\tFang jerked up out of bed. His scream of terror only being muffled by the tube in his mouth. His body contorted in pain as he cried out. He fell back to the bed clutching his chest and stomach and started coughing and choking on the tube down his throat. Vapor jumped up and ran over to Fang. “FANG!” Vapor exclaimed loudly. Fang’s eyes bolted over to her in fear. He was hyperventilating. His chest rose and dropped too fast. His lungs were on fire and full of pain. Machines beeped and whined fast and furiously. It went from a near silent room to a room that was loud and insane in just seconds. His eyes wide as Vapor ran up to him and took his paw. “FANG BABY!” Vapor shouted. Seconds later the nurse rushed in the room. After several minutes she was able to get him to calm him down and get him to slow down and control his breathing. He looked up at her, still coughing and gagging from the tub. He rose his paw up and weakly held the tube as he continued breathing heavily and deeply. “Okay, just a moment,” the nurse stated then proceeded to remove the tube from his throat. As she pulled the tube out, he dry heaved and then passed out again. The nurse placed a nasal tube in place of the large tube. After talking to Willow and Vapor for a few minutes, assuring that he was fine and it was normal for a person to pass out like that, the nurse left.
\tFifteen days had passed since the assault on Fang. Vapor and Willow sat in the ICU room. Fang hooked up to more than half a dozen machines. IV’s in both arms and tubes pumping air into him.
\tAround thirty minutes later Fang woke back up and looked around to see Vapor crying sitting on Willow’s lap. Willow’s eyes were closed and hugging Vapor. Two police officers were sitting in chairs next to Vapor and Willow. Both officers stared at Fang. They had arrived just a short time before Fang woke up. They were checking up on his condition.
\t“Of… Officers… I… want to… press charges… against… Jag.” Fang struggled the words out.
\tVapor jumped up from Willow’s lap and ran over to Fang before the officers could say anything.
\tVapor locked Fang into a kiss not letting up for air.
\t“I… need air!” Fang stuttered out in her mouth. Vapor released her kiss then smiled and laughed nervously.
\t“I was so worried Fang. I thought… I… you… died… Fang!” Vapor cried nuzzling his face. Fang lifted his arm up and stroked her face with his paw then held it to the side of her muzzle.
\t“I’ll be okay.” Fang replied with a smile. Vapor hugged his head and started crying.
\t“No more crying please.” He added a moment later.
\t“We’ll be back tomorrow to get your statement if you’re feeling well enough to speak.” The Lieutenant replied. Fang nodded and watched the two leave the room.
\tWillow walked up and stood next to Vapor. She lifted her paw to Fang’s face and stroked his face.
\t“Fang, sweetie…” Willow started.
\t“No crying from you either, mom.” Fang interrupted her and smiled then went into a coughing fit for ten seconds. Fang’s head fell back down to the pillow and his arm went limp, falling down onto the bed, half of it hanging off the edge of the bed. Willow called out for the nurse. Upon entering the nurse took Fang’s vitals again.
\t“He woke up again for a just a minute, but passed out just before I called you.” Willow told the nurse.
\t“He’ll likely do that for a bit while his body recovers from the trauma. His pulse and breathing are both strong.” The nurse replied.
\t“Why don’t you two go home and rest up. We’ll take care of him.” The nurse suggested.
\t“NO! I’m staying here with him. I’m going to continue sleeping on the couch. I’ll wrap my body around him if I have to. I won’t leave him.” Vapor replied.
\t“You won’t be able to pull her away from him.” Willow commented to the doctor.
\t“Very well. Just watch out for his IV’s in both of his arms and the stitches in his chest and stomach.” The nurse replied and then left the room.
\tAfter a few minutes Willow walked back over to the couch and sat down. Vapor stood next to the bed holding Fang’s paw against her chest.
\t“Do you think he’s okay, Willow?” Vapor asked.
\t“Yes, I do. He’s strong. If he didn’t die from those three pairs of gashes, torn lungs and stomach, I don’t think he will at this point. He just needs a lot of rest now.” Willow started.
\tA few hours had passed. Fang was still unconscious. Willow and Vapor had both moved back to the couch after the doctor left the room. Vapor had fallen asleep with her head laying on Willow’s lap more than two hours ago.
\tVapor’s stomach growled loudly enough for it to wake her up. Dazed she looked around and saw that Fang was still passed out.
\t“I’m hungry. Can we get something to eat?” Vapor asked.
\t“Of course sweetie. I don’t think you’ve eaten much in the past two weeks. I can tell that you’re starting to lose weight. Too much weight, I let you go for too long. Come on let’s go downstairs.” Willow replied. The two headed to the door, Vapor stopped and looked at Fang
\t“We’ll be back, love.” Vapor said and left the room.
\tVapor and Willow took the elevator down to the first floor and walked to the cafeteria. They gave their orders then paid at the register. They stepped to the side and waited for their food. Five minutes later the food was ready and they sat down at a table and began eating.
\t“How is Abby doing with the pups and Pepper?” Vapor asked.
\t“She’s okay. They all are being good for her.” Willow replied.
\t“Good to hear. She’s a good babysitter. Always was for Fang and me.” Vapor replied as she put the fork into her mouth.
\t“Yeah. She’s good a good fur.” Willow replied.
\tBack in the room Fang woke up to an empty room. After a few moments he found the remote and pressed the big red button that had ‘nurse call’ written on it. A moment later a nurse walked in.
\t“Ah good. You’re awake.” The opossum nurse stated.
\t“Where is Va… ~cough~ Vapor and my mo… ~cough~ mo… ~cough~ mom?” Fang asked stuttering, trying to get air through his raw throat. His body full of pain. Only able to take in a small amount of oxygen with each painful breath. He coughed and he grabbed his chest as he yelped out in pain. His back arched and he had tears start flowing down his face. The nurse placed her paw on his chest, between his wounds and gently held his body down.
\t“They went down to eat about five maybe ten minutes ago. They’ve been here since you arrived. Vapor barely left your side. We and your mom had to force her to leave to eat and go back home for a few days. You’re mom left at nights to relieve the babysitter I think she said.” The nurse stated.
\t“I. I’m… not surprised… ~cough~ about … Vapor.” He said breathing shallow breaths.
\t“Is there anything you needed?” The nurse replied.
\t“Yeah, food please. And pain killers.” Fang replied.
\t“Sure thing. I’ll have soft food brought up as soon as possible.” The nurse replied then spoke over her radio.
\tThe nurse took vitals, checked Fang’s stitches and tended to his major bruising and stitches. She pushed a passcode into a machine’s keypad and then a few more buttons.
\t“Okay, pain killer’s should be flowing into you now, Fang.” She stated.
\t“What all happened to me? I remember being in a fight, severe pain and then nothing.” Fang asked.
\tThe nurse let out a loud sigh. “You almost died. You did die for about half an hour but the doctors finally revived you.” The nurse explained.
\t“Ah shit.” Fang replied and breathed heavily.
\t“Calm and easy with your breathing.” The nurse warned.
\t“I’ll ~cough~ try my best.” He replied trying to slow his fast heavy breathing.
