They are the original and rightful intellectual property of their creators. I use them with permission and respect. This work involves micro macro content with underaged characters. You have been warned.\n\nIt was a long but quiet night for the two cubs. The seemingly infinite silence that the stars brought with them was disturbed only by the constant chirping of crickets. A few owls kept watch nearby, their ever-vigilant gaze and all too familiar call echoing through the wind. Neither cub would be disturbed by a dream nor by a nightmare. Pent protectively wrapped the other boy within his grasp, keeping him tight against his larger form.\n\nXavier was the first one to take up the following morning. Bright rays of sunlight peered through the windows down onto them, making it seem warmer than it actually was. The rodent's eyes fluttered before he finally relented and came around. Yawning and stretching, the chipmunk sat upright. Seeing the large boy beneath him reminded him just how small he was. Looking back down at the boy he loved, a soft smile crept across his face as he gazed at Pent still peacefully sleeping. \n\n The curve at the center of Pent's chest was the only part of his midsection that wasn't completely flat. Sitting on it was a bit awkward, but not enough to cause him any discomfort. Still, nature was calling, and he needed to take care of his needs. Xavier slowly scooted himself to the rounded edge of the fox's stomach. Sliding off it, he landed square in the side of the bed. It was then once again that he realized it wouldn't be as simple as he thought it might be.\n\nFor a moment, he contemplated what to do. Looking back at the fox, he knew that Pent was still sleeping, and he didn't want to disturb him. After a moment of thinking about it, he decided he would tackle the challenge himself. Gazing down from the bed, he could see that some of the sheets hung over the side of it. It was long enough that the fabric cascaded almost completely over the side and created a drop point that he could use.\n\nXavier grabbed a wrinkled portion of the sheets near the edge of the bed. Pulling on it twice before slowly lowering himself. Keeping his body square against the mattress, he used it as a way to walk backwards. It was far from the professional techniques of mountain climbers, but he had only done something similar a few times in gym class. Slowly, he eased himself downward, using the fabric of the sheets as a makeshift rope as he worked his way down the side of the mattress.\n\nThe whole process took him several minutes before he was finally low enough to hop to the ground. Taking a deep breath, he puffed out his chest proudly. He was happy that he had managed it without his boyfriend's help. Looking back up, he huffed. He had tried to push his little issue to the back of his mind, but seeing the size of the bed only made it even more obvious how little he was. A thought occurred to him…had Pent's most recent solution done anything? He wasn't certain.\n\nLooking back at the bed before him and then ahead, Xavier considered his choice. There was no question that he needed to take care of business. But his size would likely cause an issue, he told himself. Yet, the cub had always been a bit suttborn. Independence was one of those things he cherished more than anything else. He was determined to do the deed without help, and so he steeled on.\n\nFortunately, the door to the bathroom was open. Padding ahead, the chipmunk made his way into the tile floor of the restroom. Within, things had been cleaned up from the previous night. It looked like Pent had cleaned up after him since Xavier wasn't exactly in a state to take care of it himself. As he scanned the room, he noticed a waste basket stashed in the corner over by where the toilet was.\n\nXavier walked towards it and looked at it. The container was bigger than he was, but not by much. Looking at it, he could almost see over its head. He wasn't sure if he had gotten bigger or if the trash bucket was just small. Reaching onto the lip, he gently pulled the thing over. Fortunately, there wasn't anything inside of it, so he flipped the thing completely over on its side. As it fell, the chipmunk guided it so that it didn't fall on top of him.\n\nShifting himself so that he could grab the base of it, Xavier popped it back upright. Now that it was standing again, the rodent used his boyish might to pull himself on top of it. It didn't take as much effort as he expected, and he now faced towards the lid of the toilet. It had been left down, so he could see the slight curves of it. The smooth lid made it a bit more difficult than he anticipated, and each time he tried, his hand slipped. After a few attempts at it, he huffed in a show of frustration.\n\n\"Need some help?\" A familiar voice beckoned from the door.\n\nThe brown furred boy looked toward the door. \"Yeah…I guess so.\"\n\n\tSlowly, Pent closed the gap between them. Offering both of his paws, he allowed his boyfriend to step on them. Guiding him upward until the smaller boy was able to hop on the lid on his own. The fox did not remain while the other cub took care of his needs. Descending from above back to the ground below, once he had. Feeling a bit proud that he at least had managed that. Finding his boyfriend waiting for him outside the door when he returned to the room.\n\n\"What'cha want for breakfast?\" Pent asked with his usual smile.\n\nThe chipmunk looked up at him, smiling back. \"How about some oatmeal?\"\n\n\"Simple enough. Do you want some help to get back to the kitchen?\" The fox asked, being careful not to sound commanding.\n\nThe brown furred boy shook his head. \"Nah, I'll be okay.\"\n\n\tWith that confirmation, the arctic fox padded into the distance. Xavier was somewhat distracted by his own thoughts. When he was standing next to the other boy, he couldn't help but notice that he could see the mid portion of Pent's calf. The thought that maybe he was possibly returning to normal was still on the back of his mind, and this gave him a little hope. Still…he couldn't be certain and decided not to mention it just yet.\n\n\tMaking his short strides down the hall, the chipmunk continued into the kitchen. He could see that the fox was already hard at work. Xavier wanted to help his boyfriend, but decided to let it go since he had already gotten started. Gazing towards the table, he padded over toward it. The chair closest had a seat that was still out of his reach. Hopping a few times, he tried to grab the rim of it but fell short before eventually becoming frustrated.\n\n\"Here, let me help.\" The bigger cub had turned around and noticed his struggle. \n\n\tHuffing, the chipmunk relented. Xavier might have been stubborn, but he knew when things were pointless. Pent stepped over near him, right next to him, before leaning down. Stopping for a moment, the fox stared at him for a moment.\n\n\"Hey, I think you might be a little bit bigger.\" Pent said before holding his hand paws out for his boyfriend to get on top of.\n\nThe chipmunk slowly walked onto the other cub's hands. \"You think so? I noticed it too this morning when I went to the bathroom.\"\n\n\"Yeah, I think so.\" The fox guided him up towards the seat of the chair.\n\nThe smaller cub hopped off him when he was close enough. \"I hope so. I don't want to be any smaller.\"\n\n\"I'm sure. It was crazy.\" The white furred boy walked away before returning to making breakfast.\n\nXavier looked in front of him, feeling good about the fact that he could see just above the table top. He figured he would still need a booster or something, but it definitely made him feel better about the situation. It wasn't much longer before the arctic fox served up two bowls of oatmeal along with some freshly cut fruit and glasses of juice. Purposely, he had given his boyfriend smaller servings of each of them, certain his appetite had shifted a bit.\n\n\"Foxy, can you get me a booster or something?\" The chipmunk tried to reach the bowl, but it was a bit too far for him.\n\nNodding, the fox cub went into the living room before returning with one of his larger books. Briefly picking up Xavier before placing him on top of the book. The extra leverage provided the chipmunk what he needed to reach the bowl of oatmeal. Both boys began eating without hesitation. The rodent didn't bother to pick up the spoon, instead opting to scoop it up with his small hands. Taking smaller bites than his boyfriend but getting through it quickly, all the same.\n\nWhen they finished, the bigger boy got up from the table. Xavier didn't finish his meal, but he had eaten most of it.\n\n\"Want some help, Pent?\" The rodent asked since he hadn't had a chance to help in preparing it.\n\nThe fox boy nodded. \"Sure, let me get you up to the counter.\"\n\nPadding over to the bigger boy, he slowly eased his hands down to offer his boyfriend a step up. Xavier once again mounted the cub's squishy paw pads before waiting for Pent to bring him over to the counter. Placing him on top, the arctic fox handed him a smaller hand towel before busying himself with washing the dishes. After each one was cleaned, he placed it in front of him. It took Xavier about the same effort as the previous night, but before long, they were finished.\n\n\"So uh…what do you wanna do today, given your situation hasn't improved much?\" The white furred cub wanted his boyfriend to pick. \n\nXavier hummed a moment before answering. \"You know what might be fun? Do you think I could fit in the driver's seat of your RC car?\"\n\n\"Uh, maybe. You want to take a ride in it?\" The fox boy cracked a smile as he thought about what that might be like.\n\nThe rodent nodded. \"Yeah, let's do it before I get too big.\"\n\nLeveling his hands by the edge of the countertop, Pent offered help to his boyfriend. The chipmunk slowly eased himself onto his palms again before sitting down. Pent took slow and careful steps, more because he was worried about the other boy falling from his relaxed grasp than anything else. Continuing into his room, the bigger boy slightly shifted Xavier so that he was on one of his hands. Looking in his closet for the RC car\n and remote that went with it, grabbing a change of clothes while he was at it.\n\nPulling it out, the fox cub placed it on the floor before easing his other hand forward. Xavier waited for his boyfriend to take him low enough to hop down. Jumping off neat it, he noticed the plastic frame of the vehicle was a bit smaller than he was. In fact, he could see clearly over the roof of it. It made him smile. Maybe he was still growing? He couldn't be sure, but he certainly hoped so. The chiping slid himself through the open window into the driver's seat.