You need to tell mom.” Fang stated.\n\t“Tell me what Pepper?” Willow asked tilting her head.\n\n\tPepper let out a sigh, she embraced Fang’s arm in a hug for reassurance.\n\n\t“I have a boyfriend, mom. We’ve been together for almost a year now.” Pepper said.\n\t“That’s nice. Is he a nice wolf?” Willow asked.\n\t“Pepper, tell her the other part.” Fang stated.\n\t“His name is Shade Marlin. He’s an otter.” Pepper stated.\n\t“He sounds lovely, honey.” Willow replied.\n\t“Pepper. NOW!” Fang commanded.\n\n\t“Okay Fang. I had Shade claim me at the beginning of December.” Pepper said, looking at the floor.\n\t“I hope you’re joking.” Willow stated.\n\t“No I’m not.” Pepper said as she lifted her head and moved her fur out of the way.”\n\t“We’ve done nothing but kiss and hold hands, mom.” Pepper stated frantically as her mom glared at her.\n\t“Does his parents know?” Willow asked.\n\t“No they don’t. They aren’t nice to him. They’ve hurt him in the past.” Pepper said.\n\n\t“Mom. That’s not all we need to tell you about.” Fang said.\n\t“Fang. Do we have to?” Pepper cried out.\n\t“Yes Pepper.” Fang replied.\n\t“What else is there? Please don’t say you’re pregnant. For one we don’t have the room, and two… well I would say you’re too young, but…” Willow said looking at Fang and Vapor.\n\n\t“Mom. They tried to have sex after he claimed her. But she asked him to stop as it hurt her.” Fang explained.\n\t“Pepper! Really? Sex at school? Don’t do it again or you’ll be punished severely.” Willow exclaimed.\n\t“Mom… there’s more. Let me finish.” Fang said hanging his head down. His ears flattened and tail stopped swaying completely.\n\n\t“Two things. Pepper didn’t understand the parts of the male body was and want me to help her. That’s when I found out they didn’t learn it in their school anymore. So she asked me to check her to see if she was okay, since the attempted sex with her boyfriend. She was scared that she wasn’t normal. I told her no for over two hours, but she wouldn’t stop. Hard. It resounded through the house and echoed back. Pepper jumped back into a chair and started crying.\n\n\t“Vapor. I’m sor…” Fang started.\n\n\t[b]“YOU FUCKING JERK! JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP!”[/b] Vapor snarled. Vapor pushed Fang to the ground and ran up the stairs to their room, slamming the door behind her. Fang landed on the ground, his head just inches away from the sharp pointed corner of glass coffee table. Seconds after entering the bedroom Vapor left the bedroom quietly and stopped at the top of the stairs to listen in on what Fang’s explanation was. She was having a hard time controlling her breathing, her paw’s balled up and twitching while trying to control her anger to go punch him.\n\n\tWillow clearly pissed, her tail and neck fur standing on end, demanded them to further explain. Fang got up off the ground and continued from where he left off before Vapor slapped him.\n\n\t“I messed up Mom. I know that. I thought it would be best if we told the truth. I just want to somehow make it right again with Vapor and you.” Fang explained.\n\n\tVapor lunged down the stairs and ran up to Fang.\n\n\t“Fang, you’re married to me. We have three cubs together. What the fuck were you thinking?” Vapor snarled pushing him back down to the ground.\n\t“I’m sorry Vapor, I really am. I was only trying to help Pepper out with her issue, like you did for me. I went to far.” Fang stated standing back up.\n\t“Yeah helping is fine with a book. I didn’t fuck you though for health class. [b]SHE DOESN’T EVEN HAVE HEALTH CLASS![/b]” Vapor snarled back then pushed him back into the chair.\n\n\tWillow decided to keep out of the conversation unless it got physical other than the two pushes.\n\n\t“I’m sorry Vapor. I messed up. I’m really sorry. Please don’t hate me. I love you.” Fang said with tears running down his eyes.\n\n\tVapor said nothing just glared at Fang bearing her fangs and growling. After a moment she looked over at Pepper.\n\t“Pepper, I don’t blame you, but I am highly upset with you for this.” Vapor stated. Pepper was still in the chair crying.\n\t“I don’t want to see you right now Fang.” Vapor scowled and turned and faced Willow. She put her head in her paws and started crying.\n\n\t“I. Uh. I understand.” Fang stated. Fang stood up and walked to the front door and left the house and sat on the front steps.\n\n\tOver the next hour Willow finally got Pepper to stop crying and Vapor to calm down. Vapor finally walked outside. Fang was sitting on the porch shivering with his legs to his chest and tail wrapped around him. Vapor walked into the yard as Fang stood up and followed her.\n\n\t“Vapor. I am so sorry Vapor.” Fang stated. Vapor only glared at Fang, her fur standing on end, her ears flat and bearing her teeth. Her eye’s furious, ready for blood as if she was feral.\n\n\t“If you want me to leave, I understand. I’ll see if I can stay with Quill. If he’ll take me in after I tell him. I’m so sorry.” Fang stated, embracing Vapor in a hug.\n\n\tVapor broke loose from Fang’s hug and pushed him to the ground.\n\n\t“And what, be just like your father? Leaving our cubs and me like he left you, Pepper and your mom. You’re an asshole if you do Fang. I will never forgive you if you leave.” Vapor snarled.\n\t“That’s not what I meant. Just for enough time to try to patch things up.” Fang stated.\n\n\t“Fang. We’re mates, we’re married. We have pups. I love you. You hurt me. You hurt me really bad. I feel worse now than what I did when my parents died. I don’t want you to leave. But we’re not sleeping in the same room. You can sleep in the damn playhouse. I don’t want to see you anymore today.” Vapor said and started heading back to the house.\n\n\t“Vapor, it’s freezing out here. It’s even colder out here at night.” Fang exclaimed.\n\t“Then use your fluffy tail for warmth, [b]JERK[/b]!” Vapor scowled slamming the door behind her.\n\n\tFang sighed and pulled his cell phone out and called Quill. After a few rings Quill answered.\n\n\t“Quill, I fucked up big time. Like really badly fucked up. I need advise. Can you come pick me up please? Now.” Fang asked.\n\t“Yeah, sure buddy. I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.” Quill said over the phone.\n\n\tQuill arrived and Fang got into the car. Shivering furiously. “Want to talk about it?” Quill asked as he turned the heater on max.\n\t“Yeah, but not here. Let’s go somewhere where you won’t kill me.” Fang replied.\n\t“Jeez Fang. What did you do?” Quill asked.\n\t“Just drive god dammit!” Fang snarled with tears flowing down his face.\n\t“Okay. Where to?” Quill asked.\n\t“I don’t care. Anywhere. Somewhere. Somewhere not here.” Fang replied.\n\n\tAs Quill drove to the local park not a word was spoken. Quill pulled into the parking lot and parked the vehicle. Fang got out of the vehicle and started walking away. Quill grabbed his coat and got out of the car. He put on his coat then caught up to Fang and walked beside him. Fang navigated to a mostly empty section of the park and sat down at the park bench and table. FUCKING HELL![/b]” Fang snarled bearing his teeth and slammed his paws on to the table.\n\n\tA few park patrons close by looked over at the two from the vulgar language.\n\n\t“Calm down Fang. I’m not here to judge you. Remember you asked me to come get you and for advise. There’s no need to snap, curse and bare your fangs at me.” Quill replied.\n\n\t“I need advice on what to do. I don’t even like being here, away from the house. I don’t want them to think that I’ve ran off, like my dad did. I told Vapor that I would see if I could stay with you until we could get over this. That was apparently the wrong thing to say. She basically said sure if I want to be like my dad and then pushed me down into the snow.” Fang explained.\n\n\t“Give me a few minutes. Don’t say a word.” Quill said as he pulled his cell phone out and tapped on the phone a few times.\n\n\t“Hello, Willow. Fang is with me at the park. He was worried that Vapor or you might think that he ran off.”\n\t“Yeah he did.”\n\t“How do you think I feel about it?”\n\t“Of course not. I’m open minded remember?”\n\t“Okay.”\n\t“You sure she’s okay with it?”\n\t“Yeah. Okay. We’ll be back later.”\n\tQuill put his phone away.\n\n\tYour mom has forgiven you. Vapor on the other hand. She no longer trusts you. It will take time for her to trust you again. Willow wouldn’t allow her to kick you out of the house because of your pups.” Quill explained\n\n\tFang let out a deep sigh and dropped his head to the metal table causing a loud thump.\n\n\t“I wish I was dead right now.” Fang said crying. He started banging his head on the table. Quill quickly held Fang’s head down to stop him.\n\t“Stop it Fang. No. No you don’t wish you were dead. Fang trust me here. Vapor loves you. She loves you very much. She’s your wife and your mate. You two will overcome this. I promise. It will be a tough road though.” Quill replied and let go of his head.\n\t“If you think so.” Fang said slamming his head into the metal table again.\n\t“Fang! Stop it NOW.” Quill scowled grabbing hold of Fang’s head again.\n\t“Fang, I see nothing but love in Vapor’s eyes for you. Every time I see Vapor around you she’s smiling, she’s got you embraced in a hug or kissing you or wrapped in your tail or you in her tail. She loves you more than anything else. She will forgive you. It will take time though.” Quill stated.\n\t“Sure.” Fang replied. \n\n\tQuill let out a sigh. A few minutes passed in silence.\n\n\t“Come on. I’m freezing and you’re shivering like a wet cat. Plus I’m starving.” Quill stated. The two got up and headed back to the car. Quill stopped at the front of the car and placed his paw on Fang’s shoulder, stopping him.\n\n\t“Fang, don’t fuck up again. Your mom nor Vapor will not give you another chance. Understood?” Quill warned.\n\t“Yes.” Fang replied quietly. Quill turned to go to the drivers door. Fang grabbed his arm and stopped him causing Quill to turn back around.\n\n\t“What?” Quill asked.\n\t“Quill, I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I’m a fuck up.” Fang cried out.\n\t“Fang. You’re not a fuck up. You and Pepper made a mistake. As I said, Vapor will forgive you. You need to give her time to do so.” Quill stated.\n\t“And you?” Fang asked.\n\t“It doesn’t matter what I think.” Quill said. Fang looked up at Quill.\n\t“It matters to me Quill. TO ME! You’re the closest thing that I have to a father. I view you as a dad. I look up to you for everything. You’ve been there for me and all of us for the longest. You’ve taught me stuff that mom isn’t able to. You’ve been there for me so many times. Your opinion matters to me.” Fang said with tears in his eyes.\n\n\t“Fang. I’ve already forgiven you.” Quill said embracing Fang into a hug. Fang started crying in Quill’s arms. A few minutes passed. A few furs walked by and stared at the two while passing by.\n\n\t“Come on. You wouldn’t want your friends to see you like this do you? A battle scarred wolf, crying like a pup.” Quill said softly. Fang pulled out of the embrace and wiped the tears off of his face.\n\n\t“Let’s go and eat. I’m starving and freezing with this foot of snow on the ground.” Fang said walking to the door.\n\n***\n\n\tA couple of hours later, Quill pulled into the driveway. Both of them got out of the car and headed inside.\n\n\tUpon entering Onai and Luna came running up to them. Onai jumped up into Fang’s arms and Luna tried to jump up to Quill, he bent down and picked her up. Vapor and Pepper was in the living room. Willow was in the kitchen cooking dinner.\n\n\t“Daddy Home.” Onai said nuzzling Fang’s neck.\n\t“Hi buddy.” Fang said quietly.\n\t“Hi kids” Quill said looking over at Vapor.\n\t“Vapor. Can I talk to you outside, please?” Quill asked.\n\n\tVapor got up and followed Quill outside with Luna still in his arms. Fang sat down in a chair next to Pepper.\n\n\t“Fang. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked you to do any of that.” Pepper stated quietly.\n\t“Don’t worry about it.” Fang replied with a smile.