Good girl,” he replied.

\tShe got up and kissed them and rushed back into the house. Onai sat on the couch watching TV when Elli walked in. He looked over at her and smiled. She stopped walking and stared at him for a moment. She took in a deep breath and anxiously exhaled. She sat down next to him.
\t“Hey sis. How are you doing?” Onai asked. She looked over at him in silence for a moment. “I’m good,” she replied then turned her attention to the cartoons.
\t“Good to hear,” he replied and went back to the cartoons as well.

\t“Fang we could look into that surgery that Izzy got. You know the one that repaired her vagina and ass to close them up a bit more. I think they can even make a fake hymen now. It would be like nothing happened to her sexually.” Vapor said after Elli left the room.
\t“Maybe yeah. But she’s so young though. Would she understand it?” Fang replied.
\t“We can talk to her and the doctor about it.” Vapor replied.
\t“Yeah. Let’s talk to Elli about it first though.” Fang replied.

\t“Hey! Elli, Come here.” Willow said loudly as Elli ran through the house. She stopped running and walked up to Willow. “Yes Ms… err, Willow?” She asked.
\t“Why are you naked and just running around?” Willow asked.
\t“But mom and dad said I could. Said that they and you allow it.” She replied as tears started welling in her eyes.
\t“I know. But we have guests coming over soon. You know that, now go get dressed.” Willow replied.
\t“Okay. Sorry Willow.” She replied and rushed upstairs.

\tWillow walked out to the backyard where Fang and Vapor was sitting. She sat down at the table and shook her head.
\t“When did you tell Elli she could run around naked?” Willow asked.
\t“Yesterday. Why?” Vapor replied.
\t“She was in there running around naked. Actual running around. Had her arms out like a plane. Told her to go get dressed since Quill is coming over for dinner.” Willow said.
\t“Okay. She’s really opening up now. She’s not the scared little girl as she once was. Just a month out of the orphanage and she’s opened up this much.” Vapor said.
\t“I’m glad to she her smiling.” Willow replied. “You two are doing great.” She added and smiled at the two.

\tOnai and Luna sat at the dining room table, next to each other, in front of two birthday cakes. One was pink and purple with ponies and the other blue and white with Digcraft characters. All of the Wolfe stood around the table, along with about a dozen school friends each of Onai and Luna’s. It was their birthday party. Elli watched with excitement. It was her first birthday party, not hers, but still felt awesome to her. Something new for her. She had been in the Orphanage since she was four years old. For unknown reasons to Willow and other staff, she had always refused adoptions, until Fang and Vapor surprised her that day. She stood there smiling and listening to everyone sing the Happy Birthday song to the twins, she was smiling as much as Onai and Luna was. Her tail was wagging to see what happens after the song. She watched in amusement as her brother and sister sat there, in silence, for a moment after the song, then suddenly each one blew out the candles. First Onai then Luna. To Elli, it appeared they were thinking about something before blowing out the candles. Onai was tapping his fingers against the side of his muzzle before he opened his eyes, smiled and blew out the candles. Luna only sat there making different expressions on her muzzle and her eye’s moved left to right and back again, multiple times. Vapor and Fang both sliced into the cake and started passing them around. Elli took a piece of both. Luna’s was pink inside as it was strawberry flavored. Onai’s was green and was lime flavored.

