"writing": "Wednesday October 13, 2010\n\n\tThe sun was barely peaking over the horizon as a car stopped and a young wolf cub opened the door and jumped out. \n\n\t“Not so fast young man, get back in here,” a female wolf stated sternly.\n\t“Aww, do I have to?” The cub whined.\n\t“Yes!” The female replied with a smile.\n\n\tThe young cub climbed back in and received a few kisses and a hug from his mom, Willow. \n\n\t“You have fun today, Fang. I love you,” Willow said.\n\t“I love you too mommy,” he replied as he jumped out of the car once again.\n\n\tWillow watched her 6 year old cub run up to the front door to his school. His long fluffy tail flowing in the air behind him, slightly flicking side to side. A minute after he entered the school, Willow started the car and pulled away.\n\n\tFang Wolfe is a 6 year old wolf cub. He has dark gray fur, with light gray fur around his eyes and his entire muzzle, paws, feet and chest down to his crotch and green eyes.\n\n\tFang walked into the classroom and took his seat. A few minutes later the bell rung as the teacher walked into the room. The teacher Mr. Saaka, a raccoon, started writing on the board and talking about what they will be doing today. Math and reading. The class let out loud groans and sighs at the same time. \n\n\tFang looked around the class to see if everyone was there. All the seats were filled. Two rows on his left was a male tiger cub, Jag; they had butted heads before. The tiger for some reason didn’t like Fang and would try to start things with him in P.E. or out on the playground. Fang would stay away from the tiger as much as he could. Behind Fang was Vapor, another wolf cub, she was looking at the board and listening to their teacher, she smiled and waved at him when he turned around but quickly turned her attention back to the board and the teacher.\n\n\n\tHalf the day passed by slowly for Fang and his classmates. The bell rung, signaling it was recess time. All the cubs jumped out of their seats and headed for the door, lining up behind each other. They exited the room and followed their teacher outside.\n\n\tTen minutes into recess a football was thrown and had landed at Fang’s paws. He picked it up to toss back but before he was able to the male tiger cub, Jag, ran up to Fang.\n\n\t“Give us the football back, now!” Jag demanded as he ran up to Fang.\n\t“I was about to throw it back,” Fang replied taking a step backwards.\n\n\tThe tiger reached out to grab the football, but Fang stepped back a second time and tossed it over Jag’s head to the other classmates. Fang turned around to walk away.\n\n\t“Loser!” Jag taunted and pushed Fang. Fang stumbled but was able to keep himself from falling down to the ground. He turned back around to the tiger.\n\t“There was no need to do that Jag!” Fang stated.\n\t“Is the loser wolf pup gonna cry for his mommy?” Jag taunted and pushed Fang again.\n\n\tA small group started to gather around them. Fang tried to walk away, only to be grabbed by Jag and twisted back around. All of a sudden Jag sent his paw into Fang's stomach. Fang dropped to his knees, but got back up and pushed Jag onto the ground. Both started fighting, throwing punches, hitting each other in their chest and a couple of times in the face. They stood up during the fight, their clothes covered in dirt. Their teacher yelled out for them to stop, as he came running across the playground. The teacher’s command had distracted Fang and left his face open. Fang, knowing he was in trouble had closed his eyes and waited for the teacher. Jag took the chance and extended his claws out. He quickly clawed Fang down his face, across his left eye from top down. Fang dropped down to the ground screaming and crying in pain. Blood gushed from the three claw gashes. The other students pulled Jag back and held him back when he tried to straddle Fang to continue his brutal onslaught.\n\n\tAs soon as Mr. Saaka saw Fang he called the office, on his walkie-talkie, to get an ambulance at the playground immediately, stating what just took place. Mr. Saaka took off his outer shirt and applied pressure to Fang’s eye.\n\n\t“Fang don’t open your left eye,” Mr. Saaka warned.\n\t“It hurts! It hurts!” Fang screamed while squirming. Blood and tears soaked and ran down his face. Blood soaked both of their clothing and started to pool on the dirt underneath them.\n\t“I know it does, Fang. Try not to move around. I need to hold this on your eye to try to stop the bleeding,” Mr. Saaka replied.\n\n\tJust moments after the call Mr. Saaka made, the nurse, principal, assistant Principal and two other teachers came running out of the school to where the students were gathered around Fang and Mr. Saaka. One of the teacher gathered up the students to take them back inside, two students remained to give their statements. The assistant Principal took Jag inside to the office, where he called his parents. The principal and nurse remained outside. The nurse took over for Mr. Saaka, who moved over to the Principal to give his statement and account of what happened. The students backed up what Mr. Saaka had said, that Jag had started the fight and not Fang.\n\n\tTen minutes later the ambulance and police arrived and rushed to the playground. Minutes after the paramedics arrived, they took vitals and loaded Fang into the ambulance then rushed him to the hospital. At that point the principal called Fang's mother to inform her what was happened and what hospital he was being taken too.\n\n\tWillow, Fang's mom, rushed out of her furniture store and headed to the hospital. She made it there in record time. She rushed into the main entrance of the hospital and up to the reception desk. She asked what room her son was in, giving his name.\n\n\t“Ms. Willow, he’ll be in room 405 after gets out of surgery. I’ll let the doctor know you’ll be in the waiting room on floor four,” The front desk attendant said.