\t“The top pair of claw slash busted your ribs. The middle claw slash ripped both lungs open. The third pair of claw slash tore your stomach open. A punch ruptured your right kidney and had to be repaired. All of your ribs are broken from punches and the claws. Many of your organs are bruised and battered, but are fine overall. Your arms and face are beaten and bruised badly. Your nose is broken. You had a major concussion. The list goes on. That tiger did a number on you in just a short amount of time.” The nurse explained.
\t“How long have I been here?” Fang asked.
\t“Two weeks.” The nurse replied, as she changed out a IV bag.
\t“TWO WEEKS?! No shit? No wonder they were so worried.” Fang exclaimed.
\t“Vapor, she’s a good friend to you. She barely left your side at all.” The nurse said.
\t“Wife.” Fang corrected the nurse.
\t“You two are married? They didn’t mention that.” The nurse asked surprised.
\t“Yup, with twin one year old pups. They’re non-identical twins.” Fang replied with a smile.
\t“Wow. I wouldn’t have guessed.” The nurse stated
\t“I wouldn’t change a thing. I love Vapor and our cubs.” Fang replied with a cough.
\t“Quite mature for your age.” The nurse said and place her paw on Fang’s cheek and gave him a smile.
\t“When will I get out of here?” Fang asked.
\t“You ready to go home already?” The nurse asked.
\t“Yeah, I’ve been in the hospital too many times in my life.” Fang explained.
\t“Your injuries have healed up pretty well over the past two weeks. I don’t know for sure, but within this week. Maybe. It’s all up to your doctor.” The nurse explained.
\t“One more question.” Fang commented as he looked at his bare chest.
\t“Yes?” The nurse asked.
\t“How many stitches do I have.” Fang asked with a chuckle before wincing in pain, even with the pain killer flowing through his body.
\t“Let’s see.” The nurse said as she turned to the computer. “Looks like you received … 1750 stitches total. Over 1000 being inside your body closing your stomach and lungs. The rest outside.
\t“Damn. That bastard really did do a number on me.” Fang replied.
\t“Yes he did.” The nurse replied.
\tAs the nurse finished typing on the computer as the door opened. Seconds later Fang could smell the food.
\t“Ah, good. The food is here. I’m so hungry that I could eat a moose.” Fang said out loud.
\tThe food cart was pushed into the room. His food was being pushed inside by a tall moose cafeteria worker.
\t“Please don’t eat me. I bring you this food in good tidings.” The cafeteria worker said with a smile.
\tFang’s face blushed. “Sorry. I didn’t mean it that way. I have a very bad habit of saying that I could eat something. Just minutes before the fight, I told my teacher that I could eat a rabbit. He is a rabbit.” Fang replied with a chuckle, but winced from the pain.
\t“Try not to laugh hon. It’ll hurt and could cause your internal stitches to break.” The nurse stated.
\tThe moose took a roll-away bed tray, placed his food on it and pushed it up to Fang’s bed.
\t“It’s all good. I understand what you mean. I hope you enjoy the food.” The moose commented with a smile and then headed for the door.
\t“Thank you for the food.” Fang stated.
\tThe nurse turned back to Fang and said that she would check back in later.
\t“Ma’am, when Vapor and my mom walk back through, don’t tell them I woke up please.” Fang asked.
\t“Very well.” The nurse replied with a smile as she walked out the door shutting it behind her.
\tFang took the bed controls and moved the head section up further so he could sit up and eat. He winced and groaned in pain each time he lifted his arm and swallowed. After he finished he pushed the roll-away table away and looked around. He saw a TV on the wall. He searched for a moment and found the remote and turned the TV on. He flipped through the channels and found a familiar cartoon “The Adventures of Hello Wolfy” he put the remote down and started watched the show while eating. He finished his meal in around twenty minutes.
\tAnother fifteen minutes later the door finally opened up. Vapor and Willow walked in. Upon noticing that Fang was sitting up, Vapor shouted his name and ran up and hugged him.
\t“Oomph. Ow.” Fang cried out, groaned and cried in pain.
\t“I’m Sorry Fang!” Vapor said then gave him a few kisses.
\t“It’s okay.” Fang replied returning the kiss.
\t“Hi mom. How are you?” Fang asked.
\t“I’m good.” Willow said then kissed his muzzle.
\tFang painfully scooted his body over and patted the bed next to him, beckoning for Vapor to sit beside him. Willow sat down in a chair and pulled our her phone and started typing on it. After a moment she looked up at the two. Vapor was kissing Fang passionately. Her arms wrapped around his neck. She didn’t have the heart to stop them as his heart rate monitor started beeping faster. She pulled out of the kiss moments later and smiled at him.
\t“I was so scared Fang. I saw him on you just hitting and slashing at you. I couldn’t just stand there and watch him do it. Even after you told me not to.” Vapor said.
\t“I told you not to help? I don’t really remember anything.” Fang said.
\t“Yeah, kind of. In between his punches.” Vapor replied.
\t“I don’t remember much other than severe pain.” Fang replied looking down at his chest.
\t“After my brain finally processed that it was you, I ran up and jumped on him. I dug my claws into his back and sunk my fangs and teeth into his shoulder. When I pushed off of him, my claws and teeth took more than just fur and blood.” Vapor said shivering from the thought. “I only wanted to protect you like you’ve protected me for so long.” She added.
\t“Thank You Vapor. You saved my life. The nurse said if he had gotten in any more punches or slashes, I most likely wouldn’t have survived.” Fang said kissing Vapor. Vapor wrapped her arms around Fang’s body and gave him a soft hug.
\t“I’m happy that you survived and are awake. I don’t know what I would have done without you.” Vapor said while still hugging Fang.
\t“What happened after I blacked out?” Fang asked.
\tVapor released her hug and let out a deep exhale. “After I jumped off of Jag’s back I rushed over to you. You were laying on the ground covered in blood and gasping for air. I tried to hold the gashes, trying to get the bleeding to stop. The nurse finally arrived and we were trying to stop the bleeding and tried to get you air. We couldn’t, your lungs were too damaged. Even Jaden tried to help. You blacked out maybe a minute after the nurse arrived.
\tAfter you had blacked out, the paramedics arrived just minutes later. As soon as they saw you, they immediately placed you on a stretcher rushed you outside. They were hauling ass, I could barely keep up. They loaded you into the ambulance and I forced my way into it for the ride, explaining that we were married mates.
\tOnce at the hospital the nurses could barely hold me back from following you into the operating room. They finally got me to settle down and took me to a room to be checked out. Because I was covered in blood. After I calmed down about everything and after I stopped snapping at them, I told them it wasn’t my blood or fur, but it was a mix of your blood and Jag’s blood, skin and fur. They helped me clean up and gave me a gown to cover my blood stained shirt and skirt.
\tSomething like half an hour later, I called Willow and told her what happened and she rushed down here. The fucking school didn’t even call Willow about what happened. We waited in the ER waiting room for over seven hours. We had heard nothing from any doctor or nurse during that time.” Vapor said and was interrupted by Willow.
\t“Vapor! Language young wolf.” Willow snarled. Vapor sighed and nodded her head.
\t“I saw a nurse walking to the door and I jumped up and grabbed her. I demanded her to get us an update about you. The look on her face. Fang, I scared the fuck out of her.” Vapor commented.