\n\t“Did mom say anything about you being claimed?” Fang asked\n\t“Yeah. She grounded me for two months.” Pepper replied.\n\t“So, when do I get to meet your mate?” Fang asked.\n\t“Might be sooner than later. After everything that happened, I called and told him to tell his parents everything. He called me back a bit later. He said they were quite pissed and might throw him out of the house.” Pepper explained.\n\t“Does mom know that?” Fang asked.\n\t“She does. I asked her if his family kicks him out, if he could stay with us.” Pepper explained.\n\t“Well as you know, they can’t keep mates apart.” Fang commented.\n\t“Yeah, that’s what mom said. So we’ll end up having another fur here if they do throw him out.” Pepper replied with a slight smile.\n\t“At this rate, we’ll have to add on to the house, or build a house on Vapor’s old house site.” Fang said.\n\t“Mom mentioned that the house was getting too cramped.” Pepper stated.\n\t“It’s scary that her and I think the same.” Fang said with a laugh.\n\n\t“Fang. You’re grounded for… for … I have no idea how long. Two months. Six months. A year. Five years. I don’t know. I’ll figure it out later.” Willow spoke up behind them.\n\n\tBoth Pepper and Fang jumped from her sudden voice.\n\n\t“Fair enough mom. But what about those movie tickets that I bought for Vapor and me. It’s a theater release only. Would you let us still go, please?” Fang asked.\n\t“If Vapor still wants to go with you. I’ll allow it. I know you spent a lot of time mowing yards and waiting in line waiting for those tickets.” Willow replied.\n\t“Thanks mom. I really am sorry. I hope that you can forgive me.” Fang stated.\n\t“I’ve already forgiven you Fang. But it’s not me that you need be worried about. It’s Vapor. She no longer trusts you. At all. Not even being around your pups or Pepper alone.” Willow explained.\n\t“Yeah. I know. I fucked up and I’ll have to fix it. It won’t be easy, I know.” Fang replied\n\t“Watch your language or I’ll add an additional year on your punishment.” Willow scowled. “And yeah, it’s going to be a long road for you Fang. Don’t screw up again.” She added and placed her paw on his muzzle and frowned at him, mostly sorrow.\n\n\tWillow returned to the kitchen. A few minutes later Vapor and Quill, with Luna still in his arms, walked in.\n\n\tVapor walked over to Fang and took Onai out of his arms and handed him to Pepper. Fang hung his head down.\n\n\t“Fang… Bedroom. Now.” Vapor commanded.\n\t“Good luck.” Quill said as Fang walked by. The two headed up stairs and closed the bedroom door.\n\n\tQuill sat down beside Pepper.\n\t“So who’s the lucky guy that claimed you?” Quill asked.\n\t“His name is Shade Marlin. He’s an otter.” Pepper explained.\n\t“I’d like to meet him sometime.” Quill stated.\n\n\tPepper’s cell phone buzzed from a text notification. She picked it up and read the text message.\n\n\t“Lucky you Uncle. You’ll get to meet him soon. Try not to scare him to death… please.” Pepper stated. Pepper stood up and sat Onai on the couch and walked into the kitchen.\n\n\t“Mom. Shade’s parents just kicked him out. He need’s a ride. Would you go and pick him up please?” Pepper asked.\n\t“Of course. You going to come with me?” Willow asked.\n\t“No. I need to talk to Fang and Vapor before Shade gets here. It’s important.” Pepper replied.\n\t“Okay. I need his address then.” Willow said.\n\n\tPepper pulled her phone out and sent his address to Willow’s phone. “Just sent you the address to your phone.” Pepper said.\n\n\t“Where will he sleep at? There’s no more bedrooms.” Pepper asked.\n\t“He’s your mate. He’ll sleep with you.” Willow replied setting a knife down and turned around to face Pepper.\n\n\t“This family is growing so fast.” Willow said. “I wouldn’t have expected to be a grandmother this soon, especially not to three grandcubs.” Willow said.\n\n\t“We won’t do anything together Mom. Thank you for picking Shade up.” Pepper said giving her a hug. Pepper left the kitchen and into the living room.\n\n\t“Quill, could you go finish dinner for mom so she can go pick up Shade please?” Pepper asked.\n\t“Sure thing kiddo.” Quill replied and then stood up. Pepper headed up stairs and knocked on Fang’s and Vapor’s door.\n\n\t“Come in.” Vapor replied. Pepper opened the door and walked in.\n\n\t“Sorry for interrupting. Just wanted to let you know that Shade is moving in. His parents just kicked him out.” Pepper stated.\n\n\t“Sorry to hear that Pepper. Maybe it’ll be good for him to be here though.” Vapor replied.\n\t“Thanks.” Pepper said and turned to leave the room.\n\t“Pepper, come and sit down. It won’t take long.” Vapor said.\n\n\tPepper stepped back and shut the door and turned around to face the two on the bed. Vapor patted the bed in between her and Fang. Pepper walked over and climbed on to the bed between them.\n\n\t“We are all family here and we need to be able to trust each other. Pepper, like I said earlier I don’t blame you, you wanted advice. Fang I am sorry for slapping you, pushing you down and trying to kick you out of the house. I love you very much. I just, I don’t know, felt betrayed that you even thought about having sex with another, no less your sister, without us talking about it.. I guess I should be happy that it wasn’t a random classmate. I know that I’ve had sex with others, but with females in heat it’s different. You know that.” Vapor explained.\n\t“Vapor, I already said that it was a stupid mistake. I would never mate with a random classmate. I haven’t felt this much hurt since you were assaulted and the night and months after my parents died.”\n\t“I should go.” Pepper said as she started to stand up.\n\t“No. Just another moment please.” Vapor stated, pulling Pepper back down on the bed.\n\t“Fang. Would you do that with our pups or Peppers future pups?”\n\t“My future pups?” Pepper said quietly.\n\t“No I wouldn’t.” Fang replied.\n\t“I forgive you but I don’t trust you. You’ll have to gain my trust back. Don’t screw this chance up. I don’t want you around Pepper or the pups alone for now.” Vapor said.\n\n\tFang dropped his ears and nodded.\n\n\t“Pepper, you asked for help. I understand that. You just wanted to know if you were fine down there. That’s fine. But agreeing to go further than that, was not okay. Especially with siblings or anyone that’s married.” Vapor explained.\n\t“Sorry Vapor. I won’t ask for help again.” Pepper replied. \n\t“Pepper No. You can ask any of us for help anytime. But it’ll be better if you ask your mom for questions about sex.” Vapor said.\n\t“Sure.” Pepper replied with a sigh.\n\t“Pepper, I understand why you asked your brother for help. You didn’t want to tell your mom about you having your boyfriend claiming you and then trying to have sex. I know it’s scary to talk to parents about that.” Vapor explained pulling Pepper into a hug.\n\n\t“Thanks. I guess.” Pepper replied quietly.\n\t“Pepper. Don’t let this put you off from trying again with your mate. If he’s good to you, he’ll take his time and help you. If not, let me know and I’ll beat him up.” Vapor said with a smile.\n\t“Thanks Vapor.” Pepper replied with a slight smile. “I’m going back downstairs. I want to be down there when Shade shows up.” Pepper stated.\n\t“Pepper. If you have any questions about girl functions, you can ask me anytime. Okay?” Vapor said.\n\t“Thanks.” Pepper replied.\n\t“We’ll meet you down there in a few minute.” Vapor said. Pepper got off the bed and left the room closing the door behind her.\n\t“So. Where does this leave us?” Fang asked.\n\t“Where we’ve always been at, just without me trusting you.” Vapor said then kissed Fang on his muzzle.\n\t“Come on, let’s go down so we can meet the new family member when he arrives.” Vapor added.\n\n\t“Sure. I’ll be down in a few minutes. You go ahead.” Fang replied with tears welling in his eyes.\n\n\tVapor stepped off the stairs and walked into the living room. Pepper was sitting on the couch with Onai, Luna on each side of her and Laika in her arms with a bottle feeding her. \n\n\tA few minutes later Fang walked to the kitchen to talk to his mom. When he entered Quill was cooking.\n\n\t“Where’s mom at Quill?” Fang asked.\n\t“She drove to go pickup Pepper’s boyfriend. She left about five minutes ago.”\n\t“Oh okay. Thanks.” Fang replied.\n\t“How did things go with Vapor?” Quill asked.\n\n\t“I don’t know. I’m alive and not a bloody ball of fur. She forgave me, so she says. She no longer trusts me, as you said. Doesn’t want me around Pepper or my pups alone. Said that I have to gain her trust back. How I’m supposed to do that, I don’t know.” Fang explained.\n\t“Just be there for her Fang.” Quill replied.\n\t“I’ll do my best. Sorry about snarling and cursing at you at the park.” Fang replied.\n\t“It’s fine Fang. You was upset, scared, fearful, trying processing everything, confused. All the emotions.” Quill said.\n\t“Thanks Quill.” Fang said and then left the kitchen and returned to the living room. He sat down in a chair on the opposite side of the room of Vapor. Luna slid off the couch and ran over and jumped in Fang’s lap.\n\n\t“I love you Daddy.” Luna said giving Fang a hug.\n\t“I love you too sweetie.” Fang said rubbing her back for a few moments.\n\t“Luna come over here.” Vapor commanded. Luna looked up at her dad. “Go.” He said quietly. Luna smiled and then slid off of Fang’s lap and walked over and climbed back onto the couch next to Vapor. Fang dropped his head down, feeling betrayed. A few silent moments later Fang got up and started to leave the living room, head hung down staring at the floor. As he walked by Vapor she grabbed his paw and pulled him towards her and pulled him into her lap. Vapor embraced Fang in a hug and wrapped her tail around him.\n\n\t“Fang. That and I knew you’d get up and head upstairs. Then I could grab you and pull you into my lap.” Vapor said then nuzzled his neck again.\n\n\tTen minutes passed and the garage door opened. A minute later the door opened and Willow walked in, behind her was Shade. Shade had six boxes and two suitcases of stuff piled into the trunk and back seat.\n\n\t“Welcome to our house Shade. Everyone is probably in the living room. Follow me.” Willow said.\n\n\tWillow walked down the small hallway, passing by the closed kitchen door, which opened up to the large living room.\n\n\tPepper handed Laika to Fang before she jumped up and ran over to Shade.\n\n\t“Shade! Welcome … What the hell happened to you, Shade?” Pepper shouted out worried.\n\n\t“My dad hit me multiple times after they kicked me out. I had finished packing and taking everything outside. I went back in one last time to check if I had left anything. I was heading out the door but he pulled me back in and started hitting me. Punching me. He stopped when your mom’s car pulled up. I ran out of the house crying and bleeding. Willow got me in the car and got my stuff into the car. She drove down the road then stopped and helped clean the blood off of my face.” Shade replied.\n\n\t“My god. I’m so sorry Shade.” Pepper replied giving him a hug and kiss. Shade blushed from being kissed by Pepper in front of others.\n\t“Come on, I’ll introduce you to everyone.” Pepper said pulling Shade to the middle of the living room.\n\t“Thank you Ms. Wolfe for picking me up and helping me clean up.” Shade said as he was being pulled away.\n\t“No problem. I’ll see you in a bit. They’ll take care of you. Fang, in a bit help him with his stuff. He’ll be sleeping in Pepper’s room.” Willow said and then headed back to the kitchen.\n\n\t“We get to sleep together?” Shade whispered to Pepper.\n\t“Yeah we do.” Pepper replied with a smile.\n\n\t“Okay, so this is my brother, Fang. He’s a goofball. His wife and mate, Vapor. She’s awesome. This is Luna, Onai-Sköll, Onai for short, and Laika. All three are Fang and Vapor’s pups.” Pepper explained.\n\n\tFang stood up handing Laika to Vapor. He walked up to Shade and circled him a few times.\n\n\tShade is one and a half feet shorter than Fang, not very muscular, but has a strong tail that can swipe most furs off their feet.