\tBeing the middle of Winter and also the foot and half of snow on the ground, no one could go swimming. But that didn’t stop many from playing out inside in the snow for a short time. The pool was fully covered with a top on it. It supports thousands of pounds and the weight of the snow. It was a nice option for the main pool section that was flush to the backyard ground. After eating cake and before gifts, Onai, Luna and many of their friends were outside playing. They were running around and throwing snow at each other. Elli stood on the porch next to her dad and watch everyone play. She was unsure if she’d like it. Fang looked down at her when she took his arm and hugged. He smiled and squatted down.
\t“Go play Elli. You’ll be okay. Go make some friends,” he urged her.
\t“My ears are really cold though,” she replied. He chuckled and removed his beanie and placed it on her. She smiled up at him already feeling the warmth from the wool cap. He urged her to go once again.
\t“If you don’t at least try it, I’ll throw you into the snow drift over there,” he said and winked. He sat down on the stairs and picked up a pawful of snow and balled it up.
\t“See Onai over there? Take this, run towards him and throw it at him,” he said.
\t“But you said we’re not allowed to throw stuff at others,” she said looking at him.
\t“True, but this is snow. It’s mostly soft when you ball it up right. It’ll just splatter against him, so it’s safe to throw. See the others are doing it,” he said pointing out into the yard. She took the snowball in her gloved paw and smiled. She looked out at Onai then quickly jumped from the steps and ran towards him, on the snow-cleared walkway. Fang burst out laughing as soon as she pegged him in the chest, causing him to fall backwards into a pile of snow. Onai stood up and looked at Elli standing ten feet from him. He narrowed his eyes and smirked. He picked up a pawful of snow and tossed it back at her, hitting her in the face. She brushed the snow off and laughed. She ran over and picked up more snow and started tossing it at others. Willow stepped outside and sat down next to Fang. They watched over the cubs while they all played in the snow for the next half hour.

\tAfter calling everyone back to the porch Fang and Vapor got everyone back inside. Vapor escorted the girls to one bathroom and Fang took the boys to a different bathroom. Each gender cleaned up and warmed up in nice hot showers. After the other girls started stripping down Elli tugged at Vapor’s arm.
\t“Mom, I don’t want to bath with others. What if they see me? You know,” she whispered to Vapor.
\t“I bet you some of them have had sex and won’t say anything. Plus everyone will be focusing on warming up and getting clean,” Vapor replied quietly to the shy Kinkajou.
\t“You think so?” Elli asked.
\t“Yes. And if someone does ask, just tell them you had sex with someone that you loved or you can tell the truth. That’s up to you,” she replied. Elli closed her eyes for a few seconds then nodded her head. She opened her eyes to see the other girls had almost stripped their wet clothes off already.
\t“Elli! Come on,” a fox said and rushed up to her.
\t“I. I don’t know,” she replied.
\t“Aw come on, no reason to be scared,” the 9 year old fox replied and smiled. Luna walked up and hugged Elli.
\t“Everyone is nice here,” Luna said in her ear then pulled out of the hug. Elli looked at the other girls now fully naked. She nodded and then pulled her shirt off, then pants and panties. Luna took her paw and they walked over to the shower where most of the girls were already in.
\t“Be nice girls. No roughhousing in the shower,” Vapor said then left the bathroom. Elli stood near a corner and watched all the others wash off. Her tail rested in her paws, going between her legs, covering herself up. One of the girls, a serval, looked over at the Kinkajou. She nudged Luna who looked over at Elli. The two girls headed over to Elli and sat down beside her.
\t“I’m Mao,” the serval said.
\t“Hi. I’m Elli,” she replied sitting down, keeping her tail covering herself.
\t“Elli, no need to be scared. I promise,” Luna said.
\t“I. I’m not sca-scared,” she replied.
\t“Elli, you’re a bad lair,” Luna replied and giggled.
\t“Never took a shower with others before?” Mao asked.
\t“No. I have. It’s just different,” she replied.
\t“How so?” Mao asked.
\t“I was in an orphanage. We rarely got to shower. So when we did it did it to stop the smell of us. We never got to do it to warm up or for fun or anything,” she explained.
\t“Well, I know all of these girls and they’re all cool and friendly. Whatever you’re scared of, you don’t have to be. They’re all really nice and won’t do anything,” Mao said then stood up. She reached her paw out to Elli. Elli looked up at her unsure. Luna stood up and took Elli’s paw and pulled her up with the help of Mao.
\t“Come on Elli. Join us. Please?” Mao said and smiled as friendly as she could.
\t“Okay,” she said, finally giving in. The three of them walked over to the shower heads and stood underneath them. Elli’s fear soon melted away in the warmth of the hot water. Her tail dropped down, uncovering her. Mao walked up to her and placed a rag against Elli’s chest and rubbed it. Elli looked up and smiled nervously and took the rag from her. Mao, although two years younger than Elli, stood almost a foot taller than her. Elli smiled again then ran the rag across her body as Vapor popped her head into the shower.
\t“I think it’s time to get out now,” Vapor said, after giving them over an hour of shower fun time. All the girls exited except Mao, who walked up to Vapor.
\t“I’m going to stay in until Elli is finished. She sat in the corner until like five minutes ago,” she said. Vapor looked over at Elli who was standing underneath one of the rainfall shower heads, just staring at her mom. Vapor smiled and nodded at Mao, “Okay, I’ll give you two some extra time,” then closed the door behind her. After ten minutes Elli sat down on the bench in the shower. Mao sat down on the floor in front of her. She looked up at the Kinkajou and smiled.
\t“What was it like in the orphanage?” She asked. Elli shook her head.
\t“That bad huh?” Mao replied.
\t“It. It was until Ms. Wol, Willow, took over,” Elli replied.
\t“How was it bad?” Mao asked.
\t“The headmistress was bad. Evil. We barely got food. Rarely got showers. Slept on basically cardboard. Had barely any clothes. It was really bad,” Elli explained leaving out the rape and forced prostitution.
\t“I’m sorry to hear that. You’re better now though, right?” Mao asked. Elli replied and moved her paw down to her crotch, trying to cover herself up, when some memories of an elephant pushed into her. It was her second time. She was seven. \t“Elli, if you ever want to or need to talk about this, just call me okay? I’ll give you my cell phone number,” Mao said then stood up.
\t“Thanks Mao,” Elli replied. Mao hugged her for a few seconds then headed to the shower door.