\n\nInside the front panel was little more than stickers and a few small lights. The windshield in front of him was made out of plastic and was the only window the thing had in it. Looking behind him, there were no back seats. Instead, he could see the curvature of the plastic and some of the electronics that fed into the motor beneath the chassis of the rac car. The seat itself was also plastic and offered no seat belt, but instead a single buckle, which had been designed for figures.\n\nXavier squeezed himself under it as he didn't want to shift around in the seat. \n\n\"Are you ready yet?\" He could hear his boyfriend's voice from outside the car.\n\nThe rodent shouted back. \"Yeah.\"\n\nA small whir followed as the engine kicked to life. The little RC car sped forward in an instant, going from 0 to 50 kmph in seconds flat. Xavier felt his whole body push backward as the change in velocity caught him somewhat off guard. Pent steered the thing through the hallway and back to the front room. Going around the couch a few times before stopping to go in reverse. The rodent couldn't help but chuckle as he was rather enjoying himself.\n\nOpening the door, the fox stepped to the side so he could steer the car through it. Bucking and bashing back and forward, the chipmunk's body vibrated against the constant impact with the stairs. Pent kept close nearby, making sure that the car didn't get out of control. Settled only by a rubberized thump on the pavement below as the rodent held on the plastic steering wheel for whatever support he could garner.\n\nDriving the vehicle around the complex, the bigger boy took it into the grassy glades just behind it. The vehicle slowed a bit but plowed forward through the backyard. Spinning out into a muddy mess as the dirt flicked in through the openings on both sides of the car. Xavier was much too slow in shielding himself, and he held fast. It was getting intense, and his adrenaline was pumping through his body.\n\nA few moments later, the white furred cub brought the thing to a stop. The sudden jolt from motion forward left Xavier's frame pasted against the seat for a mere second. Kneeling, the white furred cub picked up the vehicle and looked within. Pent's blue eyes peered at the chipmunk, and back at him stared the gleeful gaze of his boyfriend. Looking at him, it appeared he had changed clothes while he was in the car.\n\n\"That was fun, Pent. Can I get out now?\" The chipmunk asked as he figured it was over with.\n\nSaying nothing, the bigger boy set him down. Getting out of the plastic buckle was harder than getting in. A slight movement from the chipmunk broke the plastic that was previously holding him in. Slowly, he moved out of the car's window, finding it even tighter than before. Standing outside of it, the chipmunk found that the top frame of it barely came up to his shoulder. A smile crept across his face as he thought about it.\n\n\"Hey, Pent. Do I look bigger to you?\" The rodent asked as he looked up at the cub kneeling next to him.\n\nThe white furred boy examined him closely. \"It's hard to tell, but maybe a little.\"\n\n\"I hope so. I don't want to be little forever. Maybe I should take more of the medicine you gave me?\" Xavier wondered if maybe more of it would help him along.\n\nThe bigger cub shook his head. \"Probably not until it wears off. We risk having you overdose on it.\"\n\n\"Alright, you know more about it than I do.\" The chipmunk never questioned his boyfriend's knowledge, as he was the smarter cub.\n\nThe arctic fox smiled at him before picking up the RC car. \"What do you want to do now? Is there anything else you want to try while you're small enough?\"\n\n\"Hmm, I don't have any other ideas other than driving the RC car. Can you think of anything that might be fun to try?\" \n\nPent thought about it a moment. \"Maybe you could try an adventure through the badger hole? I found one nearby if you want.\"\n\n\"It might be pretty dark in there if I go deep enough. I'll check it out.\" The rodent liked the idea of an adventure.\n\nKneeling, the white furred boy once again offered a helping paw to the other cub. Xavier took a slow and careful step onto his hand. The fox shifted his hand, noticing the other boy was a bit heavier than earlier. Nothing major, but still a slight difference as the brown furred boy plopped himself between the bigger boy's paw pads. Making slow but careful steps, Pent headed into the wooded area just beyond the fenced-in compound behind the complex.\n\nA small wooden gate led to it that creaked as he opened it. Just beyond it was an undeveloped part of the area. Originally, the community had plans of building a pool, but such designs were abandoned when the project never got enough funding. Instead, what remained there was overgrown brush and shrubs. A small outcropping of trees canopied over the area with several piles of leaves underneath it.\n\nPent made his way to where he thought the badger hole was. Normally, he wouldn't suggest such things, but he had been keeping track of the badger for some time. Recently, the badger had likely relocated as he hadn't seen any signs of it. Right over the hole, the fox lowered himself once again and let his boyfriend onto the ground. The rodent looked before him, noticing the hole in front of him, circled by moist clumps of dirt.\n\nEasing himself into it, the chipmunk dropped himself into the hole. The entrance of it was slick and muddy, quickly dirtying himself as he slid down to the first curve of it. Xavier looked down at it further before continuing. The light from outside poured through a small part of it, illuminating the root-encrusted wall. A few claw marks could be seen, but none of them looked fresh, and the whole thing smelled of a light musty earthy odor.\n\nLooking up briefly, the rodent saw that his boyfriend was still closely watching him. Xavier wasn't afraid and walked forward carefully. Each step was slick and took careful placement for his paws not to slip from underneath him. Keeping himself pressed up against the wall with his hand, the chipmunk continued forward. \n\n\"Let me know if you find anything interesting.\" The fox boy said from behind him as his voice echoed through the small cavern.\n\nPadding forward, the brown furred boy lost his footing and slid several meters further before the slope ended in a plateau. Xavier couldn't see as much light here, but there was still enough to make out everything around him. In the corner, a pile of leaves, twigs, and dead grass. From what he could gather, the badger had likely nested here. Though he couldn't be sure since he saw no other signs of it.\n\nJust beyond the nest, he could see that the dirt path came to an end. It didn't seem like the badger had dug very far, and he looked around once more to see anything else interesting. He noticed a few eggshells lying around the area of the nest, likely meals for the beast who previously resided here. Feeling some water dripping down, he looked up and noticed some of the moist ceiling was beginning to crumble.\n\nDeciding to head out, the chipmunk began to dig his way out of the hole. Going back up was much more difficult than going down it. He had no claws, so instead he had to dig his fingers into the dirt. Each hold offered him very little headway in getting up. Sometimes his hand would slip, and the dirt would crumble, leaving him to slide down once again. After a few tries of it, the cub decided he needed his boyfriend's help.\n\n\"Pent, can you throw me down something to help me get out of here?' Xavier figured his boyfriend probably couldn't fit his hand down as far as he had gotten.\n\nA few meters away, back on the surface, the arctic fox heard a familiar voice from down below. It was drowned out a bit, but he knew who it was. Looking around for something to stick into the hole, he eventually found a fallen twig that seemed thick enough to support the other cub's still small weight. He shoved it into the hole slowly, causing the branch to flex as it fit through some of the curves of the tunnel.\n\nA moment later, the chipmunk saw the edge of the branch poking towards him. Stopping just short of where he was, he was all but certain this was his way out. Grappling himself around it with both of his paws, he held on tight.\n\n\"I'm ready, foxy.\" The chipmunk shouted again.\n\nThe same voice echoed once again, and the bigger cub retracted the branch. Going just as slowly back out of it so that the thing didn't snap. It only took a minute or so before the twig was completely withdrawn. Sure enough, at the end of it, he saw the smaller cub holding onto the far edge of it. The brown furred boy was completely caked in mud and dirt.\n\nThe bigger cub chuckled at him. \"You look like you've been swimming in a mud bath. Was it interesting?\"\n\n\"There wasn't much down there besides a nest and roots.\" Xavier got off the branch and tried brushing his fur off.\n\nThe arctic fox smiled lightly. \"Well, that still sounds cool. Not everyone gets to explore a badger hole.\"\n\n\"I guess you're right.\" The smaller boy spit out some dirt that had gotten into his mouth. \n\nPent thought about what else they could do. \"Wanna wash you up, then we can play a board game or something?\"\n\n\"How would I play a board game like this?\" The chipmunk looked up at the other boy.\n\nThe fox hummed for a moment. \"Well, you look like you're bigger than chess pieces,\n so maybe we can play that.\"\n\n\"Foxy…you know I am terrible at chess.\" The rodent had never liked it despite how many times they'd played it together.\n\nThe white furred cub offered his hand to his boyfriend to pick him up. \"How about checkers then?\"\n\n\"Alright, sure. It's better than nothing.\" The smaller boy took a slow step onto the other cub's hand before sitting down on one of Pent's paw pads.\n\nPent began walking again, his slow but careful strides jostling the smaller boy each time he moved. He noticed the rodent's body felt a bit heavier than earlier. Making him think the boy was continuing to get bigger, even if he hadn't noticed it much. Bringing him back inside, the fox boy brought his boyfriend into the kitchen. Placing him right underneath the spout of the faucet in the sink, he turned it on.\n\nImmediately, water crashed down on the smaller cub whose body was drenched in an instant. The stream of it wasn't strong enough to move him, but he held his paws on the side of the sink just in case. Eventually, the fox slowed the stream so that his boyfriend looked more comfortable. Holding some hand soap out in a bottle, he offered it to the other boy. Xavier waited for him to squeeze it out, then proceeded to clean himself the best he could.\n\nNoticing he could see over the counter from within the basin, Xavier wondered if he was still getting bigger. It was hard to notice from his perspective since everything still looked big. Yet, he felt confident that his boyfriend had solved his little problem. Now it was only a matter of time to see if he returned to normal. After he had cleaned up a bit, he waited for Pent to turn off the water.