\t“Vapor! LANGUAGE!” Willow snarled again.
\t“Sorry Willow.” Vapor replied.
\t“So after demanding information we got an update shortly after. They basically said it didn’t look good for you and they were doing all they could. The doctor left the waiting room back through the door, just leaving me standing there.
\tAnother ten hours had passed while we waited for anything, for an update, for how you were doing, if you were dead or alive. Finally another doctor came out of the door. His head was hung down and walked up to us slowly. I saw his face, his expression. I dropped down on the floor on my knees and started bawling. I had thought the worse. The doctor, the nurse that I scared and Willow finally got me to calm down. He said that you had survived, just barely. They used over a hundred blood packs to keep you alive in the operating room. You were in really bad shape. They said that you were dead when you arrived.” Vapor finished and started crying. She leaned against Fang and pulled him to her and carefully hugged his battered body. He remained silent for the next five minutes as she laid there. His left arm fur soaked with her tears. She finally sat up and Fang wiped her face off. Her eyes bloodshot.
\t“I don’t know what to say. At least it was a Friday.” Fang replied with a small chuckle.
\t“I haven’t been back to the school since and I’m not going back until you’re out of the hospital and you’re able to go back to school.” Vapor commented.
\t“Yes you are, Vapor. You need to keep your grades up and to collect my homework while I’m here.” Fang told her harshly.
\t“But…” Vapor said.
\t“No buts Vapor. I mean it. I’ll be fine.” Fang replied and locked her into a kiss for another moment, a cough causing him to pull out.
\t“What happened to that basta… umm, Jag?” Fang asked.
\tWillow stared at Fang for almost cursing.
\t“He’s still here in the hospital. I tore large long gashes down his back and took a large chunk from his neck when I bit him.” Vapor replied.
\t“Vapor. You could get into trouble doing that.” Fang stated.
\t“No. I spoke to the police about it. They said since I was defending you and because you were severely injured, it was all in self defense. If the school tries anything, we’ll hit them with a lawsuit since they allowed him in the school.” Vapor replied.
\tFang nodded and coughed hard. His body crumpled over during his coughing fit. He slipped back into unconsciousness after it finished. Vapor laid next to Fang hoping and waiting for him to wake back up.
\tAbout three hours later Willow stood up and walked up to the bed.
\t“You going to stay here Vapor? I’m not even going to argue anymore to you about going back to school.” Willow stated.
\t“Yes I’m staying. I called on Monday and let the school know that I would be taking time off. Jaden is collecting my homework. I was told that all of Fang’s schoolwork will be excused and won’t count against his grade.” Vapor replied.
\t“Okay. Just don’t cause the doctor’s or nurse’s any problems.” Willow stated.
\t“You know I won’t.” Vapor replied and smiled.
\tWillow gave Fang a kiss and then Vapor a hug and kiss before leaving.
\tAbout an hour later Fang woke back up. Vapor still laying in the bed beside him.
\t“You really should go to school Vapor.” Fang suggested.
\t“I called them Monday morning after the attack and told them that I wouldn’t be coming back this week. That I was staying with you under the FMLA and due to physical and mental distress. They understood. The missed days will be fully excused and won’t count against my attendance. Jaden is getting my schoolwork. Yours will be excused and won’t count against you.” Vapor explained.
\t“I don’t like it, but I know how you are.” Fang said with a smile.
\t“Fang. We thought you weren’t going to make it. Thought you were going to die. I. I had to write a eulogy for you.” Vapor said as tears flowed down her face. Fang put his arm around her and hugged her.
\t“I bet it’s amazing. You’re always good at coming up with stuff.” Fang replied.
\t“I’m glad that I don’t have to read it now.” Vapor replied and wiped tears from her face.
\t“Me too.” Fang replied.
\t“Baby, you know how we promised we wouldn’t open each others lock boxes?” Vapor asked.
\t“Yes.” Fang replied.
\t“I might have opened yours. I didn’t do it to get into your private stuff but it was just two days after your attack. The night that you died but was revived. The doctors told us to prepare for your death. They didn’t think you were going to make it. I wasn’t sure either.” Vapor explained.
\t“That’s okay. I’m not mad. Did you enjoy everything in it?” Fang asked.
\t“Yeah. Why did you keep the old engagement rings?” She asked.
\t“Because they’re special to us. Maybe one day Onai or Luna could use them for their mates.” Fang explained.
\t“Onai was a good boy that night. He got me through it. I woke up to feeling you behind me Fang. Like you’ve been doing. I felt it that night. It woke me up. It was a weird night Fang. I don’t even know. But after I looked at the box, I laid down and held Onai. He kissed me and pulled me out of thoughts a couple of times. I cried myself to sleep while he remained in my arms He stayed awake to protect me, according to what Willow said. She came into the bedroom a bit after four AM and he was awake, just barely. He stayed with me the entire night. Cuddled up against me.” Vapor explained.
\t“He’s a good boy alright.” Fang replied.
\t“Rest now.” Vapor replied and then kissed him. “I love you Fang.” She added after pulling out of the kiss.
\t“Love you too baby,” Fang replied. Fang picked up the remote and unmuted the TV. They sat there watching “How It’s Made” until thirty minutes later. They were interrupted by shouting from outside the door.
\t“Sir, you can’t go in there. STOP!” A nurse shouted. The door opened up and Quill walked in with the nurse behind him.
\t“He’s my nephew and I am going to visit him.” Quill said sternly but quietly.
\t“But…” the nurse started but was interrupted by Fang.
\t“Quill! Ma’am, he’s fine, he’s my uncle. He can be a bit hard headed at times, but wouldn’t hurt anyone.” Fang stated.
\t“Are you sure he’s okay to be here? He looks…” The nurse started.
\t“Yes I’m sure. He’s fine. He only looks vicious, but in fact he is a big softy once you get to know him.” Fang replied.
\tThe nurse left the room and shut the door.
\t“Wow. You got tore up pretty good I see.” Quill commented.
\t“Yeah I did. I only survived thanks to Vapor attacking him back. What took you so long to visit?” Fang stated.
\t“I’m sorry. I was out of town. I couldn’t get back until now.” Quill replied.
\t“It’s all good. Vapor has kept me company day and night, along with mom, it seems.” Fang stated and smiled at him.
\t“I’m glad to see that you’re okay. I’ve been so worried about you this entire time. I’d like to know the details if you and Vapor up for it.” Quill asked.
\tFang glanced over at Vapor and he nodded to her. Vapor spent the next half hour giving details of the fight. Then they talked about things from the previous weeks since Quill left for the meeting.
\t“Alright kiddo’s. It’s getting late, I should get back home and let you rest. I’ll see you after you get back home Fang.” Quill said.
\t“Take care Quill. Love you.” Both Fang and Vapor stated.
\t“Love you both too.” Quill said as he left the room.
\tFang fell asleep shortly after. Vapor stayed in bed beside him. The nurse came in shortly later and checked up on Fang and changed out a couple of IV bags.
\t“If you’re going to sleep with him, be careful of the IV’s please.” The nurse stated.