\n\t“Thank you,” Willow said as she rushed down the hall. Reaching the elevator she took it up to the fourth floor. She nervously but patiently waited for a couple of hours for a doctor to inform her about Fang's condition.\n\n\n\tThe police were in the office taking statements from each student. Jag’s parents had arrived and the police informed them that if the Wolfe family wanted to, they could press charges against Jag. The principal also informed them that Jag was immediately expelled for the remaining school year and would have to repeat it next year. Jags father pulled his son out of the chair and smacked his butt six times, who started crying. The police grabbed Jag’s father arm and warned him not to smack his cub any more in front of them. He agreed with a scoff and asked if they were free to leave. The police took their information for their report and sent them away.\n\n\t“We’ll finish this at home young tiger,” his father said. Jag cowered and looked back at the principal and teacher in fear as his father yanked him out of the room by one arm. They could hear him yelling at the young cub from outside the front doors. Another cry of pain then silence.\n\n\tBack in class the students were talking to each other about what happened when Mr. Saaka walked back in and had the students calm down.\n\n\t“I’ll call Fang's mom tomorrow to see how Fang is doing. Jag has been expelled,” Mr. Saaka explained. “For now please do the following questions,” he said as he wrote a column of numbers on the board.\n\n\tAt the hospital, Willow was still in the waiting room, on her phone with the babysitter who was watching her three year old cub, Pepper. Willow explained what happened and that she might not be home until late or until the next day. The babysitter understood and said that she would be okay to watch Pepper, Fang’s younger sister, overnight if needed at no additional charge. During their call a doctor stepped out into the waiting room.\n\n\t“Ms. Wolfe?” the doctor called out.\n\t“I have to go now, the doctor is here,” Willow said to the babysitter and hung up.\n\t“That’s me. How is Fang? Is he okay? How bad is he hurt? What happened to him in there?” Willow asked question after question.\n\t“Slow down Ms. Wolfe. Breath. Fang is doing fine. He’s weak and he’s asking for you,” the doctor said.\n\t“Okay. Good to hear,” Willow replied and sighed. She took a deep breath and exhaled once again.\n\n\tWillow gathered her things up to follow the doctor. They started to head for the room, when the doctor stopped her.\n\n\t“You need to know… he has three major lacerations across his left eye. They have been stitched and are covered up right now. We won’t know if he’ll have vision damage until we take off the patch tomorrow. I’ll walk to the room with you,” the doctor stated.\n\n\tBoth Willow and the Doctor walked to room 405. Willow and the doctor stepped into the room and Fang weakly shouted out, “MOMMY!” and started crying as she hugged him. He was groggy from the pain killers and the anesthesia.\n\n\t“We’re going keep Fang overnight to make sure that he’s safe, healthy and that his vision is okay and stitches doesn't come loose, as well as to make sure he’s okay from the amount of blood that he lost,” the doctor explained\n\t“You’re free to stay in the room overnight. The couch pulls out to be a bed,” the doctor explained.\n\t“Thank you. I’ll stay with him overnight,” Willow replied\n\t“If you or Fang need anything, just use the buzzer on the remote,” the doctor explained.\n\t“I’m hungry, we didn’t have lunch yet at school,” Fang said weakly.\n\t“Okay. I’ll have food brought up for you Fang. Do you want anything Ms. Wolfe?” The doctor replied.\n\t“Just a ham sandwich and sweet tea if possible, please,” Willow replied.\n\t“I’ll put in the order for you,” the doctor replied.\n\n\tThe doctor left the room shutting the door behind him. Willow walked over to a counter and opened the few doors and found some towels. She wet the towel with warm water and walked back to the bed. She laid in bed next to Fang and hugged him and laid her tail across both of them.\n\t“How did this happen baby?” Willow asked and started wiping his fur down. The white towel quickly turned red from the dried blood that was left behind after the surgery.\n\n\tFang spent the next few minutes explaining what took place and how Jag had bullied him through the school year. Throughout the story, Fang would stop talking due to his throat hurting and clear his right eye from tears. She got back up and rinsed out the towel then went back to finish cleaning him up. His clothes were stained in blood. She carefully removed his shirt and pants. His body was covered in blood. She leaned over him and kissed his muzzle and smiled.\n\t“You’ll be okay baby,” she said. He smiled and kissed her back.\n\t“I know mommy. I’m strong,” he replied. She smiled and chuckled. She sat up then continued running the towel over his body cleaning up the blood. Fifteen minutes later the door opened back up. A nurse walked in and greeted the two. Willow was still wiping the blood away. The nurse sat the two trays of food on the roll-away bed table.\n\t“After he regains some of his strength, you can give him a shower. Just mind the eye patch and stitches,” the nurse stated.\n\t“Thank you,” Willow replied.\n\n\tA few hours had passed and Fang was sitting on a small shower chair while his mom ran the shower water wand over his body. The water, colored red, flowed down to the drain. Fang sat there with his paws in his lap. His sheath partially covered. He looked over and up at his mom and smiled.\n\t“I love you mommy,” he said.\n\t“I love you too Fang,” she replied and kissed his forehead.\n\t“Almost done,” she said.\n\t“Okay,” he replied.\n\n\tTen minutes later she dropped the towel on his head and carefully dried the right side of his face then the rest of his body.\n\n\tThroughout the rest of the day nurses and the doctor would come and check on him and would change the gauze pad over his eye. Fang eventually fell asleep cradled in his mother’s arms. The doctor came in once more to check in on the two before heading home.