\n\nThe fox grabbed a dish towel and allowed the small cub to climb from out of the sink basin. His dripping wet body pooled onto the wooden countertop. Offering out the towel, the fox turned on the water while the chipmunk dried himself off. Not exactly clean, Xavier felt better now that his body wasn't completely caked in mud. Shivering a bit, the other boy cut off a portion of the towel to wrap himself up in.\n \nXavier waited for his boyfriend to pick him up again. He was still wrapped up in the towel, most of which hung off his small body. Holding out his paw again, Pent waited for the other boy to hop on again. Getting onto the fox's hand paw seemed easier each time he had done it. Even his body covered more of the fox's hand surface, though it wasn't by much. The cub couldn't help but notice his feet hung off the side of Pent's fingertips.\n\nOnce again, he started walking, being just as careful as before. Taking him back to the fox's room, Pent set him slowly back down on the floor once they were inside it. Grabbing the box of checkers from the storage area inside his closet. He set it down on the floor before joining the other cub opposite Xavier. Placing the board on the floor, he began to set each of the pieces on the playing space.\n\nThe rodent waited for him to finish. Xavier knew he couldn't do much to help. After all, even if he was bigger, he was still too small to be much of assistance. They started the game before long. Pent was a much more calculated boy, overthinking every one of his moves. It made the game take much longer than with the chipmunk's other friends. Though the rodent had gotten used to it and didn't think much about it anymore.\n\nThe game started quickly with Pent nabbing a few more pieces of Xavier's board. The fox was very good at planning. Far better than the chipmunk ever had been. Yet even still, the brown furred cub was able to net enough pieces to be in the game. Even managing to get across the board and getting the first piece to be kinged. The fox was able to maintain some control of the board, but his boyfriend was starting to catch up.\n\nAfter a short while, the game ended in the fox's favor. He won by a few pieces, but it was never something he gloated about.\n\n\"Nice game, Xae. Want some lunch now?\" It was already close to the time in the afternoon when they usually ate again.\n\nThe brown furred boy nodded his head. \"Yeah, I'm really hungry.\"\n\nOnce again, the fox offered his paw as a helping hand to the other cub. Gently, Xavier shook his head, wanting to do it himself. He'd relied on Pent enough and wanted to walk on his own, even if it took longer. Nodding, the bigger cub went on his way, already planning in his mind what he wanted to make for him. Xavier walked by the door where there was a height chart plastered against it.\n\nMeasuring himself with his own paw, he chuckled. \"Cool, I think I'm still growing.\"\n\nSmirking to himself, he got an idea. What if he helped himself along? He wasn't sure if Pent had made more of the concoction the previous day. But he figured it was worth a look. The chipmunk strode his way down the hallway to the living room. Looking within the kitchen, he could see that the fox cub was still working on whatever he was making. He knew he didn't have much time, but he could try.\n\nLooking over at the door to where the fox's makeshift lab was, the door was slightly cracked open. He had recalled Pent closing the door yesterday, but figured the other boy had poked his head in there at some point. Padding over, he placed himself right between the crack that led into it. The space left by the crack was just enough for him to squeeze through. Just beyond the door, he could see the chair tucked in under the desk.\n\nHe gazed upward to see if there was any way he could get up to the countertop. The chair underneath it seemed like it wasn't an option since the base of it was plastic and seemed too smooth to gain traction on. Next to the desk was a small trash bin, but it looked too small for him to stand up on and hop on the countertop. On the other side of it, he noticed the coat rack where the fox boy's lab coat hung.\n\nFrom looking at it, he wondered if the rungs of the rack could support his weight if he tried to climb up the coat. Figuring it was worth a shot, he padded to the other side of the small room. Once underneath it, he tugged twice on the lab coat. His strength didn't seem to cause the stability of the coat rack to waver at all. Beginning to lift himself, he tried climbing up the fabric of the lab coat.\n\nXavier used the full extent of his boyish might, digging into the grooves where the buttons went. Bit by bit, he was able to make it to where he was able to hop from the lab coat to the table. For a moment, he wondered how long it took him and if his boyfriend was done yet. Figuring it was too late to back out now, he looked at the counter. Recalling from he previous day, he remembered that the concoction was an off-blue color.\n\nRight in front of him was a test tube rack. Most of them were empty, but one of them was not. The same one had a light blue substance in it. The finely written label on it read \"Maxmus\". He remembered that this was what his boyfriend used to solve his problem. Standing right next to it, he forced the plastic cap off it. Trying to lift it, the thing was heavier than he expected, but he pushed upward all the same.\n\nWith a bit of effort, he was able to force the thing through the hole that had previously held it up. Just as it fed through the hole, the thing spilled all over the counter. The blue substance poured all over him, leaving him soaked wet. Around him, the liquid began to gelify all around where the rodent was standing. The chipmunk began to panic as he looked around for anything to clean up the mess he'd just made.\n\nJust above him was a small dry rag that hung from a hook. Looking up at it, Xavier didn't think it could reach it, even standing up on something. Turning his gaze downward, the chipmunk looked around on the counter. The fox didn't seem to keep anything on the table that could be used to dry up the stuff. Yet in the few moments he had been looking around, the gel-like substance had absorbed into the wood.\n\nXavier blinked a few times before looking down at himself. Even his fur showed no signs of being doused in the chemical. He wasn't sure how it dried so quickly, but before he could think about it, the brown furred boy heard a voice.\n\n\"Where are you, Xae? Lunch is ready.\" Pent's voice sounded from the kitchen.\n\nThe chipmunk tried to stay calm. \"Coming, foxy. I had to use the bathroom.\"\n\nQuickly, the chipmunk skittered over to the side of the table. No longer worried about what he'd just spilled, he wanted to get to Pent before he suspected anything. Hopping on the side of the lab coat, he slid down it using a sewn-in hemline. Getting down was much quicker than climbing up he padded his way out of the closet and back toward the kitchen. Taking just a moment to catch his breath before finally entering the kitchen.\n\nXavier looked up at the table in front of him and saw that it looked like his boyfriend had been waiting a bit.\n\n\"Sorry about that.\" He padded over toward the chair closest to where the other cub was already sitting.\n\nThe white furred boy offered his paw to help the other boy. \"It's okay. Gotta take care of business after all.\"\n\nPent placed the other boy on the same book they had used earlier to give him a boost. The chipmunk actually could see way over the table now, almost to the other side of it. In fact, half of his body was now over the edge of the table.\n\n\"Won't be needing the book much longer, Xae.\" Pent said with a soft smile.\n\nThe smaller boy nodded. \"Yeah, it's nice to be a little bit bigger.\"\n\nThe two cubs began eating without delay. Pent had prepared them some plant-based fish substitute with a side of chips and a drink. Purposely, the fox had made his boyfriends smaller and placed them close enough to the edge so that Xavier could reach it. The food was good and hit the spot; the rodent ate a bit more than expected and even managed to finish his plate. Tipping the smaller cup in his maw, he finished the small glass in a few gulps.\n\n\"That was good, foxy.\n Thanks for making it.\" The chipmunk wiped his maw dry of his beverage mustache.\n\nThe white furred cub swallowed the last bite of his own meal. \"No problem. I am glad you liked it.\"\n\n\"You wanna watch the game today?\" Xavier had heard on the radio that there was a highly anticipated baseball game that day.\n\nPent shrugged. \"Sure, who's playing?\"\n\n\"The Jays and Yanks…the time-old rivalry. Supposed to be much more exciting than the one we saw the other day.\" The chipmunk hopped off from his makeshift seat.\n\nThe fox started to clean things up. \"Sure, I will finish up here. Go set up the television, and we can relax a bit.\"\n\n\"Do you want some help?\" The rodent wanted to ask, but he figured he already knew the answer.\n\nThe bigger boy shook his head. \"Nah, I'm alright. Go ahead.\"\n\nXavier put his arms at his side. \"Come on, foxy, I just wanna help.\"\n\n\"It's no big deal. The plates were paper anyway.\" Pent had already cleared the table.\n\nAfter a moment of hesitation, the brown furred boy relented. Padding back into the living room, he walked back over towards the television. The onboard TV controls were too high for him to reach. Looking back, he knew that his boyfriend kept the remote on a coffee table at the center of the room. Sure enough, the small black device was there next to Xavier's clothes. It appeared that the other boy had put his stuff there after he had shrunk out of them.\n\nThinking to himself a moment, the chipmunk wondered how long it would be before he would be big enough to wear it again. Standing next to the coffee table once again reminded him that he was small. He felt a little bit bigger, but he wasn't even sure how much he'd grown since taking Pent's supplement last night. Sighing, he decided there was very little he could do about it, especially after his failed attempt to secure more of the stuff in Pent's lab.\n\nXavier grabbed the remote before climbing up on the chair, noticing that even that was a bit easier now, even if not by much. Relaxing into the chair, the rodent turned the television on and began looking for the baseball game. As he surfed through the channels, the boy was feeling a bit off. His body felt warmer than normal, and a strange tingling sensation was making his whole body tingle.