\t“Yes ma’am.” Vapor replied with a smile “Thank you for everything. I’m really sorry for grabbing hold of you and scaring you that first day.” Vapor said.
\t“No problem Vapor. I’d probably do the same. You’re a good cub. I can tell that Fang really loves you and your pups.” The nurse replied smiling.
\t“That wolf that came in. He’s…” The nurse started but was interrupted by Vapor.
\t“Scary?” Vapor asked.
\t“Yes.” The nurse said.
\t“I first met him when I was nine. I saw him and I hid behind a box that I was carrying, then under Fang’s tail. He’s a good wolf though. He saved multiple furs from a burning building once, disregarding his own life.” Vapor explained.
\t“Oh? That’s quite heroic.” The nurse stated.
\t“Yup. He’s always been there for Willow, Fang, me and now our cubs. I love him just like a father.” Vapor said with a smile.
\t“If I see him again, I’ll have to apologize for my actions.” The nurse stated.
\t“I’m sure he’s already forgiven you. You were doing your job of protecting patients.” Vapor replied.
\t“I should finish checking Fang’s vitals and changing IVs drips.” The nurse stated.
\t“Okay.” Vapor replied with a yawn
\tThe nurse took about ten minutes to finish changing out IV bags and checking vitals and left the room. Vapor had fallen asleep while the nurse was working on Fang.

\tThe next morning Fang woke up with Vapor still laying beside him, her left arm over his chest.
\t“Vapor. Wake up.” Fang said as he poked at Vapor.
\tNot remembering that they were in the hospital and her eyes closed, she pulled Fang into a hug.
\t“Ow. Ow. Vapor. Stop.” Fang cried out.
\tHis cries made Vapor stop and open her eyes. “I’m sorry Fang. I didn’t mean to. I forgot you were in the hospital.” Vapor exclaimed.
\t“It’s fine, just no tight hugs.” Fang replied. Vapor sat up in bed and sniffed the air.
\t“I think I stink a bit.” Vapor stated.
\t“Yeah. I think so too.” Fang replied with a smile. Vapor narrowed her eyes but smiled and gave him a kiss.
\t“I’ll call Willow to bring me clean clothes.” Vapor said getting off of the bed.
\tVapor headed to her backpack and pulled her cell phone out and dialed Willows number. She stepped by the window during the call.
\tThe nurse walked in as Vapor walked over to the window.
\t“How are you feeling today Fang?” The nurse asked.
\t“I’m feeling good.” Fang replied.
\t“I heard you cry out. Are you sure you’re okay?” The nurse asked.
\t“Yes ma’am. Vapor hugged me a bit too tightly while she was still asleep. It’s fine, don’t get on to her about it, please” Fang stated.
\t“Very well. I’ll have food brought up for the both of you. AFTER she cleans up, I can smell her from outside of the door.” The nurse stated.
\t“Yes, she knows. She’s calling my mom for a clean set of clothing.” Fang replied.
\t“Okay. I’ll have the food brought up now then. Anything special that you want?” The nurse asked.
\t“Could we get some venison nuggets and a few extra juices please?” Fang asked.
\t“I’ll let them know. If you need anything just use the call button.” The nurse replied and left the room.
\tVapor finished her phone call and sat down next to Fang in bed.
\t“She’ll be here in an hour or so. She’s going to drop Pepper off at school. She still doesn’t want Pepper to see you like this.” Vapor said.
\t“I wouldn’t want to see me in this condition either.” Fang replied with a laugh. Grabbed his chest and winced in pain.
\t“Ow… Gotta remember not to laugh.” Fang replied.
\t“Fang…” Vapor stopped and sat on the bed, facing Fang.
\t“What?” Fang asked. He lifted his arm and placed his paw on her muzzle and moved his thumb against her cheek.
\t“What’s going to happen with Jag. I don’t want to see him at school any more.” Vapor stated.
\t“I’m pressing charges against him. He’ll be lucky to even see the day light anymore after we’re done with him in court.” Fang replied.
\tFang took the nurse call in his paw and pressed the button. A few seconds later a voice cracked over the speaker.
\t“How can I help you Mr. Wolfe?” A nurse asked.
\t“Is Jag Tiger still in the hospital?” Fang asked.
\t“I’m sorry but I cannot talk about other patients.” The nurse replied.
\t“Oh okay then. Sorry.” Fang replied.
\tA moment later the door opened up and his nurse walked in.
\t“The call nurse let me know what you asked. If you’re worried that he can get to you, he can’t. There are two police officer’s posted outside of his room. He’s also handcuffed to the metal bed frame. That is all the information that I can give you about him.” The nurse explained.
\t“That’s fine. It’s all I wanted to know. Thank you.” Fang replied.
\t“Anything else?” The nurse asked.
\t“No Ma’am.” Fang replied.
\tThe nurse left as their food was being wheeled in. Vapor got off the bed and sat on the couch. Both sat quietly eating their breakfast. After they finished, Vapor moved back into the bed with Fang.
\tWillow showed up shortly after Fang and Vapor had finished the breakfast. In tow with Willow was Luna and Onai-Sköll.
\t“DADDY! MOMMY!” Both cubs shouted waddling over to their parents in the bed. Both cubs tried to climb up on to the bed.
\t“Settle down you two.” Willow said to the two. Fang patted both of them on their head.
\t“You two been listening to grandma and Abby?” Fang asked.
\t“Yes Daddy,” Both cubs replied.
\t“Good! Mom will you set them up on the bed please?” Fang asked.
\t“You sure?” Willow asked.
\t“Yup.” Fang replied.
\tVapor got out of the bed as Willow hesitantly placed the pups up on the bed who instantly started cuddling with their dad.
\t“We missed you and mommy.” Onai stated.
\t“We’ve missed you both too.” Fang replied with both cubs leaning against his arms.
\t“Daddy when you come home?” Onai asked as tears flowed down his face.
\t“I hope soon buddy.” Fang replied and hugged him.
\t“Runa and I miss you a lot.” Onai said as he stood on the bed. Looking at his dad.
\t“I missed you both too.” Fang replied.
\tWillow handed Vapor her clothes and took a sniff.
\t“Phew. Vapor, Go wash up. Fang really must love you if he can tolerate that stench.” Willow stated.
\t“You stink too Willow.” Vapor joked sticking her tongue out.
\t“That’s enough of you Vapor. Go now.” Willow replied giving her a smack on her butt. Vapor smiled and took her clothes then headed into the bathroom. A few minutes later she stuck her head out of the door.
\t“Faaaang! I can’t get this water perfect. I wish you were able to do it.” Vapor said.
\t“A shower would be so nice right now. But you’ll get it Vapor.” Fang replied. Vapor closed the door and returned back to the shower.
\t“Daddy. You be okay?” Luna asked while looking at his stitched chest.
\t“Yes sweetie. I’ll be okay. I just need time to heal.” Fang replied with a smile.
\t“I dun wike you wike this. Things come out of you are scwary. You wike a munstor.” Luna replied.
\t“I do look like a monster don’t I?” Fang laughed.
\t“ow… Can’t laugh.” Fang commented.
\t“Daddy?” Luna said. Fang pulled Luna towards his body and gave her a hug.