\n\n\t“I’m leaving for the night. Are you going to be okay, Ms. Wolfe?” The doctor asked.\n\t“Yes, I’ll be okay. Thank you for everything,” Willow said quietly combing her fingers through Fang’s fur.\n\t“No worries. It’s my job. Would you like help to put him to bed so you can sleep on the couch bed?” The doctor asked.\n\t“If it’s okay, I’d like to sleep with him. I’ll be careful of the IV,” Willow stated looking back down at Fang.\n\t“That’s fine. I’ll inform the night nurses that I gave you permission to sleep in the bed with him. Have a good night Ms. Wolfe. I’ll see you both in the morning,” he said before leaving the room.\n\n\tWillow adjusted her body and laid down in the bed. Fang on her right side, embraced in her tail. Willow soon fell asleep.\n\n\n\tThe next morning, Thursday, Fang and Willow was woken up by the doctor. After a few minutes to let them wake up and Willow to get out of the bed, the doctor examined Fang. He removed the eye patch and looked at the stitches and lacerations carefully.\n\n\t“Okay. Your stitches are fine. There’s no more bleeding. They don’t look like they’re getting infected. Lets check your eye sight, shall we?” The doctor asked.\n\n\tThe doctor pulled out a small flash light and turned it on. It was a dim light, but bright enough to make Fang's iris to narrow when the light hit it.\n\n\t“Fang, close your right eye and tell me how many fingers I’m holding up,” The doctor asked.\n\n\tFang closed his eye and said three then opened his eye again.\n\n\t“Good boy. Can you read the poster on the wall here?” The doctor asked.\n\t“I-I don’t know how to say the word. A-n-a-t-o-m-y,” Fang said then spelled it out.\n\n\t“Good. Your vision appears to be fine. We’ll have you come back in two weeks to have the stitches removed and check your eye again,” the doctor said.\n\t“In the meantime if you notice anything wrong, blurry vision, loss of vision, anything that seems wrong, tell your mom and she needs to bring you back immediately. Okay?” the doctor explained.\n\t“Yes,” both Fang and his mom replied.\n\n\tThe doctor put a fresh patch on Fang's eye and wrapped some gauze around his head to keep it on. “Just like a pirate!” The doctor said then chuckled, causing Fang to smile.\n\n\t“Keep the eye covered, especially when outside. Here are four weeks worth of gauze and patches. There is enough to change it four times a day, however change it when needed. If you run out you can get more from the store or pharmacy. Fang, no rough play until those stitches comes out,” the doctor explained.\n\t“If you have no further questions or concerns, you two are free to go now,” the doctor smiled giving Fang a soft pet on his head.\n\t“Thank you,” Willow said shaking the doctors paw.\n\n\tThe doctor left the room. Willow helped Fang get dressed before the two headed down to the front desk to finish the paperwork and headed home to the rest for the day.\n\n\n\tThe next morning Willow called the school to inform them that Fang was okay, what happened at the hospital and told them that she would be keeping Fang home for the rest of the week and next week to recover. They understood and marked him as an excused absence.\n\n\tLater that evening Mr. Saaka made a home visit to Fang and to see how he was doing and to bring cards that his friends had made for him.\n\n\t“Fang, I’m giving you a free pass for this weeks homework. I’ll mark all of them as your last graded paper was. Lucky for you that was a 98, so your grade will be fine. Just rest up and I’ll see you in a week or two,” Mr. Saaka said.\n\t“What happened to Jag?” Fang asked.\n\t“Officially from school, he was expelled. He’ll have to repeat kindergarten next year sadly. I’m scared to know what his father has done or will do. He spanked Jag pretty badly in the office, just about beating him. The officers had to stop him,” Mr. Saaka explained.\n\t“Oh okay,” Fang replied.\n\t“Ms. Wolfe, I overheard the police that if you want to press charges against Jag, you can. Just let them know down at the police station. I’ll be honest though, Mrs. Willow, after seeing how his father treated him in front of everyone, I think he has enough issues to deal with. But it’s your decision in the end,” Mr. Saaka explained.\n\t“Thank you for letting me know. I’ll call them tomorrow and inform them on my answer,” Willow replied.\n\t“Am I in trouble for fighting?” Fang asked.\n\t“I don’t think so Fang. All your classmates gave statements and each one said that Jag started it. I think you’ll be fine,” Mr. Saaka stated.\n\t“I’m happy to hear. Thank you for helping me and keeping me from bleeding so much,” Fang said as he got up and hugged his teacher.\n\t“You’re a good student Fang, but I’d do that for any of my students,” Mr. Saaka said.\n\t“How is your eye? It’s not-” Saaka started to ask, but Fang cut him off shaking his head.\n\t“My eye and sight is okay,” Fang replied.\n\t“Good to hear. At least you can act like a pirate for a bit, right?” Mr. Saaka replied and slightly chuckled.\n\n\tFang placed his paw on the patch, smiled and nodded.\n\n\t“Mommy, I’m sleepy, I’m going go take a nap,” Fang said.\n\t“Okay sweetie, I’ll be up soon,” Willow stated.\n\t“Take care Fang,” Mr. Saaka said.\n\n\tFang walked up the stairs then down the hall and entered his room where he climbed up on the bed. He stripped his clothes off and laid down.\n\n\t“Mr. Saaka. Thank you for everything yesterday. You most likely saved his eyesight. Keeping the blood out and stopping him from opening his eye or moving around,” Willow said.\n\t“I just wish it hadn’t happened. I’m sorry about that,” Mr. Saaka replied.\n\t“It’s not your fault. It’s hard for teachers to keep an eye on all the students now. It seems like the classes have more and more students each year and not enough teachers,” Willow replied.\n\t“They are. I’ve got 28 … 27 students and I find it difficult at times, but luckily it’s calm most of the time. We really do need an assistant in all of the classrooms or less students in each,” Mr. Saaka replied looking at his watch.