\n\nThe warmth in his body began to rise, but not enough to make him uncomfortable. It was almost comforting to him, if not for the annoying buzz ringing through his whole form. A few moments later, the chipmunk let out a soft hiccup. The tingling in his body began to ripple through him much more noticeably. His body began to grow and lengthen as his form filled out in the seat he was sitting in.\n\nThe sensation did not last long. No more than several seconds before dying out. Yet, Xavier knew something had happened to him. Just looking at himself, he could see that his feet almost reached the end of the sofa cushion. There was no doubt he'd just grown, and it was the most noticeable spurt he'd experienced all day. A small smile crept across his face, and he decided not to say anything and see if his boyfriend noticed.\n\nIt wasn't much longer before the fox boy returned. He had taken care of business in the washroom after cleaning things up. Stopping just short of hopping over the sofa so he didn't squish the boy he loved. Instead, he walked over the side of it and stopped as he looked over at Xavier. The chipmunk boy had a small smirk on his face. His small form sat sprawled across the cushion, filling much more space than he had thought previously.\n\n\"Have a bit of a growth spurt, Xae?\" Pent couldn't help but comment on the other boy.\n\nThe chipmunk softly nodded. \"Yeah, I think so. It's nice to see the medicine working as well as it did.\"\n\n\"Yeah, you might have a few before it wears off, but they probably won't be very frequent.\" The fox had studied the chemical and tapered it for precautionary purposes.\n\nPatting the spot next to him, the brown furred boy urged his boyfriend to join him. The fox hopped onto the sofa right to the side of the other boy. Xavier had already landed on the Jays and Yanks game. The first inning had already started, so the game had just begun, and the home team was up to bat. The chipmunk leaned into the other boy, allowing the white furred cub to take him into his arms.\n\nThe game was much more action-packed than the one they watched the previous day. Already within the second half of the first inning, the Jays had scored a home run. Only one runner had gotten in, but the score had gotten both boys out of their seats and excited for more. The Yanks were quick to retaliate with a score of their own in the following inning, netting two more runs. Both boys were begrudging but felt like the Jays could get back into it.\n\nIt was a back-and-forth affair. Both teams ' field defense was able to do very little for the onslaught of runs. Both boys were on the edge of their seats for the duration of the game. Halfway through it, the Yanks had outscored the Jays by two runs, and things weren't quite going the way either of them wanted. Even still, both of them were enjoying themselves. After all, spending time together made the whole experience better, even if their preferred team wasn't winning.\n\nAs the game continued to trend in the same direction, the cubs became bored with it. They had been lazing around for the last few hours. \n\n\"Wanna do something else, foxy?\" Xavier asked as he yawned from boredom.\n\nThe fox looked over at him as he smiled. \"Hmm. We could go outside for a bit if you want?\"\n\n\"That sounds fun, but I'm still pretty small. What are you thinking we could do?\" The chipmunk nuzzled into his boyfriend's thick fur.\n\nThe bigger cub thought about it for a moment. \"We could play hide and seek. That is simple enough.\"\n\n\"Alright, yeah. That sounds fun. It's better than sitting around all day and doing nothing.\" The rodent figured he had a distinct advantage and wanted to take advantage of it.\n\nStanding up, the brown furred boy stretched and yawned. It had been a pretty lazy day, and there was no doubt he was getting antsy. Pent was right behind him, doing much the same as he straightened himself out. The rodent looked up at his boyfriend, realizing he was about eye level with the fox's knee cap now. There was no doubt he was bigger now, even if not by much. A small smile crept across his face as he wondered how long it would be before he was back to normal.\n\n\"Hehe, getting pretty big now, my sweet chipmunk boy.\" The white furred cub said before ruffling his boyfriend's headfur.\n\nThe smaller boy puffed out his chest proudly. \"Yeah…before you know it, I might outgrow you.\"\n\n\"Haha….I didn't give you that much of the stuff, so don't get ahead of yourself.\" Pent was certain he'd given the other cub the correct dosage.\n\nThe chipmunk smiled at him. \"I know. I was just joking.\"\n\nWithout any delay, the chipmunk skittered to the front door. Holding it open for the boy he loved. Both of them headed outdoors, immediately hit by the change in temperature. Pent stopped short on the balcony overlooking the stairs.\n\n\"Wanna hide or seek first, Xae?\" The bigger boy wanted to give the other cub the choice.\n\nXavier smirked at him. \"I wanna hide.\"\n\n\"Alright, I'll count to 60. Go ahead and hide.\" Pent turned around and closed his eyes.\n\nSpeeding away once again, the rodent was already thinking of places he could hide. He knew with his smaller frame that there were certainly more options available to him. He hopped down the stairs, not finding much difficulty in doing it. Feeling much better about himself and is no longer as hopeless as he had previously been. Continuing back behind the complex, he scanned around for anything he could hide inside.\n\nSeveral bushes were scattered around the perimeter between larger trees that provided small amounts of shade to the back yard. The fence closed it in, but there was a gate leading out of it. Xavier figured leaving the area would be unfair and decided that he would stay within. The chipmunk decided that he would use his tree-climbing skills to his advantage. Going to the tree that was the smaller of the two, he began to climb up it. Even in his smaller form, it was easy for him.\n\nXavier climbed until he was near the top, feeling that he was fairly hidden by the thick leaves around him. Keeping quiet, he remained still and kept an eye out through the small slits in between some of the leaves. There was enough space between some of them that he could see out. He folded his legs as he got himself comfortable on the branch, lying back on it so he didn't have to move as much.\n\nSeveral minutes had already passed, and he finally saw the fox boy pop his head in the backyard. The white furred boy was unmistakable through the leaves, and he kept as quiet as possible. Xavier was starting to feel warm again as a light prickling sensation began to pass through him. With each passing second, the feeling became even more prominent. He fidgeted a bit, but not enough to cause the branches around him to budge much.\n\nPent still hadn't left the back yard. Hearing that sudden rustle from the leaves made him wary that perhaps his boyfriend was around. Keeping a keen eye out, he searched for any signs of movement. The chipmunk watched him closely. The warmth in his body had not tapered and had only gotten even stronger. No longer able to fight it, the rodent boy let out another soft hiccup as he tried to cover his maw, but it was much too late.\n\nThat sound was much too sudden for Pent to ignore. He was all too aware of where it came from. His eyes were trained on the spot in the tree where he thought his boyfriend was. Without even knowing it… their eyes met through the thicket of leaves. Xavier's body began to grow once again; his arms and legs lengthened ever so slightly, gaining a bit more mass. That sudden shift in his body weight caused the branch beneath him to buckle.\n\nXavier\n slipped from the tree as his body could no longer be supported by the branch on which he was sitting. His bottom landed squarely on a thick pile of leaves that had collected below the tree. Immediately, the bigger cub went over to comfort the other boy, who he was afraid might be hurt.\n\n\"Are you alright?\" The white furred cub placed his hand on the other cub's shoulder.\n\nThe rodent slowly stood up, rubbing his butt a bit. \"Yeah…I guess I slipped.\"\n\n\"That's not the only thing you did…look..?\" Pent pointed to the other boy.\n\nIt took a second for the chipmunk to realize what his boyfriend was talking about. Looking over at Pent, the chipmunk realized he could see the fox's pants pocket without looking up. It was apparent he had grown again.\n\n\"Neat. I got a bit bigger.\" The brown furred boy brushed himself off a bit.\n\nThe fox cub looked him over briefly. \"You're growing pretty quickly now…quicker than I expected.\"\n\n\"That's a good thing, though, isn't it? I want to be back to normal.\" Xavier looked up at him.\n\nThe bigger boy shrugged. \"I mean, it is, but you've had two growth spurts since lunch. That is more than I hypothesized.\"\n\n\"Oh come on, foxy…it's not that bad. I'm not even that big.\" The chipmunk wasn't alarmed by it at all.\n\nPent scratched his head. \"I know that, but still maybe we should keep a closer eye on it, just in case.\"\n\n\"Stop worrying about nothing, Pent. I just wanna get back to normal. What's the worst that could happen?\" Xavier gave him the best puppy dog eyes he could muster.\n\nAfter a moment of hesitation, the fox cub finally relented. After all, he wasn't one to argue with his boyfriend very often unless the situation called for it. But what he did not know…was the chance encounter that his boyfriend had with the chemical yet again. The very same one he'd used to treat the other boy the previous day. The very same one that he thought had been tapered to a safe amount. All they cared about or wanted was that things were getting back to normal….or so they hoped.",