\t“I’m fine. I promise.” Fang stated.
\t“I tanks daddy wooks cool.” Luna commented.
\t“Daddy, you stink dough.” Onai said.
\t“Well, I haven’t had a bath in two weeks.” Fang said.
\t“Eww.” Luna replied plugging both of her nostrils.
\t“Hey now. I don’t smell that bad.” Fang said to Luna and tickled her belly causing her to giggle and kick at the air. Onai crawled around the bed, down near Fang’s legs and back up to his other side and laid down between his dads arm and chest.
\tTen minutes later Vapor stepped out of the bathroom and sat down on the couch.
\t“That felt good.” Vapor commented.
\t“MOMMY!” Luna shouted.
\t“Shh, don’t shout Luna. There’s other patients here that need rest.” Willow stated.
\t“Sowrry Gwanma!” Luna said softly.
\tVapor stood up and walked over and picked up Luna and carried her back to the couch. As soon as Vapor sat down a knock at the door sounded.
\t“Come in” Fang said loudly. The two police officers walked in and shut the door.
\t“Good morning Mr. Wolfe. How are you feeling?” The Lieutenant asked.
\t“I’ve felt better, but I’m alive at least. How can I help you two?” Fang replied.
\t“If you’re willing and able to, we would like to get your statement of what happened during the school day leading up to the fight.” A police officer stated. Fang nodded and sighed.
\t“Want me to take the pups out for a bit?” Willow asked.
\t“Doesn’t matter, I don’t remember much anyway.” Fang replied.
\t“Okay. From the beginning. We left home. Got to school. Went to our first three classes. Five minutes before the bell rung I dropped my head on the desk and it made a loud thump. The teacher got upset that I disturbed the class. Then I said that I was so hungry I could eat a rabbit. The teacher is a rabbit. So he sent me outside.
\tI went to my locker and put my bag in. The bell rang and I was waiting for Vapor. Out of nowhere I was slammed up against the locker and at first I didn’t remember who it was. He spoke about the past and then I remembered him. I told him I wanted nothing to do with him. Then he punched me in my chest. He let go of me and I dropped down to the ground with the air knocked out of me. I think I heard a loud crack when he punched me, I really couldn’t think about it as I gasped for air.
\tThe rest is all hazy. I think I remember being thrown at least one or two times more against the lockers. Then severe pain from punches and slashes. Then nothing. It’s all black. The next thing I woke up here hooked up to a million tubes and machines.” Fang explained.
\t“Daddy, dats swcary” Onai-Sköll cried out. Fang pulled Onai close to him and hugged him with a smile.
\t“It was Onai. Officers that’s all that I can remember. I’m sorry I can’t give anymore details. I’m sure Vapor or other students can give you more details.” Fang stated.
\t“That’s fine, it’s all we need, Mr. Wolfe. Vapor has already gave us her statement. We also have statements from other students. Do you have any questions for us?” The police officer asked.
\t“Will I, or Vapor, be charged for the fight? Vapor told me that she tore Jag up pretty badly protecting me.” Fang asked.
\t“Based off of what you, Vapor and the other students statements, Jag started the fight with you. You nor Vapor will be charged by the police. As for the school punishing you, I don’t know, that’s their area.” The policeman explained.
\t“Thank You. I still do want to press charges against Jag Tiger.” Fang stated.
\t“Understood. We’ll go back to the station and do all the paperwork. We’ll contact you or your mom when we finish.” The police officer stated.
\t“Add Vapor to that list. She’s my wife.” Fang stated.
\t“Okay. We’ll contact one of you when we’re ready for you to sign the paperwork. You’ll probably want to contact a lawyer in the meantime. Let him know what happened. He can contact the station to get the police report.” The police officer stated.
\t“Thank You officers. Have a good day and be safe out there.” Fang stated.
\t“Take care Mr. Wolfe. We hope you get back on your paws soon. Take care Ms. Wolfe’s and pups.” The officers said and then left the room.
\t“I’m glad that’s done with. I just want to get better and forget it all.” Fang sighed.
\t“I know you do sweetie.” Willow said as she walked over to Fang and gave him a kiss.
\t“Ugh. You do stink.” Willow commented.
\t“Okay. Okay. Point taken.” Fang sighed.
\tFang pressed the button on the nurse call remote.
\t“How can I help you Mr. Wolfe?” a voice cracked over the speaker.
\t“Can I take a shower? I keep getting told that I smell bad.” Fang stated.
\t“Your nurse will come to your room to talk to you about it in a moment.” the voice cracked again over the speaker.
\tA few minutes later the nurse stepped into the room.
\t“You can’t get those stitches wet. However, you can take a shower below your stomach. Use a slightly damp washcloth without soap to very carefully blot around the stitches.” The nurse explained.
\t“Can I do it now please? Vapor can help me.” Fang asked.
\t“Sure. Let me unhook you.” The nurse stated.
\t“Mom can you get Onai down please?” Fang asked.
\tWillow lifted Onai off the bed and sat back down holding him in her lap next to Vapor, still holding Luna.
\tThe nurse took a few minutes to turn the machines off and unhooked the four IV’s from Fangs right arm.
\t“These your cubs you were telling me about?” The nurse asked.
\t“Yes they are. He’s Onai and she’s Luna.” Fang replied.
\t“They are very beautiful. Their fur colors are very pretty.” The nurse complimented.
\t“Thank you.” Both Fang and Vapor replied.
\t“Okay and all unhooked. Vapor, are you going to help him in the shower?” The nurse asked.
\t“Yes ma’am.” Vapor replied.
\t“Okay. Just be careful with him. Make sure water doesn’t get on those stitches.” The nurse commented.
\tVapor and the nurse helped Fang into the shower. They sat him down on a shower chair. The nurse turned to leave but stopped and turned back around.
\t“Fang don’t stand up for more than just a few seconds without help, stay seated in the shower chair.” The nurse stated then closed the door behind her.
\tA few minutes into Fang’s bath and knock sounded at the door. Vapor walked over and opened the door. Standing there was Luna.
\t“Potty?” Luna asked softly.
\t“Come on in Luna, I’ll help you on the toilet. I’ll be back with you in a moment hon.” Vapor said.
\t“Take your time. I can work on my chest.” Fang replied.
\tThe door still slightly ajar, it slowly opened and Onai walked in.
\t“What are you doing Onai?” Willow called out.
\t“I need potty too.” Onai responded.
\t“He’s okay, mom. Come in Onai.” Fang said.
\t“Your sister is using the potty right now. You’ll have to wait.” Vapor stated.
\t“I can’t hold it long” Onai said as he was doing the potty dance.
\t“Okay, come here Onai.” Fang said. Onai walked over to his dad.
\t
\t“Do you have a diaper or pull-up on?” Fang asked.
\t“Diapy.” Onai replied nodding.
\t“Then use it. That’s what it’s for. Fang said.
\t“But potty twaining” Onai replied.
\t“It’s fine. Have you ever gotten in trouble for using your diaper before?” Fang asked.
\t“No okay Daddy.” Onai replied.
\tA few seconds later Onai had a relieved expression across his muzzle.
\t“Done!” Onai exclaimed with a smile a few seconds later.