\n\t“Maybe one day,” Willow replied.\n\t“I’m sorry to cut this short, but I really do need to get back home so that I can prepare for tomorrow’s class,” Mr. Saaka stated.\n\t“If anything comes up with Fang I’ll let you know. Please don’t tell your students of Fang's eye. I’m sure he’ll want to show it off when he comes back. Speaking of which, he’ll need to have the nurse replace the patch and gauze two or three times during the day. Also no playing in the dirt, no rough housing, you know how it is. He has to take it easy until his wounds heal,” Willow explained.\n\n\tMr. Saaka agreed and left the house. Willow headed up to check on Fang. Upon entering his room, he was sprawled out on the bed fast asleep, knocked out from the pain killer he took just before his teacher visited. Willow smiled and shook her head at Fang who decided to sleep nude. She took a blanket and covered him up and then headed to check on Pepper who was asleep in her toddler bed.\n\n\tFriday morning Willow had called the police station to inform them that she would not be pressing charges against the young tiger cub. She asked for them to check up on him though after hearing about how his father had treated him at the school.\n\n\tThe rest of the week went by without incident. Fang's eye was healing up fine.\n\n\n\tTwo weeks passed and Fang returned to school. Due to having to dress up his eye, he was running a little late today. His mom stopped in front of the school and walked him to his class. She opened the door to the classroom and they both stepped in. Mr. Saaka was already lecturing the class on math.\n\n\t“Ah, Fang. Welcome back. Come on in,” Mr. Saaka stated. “Good morning Ms. Wolfe,” he said looking at her.\n\t“Sorry we’re late,” she replied watching Fang as he looked around.\n\t“It’s okay,” he replied.\n\n\tThe eyes of his classmates looked up at the door when he walked in. Many oohed when they saw his head all bandaged up. Willow squatted down and kissed his muzzle.\n\t“See you after school. I love you,” she whispered to him.\n\t“Love you too mommy,” he replied. He watched as she left the room and shut the door. He stood there for a moment until his teacher asked him if he was going to take his seat.\n\n\t“Oh wow!” “Are you okay Fang?” “Can you see out of your eye?” “Do you have scars?” Classmates asked out loud as he started walking.\n\n\t“Settle down class. Let him get to his seat. You can ask him questions later and he can answer if he wants to,” Mr. Saaka explained.\n\n\tFang made his way to his desk and took his seat. A close friend, Vapor, sat behind him leaned up to his ear.\n\n\t“Are you okay, Fang?” Vapor whispered quietly.\n\t“I am. It’s nice to see you again Vapor,” Fang replied.\n\t“I’m happy to see you too,” Vapor replied with a smile.\n\t“We’ll talk more at recess, okay?” Fang asked.\n\t“Yeah. Good idea” Vapor said.\n\n\tMr. Saaka cleared his throat looking at the two.\n\n\t“Fang, we’re on page 69 in the math book,” Mr. Saaka stated. Fang grabbed his math book and opened it. He adjusted his tail and moved it in the opening from the seat and the back support. His tail flicked as he listened to Mr. Saaka explaining how to add triple stacked math problems. “111 plus 389 plus 28 equals” Fang stopped listening when he felt his tail being grabbed. He turned his head to see Vapor smiling at him. She had hold of his tail in her lap.\n\t“Sorry Fang, I just love your fluffy tail,” she whispered. He smiled and turned back around.\n\n\tThe day went by slowly, but recess finally came. All the students lined up at the door and headed outside. Fang had to sit on the bench but was kept busy by classmates asking him lots of questions. They all wanted to see his eye. Fang explained that he’s not able to take it off, but would ask the nurse if it would be okay to show everyone just once. His friends sighed but agreed and went off to play leaving Fang sitting alone on the bench. A few minutes later Vapor came over and sat down next to him.\n\n\t“Sorry I didn’t come over since you got back from the hospital. Mom and Dad told me that you needed a lot of rest and time to heal,” Vapor said quietly.\n\t“It’s okay, Vapor. Thank you for caring about me,” Fang said giving her a hug. Vapor nuzzled his neck. Vapor turned her body towards him to face him, sitting with her legs crossed. He did the same. They talked to each other, both smiling and the occasional blush from both of them.\n\n\tA short time later the bell rung indicating that recess was over. Everyone let out a loud sigh as they headed back into the classroom. Fang stopped outside of the door and waited for Mr. Saaka to walk by so he could talk to him.\n\n\t“Mr. Saaka, everyone wants to see my eye. Would it be okay with you, if the nurse changed my cover and bandages to show the class, if the nurse says its okay?” Fang asked.\n\t“I don’t see an issue with it. If not, they will keep asking about it probably. I’ll email the nurse. You head there now, okay?” Mr. Saaka stated.\n\n\tFang thanked his teacher and headed to the nurses office. Where he explained what he wanted to do and that his teacher sent her an email. The nurse reluctantly agreed. She gathered up the ointment, bandages, spare gauze and gloves and then walked to the classroom with him.\n\n\tIn the classroom, Mr. Saaka cleared a spot on his desk so Fang could sit. The nurse removed his old bandages and cleaned up the wound, before she turned around to the class.\n\n\t“Are you sure you want to see his eye?” The nurse asked the entire class.\n\t“YES!” The entire class responded loudly.\n\t“Fang are you sure you’re okay with this?” The nurse asked.\n\t“Yes,” he replied.\n\t“Are you really sure?” The nurse asked once more.\n\n\tFang nodded his head. The nurse moved out of the way. Many of the students instantly covered their mouths and many let out various sounds. After about ten seconds or so later, the nurse said she needed to cover it back up, to the disappointment of the class. It took her a couple of minutes to doctor and wrap his eye back up and then headed out the door back to her office.