The seemingly infinite silence that the stars brought with them was disturbed only by the constant chirping of crickets. A few owls kept watch nearby, their ever-vigilant gaze and all too familiar call echoing through the wind. Neither cub would be disturbed by a dream nor by a nightmare. Pent protectively wrapped the other boy within his grasp, keeping him tight against his larger form.<br /><br />Xavier was the first one to take up the following morning. Bright rays of sunlight peered through the windows down onto them, making it seem warmer than it actually was. The rodent&#039;s eyes fluttered before he finally relented and came around. Yawning and stretching, the chipmunk sat upright. Seeing the large boy beneath him reminded him just how small he was. Looking back down at the boy he loved, a soft smile crept across his face as he gazed at Pent still peacefully sleeping. <br /><br />&nbsp;The curve at the center of Pent&#039;s chest was the only part of his midsection that wasn&#039;t completely flat.&nbsp;&nbsp;Sitting on it was a bit awkward, but not enough to cause him any discomfort. Still, nature was calling, and he needed to take care of his needs. Xavier slowly scooted himself to the rounded edge of the fox&#039;s stomach. Sliding off it, he landed square in the side of the bed. It was then once again that he realized it wouldn&#039;t be as simple as he thought it might be.<br /><br />For a moment, he contemplated what to do. Looking back at the fox, he knew that Pent was still sleeping, and he didn&#039;t want to disturb him. After a moment of thinking about it, he decided he would tackle the challenge himself. Gazing down from the bed, he could see that some of the sheets hung over the side of it. It was long enough that the fabric cascaded almost completely over the side and created a drop point that he could use.<br /><br />Xavier grabbed a wrinkled portion of the sheets near the edge of the bed. Pulling on it twice before slowly lowering himself. Keeping his body square against the mattress, he used it as a way to walk backwards. It was far from the professional techniques of mountain climbers, but he had only done something similar a few times in gym class. Slowly, he eased himself downward, using the fabric of the sheets as a makeshift rope as he worked his way down the side of the mattress.<br /><br />The whole process took him several minutes before he was finally low enough to hop to the ground. Taking a deep breath, he puffed out his chest proudly. He was happy that he had managed it without his boyfriend&#039;s help. Looking back up, he huffed. He had tried to push his little issue to the back of his mind, but seeing the size of the bed only made it even more obvious how little he was. A thought occurred to him&hellip;had Pent&#039;s most recent solution done anything? He wasn&#039;t certain.<br /><br />Looking back at the bed before him and then ahead, Xavier considered his choice. There was no question that he needed to take care of business. But his size would likely cause an issue, he told himself. Yet, the cub had always been a bit suttborn. Independence was one of those things he cherished more than anything else. He was determined to do the deed without help, and so he steeled on.<br /><br />Fortunately, the door to the bathroom was open. Padding ahead, the chipmunk made his way into the tile floor of the restroom. Within, things had been cleaned up from the previous night. It looked like Pent had cleaned up after him since Xavier wasn&#039;t exactly in a state to take care of it himself. As he scanned the room, he noticed a waste basket stashed in the corner over by where the toilet was.<br /><br />Xavier walked towards it and looked at it. The container was bigger than he was, but not by much. Looking at it, he could almost see over its head. He wasn&#039;t sure if he had gotten bigger or if the trash bucket was just small. Reaching onto the lip, he gently pulled the thing over. Fortunately, there wasn&#039;t anything inside of it, so he flipped the thing completely over on its side. As it fell, the chipmunk guided it so that it didn&#039;t fall on top of him.<br /><br />Shifting himself so that he could grab the base of it, Xavier popped it back upright. Now that it was standing again, the rodent used his boyish might to pull himself on top of it. It didn&#039;t take as much effort as he expected, and he now faced towards the lid of the toilet. It had been left down, so he could see the slight curves of it. The smooth lid made it a bit more difficult than he anticipated, and each time he tried, his hand slipped. After a few attempts at it, he huffed in a show of frustration.<br /><br />&quot;Need some help?&quot; A familiar voice beckoned from the door.<br /><br />The brown furred boy looked toward the door. &quot;Yeah&hellip;I guess so.&quot;<br /><br />\tSlowly, Pent closed the gap between them. Finding his boyfriend waiting for him outside the door when he returned to the room.<br /><br />&quot;What&#039;cha want for breakfast?&quot; Pent asked with his usual smile.<br /><br />The chipmunk looked up at him, smiling back. &quot; How about some oatmeal?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Simple enough. Do you want some help to get back to the kitchen?&quot; The fox asked, being careful not to sound commanding.<br /><br />The brown furred boy shook his head. &quot;Nah, I&#039;ll be okay.&quot;<br /><br />\tWith that confirmation, the arctic fox padded into the distance. Xavier was somewhat distracted by his own thoughts. When he was standing next to the other boy, he couldn&#039;t help but notice that he could see the mid portion of Pent&#039;s calf.&nbsp;&nbsp; The thought that maybe he was possibly returning to normal was still on the back of his mind, and this gave him a little hope. Still&hellip;he couldn&#039;t be certain and decided not to mention it just yet.<br /><br />\tMaking his short strides down the hall, the chipmunk continued into the kitchen. He could see that the fox was already hard at work. Xavier wanted to help his boyfriend, but decided to let it go since he had already gotten started. Gazing towards the table, he padded over toward it. The chair closest had a seat that was still out of his reach. Hopping a few times, he tried to grab the rim of it but fell short before eventually becoming frustrated.<br /><br />&quot;Here, let me help.&quot; The bigger cub had turned around and noticed his struggle. <br /><br />\tHuffing, the chipmunk relented. Xavier might have been stubborn, but he knew when things were pointless. Pent stepped over near him, right next to him, before leaning down. Stopping for a moment, the fox stared at him for a moment.<br /><br />&quot;Hey, I think you might be a little bit bigger.&quot; Pent said before holding his hand paws out for his boyfriend to get on top of.<br /><br />The chipmunk slowly walked onto the other cub&#039;s hands. &quot; You think so? I noticed it too this morning when I went to the bathroom.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yeah, I think so.&quot; The fox guided him up towards the seat of the chair.<br /><br />The smaller cub hopped off him when he was close enough. &quot;I hope so. I don&#039;t want to be any smaller.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;m sure. It was crazy.&quot; The white furred boy walked away before returning to making breakfast.<br /><br />Xavier looked in front of him, feeling good about the fact that he could see just above the table top. He figured he would still need a booster or something, but it definitely made him feel better about the situation. It wasn&#039;t much longer before the arctic fox served up two bowls of oatmeal along with some freshly cut fruit and glasses of juice. Purposely, he had given his boyfriend smaller servings of each of them, certain his appetite had shifted a bit.<br /><br />&quot;Foxy, can you get me a booster or something?&quot; The chipmunk tried to reach the bowl, but it was a bit too far for him.<br /><br />Nodding, the fox cub went into the living room before returning with one of his larger books. Briefly picking up Xavier before placing him on top of the book. The extra leverage provided the chipmunk what he needed to reach the bowl of oatmeal. Both boys began eating without hesitation.&nbsp;&nbsp; The rodent didn&#039;t bother to pick up the spoon, instead opting to scoop it up with his small hands. Taking smaller bites than his boyfriend but getting through it quickly, all the same.<br /><br />When they finished, the bigger boy got up from the table. Xavier didn&#039;t finish his meal, but he had eaten most of it.<br /><br />&quot;Want some help, Pent?&quot; The rodent asked since he hadn&#039;t had a chance to help in preparing it.<br /><br />The fox boy nodded. &quot;Sure, let me get you up to the counter.&quot;<br /><br />Padding over to the bigger boy, he slowly eased his hands down to offer his boyfriend a step up. Xavier once again mounted the cub&#039;s squishy paw pads before waiting for Pent to bring him over to the counter. Placing him on top, the arctic fox handed him a smaller hand towel before busying himself with washing the dishes. After each one was cleaned, he placed it in front of him. It took Xavier about the same effort as the previous night, but before long, they were finished.<br /><br />&quot;So uh&hellip;what do you wanna do today, given your situation hasn&#039;t improved much?&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; The white furred cub wanted his boyfriend to pick. <br /><br />Xavier hummed a moment before answering. &quot; You know what might be fun? Do you think I could fit in the driver&#039;s seat of your RC car?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Uh, maybe. You want to take a ride in it?&quot; The fox boy cracked a smile as he thought about what that might be like.<br /><br />The rodent nodded. &quot;Yeah, let&#039;s do it before I get too big.&quot;<br /><br />Leveling his hands by the edge of the countertop, Pent offered help to his boyfriend. Looking in his closet for the RC car<br />&nbsp;and remote that went with it, grabbing a change of clothes while he was at it.<br /><br />Pulling it out, the fox cub placed it on the floor before easing his other hand forward. Xavier waited for his boyfriend to take him low enough to hop down. Jumping off neat it, he noticed the plastic frame of the vehicle was a bit smaller than he was. In fact, he could see clearly over the roof of it. It made him smile. Maybe he was still growing? He couldn&#039;t be sure, but he certainly hoped so. The chiping slid himself through the open window into the driver&#039;s seat.<br /><br />Inside the front panel was little more than stickers and a few small lights. The windshield in front of him was made out of plastic and was the only window the thing had in it. Looking behind him, there were no back seats. Instead, he could see the curvature of the plastic and some of the electronics that fed into the motor beneath the chassis of the rac car. The seat itself was also plastic and offered no seat belt, but instead a single buckle, which had been designed for figures.<br /><br />Xavier squeezed himself under it as he didn&#039;t want to shift around in the seat. <br /><br />&quot;Are you ready yet?&quot; He could hear his boyfriend&#039;s voice from outside the car.<br /><br />The rodent shouted back. &quot;Yeah.&quot;<br /><br />A small whir followed as the engine kicked to life. The rodent couldn&#039;t help but chuckle as he was rather enjoying himself.<br /><br />Opening the door, the fox stepped to the side so he could steer the car through it. Bucking and bashing back and forward, the chipmunk&#039;s body vibrated against the constant impact with the stairs. Pent kept close nearby, making sure that the car didn&#039;t get out of control. Settled only by a rubberized thump on the pavement below as the rodent held on the plastic steering wheel for whatever support he could garner.