\t“Let grandma know that you need a change, okay.” Fang stated.
\t“Okay.” Onai said as he walked out of the bathroom
\tA moment later Luna finished and left the bathroom.
\t“Okay let’s finish you up now.” Vapor said.
\tThirty minutes later the two walked out of the bathroom with Fang hanging on Vapor’s shoulder.
\t“Vapor. Stop. Can’t breath.” Fang said between short slow breaths. His head started moving around in a circle then he started to fall forward. Vapor swung around in front of him and caught him. Willow jumped up and rushed over to help her get him back to the bed. They laid him back down as Willow called out for a nurse. The nurse returned and hooked Fang back up to the IVs and a few machines, four less than before.
\t“You okay Mr. Wolfe?” The nurse asked.
\t“Yeah. Got dizzy and lost balance and was hard to breathe.” Fang replied as Onai climbed up on the bed and fell asleep.
\t“Your lungs are very weak. You’re not able to get as much oxygen as you need right now. Take it easy and stay in bed. Do not get up without help!” The nurse stated. She typed on the computer and took his vitals then left the room a few minutes later.
\tThe three of them talked among each other about various things. After an hour Onai had woken up and Luna asked to get on the bed. Both pups asked if they could watch cartoons. Fang turned the TV on and everyone watched TV for a few hours. They were interrupted when the doctor walked into the room.
\t“How are you feeling Fang? Any more pain?” The doctor asked while taking vitals, checking machines and typing on the computer.
\t“I’m feeling good. Not much pain, even with two pups clinging and climbing on me. I think I’ve learned how much I can walk before I’m not able to get air and something happens to me.” Fang explained.
\t“Good. Good. I’d like to keep you for one more night though just to make sure. If you feel good in the morning we can discharge you then.” The doctor stated.
\t“Good to hear.” Fang replied.
\t“These two your brother and sister?” The doctor asked.
\t“No. They’re Vapor’s and mine. They’re both one year old.” Fang replied.
\t“Wow. I didn’t know you two had pups. They are beautiful. Just so you know, they can’t stay with you here at night.” The doctor stated.
\t“I wasn’t going to let them. My mom will take them home in a couple of hours.” Fang replied.
\t“Okay. I’ll see you all later then.” The doctor said and then left the room.
\t“Willow, it’s three PM don’t forget about Pepper at school.” Vapor stated.
\t“I haven’t. Abby said she would pick her up from school. I let the school know that she would be picked up by Abby.” Willow commented.
\tThe evening came fast, both Luna and Onai had fallen asleep on the bed in between Fang’s arms and chest. A knock sounded at the door. “Come in” Willow stated. The door opened, Abby and Pepper walked into the room. Pepper slowly made her way up to Fang.
\t“Are you okay Fang?” Pepper asked quietly, her muzzle ajar just slightly. Fear and sorrow in her eyes.
\t“I’m okay Pepper. How are you?” Fang replied.
\t“I’m okay.” Pepper replied.
\t“I’d give you a hug, but…” Fang said as he looked down.
\t“It’s okay” Pepper said then leaned on the bed and kissed him on his muzzle and then pulled back. She looked at all of the machines and tubes and everything that was hooked up to her older brother, her only sibling.
\t“You have so many things hooked to you. Do they hurt?” Pepper asked.
\t“No they don’t.” Fang replied with a smile. He lifted his arm and put it on the back of her head and caressed her gently.
\t“Hi Abby. How are you doing?” Fang asked.
\t“I’m fine. I’d ask how you are doing but Pepper already asked.” Abby said as she sat down next to Willow on the couch.
\t“Thank you for watching the cubs so much the past couple of weeks.” Fang said.
\t“Not a problem at all. I just hope that you get better soon.” Abby responded.
\t“I will. But it’s going to be a long road for me though.” Fang replied.
\tA couple of hours passed by while everyone talked to each other, during that time both Luna and Onai woke up from their nap.
\t“Okay. I think it’s time for me to take the two pups and Pepper and head back home.” Willow stated. Willow, Pepper, Onai, Luna and Abby said their goodbyes to Fang and Vapor and left the room.
\tVapor climbed into bed and laid next to Fang. She rolled over onto her side and cuddled up against him. She smiled and kissed him on the lips. She used a little tongue for a few seconds but retracted it just as fast. She smiled as his heartbeat monitor jumped by about twenty percent higher. “Vapor. No. Don’t get yourself or us into trouble.” Fang said and gently pushed her away.
\t“Aww, okay.” Vapor replied and then smiled.
\tShe laid back down and turned her head and watched Fang fumble with the TV remote. She took it in paw and flipped through the channels until Fang spoke up to stop. They laid there watching “How It’s made” again. In short time they both fell asleep.
\tThe next morning Vapor woke up to Fang on her. He had rolled over and was sleeping on Vapor, his chest pressing down on hers.
\t“Fang. Wake up. You’re on your chest.” Vapor said trying to roll Fang over on his back.
\t“FANG!” Vapor said louder.
\tFang stirred then pain shot through his body while he still laid on Vapor. He rolled over on his back and grabbed his chest. The nurse rushed in ten seconds later.
\t“Are you okay Fang? You’re heart rate skyrocketed suddenly.” She said as she looked at the screens.
\t“Morning Ma’am. Sorry. I had rolled over on Vapor at some point. Vapor woke me up and then the pain hit me.” Fang explained.
\t“I’ll be back in a minute.” Vapor said as she headed into the bathroom.
\tFang looked down at his chest and it was slowly bleeding. He touched it and looked at his paw.
\t“I’m bleeding.” He said to the nurse.
\t“I saw. A few stitches broke. I’ll be back in a few minutes.” She said and then left
\tAfter Vapor returned from the bathroom as the nurse came back in carrying an aluminum tray with a few items on it. She pulled up a roll-away table and sat it down on it. Vapor walked to the other side of the bed and watched as the nurse pulled out the burst stitches. She pushed a small needle into him near the gash. He winched in pain as the fluid flowed in but seconds he smiled. A small amount of morphine. They both watched as she threaded the stitch into the small needle and pull it through. Willow walked into the room and stopped at the foot of the bed. She watched in silence as the nurse pushed the needle into his skin and out the other side of the wound. She did this three more times. She lifted the stitch thread and snipped it near the knot. She sat everything in the tray and pulled off her gloves.
\t“Be careful Fang. Try not to burst anymore stitches. You break too many in a day and we’ll have to keep you here longer.” She stated.
\t“Yes Ma’am. Thanks.” Fang replied.
\tThey watched as the nurse took the tray and left the room. Fang explained what happened. A short time later food was brought to Fang. He let Vapor eat but she left most of it for Fang. They sat in the room for the next few hours waiting for the doctor to come in and check on Fang for his release.
\tThe doctor finally walked into the room and checked over Fang. Checked the stitches, his breathing and other vitals.
\t“Before I can release you we need to get out of bed and see how you walk on your own.” The doctor stated.
\t“It’s it a bit too soon to release him?” Willow asked.
\t“He’s healing up fairly well. He’s been here for two months. His last x-ray and cat scan came back good for his lungs, stomach and other organs. As long as he takes it easy and doesn’t overexert himself, he’ll be good,” the doctor explained.