\n\n\t“Okay class, can we now go back to learning without you wondering what Fang’s eye looks like?” Mr. Saaka asked.\n\n\tMr. Saaka helped Fang off of his desk and watched as Fang returned to his chair. Students in between the front of the class and his desk made various comments, “That looks bad.” “Can you feel the stitches?” “It looks cool.” Fang sat down and was getting his paper ready for his teacher to start talking. Vapor leaned up to Fang\n\n\t“I think you’ll look really cute with the scars when it heals,” Vapor whispered and returned back to her book. Fang smiled and blushed at her comment.\n\n\tThe next two weeks passed by and Fang had to return to the doctor to have the stitches removed. He was happy to have them removed as he also got the day off from school.\n\n\tOver the rest of the school year, the gashes fully healed, leaving three sharp and wide red scars across his eye. A few classmates started calling him Scar. He didn’t mind the nickname. Vapor loved seeing his scars and would always put her paw beside his eye and give a smile. During the summer Jag and his family moved away. Fang sighed at the table after his mom asked if he was ready for school to start again. It was just a few weeks before school started back up for the young cub.",

A few minutes later the bell rung as the teacher walked into the room. The teacher Mr. Saaka, a raccoon, started writing on the board and talking about what they will be doing today. Math and reading. The class let out loud groans and sighs at the same time. <br /><br />\tFang looked around the class to see if everyone was there. All the seats were filled. Two rows on his left was a male tiger cub, Jag; they had butted heads before. The tiger for some reason didn&rsquo;t like Fang and would try to start things with him in P.E. or out on the playground. Fang would stay away from the tiger as much as he could. Behind Fang was Vapor, another wolf cub, she was looking at the board and listening to their teacher, she smiled and waved at him when he turned around but quickly turned her attention back to the board and the teacher.<br /><br /><br />\tHalf the day passed by slowly for Fang and his classmates. The bell rung, signaling it was recess time. All the cubs jumped out of their seats and headed for the door, lining up behind each other. They exited the room and followed their teacher outside.<br /><br />\tTen minutes into recess a football was thrown and had landed at Fang&rsquo;s paws. He picked it up to toss back but before he was able to the male tiger cub, Jag, ran up to Fang.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Give us the football back, now!&rdquo; Jag demanded as he ran up to Fang.<br />\t&ldquo;I was about to throw it back,&rdquo; Fang replied taking a step backwards.<br /><br />\tThe tiger reached out to grab the football, but Fang stepped back a second time and tossed it over Jag&rsquo;s head to the other classmates. Fang turned around to walk away.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Loser!&rdquo; Jag taunted and pushed Fang. Fang stumbled but was able to keep himself from falling down to the ground. He turned back around to the tiger.<br />\t&ldquo;There was no need to do that Jag!&rdquo; Fang stated.<br />\t&ldquo;Is the loser wolf pup gonna cry for his mommy?&rdquo; Jag taunted and pushed Fang again.<br /><br />\tA small group started to gather around them. Fang tried to walk away, only to be grabbed by Jag and twisted back around. All of a sudden Jag sent his paw into Fang&#039;s stomach. The teacher&rsquo;s command had distracted Fang and left his face open. The other students pulled Jag back and held him back when he tried to straddle Fang to continue his brutal onslaught.<br /><br />\tAs soon as Mr. Saaka saw Fang he called the office, on his walkie-talkie, to get an ambulance at the playground immediately, stating what just took place. Mr. Saaka took off his outer shirt and applied pressure to Fang&rsquo;s eye.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Fang don&rsquo;t open your left eye,&rdquo; Mr. Saaka warned.<br />\t&ldquo;It hurts! It hurts!&rdquo; Fang screamed while squirming. Blood and tears soaked and ran down his face. Blood soaked both of their clothing and started to pool on the dirt underneath them.<br />\t&ldquo;I know it does, Fang. Try not to move around. I need to hold this on your eye to try to stop the bleeding,&rdquo; Mr. Saaka replied.<br /><br />\tJust moments after the call Mr. Saaka had said, that Jag had started the fight and not Fang.<br /><br />\tTen minutes later the ambulance and police arrived and rushed to the playground. Minutes after the paramedics arrived, they took vitals and loaded Fang into the ambulance then rushed him to the hospital. At that point the principal called Fang&#039;s mother to inform her what was happened and what hospital he was being taken too.<br /><br />\tWillow, Fang&#039;s mom, rushed out of her furniture store and headed to the hospital. She made it there in record time. She rushed into the main entrance of the hospital and up to the reception desk. She asked what room her son was in, giving his name.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Ms. Willow, he&rsquo;ll be in room 405 after gets out of surgery. I&rsquo;ll let the doctor know you&rsquo;ll be in the waiting room on floor four,&rdquo; The front desk attendant said.<br />\t&ldquo;Thank you,&rdquo; Willow said as she rushed down the hall. Reaching the elevator she took it up to the fourth floor. She nervously but patiently waited for a couple of hours for a doctor to inform her about Fang&#039;s condition.