<br /><br />Driving the vehicle around the complex, the bigger boy took it into the grassy glades just behind it. The vehicle slowed a bit but plowed forward through the backyard. Spinning out into a muddy mess as the dirt flicked in through the openings on both sides of the car. Xavier was much too slow in shielding himself, and he held fast. It was getting intense, and his adrenaline was pumping through his body.<br /><br />A few moments later, the white furred cub brought the thing to a stop. The sudden jolt from motion forward left Xavier&#039;s frame pasted against the seat for a mere second. Kneeling, the white furred cub picked up the vehicle and looked within. Pent&#039;s blue eyes peered at the chipmunk, and back at him stared the gleeful gaze of his boyfriend. Looking at him, it appeared he had changed clothes while he was in the car.<br /><br />&quot;That was fun, Pent. Can I get out now?&quot; The chipmunk asked as he figured it was over with.<br /><br />Saying nothing, the bigger boy set him down. Getting out of the plastic buckle was harder than getting in. A slight movement from the chipmunk broke the plastic that was previously holding him in. Slowly, he moved out of the car&#039;s window, finding it even tighter than before. Standing outside of it, the chipmunk found that the top frame of it barely came up to his shoulder. A smile crept across his face as he thought about it.<br /><br />&quot;Hey, Pent. Do I look bigger to you?&quot; The rodent asked as he looked up at the cub kneeling next to him.<br /><br />The white furred boy examined him closely. &quot;It&#039;s hard to tell, but maybe a little.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I hope so. I don&#039;t want to be little forever. Maybe I should take more of the medicine you gave me?&quot; Xavier wondered if maybe more of it would help him along.<br /><br />The bigger cub shook his head. &quot;Probably not until it wears off. We risk having you overdose on it.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Alright, you know more about it than I do.&quot; The chipmunk never questioned his boyfriend&#039;s knowledge, as he was the smarter cub.<br /><br />The arctic fox smiled at him before picking up the RC car. &quot; What do you want to do now? Is there anything else you want to try while you&#039;re small enough?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Hmm, I don&#039;t have any other ideas other than driving the RC car. Can you think of anything that might be fun to try?&quot; <br /><br />Pent thought about it a moment. &quot;Maybe you could try an adventure through the badger hole? I found one nearby if you want.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;It might be pretty dark in there if I go deep enough. I&#039;ll check it out.&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; The rodent liked the idea of an adventure.<br /><br />Kneeling, the white furred boy once again offered a helping paw to the other cub. Xavier took a slow and careful step onto his hand. The fox shifted his hand, noticing the other boy was a bit heavier than earlier. Nothing major, but still a slight difference as the brown furred boy plopped himself between the bigger boy&#039;s paw pads. Making slow but careful steps, Pent headed into the wooded area just beyond the fenced-in compound behind the complex.<br /><br />A small wooden gate led to it that creaked as he opened it. Just beyond it was an undeveloped part of the area. Originally, the community had plans of building a pool, but such designs were abandoned when the project never got enough funding. Instead, what remained there was overgrown brush and shrubs. A small outcropping of trees canopied over the area with several piles of leaves underneath it.<br /><br />Pent made his way to where he thought the badger hole was. Normally, he wouldn&#039;t suggest such things, but he had been keeping track of the badger for some time. Recently, the badger had likely relocated as he hadn&#039;t seen any signs of it. Right over the hole, the fox lowered himself once again and let his boyfriend onto the ground. The rodent looked before him, noticing the hole in front of him, circled by moist clumps of dirt.<br /><br />Easing himself into it, the chipmunk dropped himself into the hole. The entrance of it was slick and muddy, quickly dirtying himself as he slid down to the first curve of it. Xavier looked down at it further before continuing. The light from outside poured through a small part of it, illuminating the root-encrusted wall. A few claw marks could be seen, but none of them looked fresh, and the whole thing smelled of a light musty earthy odor.<br /><br />Looking up briefly, the rodent saw that his boyfriend was still closely watching him. Xavier wasn&#039;t afraid and walked forward carefully. Each step was slick and took careful placement for his paws not to slip from underneath him. Keeping himself pressed up against the wall with his hand, the chipmunk continued forward. <br /><br />&quot;Let me know if you find anything interesting.&quot; The fox boy said from behind him as his voice echoed through the small cavern.<br /><br />Padding forward, the brown furred boy lost his footing and slid several meters further before the slope ended in a plateau. Xavier couldn&#039;t see as much light here, but there was still enough to make out everything around him. In the corner, a pile of leaves, twigs, and dead grass. From what he could gather, the badger had likely nested here. Though he couldn&#039;t be sure since he saw no other signs of it.<br /><br />Just beyond the nest, he could see that the dirt path came to an end. It didn&#039;t seem like the badger had dug very far, and he looked around once more to see anything else interesting. He noticed a few eggshells lying around the area of the nest, likely meals for the beast who previously resided here.&nbsp;&nbsp;Feeling some water dripping down, he looked up and noticed some of the moist ceiling was beginning to crumble.<br /><br />Deciding to head out, the chipmunk began to dig his way out of the hole. Going back up was much more difficult than going down it. He had no claws, so instead he had to dig his fingers into the dirt. Each hold offered him very little headway in getting up. Sometimes his hand would slip, and the dirt would crumble, leaving him to slide down once again. After a few tries of it, the cub decided he needed his boyfriend&#039;s help.<br /><br />&quot;Pent, can you throw me down something to help me get out of here?&#039; Xavier figured his boyfriend probably couldn&#039;t fit his hand down as far as he had gotten.<br /><br />A few meters away, back on the surface, the arctic fox heard a familiar voice from down below. It was drowned out a bit, but he knew who it was. Looking around for something to stick into the hole, he eventually found a fallen twig that seemed thick enough to support the other cub&#039;s still small weight. He shoved it into the hole slowly, causing the branch to flex as it fit through some of the curves of the tunnel.<br /><br />A moment later, the chipmunk saw the edge of the branch poking towards him. Stopping just short of where he was, he was all but certain this was his way out. Grappling himself around it with both of his paws, he held on tight.<br /><br />&quot;I&#039;m ready, foxy.&quot; The chipmunk shouted again.<br /><br />The same voice echoed once again, and the bigger cub retracted the branch. Going just as slowly back out of it so that the thing didn&#039;t snap. It only took a minute or so before the twig was completely withdrawn. Sure enough, at the end of it, he saw the smaller cub holding onto the far edge of it. The brown furred boy was completely caked in mud and dirt.<br /><br />The bigger cub chuckled at him. &quot; You look like you&#039;ve been swimming in a mud bath. Was it interesting?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;There wasn&#039;t much down there besides a nest and roots.&quot; Xavier got off the branch and tried brushing his fur off.<br /><br />The arctic fox smiled lightly. &quot;Well, that still sounds cool. Not everyone gets to explore a badger hole.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;I guess you&#039;re right.&quot; The smaller boy spit out some dirt that had gotten into his mouth. <br /><br />Pent thought about what else they could do. &quot;Wanna wash you up, then we can play a board game or something?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;How would I play a board game like this?&quot; The chipmunk looked up at the other boy.<br /><br />The fox hummed for a moment. &quot;Well, you look like you&#039;re bigger than chess pieces,<br />&nbsp;so maybe we can play that.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Foxy&hellip;you know I am terrible at chess.&quot; The rodent had never liked it despite how many times they&#039;d played it together.<br /><br />The white furred cub offered his hand to his boyfriend to pick him up. &quot; How about checkers then?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Alright, sure. It&#039;s better than nothing.&quot; The smaller boy took a slow step onto the other cub&#039;s hand before sitting down on one of Pent&#039;s paw pads.<br /><br />Pent began walking again, his slow but careful strides jostling the smaller boy each time he moved. He noticed the rodent&#039;s body felt a bit heavier than earlier. Making him think the boy was continuing to get bigger, even if he hadn&#039;t noticed it much. Bringing him back inside, the fox boy brought his boyfriend into the kitchen.&nbsp;&nbsp;Placing him right underneath the spout of the faucet in the sink, he turned it on.<br /><br />Immediately, water crashed down on the smaller cub whose body was drenched in an instant. The stream of it wasn&#039;t strong enough to move him, but he held his paws on the side of the sink just in case. Eventually, the fox slowed the stream so that his boyfriend looked more comfortable. Holding some hand soap out in a bottle, he offered it to the other boy. Xavier waited for him to squeeze it out, then proceeded to clean himself the best he could.<br /><br />Noticing he could see over the counter from within the basin, Xavier wondered if he was still getting bigger. It was hard to notice from his perspective since everything still looked big. Yet, he felt confident that his boyfriend had solved his little problem. Now it was only a matter of time to see if he returned to normal. After he had cleaned up a bit, he waited for Pent to turn off the water.