\t“Okay. As long as you think it’s a good idea,” Willow replied.
\t“If anything does happen he can, of course, be brought back, but I don’t think anything well as long as he follows instructions,” the doctor replied.
\t“Okay,” Willow replied.
\t“You ready Fang?” The doctor asked.
\tFang nodded and leaned up. He moved his legs over the side of the bed and started to slide his body off the bed.
\t“Be careful Fang.” Vapor replied as she stood up and moved beside Fang.
\t“Let him do everything. You can catch him if needed. I’ll be on his other side to catch him as well.” The doctor stated.
\tFang lifted his body off the bed and placed his hindpaws on the floor. Placing his 125 pounds of weight on his paws he took a few steps and let out a deep breath. He walked just a short distance around the room before stopping and leaned on Vapor.
\t“It’s still … really … damn hard to breath … while walking, but it’s tolerable.” Fang replied.
\t“Okay. Any severe pain from your chest around your lungs?” The doctor replied.
\t“Not really. Just hurts breathing while standing up. Esp… ~pained grunt~ Especially while walking,” Fang replied breathing heavily.
\t“Your lungs are working harder while walking and standing. The stitches and the truma doesn’t help. You should be fine. Just don’t do anything to cause you the need to breath deeply for the next couple of months.” The doctor stated.
\t“What about walking in school? The hallways are long and quite a few. I’d be late for all my classes.” Fang asked.
\t“I can write you a note stating that you must have support and extra time while walking around. I’m sure Vapor would help to do that.” The doctor stated.
\t“I don’t mind. It’ll get both of us out of class about fifteen or twenty minutes early.” Vapor replied.
\t“Okay. Walk around again please.” The doctor stated. Fang inhaled and exhaled. He walked around for about half a minute before he stopped and leaned against Vapor. He was breathing hard and shallowly.
\t“No more please. I can … do it … but. Short.” He said but stopped short. He walked over to the bed and sat down on it. His paws barely touching the floor.
\t“Short distances only,” he finished.
\t“That’s good enough for now Fang. Do you feel anything else that you think might be wrong?” The doctor asked.
\t“No.” Fang replied shaking his head.
\t“Okay Mr. Wolfe. I think you can be released. Just no rough play, no lifting anything over five pounds including your pups. No physical activities, including sexual interactions of any type, no oral, vaginal or anal. Not even masturbation. But more importantly no more getting into fights. Stay home for the next two weeks to further heal up.” The doctor explained.
\t“I’ll do my best doctor. Thank You.” Fang replied as he blushed.
\t“You all take care. You can check out on the first floor. You can pickup your pain killer and antibiotic prescriptions on the first floor as well.” The doctor stated and then left the room.
\t“Well. You ready to go home, baby?” Vapor asked.
\t“Yeah, but I would like to get out of this gown though.” Fang replied.
\t“Here’s some clothes for you.” Willow said and handed him a bag. Fang took the next few minutes getting dressed. Unable to bend down, Vapor helped him with his underwear and shorts.
\t“You want your shoes?” Vapor asked.
\t“When do I ever wear shoes?” Fang responded slightly annoyed at the question.
\t“Of course. Never.” Vapor replied.
\t“Sorry Fang. I just grabbed them by my own instinct,” Willow replied.
\t“Why did you even buy shoes for me?” Fang asked.
\t“I don’t know sweetie. I guess in hope that you’ll wear them on occasions.” Willow replied and kissed his head.
\tFang smiled and slowly lifted his body off the bed. After a moment to gain his balance, he headed towards the door. Vapor followed beside him, supporting him. She opened the heavy door. The three of them stepped out into the hallway. Fang looked around and began to take a step but stopped at a sight none of them wanted to see.
\t“I’ll fucking kill you both!” Jag shouted out struggling in the arms of two police officers. He broke free from the cops and rushed towards Fang. His paws in front of him in handcuffs. Vapor moved herself in front of Fang and took a fighting stance. Her teeth and fangs bared. She growled loudly; it echoed through the hallways. Willow quickly moved next to Vapor, ready to rip this tiger up. Jag was about 15 feet away from them when he hit the floor with a Bzzzt sounding sound. Jag started convulsing on the ground then his body tensed up, straight as a piece of lumber.
\t“See you in court asshole.” Fang replied as the officers rushed up to Jag.
\t“Sorry about that. I’m not sure how he escaped our hold.” One of the officers stated.
\tFang shrugged at the officers and turned to his left. He continued walking down the hallway holding onto the wall bars. Vapor and Willow stood there processing what happened.
\t“You two coming?” Fang asked loudly while slowly walking down the hallway, grasping hold of the wall bars. Both snapped out of their fight stance and caught up to Fang. The nurse rushed over to check on Jag.
\t“I don’t need fucking help!” He scowled and watched Fang and the girl wolf disappear around the curve.

\tAt home Fang sat down on the couch and rested his head against the back.
\t“So glad to be back home.” Fang stated.
\t“DADDY!” Luna and Onai shouted as they climbed down the stairs of the living room.
\t“Hey kids. How’s it going?” Fang asked.
\t“Good.” Both replied as the climbed up on the couch and sat down next to Fang. Fang petted their heads.
\t“Vapor help me take my shirt and pants off.” Fang stated. Vapor came over and helped him remove his shirt. Fang stood up and unsnapped his shorts, letting them drop to the ground. Luna and Onai let out a giggle.
\t“Daddy naked.” Luna said giggling. Fang sat back down and let out a long series of deep shallow breaths. Panting short deep breaths fast.
\t“Feels better without clothing. Doesn’t press up against my the wounds or stitches.” Fang explained.
\tOnai rested his head on his dad’s arm while Luna took his thick fluffy tail and cuddled it, as she leaned against his other arm. The family sat in the living room for a bit recalling everything that had happened getting ready to speak to a lawyer. It wasn’t long until Fang tired out and wanted to go up to their bedroom.
\t“Kids, I’m going up to our room. You want to go play with Aunt Pepper?” Fang asked. Both Onai and Luna leapt off the couch and climbed up the stairs.
\t“Fang. Vapor. I’m sure I don’t need to say this, but no sex of any type until Fang is fully healed. My rules and the doctors instructions as well.” Willow stated.
\t“We know.” Fang replied as he leaned on Vapor and looked back. He looked back at the stairs before they started the long and slow climb up the stairs.
\t“If either of you need anything give me a call, okay?” Willow stated.
\t“Okay. Thanks.” The pair replied.
\tTwo weeks had passed since Fang was released from the hospital and both Fang and Vapor returned to school. It was their first day back in over two weeks. Fang and Vapor walked the halls to get to their next classes in ease since they were allowed to leave 15 minutes before class ended. Fang was only able to walk about forty feet before having to stop to catch his breath.
\t“Maybe I should have mom take me back to the hospital and have them check my lungs out. I think that I should be able to walk more than thirty or forty feet without stopping by now.” Fang said quietly.
\t“Fang. You’ve got like a hundred stitches in your lungs. Of course it’s going to be hard to breath and walk until they fully heal. Remember the doctor said it would be like this for two months or more.” Vapor replied back.