\n\n\t“So you’re the one that claimed my precious little sister and hurt her while trying to have sex?” Fang said bearing his teeth while in front of Shade, but once behind him gave Vapor and Pepper a wink.\n\n\t“I’m… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt her. It won’t happen again. I promise.” Shade said shaking.\n\n\tFang circled Shade once more and then stopped behind him and spun him around.\n\n\t“You see… I’m not really the one you have to be worried about.” Fang said pulling Shade into a hug.\n\n\t“Who? Your mom?” Shade whimpered out.\n\t“No! Him.” Fang said as he spun Shade around 180 degrees.\n\n\tQuill stood tall in front of Shade. Shade yelped then ran and hid behind Pepper, shaking.\n\n\t“Fang! You fucking jerk! That was mean!” Pepper shouted taking Shade into her arms. Fang burst into laughter.\n\t“Is this how you’re trying to gain my trust again?” Vapor asked unamused.\n\t“Sorry. I couldn’t help myself.” Fang replied with a chuckle. Quill walked over to Shade and let out a laugh.\n\n\t“Don’t worry. I’m harmless. I promise.” Quill said holding his paw out.\n\n\tShade shakily extended his paw and shook Quill’s paw.\n\n\t“Your eye okay?” Quill asked\n\t“Father… hit me. Are you… their…” Shade paused for a few seconds. “red eyes. Umm… sorry…” Shade stuttered out.\n\n\t“Am I their dad?” Quill asked. Shade nodded his head still staring into Quills blood red eyes.\n\t“No. I’m their uncle. You can call me Quill. Willow told me about what happened to your eye. Come over here and let me look at it.” Quill stated still shaking paws with Shade.\n\t“Nice to, umm, meet you.” Shade replied still shaking. Shade let go of Quill’s paw. Quill sat in a chair and Shade walked up to him. Quill looked at Shade’s eye and had him follow his finger.\n\t“Your eye seems to be okay. You didn’t jump or wince when I touched around your eye. So your eye socket isn’t broken. It’s badly bruised though. It’ll take a few weeks or a month to heal up completely. It’s going to be painful, so be prepared for that.” Quill said.\n\n\t“Ms. Wolfe already looked at it in the car. She said that it looked okay and that she would deal with it tomorrow. Whatever she meant by that.” Shade replied.\n\n\t“I’ll let you all get back to talking. I’ll be in the kitchen helping Willow.” Quill stated and started to walk away but then stopped.\n\t“Fang, that’s not a good way to gain trust back from anyone.” Quill replied and then headed back into the kitchen.\n\n\t“Sorry Shade. I couldn’t help myself. Everyone that meets Quill for the first time gets scared. Especially if it’s sudden like that. He doesn’t hurt anyone, unless they try to hurt him, family or friends.” Fang said to Shade patting him on the back.\n\n\t“Welcome to the family Shade.” Fang added. “Really love the tail.”\n\t“Thanks.” Shade replied.\n\t“Fang, we probably should tell him.” Pepper suggested.\n\t“You haven’t told him?” Fang asked.\n\t“No. I was and still am afraid of what he’ll say.” Pepper stated.\n\t“If he truly loves you, he’ll understand.” Fang said.\n\n\t“Tell me what?” Shade asked confused. The three of them took a seat and explained what happened after Shade’s and Pepper first attempt. Shade sat in the chair, staring at Pepper with an empty gaze.\n\n\t“So it was just to help Pepper figure out if she was normal down there?” Shade asked.\n\t“Yeah it was. And it won’t happen again. I promise. It’s caused far too many issues today. I’m sure you can feel the tension in the air.”\n\t“Yeah I can.” Shade stated and rubbed his neck.\n\n\t“I hope you aren’t upset with me or at least not too much. But if you are, I understand. Just don’t distrust or hate Pepper because of it.” Fang commented.\n\n\tShade stood up and walked over to front of Pepper’s chair. He took her paw and stood her up and then embraced her in a hug.\n\n\t“I would never hate her. I know it worried her a lot after we tried. I’ll be honest, I’d rather it be someone she really trusts that she asked and not some random fur.” Shade exclaimed still embracing Pepper in a hug.\n\t“Fang, I’m not upset with you. You clearly love and protect her.” Shade added.\n\t“Thanks.” Fang replied.\n\n\tPepper nuzzled Shade's neck and then kissed him on his muzzle.\n\t“Thank you for understanding that it was just a terrible and stupid mistake on both of us. Fang and me I mean.” Pepper said to Shade.\n\n\tVapor sat beside Fang, she sat Onai down on the couch and motioned for Fang to sit on her lap. He moved over and sat on her lap. She wrapped her tail around Fang and Luna in his arms.\n\n\tA short time later Willow called out from the kitchen that dinner was ready. Vapor took Laika in arms, Fang, Pepper, Onai, Luna and Shade all pile into the kitchen and tried to sit down.\n\n\t“Hmm. Table isn’t large enough for us all.” Willow stated the obvious.\n\t“I’ll stand and eat.” Shade said.\n\t“No. You take my seat.” Fang said as he pushed Shade into his chair.\n\t“But…” Shade stated before being cutoff.\n\t“Yes buts are for sitting. So sit.” Fang commanded as he pushed Shade into the chair. “Stay. Good boy.” He added then patted Shade’s head.\n\n\tVapor looked at Fang and gave him a smile. The growing family filled their plates and started eating. Willow and Quill asking Shade about him, his history, school grades, what he likes, dislikes, hobbies and more.\n\n\t“Shade, so you’re father hit you. Did he do that often?” Quill asked.\n\t“Yes. All the time.” Shade replied quietly.\n\t“Willow and I spoke about it. When I take you down to the police station tomorrow we can file a complaint for the abuse, if you want. We have to head there for the courthouse to get you and Pepper’s paperwork for you claiming her and you moving into our house.” Quill commented.\n\n\t“I don’t want to cause any trouble with anyone here. But he’s been like that for as long as I can remember. My mom isn’t much better either. I don’t know what they would try to do if I told the police about it all.” Shade explained.\n\t“Just think it over for the night. You can decide on it tomorrow. During the process of the paperwork for the claiming, and move, your parents will have to sign the papers. The police will contact them to come down to the station while we are there. If they don’t show up or say no, they will be brought in with handcuffs on. All signatures have to be completed at the same time.” Quill explained.\n\n\t“I don’t know if I want to see them. I’m really scared of them.” Shade replied quietly.\n\t“Don’t worry, Shade. Quill will protect you from them and so will I.” Pepper said giving a smile.\n\t“Thank you.” Shade replied.\n\n\tEveryone continued eating and talking about random things.\n\n\t“Fang. I hope you don’t mind me asking. But how did you get those scars on your eye?” Shade asked quietly.\n\t“I got these in Kindergarten. A tiger decided to fight me at recess. You want to see the other scars?” Fang asked.\n\t“Other scars?” Shade asked looking up in surprise. Fang sat his plate on the counter and pulled his shirt off. Shade's eyes grew wide.\n\t“Wow. Lots of scars. You get those protecting Pepper and Vapor?” Shade asked.\n\t“No.” Fang said putting his shirt back on.\n\t“Earlier this school year. That tiger, from Kindergarten, moved back to town. He found me in school and tore me up pretty badly. I nearly died from the assault. My lungs and stomach was ripped open. Vapor saved my life.” Fang explained.\n\t“Oh wait… Yeah, I remember Pepper telling me that. Sorry to hear that you went through that. What happened to that tiger?” Shade said.\n\t“He’s currently in Juvenal detention until he’s 18. He’ll be released if he has good behavior. If not, he’ll be in prison for five 30 year sentences after that. The judge was going to send him to prison directly after he got out of Juvenal detention. I asked for leniency, based on his behavior and rehabilitation while he is there.” Fang explained.\n\t“That was nice of you to do.” Shade replied. Fang nodded his head as he took a bite of food.\n\t“I hope he does good and hope that he changes while he’s in there. He had a bad childhood according to his testimony and prior police reports for disturbances at his house.” Fang replied.\n\n\tEveryone finished their dinner. Willow reminded Pepper that she was grounded and that she had dish washing duty. Everyone put their plates in the sink. Willow and Quill left the kitchen and headed to the living room. Fang and Vapor got the pups cleaned up and placed Luna and Onai on the floor, who ran off to the living room. Fang and Vapor followed shortly after with Laika in Vapor’s arms. Pepper started washing dishes. Shade stayed behind and helped her.\n\n\t“So you sure that your mom don’t mind me staying here?” Shade asked with worry in his eyes.\n\t“Trust me. If she didn’t want you here, you wouldn’t be here right now.” Pepper replied, handing a plate to Shade.\n\n\tTen minutes passed while Pepper washed the dishes while they talked. Shade dried them off and put them up, with guidance from Pepper. After Shade put up the last glass in the cabinet and closed the door, Pepper turned him around to face her and starting kissing him.\n\n\t“Ahem” sounded out. Shade jumped back away from the kiss that he was sharing with Pepper. Shade’s eyes widen in fear when he noticed that it was Willow standing there in the kitchen doorway.\n\t“S… Sorry Ms. Wolfe. I won’t do it again.” Shade exclaimed blushing.\n\t“Shade, I don’t mind you being here or you kissing my daughter. You two are mates. You can kiss her anytime you want to. But I have rules for you both. Understood?” Willow stated.\n\t“Yes.” Both replied.\n\t“Shade, you didn’t have to help her with dishes. It’s her punishment.” Willow stated.\n\t“I don’t mind helping. It gave us time to talk and catch up on everything that’s happened.” Shade explained\n\t“Very well. Just don’t help out every time. It wouldn’t be much of a punishment now would it?” Willow stated with a smile.\n\t“How did you know that I asked if you were okay with me staying here?” Shade asked.\n\t“The door is open and you can hear stuff pretty well in this house.” Willow replied.\n\t“Oh.” Shade replied and turned red.\n\t“You two follow me. We have quite a bit to talk about.” Willow said. The two followed Willow up the stairs to her bedroom.\n\n***\n\n\t“No Fang. Sleep elsewhere.” Vapor scowled.\n\t“Vapor?” Fang said quietly standing by the bed.\n\t“I told you I didn’t want you sleeping with me tonight. Now go out and go away.” Vapor said and turned over facing away from him and the door.\n\n\tFang sighed as his tail dropped down between his legs. He opened the door and stepped out into the hallway. “I love you.” He said as he looked back at Vapor then closed the door. He walked down the short hallway and turned the corner heading back to his old bedroom. Onai and Luna were both sound asleep in their bed. He smiled at them then closed the door. He headed downstairs and sat on the couch. His mom looked over at him. He was silently crying, tears streamed down his face. “Fang, sweetie, are you okay?” Willow asked and moved over by him. He shook his head no and wiped the tears away.\n\t“Vapor wouldn’t let me sleep with her. Doesn’t want me in the room. Can I sleep in your bed tonight please?” Fang explained and asked.\n\t“Sure you can baby. Don’t hate her for it, she’s just trying to make sense of all of this.” Willow replied.\n\t“I know she is mom. It hurts though being told to go away by the one that I love.” Fang said.\n\t“I know it does. She’ll get over it soon. Give her some time.” Willow said and then kissed him on his head then hugged him.\n\t“Thanks mom. I’m going to head up and get some sleep.” Fang said.\n\t“Goodnight sweetie. I love you.” Willow replied.\n\t“Love you too mom.” Fang replied and then headed upstairs.