<br /><br />The fox grabbed a dish towel and allowed the small cub to climb from out of the sink basin. His dripping wet body pooled onto the wooden countertop. Offering out the towel, the fox turned on the water while the chipmunk dried himself off. Not exactly clean, Xavier felt better now that his body wasn&#039;t completely caked in mud. Shivering a bit, the other boy cut off a portion of the towel to wrap himself up in.<br />&nbsp;<br />Xavier waited for his boyfriend to pick him up again. He was still wrapped up in the towel, most of which hung off his small body. Holding out his paw again, Pent waited for the other boy to hop on again. Getting onto the fox&#039;s hand paw seemed easier each time he had done it. Even his body covered more of the fox&#039;s hand surface, though it wasn&#039;t by much. The cub couldn&#039;t help but notice his feet hung off the side of Pent&#039;s fingertips.<br /><br />Once again, he started walking, being just as careful as before. Taking him back to the fox&#039;s room, Pent set him slowly back down on the floor once they were inside it. Grabbing the box of checkers from the storage area inside his closet. He set it down on the floor before joining the other cub opposite Xavier. Placing the board on the floor, he began to set each of the pieces on the playing space.<br /><br />The rodent waited for him to finish. Xavier knew he couldn&#039;t do much to help. After all, even if he was bigger, he was still too small to be much of assistance. They started the game before long. Pent was a much more calculated boy, overthinking every one of his moves. It made the game take much longer than with the chipmunk&#039;s other friends. Though the rodent had gotten used to it and didn&#039;t think much about it anymore.<br /><br />The game started quickly with Pent nabbing a few more pieces of Xavier&#039;s board. The fox was very good at planning. Far better than the chipmunk ever had been. Yet even still, the brown furred cub was able to net enough pieces to be in the game. Even managing to get across the board and getting the first piece to be kinged. The fox was able to maintain some control of the board, but his boyfriend was starting to catch up.<br /><br />After a short while, the game ended in the fox&#039;s favor. He won by a few pieces, but it was never something he gloated about.<br /><br />&quot;Nice game, Xae. Want some lunch now?&quot; It was already close to the time in the afternoon when they usually ate again.<br /><br />The brown furred boy nodded his head. &quot;Yeah, I&#039;m really hungry.&quot;<br /><br />Once again, the fox offered his paw as a helping hand to the other cub. Gently, Xavier shook his head, wanting to do it himself. He&#039;d relied on Pent enough and wanted to walk on his own, even if it took longer. Nodding, the bigger cub went on his way, already planning in his mind what he wanted to make for him. Xavier walked by the door where there was a height chart plastered against it.<br /><br />Measuring himself with his own paw, he chuckled. &quot;Cool, I think I&#039;m still growing.&quot;<br /><br />Smirking to himself, he got an idea. What if he helped himself along? He wasn&#039;t sure if Pent had made more of the concoction the previous day. But he figured it was worth a look. The chipmunk strode his way down the hallway to the living room. Looking within the kitchen, he could see that the fox cub was still working on whatever he was making. He knew he didn&#039;t have much time, but he could try.<br /><br />Looking over at the door to where the fox&#039;s makeshift lab was, the door was slightly cracked open. He had recalled Pent closing the door yesterday, but figured the other boy had poked his head in there at some point. Padding over, he placed himself right between the crack that led into it. The space left by the crack was just enough for him to squeeze through. Just beyond the door, he could see the chair tucked in under the desk.<br /><br />He gazed upward to see if there was any way he could get up to the countertop. The chair underneath it seemed like it wasn&#039;t an option since the base of it was plastic and seemed too smooth to gain traction on. Next to the desk was a small trash bin, but it looked too small for him to stand up on and hop on the countertop. On the other side of it, he noticed the coat rack where the fox boy&#039;s lab coat hung.<br /><br />From looking at it, he wondered if the rungs of the rack could support his weight if he tried to climb up the coat. Figuring it was worth a shot, he padded to the other side of the small room. Once underneath it, he tugged twice on the lab coat. His strength didn&#039;t seem to cause the stability of the coat rack to waver at all. Beginning to lift himself, he tried climbing up the fabric of the lab coat.<br /><br />Xavier used the full extent of his boyish might, digging into the grooves where the buttons went. Bit by bit, he was able to make it to where he was able to hop from the lab coat to the table. For a moment, he wondered how long it took him and if his boyfriend was done yet. Figuring it was too late to back out now, he looked at the counter. Recalling from he previous day, he remembered that the concoction was an off-blue color.<br /><br />Right in front of him was a test tube rack. Most of them were empty, but one of them was not. The same one had a light blue substance in it. The finely written label on it read &quot;Maxmus&quot;. He remembered that this was what his boyfriend used to solve his problem. Standing right next to it, he forced the plastic cap off it. Trying to lift it, the thing was heavier than he expected, but he pushed upward all the same.<br /><br />With a bit of effort, he was able to force the thing through the hole that had previously held it up. Just as it fed through the hole, the thing spilled all over the counter. The blue substance poured all over him, leaving him soaked wet. Around him, the liquid began to gelify all around where the rodent was standing. The chipmunk began to panic as he looked around for anything to clean up the mess he&#039;d just made.<br /><br />Just above him was a small dry rag that hung from a hook. Looking up at it, Xavier didn&#039;t think it could reach it, even standing up on something. Turning his gaze downward, the chipmunk looked around on the counter. The fox didn&#039;t seem to keep anything on the table that could be used to dry up the stuff. Yet in the few moments he had been looking around, the gel-like substance had absorbed into the wood.<br /><br />Xavier blinked a few times before looking down at himself. Even his fur showed no signs of being doused in the chemical. He wasn&#039;t sure how it dried so quickly, but before he could think about it, the brown furred boy heard a voice.<br /><br />&quot;Where are you, Xae? Lunch is ready.&quot; Pent&#039;s voice sounded from the kitchen.<br /><br />The chipmunk tried to stay calm. &quot;Coming, foxy. I had to use the bathroom.&quot;<br /><br />Quickly, the chipmunk skittered over to the side of the table. No longer worried about what he&#039;d just spilled, he wanted to get to Pent before he suspected anything. Hopping on the side of the lab coat, he slid down it using a sewn-in hemline. Getting down was much quicker than climbing up he padded his way out of the closet and back toward the kitchen. Taking just a moment to catch his breath before finally entering the kitchen.<br /><br />Xavier looked up at the table in front of him and saw that it looked like his boyfriend had been waiting a bit.<br /><br />&quot;Sorry about that.&quot; He padded over toward the chair closest to where the other cub was already sitting.<br /><br />The white furred boy offered his paw to help the other boy. &quot;It&#039;s okay. Gotta take care of business after all.&quot;<br /><br />Pent placed the other boy on the same book they had used earlier to give him a boost. The chipmunk actually could see way over the table now, almost to the other side of it. In fact, half of his body was now over the edge of the table.<br /><br />&quot;Won&#039;t be needing the book much longer, Xae.&quot; Pent said with a soft smile.<br /><br />The smaller boy nodded. &quot;Yeah, it&#039;s nice to be a little bit bigger.&quot;<br /><br />The two cubs began eating without delay. Tipping the smaller cup in his maw, he finished the small glass in a few gulps.<br /><br />&quot;That was good, foxy.<br />&nbsp;Thanks for making it.&quot;&nbsp;&nbsp; The chipmunk wiped his maw dry of his beverage mustache.<br /><br />The white furred cub swallowed the last bite of his own meal. &quot; No problem. I am glad you liked it.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;You wanna watch the game today?&quot; Xavier had heard on the radio that there was a highly anticipated baseball game that day.<br /><br />Pent shrugged. &quot;Sure, who&#039;s playing?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;The Jays and Yanks&hellip;the time-old rivalry. Supposed to be much more exciting than the one we saw the other day.&quot; The chipmunk hopped off from his makeshift seat.<br /><br />The fox started to clean things up. &quot;Sure, I will finish up here. Go set up the television, and we can relax a bit.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Do you want some help?&quot; The rodent wanted to ask, but he figured he already knew the answer.<br /><br />The bigger boy shook his head. &quot;Nah, I&#039;m alright. Go ahead.&quot;<br /><br />Xavier put his arms at his side. &quot;Come on, foxy, I just wanna help.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;It&#039;s no big deal. The plates were paper anyway.&quot; Pent had already cleared the table.<br /><br />After a moment of hesitation, the brown furred boy relented. Padding back into the living room, he walked back over towards the television. The onboard TV controls were too high for him to reach. Looking back, he knew that his boyfriend kept the remote on a coffee table at the center of the room. Sure enough, the small black device was there next to Xavier&#039;s clothes. It appeared that the other boy had put his stuff there after he had shrunk out of them.<br /><br />Thinking to himself a moment, the chipmunk wondered how long it would be before he would be big enough to wear it again. Standing next to the coffee table once again reminded him that he was small. He felt a little bit bigger, but he wasn&#039;t even sure how much he&#039;d grown since taking Pent&#039;s supplement last night. Sighing, he decided there was very little he could do about it, especially after his failed attempt to secure more of the stuff in Pent&#039;s lab.<br /><br />Xavier grabbed the remote before climbing up on the chair, noticing that even that was a bit easier now, even if not by much. Relaxing into the chair, the rodent turned the television on and began looking for the baseball game. As he surfed through the channels, the boy was feeling a bit off. His body felt warmer than normal, and a strange tingling sensation was making his whole body tingle.