<br /><br /><br />\tThe police were in the office taking statements from each student. Jag&rsquo;s parents had arrived and the police informed them that if the Wolfe family wanted to, they could press charges against Jag. The principal also informed them that Jag was immediately expelled for the remaining school year and would have to repeat it next year. Jags father pulled his son out of the chair and smacked his butt six times, who started crying. The police grabbed Jag&rsquo;s father arm and warned him not to smack his cub any more in front of them. He agreed with a scoff and asked if they were free to leave. The police took their information for their report and sent them away.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;We&rsquo;ll finish this at home young tiger,&rdquo; his father said. Jag cowered and looked back at the principal and teacher in fear as his father yanked him out of the room by one arm. They could hear him yelling at the young cub from outside the front doors. Another cry of pain then silence.<br /><br />\tBack in class the students were talking to each other about what happened when Mr. Saaka walked back in and had the students calm down.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll call Fang&#039;s mom tomorrow to see how Fang is doing. Jag has been expelled,&rdquo; Mr. Saaka explained. &ldquo; For now please do the following questions,&rdquo; he said as he wrote a column of numbers on the board.<br /><br />\tAt the hospital, Willow was still in the waiting room, on her phone with the babysitter who was watching her three year old cub, Pepper. Willow explained what happened and that she might not be home until late or until the next day. The babysitter understood and said that she would be okay to watch Pepper, Fang&rsquo;s younger sister, overnight if needed at no additional charge. During their call a doctor stepped out into the waiting room.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Ms. Wolfe?&rdquo; the doctor called out.<br />\t&ldquo;I have to go now, the doctor is here,&rdquo; Willow said to the babysitter and hung up.<br />\t&ldquo;That&rsquo;s me. How is Fang? Is he okay? How bad is he hurt? What happened to him in there?&rdquo; Willow asked question after question.<br />\t&ldquo;Slow down Ms. Wolfe. Breath. Fang is doing fine. He&rsquo;s weak and he&rsquo;s asking for you,&rdquo; the doctor said.<br />\t&ldquo;Okay. Good to hear,&rdquo; Willow replied and sighed. She took a deep breath and exhaled once again.<br /><br />\tWillow gathered her things up to follow the doctor. They started to head for the room, when the doctor stopped her.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;You need to know&hellip; he has three major lacerations across his left eye. They have been stitched and are covered up right now. We won&rsquo;t know if he&rsquo;ll have vision damage until we take off the patch tomorrow. I&rsquo;ll walk to the room with you,&rdquo; the doctor stated.<br /><br />\tBoth Willow and the Doctor walked to room 405. Willow and the doctor stepped into the room and Fang weakly shouted out, &ldquo;MOMMY!&rdquo; and started crying as she hugged him. He was groggy from the pain killers and the anesthesia.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;We&rsquo;re going keep Fang overnight to make sure that he&rsquo;s safe, healthy and that his vision is okay and stitches doesn&#039;t come loose, as well as to make sure he&rsquo;s okay from the amount of blood that he lost,&rdquo; the doctor explained<br />\t&ldquo;You&rsquo;re free to stay in the room overnight. The couch pulls out to be a bed,&rdquo; the doctor explained.<br />\t&ldquo;Thank you. I&rsquo;ll stay with him overnight,&rdquo; Willow replied<br />\t&ldquo;If you or Fang need anything, just use the buzzer on the remote,&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;the doctor explained.<br />\t&ldquo;I&rsquo;m hungry, we didn&rsquo;t have lunch yet at school,&rdquo; Fang said weakly.<br />\t&ldquo;Okay. I&rsquo;ll have food brought up for you Fang. Do you want anything Ms. Wolfe?&rdquo; The doctor replied.<br />\t&ldquo;Just a ham sandwich and sweet tea if possible, please,&rdquo; Willow replied.<br />\t&ldquo;I&rsquo;ll put in the order for you,&rdquo; the doctor replied.<br /><br />\tThe doctor left the room shutting the door behind him. Willow walked over to a counter and opened the few doors and found some towels. She wet the towel with warm water and walked back to the bed. She laid in bed next to Fang and hugged him and laid her tail across both of them.<br />\t&ldquo;How did this happen baby?&rdquo; Willow asked and started wiping his fur down. The white towel quickly turned red from the dried blood that was left behind after the surgery.<br /><br />\tFang spent the next few minutes explaining what took place and how Jag had bullied him through the school year. Throughout the story, Fang would stop talking due to his throat hurting and clear his right eye from tears. She got back up and rinsed out the towel then went back to finish cleaning him up. His clothes were stained in blood. She carefully removed his shirt and pants. His body was covered in blood. She leaned over him and kissed his muzzle and smiled.<br />\t&ldquo;You&rsquo;ll be okay baby,&rdquo; she said. He smiled and kissed her back.<br />\t&ldquo;I know mommy. I&rsquo;m strong,&rdquo; he replied. She smiled and chuckled. She sat up then continued running the towel over his body cleaning up the blood. Fifteen minutes later the door opened back up. A nurse walked in and greeted the two. Willow was still wiping the blood away. The nurse sat the two trays of food on the roll-away bed table.<br />\t&ldquo;After he regains some of his strength, you can give him a shower. Just mind the eye patch and stitches,&rdquo; the nurse stated.<br />\t&ldquo;Thank you,&rdquo; Willow replied.<br /><br />\tA few hours had passed and Fang was sitting on a small shower chair while his mom ran the shower water wand over his body. The water, colored red, flowed down to the drain. Fang sat there with his paws in his lap. His sheath partially covered. He looked over and up at his mom and smiled.<br />\t&ldquo;I love you mommy,&rdquo; he said.<br />\t&ldquo;I love you too Fang,&rdquo; she replied and kissed his forehead.