\tHalf an hour later, in the living room, with the fireplace going, Onai and Luna opened their gifts. Onai opened one, then Luna opened one and they repeated that until all gifts were open.

\tLater that night all of the female cubs were laying on the floor in the sitting room. The room was lit up with the low glow of the fireplace in the corner. On the opposite side was the round aquarium, with its low light level. Everyone was sleeping when Elli quietly stood up and headed upstairs to her own bedroom. Unknown to her another was awake. She quietly followed Elli up to her bedroom. She was quiet as to not wanting to scare her new friend. Elli stepped into her bedroom then a few seconds later the door opened. Elli sat up in bed and watched Mao walk in.
\t“You okay Elli?” She asked.
\t“Yeah. Just couldn’t get to sleep on the floor. Reminded me of the orphanage,” Elli replied. Mao walked up and sat down on the bed.
\t“Yeah. I couldn’t either,” she replied.
\t“Want to lay down for a bit?” Elli asked.
\t“Sure,” Mao replied and smiled. Elli pulled the covers back and allowed Mao to get in. Elli turned onto her side, facing away from the cat. But after a few minutes she turned back over and looked at Mao.
\t“Why did you follow me?” Elli asked.
\t“I was just worried I guess. Wanted to make sure you were okay,” she replied.
\t“Thanks,” Elli replied. Mao scooted closer to Elli and placed her paw on her face then smiled. She gave Elli a soft kiss then smiled sitting up. Elli sat up looking at her then slapped her. Mao sat there holding her cheek, stunned.
\t“I. I’m Sorry. That was wrong of me to do,” Mao said.
\t“I, um, I have someone that I like Mao,” Elli blurted out.
\t“Oh,” Mao replied, “okay,” then exhaled. “I’m sorry.”
\t“It’s okay,” Elli replied, “sorry for slapping you.”
\t“No you had the right to do that. I should go back down to the others,” Mao replied and pulled the covers off of her. Elli placed her paw on Mao’s arm.
\t“You don’t have to. Just don’t kiss me again, okay?” She replied and smiled.
\t“Alright, thanks Elli,” Mao replied then laid back down.

\tThe next morning Vapor opened the bedroom door and exhaled deeply after finding the two missing cubs. Elli’s right arm was laying across Mao’s stomach and her head on Mao’s chest. Vapor walked up to the bed and shook them awake.
\t“Get up. You both had all of us scared,” Vapor said to the two as they sat up and rubbed their eyes.
\t“I couldn’t sleep on the floor mom,” Elli said.
\t“And you Mao?” Vapor asked crossing her arms.
\t“I saw Elli get up and leave. I followed to make sure she was okay,” Mao replied.
\t“We told you girls to stay on the first floor. But I’m glad you two are safe. Get up. Breakfast will be started soon. I have to let Willow and Fang know you two are safe,” Vapor said and left the room.