\t“I know. You’re right. I just don’t want anything bad to happen. Come on, let’s go. We’ve got five minutes left before the others are released.” Fang replied back with a kiss.
\tThey continued their walk down the hallway. They stepped out of the classroom hallway and into the main hallway. He stopped at their locker and leaned back against it. He looked at the floor where a large section of carpet was cut out. He laid his head against the locker and breathed heavy shallow breaths. He turned his head towards Vapor.
\t“Vapor, when my lungs were torn open. It scared the fucking shit out of me, more than anything else. I could only get a small amount of air. I felt like, I don’t know, a large rock on me. Crushing me. No matter how much I tried I couldn’t get air. I don’t want to go through that again.” Fang said as tears started flowing down his face and dripped of his muzzle.
\t“Don’t think about it baby. You’re alive and getting better. That’s all that matters now. You’re still with us, with our cubs, with me, your mom and sister. That’s all that matters now Fang, nothing else,” Vapor replied. She moved in front of him and locked him into a kiss as the school bell rung. Ten seconds later the halls filled with students as they continued their long passionate kiss. Both of them getting looks from friends and students. They continued for another half minute until Principal Rosco walked up to the pair and gently separated Vapor from Fang.
\t“Come on you two, I know that you understand our no display of affection while on school grounds rule,” he stated and crossed his arms.
\t“Sorry Principal Rosco, but he needed cheering up. This spot brought back all the memories of the incident,” Vapor replied.
\t“I understand but still rules are rules Mrs. Wolfe. It’s nice to see you back in school Fang and you too Vapor,” Rosco stated.
\t“We aren’t in trouble for the fight are we?” Fang asked.
\t“No Fang, neither of you are. Mr. Tiger started it. It wouldn’t be right for me to punish you, either of you, after what happened. That incident should not have happened. If I had known that he had that history with you, I would not have let him enroll back in this school. I should have talked to you sooner, I’m sorry. I’ve been so busy for the past month dealing with the police, lawyers, administration and more that I just couldn’t get the time to talk to you. I’m sorry for that,” Rosco explained.
\t“Good. I’d hate to have to bring the school district into a lawsuit over this,” Fang stated.
\t“Here, you’ll both need these,” Rosco stated and signed a piece of paper as the bell rung.
\t“Thank you Principal Rosco,” both replied taking the excused late note in paw.
\t“Go on, get to class you two and no more kissing please,” Rosco replied.
\t“We’ll try not to, no promises though,” Fang replied and then smiled.
\t“Hey, I noticed that you’re moving slower than expected, even without the kissing, so I’m extending your time to go to class to half an hour instead of fifteen minutes. That should give you more than enough time, but don’t abuse it please,” Rosco stated.
\t“Oh thank goodness. Thank you so much Principal Rosco!” Fang exclaimed as the one-minute warning bell rung.
\t“Okay, go on. Get to your class,” he replied and then headed back to his office.

\tThe following week the police officer had called and let Willow know that the paperwork for the assault charge was ready. Willow called the school after she got off the phone and had them pull Vapor and Fang out of class. The three of them drove down to the police station and signed the paperwork.
\t“When will the court hearing be?” Fang asked.
\t“I don’t know. We’ll send the paperwork up the ladder and a judge’s assistant will contact you with all of the details,” an officer stated.
\t“Okay. Thank you,” Fang replied.
\t“Where is Jag Tiger at right now? I’m just curious,” Fang asked.
\t“Uh…” the police officer stated and flipped through a folder, “he’s in the state Juvenal Detention center a few hours away. He’ll be held there until the court hearing. During the court hearing, he’ll be in a jail near the court house,” the police officer explained.
\t“Okay, thank you sir,” Fang replied.
\tThe three of them headed home.

\t“Come on Fang. Just a few more reps with the barbells,” the female physical therapist stated. Fang glared at her breathing heavily and holding his chest. He shook his head at her.
\t“No. No more. I can’t. Chest burning. Hurting like fucking hell,” he said and sat down. He held his chest while breathing deep shallow breaths.
\t“Fang, it’s only a five pound barbell. You have to get to 50 reps today. You can do it!” She cheered and egged him.
\t“Can I at least do the last few sitting? My head is spinning,” he asked.
\t“Sure, but no resting your elbows on your legs or chest,” she replied and held the barbell in front of him. He took it and then rested his arm on his leg for a moment. He lifted his arm up and struggled to pull it up to under his muzzle. After a few minutes he sat the barbell back down.
\t“I’m done … that’s ~heavy breathing~ 50 reps,” he said. He slouched in the chair and rested his head on the back while holding his chest.
\t“Well done Fang. That’s the end of week two,” she stated.
\t“Oh yeah, only another two and a half months to go of this!” He replied and rolled his eyes.
\t“It’ll go by fast,” she replied.
\t“Yeah but this isn’t how I want to spend an hour after school everyday and two hours on Saturday,” Fang huffed out, finally getting his breathing under control.
\t“I know how you feel, I work here Monday through Saturday,” she replied.
\t“Yeah, sorry,” Fang replied with half a smile.
\t“Okay, you’re family is waiting for you. You have a good day Fang,” she replied.
\t“You too, thanks,” he replied and then left. He walked back to the lobby waiting room and then leaned up against a wall to catch his breath. Vapor jumped up and ran over to him. She waited patiently until he took her arm and they walked out of the building.
\tThree months after the assault, Fang had mostly healed up nicely. His lungs and stomach were still healing but he could now start doing more activities. His chest and abdominal wounds were also healing up quite well. Thanksgiving, Christmas and the pups second birthday had came and went. Fang was still on strict instructions by his doctor to not have any sexual interactions or lift anything over twenty pounds until further notice. His doctor said at least another six months, bad timing for Vapor as she went into heat.

\tFang and Vapor laid on the bed on a January Friday evening. Fang looked down at his chest and ran his fingers over the three sets of scars.
\t“Well, I guess I’ve got more scars. Maybe I should change my name to Scar.” Fang said with a laugh.
\t“If you do I’ll divorce you and take the pups.” Vapor jokingly replied.
\t“I know you too well Vapor. You wouldn’t do that. You wouldn’t be able to handle being away from me.” Fang replied and leaned over and kissed Vapor.
\t“Yeah, you’re right.” Vapor replied pulling Fang into a cuddle. They laid there cuddling each other until they both fell asleep in short time.
\tMonday the next week, after school, Fang answered the phone.
\t“Hello?” Fang asked.
\t“Hello. Is Willow, Fang, or Vapor Wolfe available?” A fur asked.
\t“This is Fang Wolfe. How can I help you?” Fang asked.
\t“This is the assistant for Judge Owl. Judge Owl asked me to call to let you know that the court date for the assault charge for Jag Tiger will be on June twenty-first. He wanted to have it outside of school time so none of you would miss any more days of school.” The fur stated.
\t“That will be fine. Thank you for letting us know.” Fang replied.
\t“Have a good weekend Mr. Wolfe.” The assistant replied before hanging up.
\tFang hung the phone up and looked over at Willow and Vapor who sat in the living room.
\t“Court date is set for June twenty-first.” Fang stated with an exhale.