<br />\t&ldquo;Almost done,&rdquo; she said.<br />\t&ldquo;Okay,&rdquo; he replied.<br /><br />\tTen minutes later she dropped the towel on his head and carefully dried the right side of his face then the rest of his body.<br /><br />\tThroughout the rest of the day nurses and the doctor would come and check on him and would change the gauze pad over his eye. Fang eventually fell asleep cradled in his mother&rsquo;s arms. The doctor came in once more to check in on the two before heading home.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;I&rsquo;m leaving for the night. Are you going to be okay, Ms. Wolfe?&rdquo; The doctor asked.<br />\t&ldquo;Yes, I&rsquo;ll be okay. Thank you for everything,&rdquo; Willow said quietly combing her fingers through Fang&rsquo;s fur.<br />\t&ldquo;No worries. It&rsquo;s my job. Would you like help to put him to bed so you can sleep on the couch bed?&rdquo; The doctor asked.<br />\t&ldquo;If it&rsquo;s okay, I&rsquo;d like to sleep with him. I&rsquo;ll be careful of the IV,&rdquo; Willow stated looking back down at Fang.<br />\t&ldquo;That&rsquo;s fine. I&rsquo;ll inform the night nurses that I gave you permission to sleep in the bed with him. Have a good night Ms. Wolfe. I&rsquo;ll see you both in the morning,&rdquo; he said before leaving the room.<br /><br />\tWillow adjusted her body and laid down in the bed. Fang on her right side, embraced in her tail. Willow soon fell asleep.<br /><br /><br />\tThe next morning, Thursday, Fang and Willow was woken up by the doctor. After a few minutes to let them wake up and Willow to get out of the bed, the doctor examined Fang. He removed the eye patch and looked at the stitches and lacerations carefully.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Okay. Your stitches are fine. There&rsquo;s no more bleeding. They don&rsquo;t look like they&rsquo;re getting infected. Lets check your eye sight, shall we?&rdquo; The doctor asked.<br /><br />\tThe doctor pulled out a small flash light and turned it on. It was a dim light, but bright enough to make Fang&#039;s iris to narrow when the light hit it.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Fang, close your right eye and tell me how many fingers I&rsquo;m holding up,&rdquo; The doctor asked.<br /><br />\tFang closed his eye and said three then opened his eye again.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Good boy. We&rsquo;ll have you come back in two weeks to have the stitches removed and check your eye again,&rdquo; the doctor said.<br />\t&ldquo;In the meantime if you notice anything wrong, blurry vision, loss of vision, anything that seems wrong, tell your mom and she needs to bring you back immediately. Okay?&rdquo; the doctor explained.<br />\t&ldquo;Yes,&rdquo; both Fang and his mom replied.<br /><br />\tThe doctor put a fresh patch on Fang&#039;s eye and wrapped some gauze around his head to keep it on. &ldquo;Just like a pirate!&rdquo; The doctor said then chuckled, causing Fang to smile.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Keep the eye covered, especially when outside. It seems like the classes have more and more students each year and not enough teachers,&rdquo; Willow replied.<br />\t&ldquo;They are. I&rsquo;ve got 28 &hellip; 27 students and I find it difficult at times, but luckily it&rsquo;s calm most of the time. We really do need an assistant in all of the classrooms or less students in each,&rdquo; Mr. Saaka replied looking at his watch.<br />\t&ldquo;Maybe one day,&rdquo; Willow replied.<br />\t&ldquo;I&rsquo;m sorry to cut this short, but I really do need to get back home so that I can prepare for tomorrow&rsquo;s class,&rdquo; Mr. Saaka stated.<br />\t&ldquo;If anything comes up with Fang I&rsquo;ll let you know. Please don&rsquo;t tell your students of Fang&#039;s eye. I&rsquo;m sure he&rsquo;ll want to show it off when he comes back. Speaking of which, he&rsquo;ll need to have the nurse replace the patch and gauze two or three times during the day. Also no playing in the dirt, no rough housing, you know how it is. He has to take it easy until his wounds heal,&rdquo; Willow explained.<br /><br />\tMr. Saaka agreed and left the house. Willow headed up to check on Fang. Upon entering his room, he was sprawled out on the bed fast asleep, knocked out from the pain killer he took just before his teacher visited. Willow smiled and shook her head at Fang who decided to sleep nude. She took a blanket and covered him up and then headed to check on Pepper who was asleep in her toddler bed.<br /><br />\tFriday morning Willow had called the police station to inform them that she would not be pressing charges against the young tiger cub. She asked for them to check up on him though after hearing about how his father had treated him at the school.<br /><br />\tThe rest of the week went by without incident. Fang&#039;s eye was healing up fine.<br /><br /><br />\tTwo weeks passed and Fang returned to school. Due to having to dress up his eye, he was running a little late today. His mom stopped in front of the school and walked him to his class. She opened the door to the classroom and they both stepped in. Mr. Saaka was already lecturing the class on math.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Ah, Fang. Welcome back. Come on in,&rdquo; Mr. Saaka stated. &ldquo;Good morning Ms. Wolfe,&rdquo; he said looking at her.<br />\t&ldquo;Sorry we&rsquo;re late,&rdquo; she replied watching Fang as he looked around.<br />\t&ldquo;It&rsquo;s okay,&rdquo; he replied.<br /><br />\tThe eyes of his classmates looked up at the door when he walked in. Many oohed when they saw his head all bandaged up. Willow squatted down and kissed his muzzle.<br />\t&ldquo;See you after school. I love you,&rdquo; she whispered to him.<br />\t&ldquo;Love you too mommy,&rdquo; he replied. He watched as she left the room and shut the door. He stood there for a moment until his teacher asked him if he was going to take his seat.