\n\n***\n\n\tShade turned onto his side in bed and faced the wall on the opposite side of the room. He laid on the bed left of Pepper, who was up against the wall. As the minutes ticked by he sighed and sat up in the bed. He looked over at Pepper who was asleep, drool coming from the side of her mouth. The only noise in the room was Pepper’s breathing, almost a snore. With another sigh Shade moved the sheets off of him and sat his legs off the edge of the bed. He looked at the clock on the desk, it showed two AM. A moment passed before he stood up and left the room quietly. In the bathroom he looked at himself in the mirror. He bent over and splashed water on his face for a few moments then he lifted back up. In the mirror, standing behind him was Pepper in a sleep daze. Startled, Shade jumped and turned around quickly.\n\n\t“Hi Shade.” Pepper said with a smile in her sleep then moved over to the toilet.\n\n\tShade watched in silence as she pulled her panties down and sat on the toilet. She sat there for a few moments peeing. The room was silent other than Pepper’s pee splashing into the water in the toilet. After a minute she grabbed a couple of sheets of toilet paper and cleaned herself. She then left the room not saying anything else.\n\n\tShade let out the breath that he had been holding the entire time. He flushed the toilet for Pepper and left the room. He walked downstairs and sat on the couch. The house was silent save from a clock or two ticking by the seconds. He sat in the dark before he finally found the TV remote. Pressing the power button and held the volume down button and then started pressing it rapidly as the TV turned on. The room filled with bright white light and he closed his eyes slightly so they could adjust. He laid on the couch and watched Boomerang channel, Tom and Jerry was on. At some point he fell asleep.\n\n\t“Shade. Wake up.” A voice said shaking his body. Shade opened his eyes. Willow stood above him. He sat up and moved over. Willow sat down beside him.\n\t“Everything okay?” Willow asked.\n\t“Huh? What?” Shade asked looking around confused.\n\t“Are you okay?” Willow asked.\n\t“Oh yeah. I couldn’t get to sleep. So I came down here to watch TV. Sorry. I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” Shade stated.\n\t“It’s okay.” Willow replied and rubbed the back of his head.\n\t“I feel weird. I don’t know.” Shade stated.\n\t“You need time to adjust. This is a major change in your life. A sudden change. You’ll get used to it within a few days.” Willow explained.\n\t“I didn’t wake you with the TV did I?” Shade asked.\n\t“No you didn’t. I came down to start breakfast.” Willow replied.\n\t“This early?” Shade asked. Willow chuckled a few times.\n\t“I think you slept longer than you think. It’s past seven AM. The sun will rise shortly.” Willow replied with another chuckle.\n\t“Oh.” Shade replied.\n\t“Go back to sleep. You can stay down here if you want to.” Willow replied.\n\t“Thanks.” Shade replied and laid back down. He quickly fell back asleep.\n\n***\n\nDecember 31, 2018\n\n\tA few hours after breakfast, Quill came over and took Pepper and Shade to the administration office at the police station. They spent an hour filling out the paperwork for the claim.\n\n\t“Shade have you thought about reporting the abuse by your parents and the black eye?” Quill asked.\n\t“I have. I don’t want to. I don’t want them to try to do anything else to me or anything to Pepper’s family.” Shade replied.\n\t“Okay. We’re not going pressure you into doing it.” Quill replied.\n\t“Thanks.” Shade replied.\n\t“They should be here at anytime. If you do change your mind, let me know okay.” Quill stated.\n\n\tQuill, Pepper and Shade waited at the station for the next five hours for his parents to show up. A police officer bought the three of them lunch from his favorite restaurant. After multiple calls and no shows, the police drove to their house and picked up Shade’s parents. Once at the station they refused to sign the paperwork multiple times, causing scenes, cursing and berating their son. After multiple attempts to get them to sign the paperwork, the police reminded them that they cannot keep mates apart from each other. They still refused to sign. Shade sighed and tugged on Quill’s jacket. Quill bent down to near Shade’s head.\n\n\t“Quill, I think I will press charges. I’m tired of being here.” Shade whispered to Quill.\n\t“Officers, Shade has something he wants to say.” Quill said.\n\n\t“My father is the one who gave me the black eye and all of the bruises that you see on my body. If they don’t sign the papers right now, I want to press charges for cub abuse. For everything over the past six years. I remember everything.” Shade stated.\n\t“You would really do that to us Shade? How despicable of you. You stupid fucking cub.” Shade's father said rushing up to Shade with his paw raised.\n\n\tQuill immediately walked in between the two and glared down at the otter, who stopped and moved backwards. Quill’s eyes started glowing brightly as his rage increased.\n\n\t“You’ve hit me hundreds if not thousands of times over the years. You gave me a black eye because I claimed the girl that I love. I claimed her the way of the wolf. You barely gave me enough to survive. Bought me very little clothes. Only let me eat very little food. Verbally and physically abused me. Often locked me outside in the backyard at nights and in the rain and snow. I’m done with you both. I hope you both rot in whatever hole you find yourselves in.” Shade shouted.\n\n\t“Fuck this. We don’t want anything to do you with anymore.” His mother stated.\n\t“[b]THEN SIGN THE GOD DAMNED FUCKING PAPERS YOU PIECES OF FUCKING SHIT ASSHOLES![/b]” Shade screamed loudly. He continued his onslaught of vulgar filled words for the next half minute. \n\n\tThe police, Pepper and Quill both stared at Shade as he finally vented all of his frustrations and rage out all at once. He dropped down to his legs hyperventilating and crying. Both his parents signed the papers and said they didn’t want to see him again and left immediately.\n\n\t“You still want us to pursue them on the abuse?” A officer asked.\n\t“Yes. I want to press full charges against them, for everything fucking thing that you can. You saw he tried to hit me just a few minutes ago.” Shade said as he stood back up. His body shaking uncontrollably. “I don’t want anything to do with them anymore.” Shade added. Pepper hugged and kissed him for a few seconds and then let out of it.\n\n\tTwo officers ran out the doors to catch the otter pair. A minute later they were escorted back into the station in handcuffs. While walking past the group, both of them started barraging Shade with sentences full of bad language, hate and death threats. Many words Pepper nor Shade had never heard before.\n\n\tPepper pulled Shade into a hug, trying to protect him from the harsh words.\n\t“Are we done here?” Shade asked.\n\t“Almost. Once you and Pepper turn twelve you two can have your ceremony for marriage or wait until you’re both older. I need to get a picture of your eye and other bruises and also an official statement of all the abuse. Everything that you can remember. If you have dates that would be helpful as well.” The officer stated.\n\n\t“Let’s get it over with.” Shade sighed. The officer took his camera and walked around to them. The officer escorted him to a back room, Pepper followed while Quill waited in the lobby. In the room the officer explained to Shade what he needed. Pepper sat in a chair and watched as Shade striped down. His body was covered in bruises that ranged from days to months old. The officer took pictures of Shade’s eye and of the two dozen bruises. After he got dressed the officer gave him statement papers. Shade sat there writing everything he could remember. After he finished Pepper and Shade walked back in to the lobby and handed the officer the near one inch stack. Half an hour later the three of them walked out of the town’s administration building and started to head home.\n\n\t“We’re official mates now. I’m so happy Shade.” Pepper said leaning over and kissing him on the muzzle.\n\t“Me too Pepper. I love you.” Shade replied with a smile.\n\t“I love you too.” Pepper replied. They sat in silence for just a couple of minutes.\n\t“Quill, is there a way that I can drop or change my name? I rather not carry their last name anymore.\n\t“Do you have an idea for a name?” Quill asked.\n\t“No. Not right now.” Shade replied then looked down at the floorboard.\n\t“Well you two should think about it. It’ll affect you both in the future. Pepper will take whatever last name you have. After that talk to Willow about it.” Quill explained.\n\t“Thank You, Quill.” Shade replied.\n\n\tThe three of them drove home, stopping at McAnimals to stave off their grumbling stomachs.\n\n***\n\n\tA few weeks later Shade sat in the living room when Willow walked in the front door.\n\n\t“Willow can I talk to you about something?” Shade asked. Willow walked over to a chair and sat down.\n\t“Sure Shade.” Willow replied.\n\t“I’d like to see if I can change both of my names. I don’t want to have the name that my parents gave me.” Shade said.\n\n\t“But Shade is such a nice name though.” Willow said.\n\t“Shade is a nickname, my first name is Wiley.” Shade replied.\n\t“Wait, did you put Wiley or Shade on the claim papers?” Willow asked.\n\t“I put down Shade Marlin. Why?” He asked.\n\t“Those were legal documents. It should have been your real name. We’ll have to contact the police station to change it to the correct name.” Willow explained.\n\t“Well, what if we get my first name changed to Shade instead. Would it make it easier?” He asked.\n\t“I doubt it since you want to change both first and last name. I need to let the administration office know of the mix up with your name though. I’ll talk to you about this in a bit, okay?” Willow said.\n\n\t“Okay. Sorry about that Willow.” Shade apologized.\n\t“No worries. Have you thought of a new last name?” Willow asked.\n\t“Yeah. Pepper thinks it’s cute. Squigglestail.” Shade replied.\n\t“It is cute. Shade Squigglestail” Willow replied with a chuckle.\n\t“Thanks.” Shade replied and blushed.\n\t“I’ll make a phone call tomorrow and get information for changing your name.” Willow added.\n\t“Thanks Willow.” Shade replied.\n\n***\n\nFebruary 20, 2018\n\n\tA month later Willow walked into Shade and Pepper’s bedroom. The two of them were laying down cuddling.\n\n\t“Did you two just…” Willow asked being cut off by Pepper.\n\t“No, we didn’t have sex.” Pepper stated.\n\t“You need to try to control that erection of yours Shade.” Willow stated.\n\t“Sorry. I can’t help it.” Shade replied covering up.\n\t“Good news Shade, your name change was approved. You are now Shade Squigglestail.” Willow replied and Pepper giggled. \n\t“Good to hear. It didn’t take long either.” Shade replied.\n\t“Keeping with the good news. You won’t have to show up to court for the abuse.” Willow stated.\n\t“Why not?” Shade asked leaning up.\n\t“The police put in an informant prisoner in your dad’s cell with him. He spilled his guts out about the abuse and gloated about it. Saying that he would do it again if he could and make it much worse. Your mom did pretty much the same. The were pulled into court and then forced to listen to their confessions. They both plead guilty and the judge sentenced them to forty years in prison for cub abuse. They are up for parole in twenty years. But I honestly don’t think they’ll make it that long. Prisoner’s don’t take too kindly to furs who beat and abuse cubs. They’ll be beaten daily most likely. Your mom will be going to a female prison and father will be in the state prison. Both prisons have some of the most heinous murderers, rapist and serial killers there. You’ll be safe from them for life.” Willow explained.\n\t“Think they’ll be killed?” Shade asked.\n\t“It’s a possibility, especially when prisoner’s find out they beat and abused a cub under the age of ten.” Willow replied.\n\t“Good riddance. I hope they die screaming in pure fucking pain.” Shade replied.\n\t“I don’t agree with what you just said, but I fully understand why. I’ve got all of your paperwork. New ID, new birth certificate and everything else. \t“Fang, don’t fuck up again. Your mom nor Vapor will not give you another chance. Understood?” Quill warned.
\t“Yes.” Fang replied quietly. Quill turned to go to the drivers door. Fang grabbed his arm and stopped him causing Quill to turn back around.