<br /><br />The warmth in his body began to rise, but not enough to make him uncomfortable. It was almost comforting to him, if not for the annoying buzz ringing through his whole form. A few moments later, the chipmunk let out a soft hiccup. The tingling in his body began to ripple through him much more noticeably. His body began to grow and lengthen as his form filled out in the seat he was sitting in.<br /><br />The sensation did not last long. No more than several seconds before dying out. Yet, Xavier knew something had happened to him. Just looking at himself, he could see that his feet almost reached the end of the sofa cushion. There was no doubt he&#039;d just grown, and it was the most noticeable spurt he&#039;d experienced all day. A small smile crept across his face, and he decided not to say anything and see if his boyfriend noticed.<br /><br />It wasn&#039;t much longer before the fox boy returned. He had taken care of business in the washroom after cleaning things up. Stopping just short of hopping over the sofa so he didn&#039;t squish the boy he loved. Instead, he walked over the side of it and stopped as he looked over at Xavier. The chipmunk boy had a small smirk on his face. His small form sat sprawled across the cushion, filling much more space than he had thought previously.<br /><br />&quot;Have a bit of a growth spurt, Xae?&quot; Pent couldn&#039;t help but comment on the other boy.<br /><br />The chipmunk softly nodded. &quot;Yeah, I think so. It&#039;s nice to see the medicine working as well as it did.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Yeah, you might have a few before it wears off, but they probably won&#039;t be very frequent.&quot; The fox had studied the chemical and tapered it for precautionary purposes.<br /><br />Patting the spot next to him, the brown furred boy urged his boyfriend to join him. The fox hopped onto the sofa right to the side of the other boy. Xavier had already landed on the Jays and Yanks game. The first inning had already started, so the game had just begun, and the home team was up to bat. The chipmunk leaned into the other boy, allowing the white furred cub to take him into his arms.<br /><br />The game was much more action-packed than the one they watched the previous day. Already within the second half of the first inning, the Jays had scored a home run. Only one runner had gotten in, but the score had gotten both boys out of their seats and excited for more.&nbsp;&nbsp; The Yanks were quick to retaliate with a score of their own in the following inning, netting two more runs. Both boys were begrudging but felt like the Jays could get back into it.<br /><br />It was a back-and-forth affair. Both teams &#039; field defense was able to do very little for the onslaught of runs. Both boys were on the edge of their seats for the duration of the game. Halfway through it, the Yanks had outscored the Jays by two runs, and things weren&#039;t quite going the way either of them wanted. Even still, both of them were enjoying themselves. After all, spending time together made the whole experience better, even if their preferred team wasn&#039;t winning.<br /><br />As the game continued to trend in the same direction, the cubs became bored with it. They had been lazing around for the last few hours. <br /><br />&quot;Wanna do something else, foxy?&quot; Xavier asked as he yawned from boredom.<br /><br />The fox looked over at him as he smiled. &quot;Hmm. We could go outside for a bit if you want?&quot;<br /><br />&quot;That sounds fun, but I&#039;m still pretty small. What are you thinking we could do?&quot; The chipmunk nuzzled into his boyfriend&#039;s thick fur.<br /><br />The bigger cub thought about it for a moment. &quot; We could play hide and seek. That is simple enough.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Alright, yeah. That sounds fun. It&#039;s better than sitting around all day and doing nothing.&quot; The rodent figured he had a distinct advantage and wanted to take advantage of it.<br /><br />Standing up, the brown furred boy stretched and yawned. It had been a pretty lazy day, and there was no doubt he was getting antsy. Pent was right behind him, doing much the same as he straightened himself out. The rodent looked up at his boyfriend, realizing he was about eye level with the fox&#039;s knee cap now. There was no doubt he was bigger now, even if not by much. A small smile crept across his face as he wondered how long it would be before he was back to normal.<br /><br />&quot;Hehe, getting pretty big now, my sweet chipmunk boy.&quot; The white furred cub said before ruffling his boyfriend&#039;s headfur.<br /><br />The smaller boy puffed out his chest proudly. &quot;Yeah&hellip;before you know it, I might outgrow you.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Haha&hellip;.I didn&#039;t give you that much of the stuff, so don&#039;t get ahead of yourself.&quot; Pent was certain he&#039;d given the other cub the correct dosage.<br /><br />The chipmunk smiled at him. &quot;I know. I was just joking.&quot;<br /><br />Without any delay, the chipmunk skittered to the front door. Holding it open for the boy he loved. Both of them headed outdoors, immediately hit by the change in temperature.&nbsp;&nbsp;Pent stopped short on the balcony overlooking the stairs.<br /><br />&quot;Wanna hide or seek first, Xae?&quot; The bigger boy wanted to give the other cub the choice.<br /><br />Xavier smirked at him. &quot;I wanna hide.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Alright, I&#039;ll count to 60. Go ahead and hide.&quot; Pent turned around and closed his eyes.<br /><br />Speeding away once again, the rodent was already thinking of places he could hide. He knew with his smaller frame that there were certainly more options available to him. He hopped down the stairs, not finding much difficulty in doing it. Feeling much better about himself and is no longer as hopeless as he had previously been. Continuing back behind the complex, he scanned around for anything he could hide inside.<br /><br />Several bushes were scattered around the perimeter between larger trees that provided small amounts of shade to the back yard. The fence closed it in, but there was a gate leading out of it. Xavier figured leaving the area would be unfair and decided that he would stay within. The chipmunk decided that he would use his tree-climbing skills to his advantage. Going to the tree that was the smaller of the two, he began to climb up it. Even in his smaller form, it was easy for him.<br /><br />Xavier climbed until he was near the top, feeling that he was fairly hidden by the thick leaves around him. Keeping quiet, he remained still and kept an eye out through the small slits in between some of the leaves. There was enough space between some of them that he could see out. He folded his legs as he got himself comfortable on the branch, lying back on it so he didn&#039;t have to move as much.<br /><br />Several minutes had already passed, and he finally saw the fox boy pop his head in the backyard. The white furred boy was unmistakable through the leaves, and he kept as quiet as possible. Xavier was starting to feel warm again as a light prickling sensation began to pass through him. With each passing second, the feeling became even more prominent. He fidgeted a bit, but not enough to cause the branches around him to budge much.<br /><br />Pent still hadn&#039;t left the back yard. Hearing that sudden rustle from the leaves made him wary that perhaps his boyfriend was around. Keeping a keen eye out, he searched for any signs of movement. The chipmunk watched him closely. The warmth in his body had not tapered and had only gotten even stronger. No longer able to fight it, the rodent boy let out another soft hiccup as he tried to cover his maw, but it was much too late.<br /><br />That sound was much too sudden for Pent to ignore. He was all too aware of where it came from. His eyes were trained on the spot in the tree where he thought his boyfriend was. Without even knowing it&hellip; their eyes met through the thicket of leaves. Xavier&#039;s body began to grow once again; his arms and legs lengthened ever so slightly, gaining a bit more mass. That sudden shift in his body weight caused the branch beneath him to buckle.<br /><br />Xavier<br />&nbsp;slipped from the tree as his body could no longer be supported by the branch on which he was sitting. His bottom landed squarely on a thick pile of leaves that had collected below the tree. Immediately, the bigger cub went over to comfort the other boy, who he was afraid might be hurt.<br /><br />&quot;Are you alright?&quot; The white furred cub placed his hand on the other cub&#039;s shoulder.<br /><br />The rodent slowly stood up, rubbing his butt a bit. &quot;Yeah&hellip;I guess I slipped.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;That&#039;s not the only thing you did&hellip;look..?&quot; Pent pointed to the other boy.<br /><br />It took a second for the chipmunk to realize what his boyfriend was talking about. Looking over at Pent, the chipmunk realized he could see the fox&#039;s pants pocket without looking up. It was apparent he had grown again.<br /><br />&quot;Neat. I got a bit bigger.&quot; The brown furred boy brushed himself off a bit.<br /><br />The fox cub looked him over briefly. &quot;You&#039;re growing pretty quickly now&hellip;quicker than I expected.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;That&#039;s a good thing, though, isn&#039;t it? I want to be back to normal.&quot; Xavier looked up at him.<br /><br />The bigger boy shrugged. &quot;I mean, it is, but you&#039;ve had two growth spurts since lunch. That is more than I hypothesized.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Oh come on, foxy&hellip;it&#039;s not that bad. I&#039;m not even that big.&quot; The chipmunk wasn&#039;t alarmed by it at all.<br /><br />Pent scratched his head. &quot;I know that, but still maybe we should keep a closer eye on it, just in case.&quot;<br /><br />&quot;Stop worrying about nothing, Pent. I just wanna get back to normal. What&#039;s the worst that could happen?&quot; Xavier gave him the best puppy dog eyes he could muster.<br /><br />After a moment of hesitation, the fox cub finally relented. After all, he wasn&#039;t one to argue with his boyfriend very often unless the situation called for it. But what he did not know&hellip;was the chance encounter that his boyfriend had with the chemical yet again. The very same one he&#039;d used to treat the other boy the previous day. The very same one that he thought had been tapered to a safe amount. All they cared about or wanted was that things were getting back to normal&hellip;.or so they hoped.</span>",