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Oh wow!&rdquo; &ldquo; Are you okay Fang?&rdquo; &ldquo; Can you see out of your eye?&rdquo; &ldquo;Do you have scars?&rdquo; Classmates asked out loud as he started walking.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Settle down class. Let him get to his seat. You can ask him questions later and he can answer if he wants to,&rdquo; Mr. Saaka explained.<br /><br />\tFang made his way to his desk and took his seat. A close friend, Vapor, sat behind him leaned up to his ear.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Are you okay, Fang?&rdquo; Vapor whispered quietly.<br />\t&ldquo;I am. It&rsquo;s nice to see you again Vapor,&rdquo; Fang replied.<br />\t&ldquo;I&rsquo;m happy to see you too,&rdquo; Vapor replied with a smile.<br />\t&ldquo;We&rsquo;ll talk more at recess, okay?&rdquo; Fang asked.<br />\t&ldquo;Yeah. Good idea&rdquo; Vapor said.<br /><br />\tMr. Saaka cleared his throat looking at the two.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Fang, we&rsquo;re on page 69 in the math book,&rdquo; Mr. Saaka stated. Fang grabbed his math book and opened it. He adjusted his tail and moved it in the opening from the seat and the back support. His tail flicked as he listened to Mr. Saaka explaining how to add triple stacked math problems. <em>&ldquo;111 plus 389 plus 28 equals&rdquo;</em> Fang stopped listening when he felt his tail being grabbed. He turned his head to see Vapor smiling at him. She had hold of his tail in her lap.<br />\t&ldquo;Sorry Fang, I just love your fluffy tail,&rdquo; she whispered. He smiled and turned back around.<br /><br />\tThe day went by slowly, but recess finally came. All the students lined up at the door and headed outside. Fang had to sit on the bench but was kept busy by classmates asking him lots of questions. They all wanted to see his eye. Fang explained that he&rsquo;s not able to take it off, but would ask the nurse if it would be okay to show everyone just once. His friends sighed but agreed and went off to play leaving Fang sitting alone on the bench. A few minutes later Vapor came over and sat down next to him.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Sorry I didn&rsquo;t come over since you got back from the hospital. Mom and Dad told me that you needed a lot of rest and time to heal,&rdquo; Vapor said quietly.<br />\t&ldquo;It&rsquo;s okay, Vapor. Thank you for caring about me,&rdquo; Fang said giving her a hug. Vapor nuzzled his neck. Vapor turned her body towards him to face him, sitting with her legs crossed. He did the same. They talked to each other, both smiling and the occasional blush from both of them.<br /><br />\tA short time later the bell rung indicating that recess was over. Everyone let out a loud sigh as they headed back into the classroom. Fang stopped outside of the door and waited for Mr. Saaka to walk by so he could talk to him.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Mr. Saaka, everyone wants to see my eye. Would it be okay with you, if the nurse changed my cover and bandages to show the class, if the nurse says its okay?&rdquo; Fang asked.<br />\t&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t see an issue with it. If not, they will keep asking about it probably. I&rsquo;ll email the nurse. You head there now, okay?&rdquo; Mr. Saaka stated.<br /><br />\tFang thanked his teacher and headed to the nurses office. Where he explained what he wanted to do and that his teacher sent her an email. The nurse reluctantly agreed. She gathered up the ointment, bandages, spare gauze and gloves and then walked to the classroom with him.<br /><br />\tIn the classroom, Mr. Saaka cleared a spot on his desk so Fang could sit. The nurse removed his old bandages and cleaned up the wound, before she turned around to the class.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Are you sure you want to see his eye?&rdquo; The nurse asked the entire class.<br />\t&ldquo;YES!&rdquo; The entire class responded loudly.<br />\t&ldquo;Fang are you sure you&rsquo;re okay with this?&rdquo; The nurse asked.<br />\t&ldquo;Yes,&rdquo; he replied.<br />\t&ldquo;Are you really sure?&rdquo; The nurse asked once more.<br /><br />\tFang nodded his head. The nurse moved out of the way. Many of the students instantly covered their mouths and many let out various sounds. After about ten seconds or so later, the nurse said she needed to cover it back up, to the disappointment of the class. It took her a couple of minutes to doctor and wrap his eye back up and then headed out the door back to her office.<br /><br />\t&ldquo;Okay class, can we now go back to learning without you wondering what Fang&rsquo;s eye looks like?&rdquo; Mr. Saaka asked.<br /><br />\tMr. Saaka helped Fang off of his desk and watched as Fang returned to his chair. Students in between the front of the class and his desk made various comments, &ldquo; That looks bad.&rdquo; &ldquo; Can you feel the stitches?&rdquo; &ldquo; It looks cool.&rdquo; Fang sat down and was getting his paper ready for his teacher to start talking. Vapor leaned up to Fang<br /><br />\t&ldquo;I think you&rsquo;ll look really cute with the scars when it heals,&rdquo; Vapor whispered and returned back to her book. Fang smiled and blushed at her comment.<br /><br />\tThe next two weeks passed by and Fang had to return to the doctor to have the stitches removed. He was happy to have them removed as he also got the day off from school.<br /><br />\tOver the rest of the school year, the gashes fully healed, leaving three sharp and wide red scars across his eye. A few classmates started calling him Scar. He didn&rsquo;t mind the nickname. Vapor loved seeing his scars and would always put her paw beside his eye and give a smile. During the summer Jag and his family moved away. Fang sighed at the table after his mom asked if he was ready for school to start again. It was just a few weeks before school started back up for the young cub.</span>",