\t“What?” Quill asked.
\t“Quill, I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I’m a fuck up.” Fang cried out.
\t“Fang. You’re not a fuck up. You and Pepper made a mistake. As I said, Vapor will forgive you. You need to give her time to do so.” Quill stated.
\t“And you?” Fang asked.
\t“It doesn’t matter what I think.” Quill said. Fang looked up at Quill.
\t“It matters to me Quill. TO ME! You’re the closest thing that I have to a father. I view you as a dad. I look up to you for everything. You’ve been there for me and all of us for the longest. You’ve taught me stuff that mom isn’t able to. You’ve been there for me so many times. Your opinion matters to me.” Fang said with tears in his eyes.

\t“Fang. I’ve already forgiven you.” Quill said embracing Fang into a hug. Fang started crying in Quill’s arms. A few minutes passed. A few furs walked by and stared at the two while passing by.

\t“Come on. You wouldn’t want your friends to see you like this do you? A battle scarred wolf, crying like a pup.” Quill said softly. Fang pulled out of the embrace and wiped the tears off of his face.

\t“Let’s go and eat. I’m starving and freezing with this foot of snow on the ground.” Fang said walking to the door.

\tA couple of hours later, Quill pulled into the driveway. Both of them got out of the car and headed inside.

\tUpon entering Onai and Luna came running up to them. Onai jumped up into Fang’s arms and Luna tried to jump up to Quill, he bent down and picked her up. Vapor and Pepper was in the living room. Willow was in the kitchen cooking dinner.

\t“Daddy Home.” Onai said nuzzling Fang’s neck.
\t“Hi buddy.” Fang said quietly.
\t“Hi kids” Quill said looking over at Vapor.
\t“Vapor. Can I talk to you outside, please?” Quill asked.

\tVapor got up and followed Quill outside with Luna still in his arms. Fang sat down in a chair next to Pepper.

\t“Fang. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked you to do any of that.” Pepper stated quietly.
\t“Don’t worry about it.” Fang replied with a smile.
\t“Did mom say anything about you being claimed?” Fang asked
\t“Yeah. She grounded me for two months.” Pepper replied.
\t“So, when do I get to meet your mate?” Fang asked.
\t“Might be sooner than later. After everything that happened, I called and told him to tell his parents everything. He called me back a bit later. He said they were quite pissed and might throw him out of the house.” Pepper explained.
\t“Does mom know that?” Fang asked.
\t“She does. I asked her if his family kicks him out, if he could stay with us.” Pepper explained.
\t“Well as you know, they can’t keep mates apart.” Fang commented.
\t“Yeah, that’s what mom said. So we’ll end up having another fur here if they do throw him out.” Pepper replied with a slight smile.
\t“At this rate, we’ll have to add on to the house, or build a house on Vapor’s old house site.” Fang said.
\t“Mom mentioned that the house was getting too cramped.” Pepper stated.
\t“It’s scary that her and I think the same.” Fang said with a laugh.

\t“Fang. You’re grounded for… for … I have no idea how long. Two months. Six months. A year. Five years. I don’t know. I’ll figure it out later.” Willow spoke up behind them.

\tBoth Pepper and Fang jumped from her sudden voice.

\t“Fair enough mom. But what about those movie tickets that I bought for Vapor and me. It’s a theater release only. Would you let us still go, please?” Fang asked.
\t“If Vapor still wants to go with you. I’ll allow it. I know you spent a lot of time mowing yards and waiting in line waiting for those tickets.” Willow replied.
\t“Thanks mom. I really am sorry. I hope that you can forgive me.” Fang stated.
\t“I’ve already forgiven you Fang. But it’s not me that you need be worried about. It’s Vapor. She no longer trusts you. At all. Not even being around your pups or Pepper alone.” Willow explained.
\t“Yeah. I know. I fucked up and I’ll have to fix it. It won’t be easy, I know.” Fang replied
\t“Watch your language or I’ll add an additional year on your punishment.” Willow scowled. “And yeah, it’s going to be a long road for you Fang. Don’t screw up again.” She added and placed her paw on his muzzle and frowned at him, mostly sorrow.

\tWillow returned to the kitchen. A few minutes later Vapor and Quill, with Luna still in his arms, walked in.

\tVapor walked over to Fang and took Onai out of his arms and handed him to Pepper. Fang hung his head down.

\t“Fang… Bedroom. Now.” Vapor commanded.
\t“Good luck.” Quill said as Fang walked by. The two headed up stairs and closed the bedroom door.

\tQuill sat down beside Pepper.
\t“So who’s the lucky guy that claimed you?” Quill asked.
\t“His name is Shade Marlin. He’s an otter.” Pepper explained.
\t“I’d like to meet him sometime.” Quill stated.

\tPepper’s cell phone buzzed from a text notification. She picked it up and read the text message.

\t“Lucky you Uncle. You’ll get to meet him soon. Try not to scare him to death… please.” Pepper stated. Pepper stood up and sat Onai on the couch and walked into the kitchen.

\t“Mom. Shade’s parents just kicked him out. He need’s a ride. Would you go and pick him up please?” Pepper asked.
\t“Of course. You going to come with me?” Willow asked.
\t“No. I need to talk to Fang and Vapor before Shade gets here. It’s important.” Pepper replied.
\t“Okay. I need his address then.” Willow said.

\tPepper pulled her phone out and sent his address to Willow’s phone. “Just sent you the address to your phone.” Pepper said.

\t“Where will he sleep at? There’s no more bedrooms.” Pepper asked.
\t“He’s your mate. He’ll sleep with you.” Willow replied setting a knife down and turned around to face Pepper.