\t“Thanks for letting me sleep here Elli,” she said.
\t“Yeah. No problem,” Elli replied. The both headed downstairs after using the bathroom. Over the next few hours parents picked up all of the friends of Onai and Luna and now Elli. Elli hugged Mao and said bye as she walked out with her parents. Elli walked into the living room and sat down next to her mom. Vapor ran her paw down the back of Elli’s head and smiled at her after she looked at her.
\t“You have fun yesterday?” Vapor asked.
\t“Yeah I did,” she replied and smiled.
\t“Good to hear that you did. But Elli, you should have obeyed us about staying on the first floor. You could have slept on the couch,” Vapor said.
\t“I’m sorry mom. I just wanted something soft to lay on and I didn’t think about the couch. The floor was reminding me of the orphanage before Willow took over,” she explained.
\t“I won’t punish you this time, but next time you will be punished. Okay?” Vapor said.
\t“Okay. Thanks mom,” Elli replied and smiled. She laid her head against Vapor’s arm as they watched some Christmas cartoons.

\t“WAKE UP! SANTA WAS HERE!” Elli exclaimed jumping up on the bed in Onai and Luna’s bedroom. “Get out!” Luna scowled and turned over to try to fall back asleep. She frowned, jumped off the bed and rushed out. She rushed into Fang and Vapor’s bedroom who were not amused at being woken up at three AM. “Elli. Calm down. We know it’s your first Christmas with us. But it is way too early. Come up here and lay back down.” Fang said sitting up in the bed. She lowered her head and did as told. She walked up to the bed and started to climb up. Fang picked her up and flew her over head and sat her down in the middle of them. She crawled up against him and closed her eyes.

\tA few hours later Fang gently shook Elli to wake her up. She sat up and yawned then looked around.
\t“How did I get in your bed?” She asked.
\t“Nevermind that for now. Santa was here, if you remember.” Fang replied.
\t“OH YEAH!” She exclaimed and jumped up and off the bed. She rushed out of the room and down the stairs. The floor around the Christmas tree was packed full of gifts. She impatiently waited as everyone slowly funneled down the stairs. To Elli’s sorrow, they ate breakfast first and then waited for Quill to arrive. A bit over an hour after waking up, everyone sat around surrounded by their dozens gifts. As they’ve done in the past, Willow, Vapor and Fang had the youngest open gift’s first and go from there. It didn’t take Laika too long to open her gifts. Elli sat there impatiently waiting for Fang and Vapor to allow her to tear into hers. With an “okay Elli” from Vapor, she started tearing into her gifts. Toys, books, games and clothing. It only took her a few minutes to rip through the near two dozen gifts. She smiled and thanked her mom, dad, grandma, Quill and others for the gifts. She watched silently as the others opened their gifts, while she played with a few toys that she had received.

\tAfter everyone had finished opening gifts they sat around playing and talking with each other. Elli sat quietly on the floor near the fireplace. She watched everyone talking, playing or watching a near silent TV.
\t“You okay Elli?” Fang asked after a while. She smiled and nodded.
\t“Yeah.” She replied.
\t“You seem quiet. Are you sure you’re okay?” Fang asked again.
\t“Yeah. I’m just happy to have a real Christmas. A real family. Real brother’s and sisters. Real mom and dad and grandma. Happy to be a family,” She explained. She stood up and ran over to Fang and hugged and kissed him and did the same with Vapor.
\t“Willow, thank you for going through all the pain to get the state and whatever to allow Fang and Vapor to adopt me. I overheard you tell mom and dad how hard it was to do because they were so young.” She said hugging Willow tightly. “Even if I hadn’t gotten any presents from any of you or Santa, I’d still be happy. Happy just to be your family, your daughter, your sister,” Elli said and started crying. After a few seconds, she let go of Willow and ran around hugging everyone. Onai, Luna, Laika, Pepper, Shade, Katia, Tib, Quill, Willow, Fang and Vapor. They all returned her unconditional love back.

\tLater that evening they all stood in front of the tall 14-foot Christmas tree, with the fireplace to the right. In front of everyone was a camera. With a bright flash, they all blinked at the bright white spots in their eyes. A family Christmas photo with the newest member of the Wolfe family. Her smile was the biggest of all.