\t“This family is growing so fast.” Willow said. “I wouldn’t have expected to be a grandmother this soon, especially not to three grandcubs.” Willow said.

\t“We won’t do anything together Mom. Thank you for picking Shade up.” Pepper said giving her a hug. Pepper left the kitchen and into the living room.

\t“Quill, could you go finish dinner for mom so she can go pick up Shade please?” Pepper asked.
\t“Sure thing kiddo.” Quill replied and then stood up. Pepper headed up stairs and knocked on Fang’s and Vapor’s door.

\t“Come in.” Vapor replied. Pepper opened the door and walked in.

\t“Sorry for interrupting. Just wanted to let you know that Shade is moving in. His parents just kicked him out.” Pepper stated.

\t“Sorry to hear that Pepper. Maybe it’ll be good for him to be here though.” Vapor replied.
\t“Thanks.” Pepper said and turned to leave the room.
\t“Pepper, come and sit down. It won’t take long.” Vapor said.

\tPepper stepped back and shut the door and turned around to face the two on the bed. Vapor patted the bed in between her and Fang. Pepper walked over and climbed on to the bed between them.

\t“We are all family here and we need to be able to trust each other. Pepper, like I said earlier I don’t blame you, you wanted advice. Fang I am sorry for slapping you, pushing you down and trying to kick you out of the house. I love you very much. I just, I don’t know, felt betrayed that you even thought about having sex with another, no less your sister, without us talking about it.. I guess I should be happy that it wasn’t a random classmate. I know that I’ve had sex with others, but with females in heat it’s different. You know that.” Vapor explained.
\t“Vapor, I already said that it was a stupid mistake. I would never mate with a random classmate. I’m yours and yours alone.” Fang replied.
\t“Yes you made a mistake. But it’s the fact that you did what you did Fang.” Vapor said pausing for a few seconds.
\t"How can I trust you anymore?” Vapor asked quietly.
\t“I know that nothing that I say will make it better. I’ll just have to gain your trust again. I really am sorry Vapor. I didn’t mean to hurt you or anyone.” Fang replied.
\t“Yeah. You really did hurt me Fang. I haven’t felt this much hurt since you were assaulted and the night and months after my parents died.”
\t“I should go.” Pepper said as she started to stand up.
\t“No. Just another moment please.” Vapor stated, pulling Pepper back down on the bed.
\t“Fang. Would you do that with our pups or Peppers future pups?”
\t“My future pups?” Pepper said quietly.
\t“No I wouldn’t.” Fang replied.
\t“I forgive you but I don’t trust you. You’ll have to gain my trust back. Don’t screw this chance up. I don’t want you around Pepper or the pups alone for now.” Vapor said.

\tFang dropped his ears and nodded.

\t“Pepper, you asked for help. I understand that. You just wanted to know if you were fine down there. That’s fine. But agreeing to go further than that, was not okay. Especially with siblings or anyone that’s married.” Vapor explained.
\t“Sorry Vapor. I won’t ask for help again.” Pepper replied.
\t“Pepper No. You can ask any of us for help anytime. But it’ll be better if you ask your mom for questions about sex.” Vapor said.
\t“Sure.” Pepper replied with a sigh.
\t“Pepper, I understand why you asked your brother for help. You didn’t want to tell your mom about you having your boyfriend claiming you and then trying to have sex. I know it’s scary to talk to parents about that.” Vapor explained pulling Pepper into a hug.

\t“Thanks. I guess.” Pepper replied quietly.
\t“Pepper. Don’t let this put you off from trying again with your mate. If he’s good to you, he’ll take his time and help you. If not, let me know and I’ll beat him up.” Vapor said with a smile.
\t“Thanks Vapor.” Pepper replied with a slight smile. “I’m going back downstairs. I want to be down there when Shade shows up.” Pepper stated.
\t“Pepper. If you have any questions about girl functions, you can ask me anytime. Okay?” Vapor said.
\t“Thanks.” Pepper replied.
\t“We’ll meet you down there in a few minute.” Vapor said. Pepper got off the bed and left the room closing the door behind her.
\t“So. Where does this leave us?” Fang asked.
\t“Where we’ve always been at, just without me trusting you.” Vapor said then kissed Fang on his muzzle.
\t“Come on, let’s go down so we can meet the new family member when he arrives.” Vapor added.

\t“Sure. I’ll be down in a few minutes. You go ahead.” Fang replied with tears welling in his eyes.

\tVapor stepped off the stairs and walked into the living room. Pepper was sitting on the couch with Onai, Luna on each side of her and Laika in her arms with a bottle feeding her.

\tA few minutes later Fang walked to the kitchen to talk to his mom. When he entered Quill was cooking.

\t“Where’s mom at Quill?” Fang asked.
\t“She drove to go pickup Pepper’s boyfriend. She left about five minutes ago.”
\t“Oh okay. Thanks.” Fang replied.
\t“How did things go with Vapor?” Quill asked.

\t“I don’t know. I’m alive and not a bloody ball of fur. She forgave me, so she says. She no longer trusts me, as you said. Doesn’t want me around Pepper or my pups alone. Said that I have to gain her trust back. How I’m supposed to do that, I don’t know.” Fang explained.
\t“Just be there for her Fang.” Quill replied.
\t“I’ll do my best. Sorry about snarling and cursing at you at the park.” Fang replied.
\t“It’s fine Fang. You was upset, scared, fearful, trying processing everything, confused. All the emotions.” Quill said.
\t“Thanks Quill.” Fang said and then left the kitchen and returned to the living room. He sat down in a chair on the opposite side of the room of Vapor. Luna slid off the couch and ran over and jumped in Fang’s lap.

\t“I love you Daddy.” Luna said giving Fang a hug.
\t“I love you too sweetie.” Fang said rubbing her back for a few moments.
\t“Luna come over here.” Vapor commanded. Luna looked up at her dad. “Go.” He said quietly. Luna smiled and then slid off of Fang’s lap and walked over and climbed back onto the couch next to Vapor. Fang dropped his head down, feeling betrayed. A few silent moments later Fang got up and started to leave the living room, head hung down staring at the floor. As he walked by Vapor she grabbed his paw and pulled him towards her and pulled him into her lap. Vapor embraced Fang in a hug and wrapped her tail around him.

\t“Fang. I would never stop you from being able to interact with our cubs.” Vapor said nuzzling his neck.

\tFang leaned back and rested his head on Vapor’s shoulder.

\t“Then why have Luna get away from me?” Fang asked.
\t“I wanted to see how you reacted. That and I knew you’d get up and head upstairs. Then I could grab you and pull you into my lap.” Vapor said then nuzzled his neck again.

\tTen minutes passed and the garage door opened. A minute later the door opened and Willow walked in, behind her was Shade. Shade had six boxes and two suitcases of stuff piled into the trunk and back seat.

\t“Welcome to our house Shade. Everyone is probably in the living room. Follow me.” Willow said.

\tWillow walked down the small hallway, passing by the closed kitchen door, which opened up to the large living room.

\tPepper handed Laika to Fang before she jumped up and ran over to Shade.

\t“Shade! Welcome … What the hell happened to you, Shade?” Pepper shouted out worried.

\t“My dad hit me multiple times after they kicked me out. I had finished packing and taking everything outside. I went back in one last time to check if I had left anything. I was heading out the door but he pulled me back in and started hitting me. Punching me. He stopped when your mom’s car pulled up. I ran out of the house crying and bleeding. Willow got me in the car and got my stuff into the car. She drove down the road then stopped and helped clean the blood off of my face.” Shade replied.

\t“My god. I’m so sorry Shade.” Pepper replied giving him a hug and kiss. Shade blushed from being kissed by Pepper in front of others.
\t“Come on, I’ll introduce you to everyone.” Pepper said pulling Shade to the middle of the living room.
\t“Thank you Ms. Wolfe for picking me up and helping me clean up.” Shade said as he was being pulled away.
\t“No problem. I’ll see you in a bit. They’ll take care of you. Fang, in a bit help him with his stuff. He’ll be sleeping in Pepper’s room.” Willow said and then headed back to the kitchen.

\t“We get to sleep together?” Shade whispered to Pepper.
\t“Yeah we do.” Pepper replied with a smile.

\t“Okay, so this is my brother, Fang. He’s a goofball. His wife and mate, Vapor. She’s awesome. This is Luna, Onai-Sköll, Onai for short, and Laika. All three are Fang and Vapor’s pups.” Pepper explained.

\tFang stood up handing Laika to Vapor. He walked up to Shade and circled him a few times.

\tShade is one and a half feet shorter than Fang, not very muscular, but has a strong tail that can swipe most furs off their feet.

\t“So you’re the one that claimed my precious little sister and hurt her while trying to have sex?” Fang said bearing his teeth while in front of Shade, but once behind him gave Vapor and Pepper a wink.

\t“I’m… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt her. It won’t happen again. I promise.” Shade said shaking.

\tFang circled Shade once more and then stopped behind him and spun him around.

\t“You see… I’m not really the one you have to be worried about.” Fang said pulling Shade into a hug.

\t“Who? Your mom?” Shade whimpered out.
\t“No! Him.” Fang said as he spun Shade around 180 degrees.

\tQuill stood tall in front of Shade. Shade yelped then ran and hid behind Pepper, shaking.

\t“Fang! You fucking jerk! That was mean!” Pepper shouted taking Shade into her arms. Fang burst into laughter.
\t“Is this how you’re trying to gain my trust again?” Vapor asked unamused.
\t“Sorry. I couldn’t help myself.” Fang replied with a chuckle. Quill walked over to Shade and let out a laugh.

\t“Don’t worry. I’m harmless. I promise.” Quill said holding his paw out.

\tShade shakily extended his paw and shook Quill’s paw.

\t“Your eye okay?” Quill asked
\t“Father… hit me. Are you… their…” Shade paused for a few seconds. “red eyes. Umm… sorry…” Shade stuttered out.

\t“Am I their dad?” Quill asked. Shade nodded his head still staring into Quills blood red eyes.
\t“No. I’m their uncle. You can call me Quill. Willow told me about what happened to your eye. Come over here and let me look at it.” Quill stated still shaking paws with Shade.
\t“Nice to, umm, meet you.” Shade replied still shaking. Shade let go of Quill’s paw. Quill sat in a chair and Shade walked up to him. Quill looked at Shade’s eye and had him follow his finger.
\t“Your eye seems to be okay. You didn’t jump or wince when I touched around your eye. So your eye socket isn’t broken. It’s badly bruised though. It’ll take a few weeks or a month to heal up completely. It’s going to be painful, so be prepared for that.” Quill said.

\t“Ms. Wolfe already looked at it in the car. She said that it looked okay and that she would deal with it tomorrow. Whatever she meant by that.” Shade replied.

\t“I’ll let you all get back to talking. I’ll be in the kitchen helping Willow.” Quill stated and started to walk away but then stopped.
\t“Fang, that’s not a good way to gain trust back from anyone.” Quill replied and then headed back into the kitchen.

\t“Sorry Shade. I couldn’t help myself. Everyone that meets Quill for the first time gets scared. Especially if it’s sudden like that. He doesn’t hurt anyone, unless they try to hurt him, family or friends.” Fang said to Shade patting him on the back.

\t“Welcome to the family Shade.” Fang added. “Really love the tail.”
\t“Thanks.” Shade replied.
\t“Fang, we probably should tell him.” Pepper suggested.
\t“You haven’t told him?” Fang asked.
\t“No. I was and still am afraid of what he’ll say.” Pepper stated.
\t“If he truly loves you, he’ll understand.” Fang said.

\t“Tell me what?” Shade asked confused. The three of them took a seat and explained what happened after Shade’s and Pepper first attempt. Shade sat in the chair, staring at Pepper with an empty gaze.

\t“So it was just to help Pepper figure out if she was normal down there?” Shade asked.
\t“Yeah it was. And it won’t happen again. I promise. It’s caused far too many issues today. I’m sure you can feel the tension in the air.”
\t“Yeah I can.” Shade stated and rubbed his neck.

\t“I hope you aren’t upset with me or at least not too much. But if you are, I understand. Just don’t distrust or hate Pepper because of it.” Fang commented.

\tShade stood up and walked over to front of Pepper’s chair. He took her paw and stood her up and then embraced her in a hug.

\t“I would never hate her. I know it worried her a lot after we tried. I’ll be honest, I’d rather it be someone she really trusts that she asked and not some random fur.” Shade exclaimed still embracing Pepper in a hug.
\t“Fang, I’m not upset with you. You clearly love and protect her.” Shade added.
\t“Thanks.” Fang replied.

\tPepper nuzzled Shade's neck and then kissed him on his muzzle.
\t“Thank you for understanding that it was just a terrible and stupid mistake on both of us. Fang and me I mean.” Pepper said to Shade.

\tVapor sat beside Fang, she sat Onai down on the couch and motioned for Fang to sit on her lap. He moved over and sat on her lap. She wrapped her tail around Fang and Luna in his arms.

\tA short time later Willow called out from the kitchen that dinner was ready. Vapor took Laika in arms, Fang, Pepper, Onai, Luna and Shade all pile into the kitchen and tried to sit down.

\t“Hmm. Table isn’t large enough for us all.” Willow stated the obvious.
\t“I’ll stand and eat.” Shade said.
\t“No. You take my seat.” Fang said as he pushed Shade into his chair.
\t“But…” Shade stated before being cutoff.
\t“Yes buts are for sitting. So sit.” Fang commanded as he pushed Shade into the chair. “Stay. Good boy.” He added then patted Shade’s head.

\tVapor looked at Fang and gave him a smile. The growing family filled their plates and started eating. Willow and Quill asking Shade about him, his history, school grades, what he likes, dislikes, hobbies and more.

\t“Shade, so you’re father hit you. Did he do that often?” Quill asked.
\t“Yes. All the time.” Shade replied quietly.
\t“Willow and I spoke about it. When I take you down to the police station tomorrow we can file a complaint for the abuse, if you want. We have to head there for the courthouse to get you and Pepper’s paperwork for you claiming her and you moving into our house.” Quill commented.

\t“I don’t want to cause any trouble with anyone here. But he’s been like that for as long as I can remember. My mom isn’t much better either. I don’t know what they would try to do if I told the police about it all.” Shade explained.
\t“Just think it over for the night. You can decide on it tomorrow. During the process of the paperwork for the claiming, and move, your parents will have to sign the papers. The police will contact them to come down to the station while we are there. If they don’t show up or say no, they will be brought in with handcuffs on. All signatures have to be completed at the same time.” Quill explained.

\t“I don’t know if I want to see them. I’m really scared of them.” Shade replied quietly.
\t“Don’t worry, Shade. Quill will protect you from them and so will I.” Pepper said giving a smile.
\t“Thank you.” Shade replied.

\tEveryone continued eating and talking about random things.

\t“Fang. I hope you don’t mind me asking. But how did you get those scars on your eye?” Shade asked quietly.
\t“I got these in Kindergarten. A tiger decided to fight me at recess. You want to see the other scars?” Fang asked.
\t“Other scars?” Shade asked looking up in surprise. Fang sat his plate on the counter and pulled his shirt off. Shade's eyes grew wide.
\t“Wow. Lots of scars. You get those protecting Pepper and Vapor?” Shade asked.
\t“No.” Fang said putting his shirt back on.
\t“Earlier this school year. That tiger, from Kindergarten, moved back to town. He found me in school and tore me up pretty badly. I nearly died from the assault. My lungs and stomach was ripped open. Vapor saved my life.” Fang explained.
\t“Oh wait… Yeah, I remember Pepper telling me that. Sorry to hear that you went through that. What happened to that tiger?” Shade said.
\t“He’s currently in Juvenal detention until he’s 18. He’ll be released if he has good behavior. If not, he’ll be in prison for five 30 year sentences after that. The judge was going to send him to prison directly after he got out of Juvenal detention. I asked for leniency, based on his behavior and rehabilitation while he is there.” Fang explained.
\t“That was nice of you to do.” Shade replied. Fang nodded his head as he took a bite of food.
\t“I hope he does good and hope that he changes while he’s in there. He had a bad childhood according to his testimony and prior police reports for disturbances at his house.” Fang replied.

\tEveryone finished their dinner. Willow reminded Pepper that she was grounded and that she had dish washing duty. Everyone put their plates in the sink. Willow and Quill left the kitchen and headed to the living room. Fang and Vapor got the pups cleaned up and placed Luna and Onai on the floor, who ran off to the living room. Fang and Vapor followed shortly after with Laika in Vapor’s arms. Pepper started washing dishes. Shade stayed behind and helped her.

\t“So you sure that your mom don’t mind me staying here?” Shade asked with worry in his eyes.
\t“Trust me. If she didn’t want you here, you wouldn’t be here right now.” Pepper replied, handing a plate to Shade.

\tTen minutes passed while Pepper washed the dishes while they talked. Shade dried them off and put them up, with guidance from Pepper. After Shade put up the last glass in the cabinet and closed the door, Pepper turned him around to face her and starting kissing him.

\t“Ahem” sounded out. Shade jumped back away from the kiss that he was sharing with Pepper. Shade’s eyes widen in fear when he noticed that it was Willow standing there in the kitchen doorway.
\t“S… Sorry Ms. Wolfe. I won’t do it again.” Shade exclaimed blushing.
\t“Shade, I don’t mind you being here or you kissing my daughter. You two are mates. You can kiss her anytime you want to. But I have rules for you both. Understood?” Willow stated.
\t“Yes.” Both replied.
\t“Shade, you didn’t have to help her with dishes. It’s her punishment.” Willow stated.
\t“I don’t mind helping. It gave us time to talk and catch up on everything that’s happened.” Shade explained
\t“Very well. Just don’t help out every time. It wouldn’t be much of a punishment now would it?” Willow stated with a smile.
\t“How did you know that I asked if you were okay with me staying here?” Shade asked.
\t“The door is open and you can hear stuff pretty well in this house.” Willow replied.
\t“Oh.” Shade replied and turned red.
\t“You two follow me. We have quite a bit to talk about.” Willow said. The two followed Willow up the stairs to her bedroom.

\t“No Fang. Sleep elsewhere.” Vapor scowled.
\t“Vapor?” Fang said quietly standing by the bed.
\t“I told you I didn’t want you sleeping with me tonight. Now go out and go away.” Vapor said and turned over facing away from him and the door.

\tFang sighed as his tail dropped down between his legs. He opened the door and stepped out into the hallway. “I love you.” He said as he looked back at Vapor then closed the door. He walked down the short hallway and turned the corner heading back to his old bedroom. Onai and Luna were both sound asleep in their bed. He smiled at them then closed the door. He headed downstairs and sat on the couch. His mom looked over at him. He was silently crying, tears streamed down his face. “Fang, sweetie, are you okay?” Willow asked and moved over by him. He shook his head no and wiped the tears away.
\t“Vapor wouldn’t let me sleep with her. Doesn’t want me in the room. Can I sleep in your bed tonight please?” Fang explained and asked.
\t“Sure you can baby. Don’t hate her for it, she’s just trying to make sense of all of this.” Willow replied.
\t“I know she is mom. It hurts though being told to go away by the one that I love.” Fang said.
\t“I know it does. She’ll get over it soon. Give her some time.” Willow said and then kissed him on his head then hugged him.
\t“Thanks mom. I’m going to head up and get some sleep.” Fang said.
\t“Goodnight sweetie. I love you.” Willow replied.
\t“Love you too mom.” Fang replied and then headed upstairs.

\tShade turned onto his side in bed and faced the wall on the opposite side of the room. He laid on the bed left of Pepper, who was up against the wall. As the minutes ticked by he sighed and sat up in the bed. He looked over at Pepper who was asleep, drool coming from the side of her mouth. The only noise in the room was Pepper’s breathing, almost a snore. With another sigh Shade moved the sheets off of him and sat his legs off the edge of the bed. He looked at the clock on the desk, it showed two AM. A moment passed before he stood up and left the room quietly. In the bathroom he looked at himself in the mirror. He bent over and splashed water on his face for a few moments then he lifted back up. In the mirror, standing behind him was Pepper in a sleep daze. Startled, Shade jumped and turned around quickly.

\t“Hi Shade.” Pepper said with a smile in her sleep then moved over to the toilet.

\tShade watched in silence as she pulled her panties down and sat on the toilet. She sat there for a few moments peeing. The room was silent other than Pepper’s pee splashing into the water in the toilet. After a minute she grabbed a couple of sheets of toilet paper and cleaned herself. She then left the room not saying anything else.

\tShade let out the breath that he had been holding the entire time. He flushed the toilet for Pepper and left the room. He walked downstairs and sat on the couch. The house was silent save from a clock or two ticking by the seconds. He sat in the dark before he finally found the TV remote. Pressing the power button and held the volume down button and then started pressing it rapidly as the TV turned on. The room filled with bright white light and he closed his eyes slightly so they could adjust. He laid on the couch and watched Boomerang channel, Tom and Jerry was on. At some point he fell asleep.

\t“Shade. Wake up.” A voice said shaking his body. Shade opened his eyes. Willow stood above him. He sat up and moved over. Willow sat down beside him.
\t“Everything okay?” Willow asked.
\t“Huh? What?” Shade asked looking around confused.
\t“Are you okay?” Willow asked.
\t“Oh yeah. I couldn’t get to sleep. So I came down here to watch TV. Sorry. I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” Shade stated.
\t“It’s okay.” Willow replied and rubbed the back of his head.
\t“I feel weird. I don’t know.” Shade stated.
\t“You need time to adjust. This is a major change in your life. A sudden change. You’ll get used to it within a few days.” Willow explained.
\t“I didn’t wake you with the TV did I?” Shade asked.
\t“No you didn’t. I came down to start breakfast.” Willow replied.
\t“This early?” Shade asked. Willow chuckled a few times.
\t“I think you slept longer than you think. It’s past seven AM. The sun will rise shortly.” Willow replied with another chuckle.
\t“Oh.” Shade replied.
\t“Go back to sleep. You can stay down here if you want to.” Willow replied.
\t“Thanks.” Shade replied and laid back down. He quickly fell back asleep.

December 31, 2018

\tA few hours after breakfast, Quill came over and took Pepper and Shade to the administration office at the police station. They spent an hour filling out the paperwork for the claim.

\t“Shade have you thought about reporting the abuse by your parents and the black eye?” Quill asked.
\t“I have. I don’t want to. I don’t want them to try to do anything else to me or anything to Pepper’s family.” Shade replied.
\t“Okay. We’re not going pressure you into doing it.” Quill replied.
\t“Thanks.” Shade replied.
\t“They should be here at anytime. If you do change your mind, let me know okay.” Quill stated.

\tQuill, Pepper and Shade waited at the station for the next five hours for his parents to show up. A police officer bought the three of them lunch from his favorite restaurant. After multiple calls and no shows, the police drove to their house and picked up Shade’s parents. Once at the station they refused to sign the paperwork multiple times, causing scenes, cursing and berating their son. After multiple attempts to get them to sign the paperwork, the police reminded them that they cannot keep mates apart from each other. They still refused to sign. Shade sighed and tugged on Quill’s jacket. Quill bent down to near Shade’s head.

\t“Quill, I think I will press charges. I’m tired of being here.” Shade whispered to Quill.
\t“Officers, Shade has something he wants to say.” Quill said.

\t“My father is the one who gave me the black eye and all of the bruises that you see on my body. If they don’t sign the papers right now, I want to press charges for cub abuse. For everything over the past six years. I remember everything.” Shade stated.
\t“You would really do that to us Shade? How despicable of you. You stupid fucking cub.” Shade's father said rushing up to Shade with his paw raised.

\tQuill immediately walked in between the two and glared down at the otter, who stopped and moved backwards. Quill’s eyes started glowing brightly as his rage increased.

\t“You’ve hit me hundreds if not thousands of times over the years. You gave me a black eye because I claimed the girl that I love. I claimed her the way of the wolf. You barely gave me enough to survive. Bought me very little clothes. Only let me eat very little food. Verbally and physically abused me. Often locked me outside in the backyard at nights and in the rain and snow. I’m done with you both. I hope you both rot in whatever hole you find yourselves in.” Shade shouted.

\t“Fuck this. We don’t want anything to do you with anymore.” His mother stated.
\t“THEN SIGN THE GOD DAMNED FUCKING PAPERS YOU PIECES OF FUCKING SHIT ASSHOLES!” Shade screamed loudly. He continued his onslaught of vulgar filled words for the next half minute.

\tThe police, Pepper and Quill both stared at Shade as he finally vented all of his frustrations and rage out all at once. He dropped down to his legs hyperventilating and crying. Both his parents signed the papers and said they didn’t want to see him again and left immediately.

\t“You still want us to pursue them on the abuse?” A officer asked.
\t“Yes. I want to press full charges against them, for everything fucking thing that you can. You saw he tried to hit me just a few minutes ago.” Shade said as he stood back up. His body shaking uncontrollably. “I don’t want anything to do with them anymore.” Shade added. Pepper hugged and kissed him for a few seconds and then let out of it.

\tTwo officers ran out the doors to catch the otter pair. A minute later they were escorted back into the station in handcuffs. While walking past the group, both of them started barraging Shade with sentences full of bad language, hate and death threats. Many words Pepper nor Shade had never heard before.

\tPepper pulled Shade into a hug, trying to protect him from the harsh words.
\t“Are we done here?” Shade asked.
\t“Almost. Once you and Pepper turn twelve you two can have your ceremony for marriage or wait until you’re both older. I need to get a picture of your eye and other bruises and also an official statement of all the abuse. Everything that you can remember. If you have dates that would be helpful as well.” The officer stated.

\t“Let’s get it over with.” Shade sighed. The officer took his camera and walked around to them. The officer escorted him to a back room, Pepper followed while Quill waited in the lobby. In the room the officer explained to Shade what he needed. Pepper sat in a chair and watched as Shade striped down. His body was covered in bruises that ranged from days to months old. The officer took pictures of Shade’s eye and of the two dozen bruises. After he got dressed the officer gave him statement papers. Shade sat there writing everything he could remember. After he finished Pepper and Shade walked back in to the lobby and handed the officer the near one inch stack. Half an hour later the three of them walked out of the town’s administration building and started to head home.

\t“We’re official mates now. I’m so happy Shade.” Pepper said leaning over and kissing him on the muzzle.
\t“Me too Pepper. I love you.” Shade replied with a smile.
\t“I love you too.” Pepper replied. They sat in silence for just a couple of minutes.
\t“Quill, is there a way that I can drop or change my name? I rather not carry their last name anymore.
\t“Do you have an idea for a name?” Quill asked.
\t“No. Not right now.” Shade replied then looked down at the floorboard.
\t“Well you two should think about it. It’ll affect you both in the future. Pepper will take whatever last name you have. After that talk to Willow about it.” Quill explained.
\t“Thank You, Quill.” Shade replied.

\tThe three of them drove home, stopping at McAnimals to stave off their grumbling stomachs.

\tA few weeks later Shade sat in the living room when Willow walked in the front door.

\t“Willow can I talk to you about something?” Shade asked. Willow walked over to a chair and sat down.
\t“Sure Shade.” Willow replied.
\t“I’d like to see if I can change both of my names. I don’t want to have the name that my parents gave me.” Shade said.

\t“But Shade is such a nice name though.” Willow said.
\t“Shade is a nickname, my first name is Wiley.” Shade replied.
\t“Wait, did you put Wiley or Shade on the claim papers?” Willow asked.
\t“I put down Shade Marlin. Why?” He asked.
\t“Those were legal documents. It should have been your real name. We’ll have to contact the police station to change it to the correct name.” Willow explained.
\t“Well, what if we get my first name changed to Shade instead. Would it make it easier?” He asked.
\t“I doubt it since you want to change both first and last name. I need to let the administration office know of the mix up with your name though. I’ll talk to you about this in a bit, okay?” Willow said.

\t“Okay. Sorry about that Willow.” Shade apologized.
\t“No worries. Have you thought of a new last name?” Willow asked.
\t“Yeah. Pepper thinks it’s cute. Squigglestail.” Shade replied.
\t“It is cute. Shade Squigglestail” Willow replied with a chuckle.
\t“Thanks.” Shade replied and blushed.
\t“I’ll make a phone call tomorrow and get information for changing your name.” Willow added.
\t“Thanks Willow.” Shade replied.

February 20, 2018

\tA month later Willow walked into Shade and Pepper’s bedroom. The two of them were laying down cuddling.

\t“Did you two just…” Willow asked being cut off by Pepper.
\t“No, we didn’t have sex.” Pepper stated.
\t“You need to try to control that erection of yours Shade.” Willow stated.
\t“Sorry. I can’t help it.” Shade replied covering up.
\t“Good news Shade, your name change was approved. You are now Shade Squigglestail.” Willow replied and Pepper giggled.
\t“Good to hear. It didn’t take long either.” Shade replied.
\t“Keeping with the good news. You won’t have to show up to court for the abuse.” Willow stated.
\t“Why not?” Shade asked leaning up.
\t“The police put in an informant prisoner in your dad’s cell with him. He spilled his guts out about the abuse and gloated about it. Saying that he would do it again if he could and make it much worse. Your mom did pretty much the same. The were pulled into court and then forced to listen to their confessions. They both plead guilty and the judge sentenced them to forty years in prison for cub abuse. They are up for parole in twenty years. But I honestly don’t think they’ll make it that long. Prisoner’s don’t take too kindly to furs who beat and abuse cubs. They’ll be beaten daily most likely. Your mom will be going to a female prison and father will be in the state prison. Both prisons have some of the most heinous murderers, rapist and serial killers there. You’ll be safe from them for life.” Willow explained.
\t“Think they’ll be killed?” Shade asked.
\t“It’s a possibility, especially when prisoner’s find out they beat and abused a cub under the age of ten.” Willow replied.
\t“Good riddance. I hope they die screaming in pure fucking pain.” Shade replied.
\t“I don’t agree with what you just said, but I fully understand why. I’ve got all of your paperwork. New ID, new birth certificate and everything else. I’ll keep it safe for you.” Willow stated holding up a thick folder in the paw.
\t“Thank you Willow.” Shade replied and smiled.
\t“Oh and Shade, watch your language please.” She added.

\tShade slid off the bed and up to Willow and gave her a hug.

\t“Thank you for everything Willow. I’ll love Pepper with all that I can give.” Shade stated.
\t“I’m sure you will Shade.” Willow replied hugging him back.
\t“Thanks mom.” Pepper said and smiled.

\tWillow smiled and nodded her head at Pepper then she left the room. Shade returned and laid back down on the bed.

\t“I’m so sorry you had to go through all of that Shade. You won’t deal with that here. The worse mom does is spank us when we do really bad things.” Pepper replied as she leaned over Shade’s chest.
\t“It’s over. Just need to try to put it all behind me now and hopefully recover from the abuse.” Shade replied smiling up at Pepper.

\tPepper leaned down and kissed him. “We’ll work on it together, Squigglestail.” Pepper stated. Shade smiled and kissed her back as Pepper moved over and straddled him.
