Everything had opened back up and with it, advertisements were all over the place with things to do and places to visit. For a bright and burning relationship like Xavier and Pent's…the possibilities were endless. So long as both boys were willing their relationship would continue to grow and flourish becoming ever stronger and unbreakable.\n\n\tXavier had recently caught a bit of a bug. The chipmunk had been sick for a few days and as such had been barred from seeing his boyfriend. This soured him to no end. He wanted to hang out with Pent but he also didn't want the other boy to get sick. He understood that distance needed to be kept for health reasons but that didn't stop him from wanting the closeness of his special little guy. \n\n\tPent had stopped by a few times, each time for no longer than 10 minutes. The chipmunk's parents had forced him to wear a mask so he didn't get sick. Whenever Pent asked to stay, they declined. Sure it was sweet but whatever the chipmunk boy had caught seemed to be bad enough to warrant him keeping his distance. Still, the fox cub showed up whenever they would allow him to see Xavier.\n\n\tThe chipmunk was starting to feel better. His nose has cleared up and he was no longer dripping snot everywhere. He was still a little congested but it was nowhere near as bad as it had been the past few weeks. He'd been cooped up so long that he was looking forward to going back to school so that he could get out of the house. This was something he hadn't experienced before, at least in recent memory.\n\n\tHe was sitting on his bed and watching the television. He wasn't much for television except when professional Lacrosse was on. This particular day he was watching baseball, more because nothing else was on…at least from what he thought. It was between two of the innings and a commercial soon aired. Usually, he changed the channel when he saw a commercial start but the tv controller wasn't in reach as he'd forgotten it in the bathroom.\n\n\tThe advertisement in question was for a go-kart track and water park nearby called Baxter's. The two attractions were right next to each other. The place appeared to be running a promotion where if you bought one ticket you would get a free day at the adjoining park. The go-kart track appeared to have games…and the water park promised fun and excitement for the entire family. The screen flashed with the price of $50 per ticket. Xavier immediately wanted to and he wanted to invite Pent to go with him.\n\n\tHe picked himself out of bed despite his body aching a bit. Dragging himself into the living room where his parents were watching some game show. He coughed as he entered the room with his mouth covered. His parents stopped him where he was. \n\n\"Stop right there, kiddo. You're still sick and we don't want whatever it is you have.\" His father said waving his finger.\n\nThe chipmunk boy nodded. \"Sorry, I feel a little bit better today I promise.\"\n\n\"Regardless…you're still coughing.\" His mother got up and touched his forehead. \"And….you still have a fever.\"\n\nXavier whined. \"But…I wanna do something….\"\n\n\"You can do whatever you want in your room. You need to get well.\" The mother walked back away from him.\n\nThe chipmunk sighed. \"Fine…but after I get better do you think I can go to Baxters?\"\n\n\"You mean that go-kart track or whatever?\" His father had heard of the place.\n\nThe cub nodded happily. \"Uh-huh.\"\n\n\"I don't see why not once you're well. You haven't gotten in trouble recently and your grades are better.\" His mother smiled at him.\n\nThe rodent's tail twitched behind him. \"Cool. Can I invite Pent too?\"\n\n\"Of course, bucko.\" The father chuckled at him.\n\nXavier left the room leaving the two parents alone. They discussed it for a bit longer.\n\n\"I suppose we have to pay for it?\" The woman asked as was usually the case.\n\nHer husband shook his head. \"I'll buy the tickets it's not a big deal.\"\n\n\"Not gonna make him work for it?\" She asked since this was usually the case.\n\nThe man hummed. \"Nah, It's not like he wants us to go and I don't want him going alone.\"\n\n\"He's completely fallen for that boy. You know that right?\" She wanted to make sure he knew.\n\nThe father looked at her. \"Of course. Does he even hang out with anyone else anymore?\"\n\n\"I don't think so…haha…\" The woman tried laughing it off.\n\nThe husband reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. \"Regardless, he's happy and that's all that matters.\"\n\nIt was several more days before Xavier fully recovered from his sickness. The chipmunk had lost a little bit of weight from not eating as much but it was barely noticeable. Fortunately, his appetite had picked back up and he had gone back to eating the same amount he was before. His father had already bought the tickets and planned to surprise his son with them when the time finally came.\n\nIt was already the end of the week and Xavier's parents had let him stay home one extra day to allow him to fully recover. It was an early release so they figured it wouldn't matter much. His parents had already asked Pent's foster mother if he could stay the night to help the weekend so that Xavier could catch up. It was an issue that she had no problem with as Samaliel was already going to be out of the house as well on a field trip.\n\nSo that afternoon, Xavier's parents picked up the young fox from school. It was the first time he'd ever been alone with either of them in the car. He was a bit nervous as he entered the car with his boyfriend's mother. She noticed that the cub's tail was between his legs as he entered. She hadn't seen him like this since the first time he'd come over some time ago. He made sure to sit in the back seat, giving himself a bit more space from her.\n\n\"Hello, Pent. I hope school was well?\" She tried to make things less awkward for him.\n\nPent murmured. \"Um…\"\n\n\"I don't bite…I'm no different even with Xavier not here…\" The mother started the car so they could get underway.\n\nThe fox looked out of the window not sure of what to say. \"Okay.\"\n\nThe woman decided to not push his comfort zone. She had seen him shut down before and was somewhat familiar with the signs. She began to head towards the chipmunk's home. Eventually Pent snared himself into another book, easily losing track of time. The drive takes only a few minutes. She stopped the car, noticing he was still reading.\n\n\"We're here, cubby.\" She said as she pulled in and opened the door.\n\nPent put his book down and got out of the car. He proceeded to the front door and waited for her to open it up for him. The fox walked slowly inside, expecting to see Xavier but he was nowhere to be seen. \n\n\"Where's Xae?\" He asked her.\n\nShe smiled at him. \"I'm sure he's in his room. He will be excited to see you.\"\n\nThe cub bulleted out of the front room, forgetting all about taking his shoes off. She chuckled at him, deciding to not give him grief about it. A few minor dirt stains were nothing major to clean as she looked at his footsteps. Pent arrived at a closed door and knocked on it. The chipmunk boy wasn't expecting the other cub so he just stayed at his workstation.\n\n\"You can come in.\" He said without much thought. \n\nPent pushed the door open and put his bag on the floor. \"How are you feeling?\"\n\nXavier heard the voice and immediately knew who it was. Getting up from his workstation and walking over to hug Pent rather passionately.\n\n\"Hi, Pent….I missed you so much…I'm feeling better now. Thanks.\" The brown-furred cub hugged his boyfriend tightly.\n\nThe arctic fox's tail wagged behind him softly. \"I missed you too, Xae. I'm glad you feel better.\"\n\nThe two hugged for a few seconds before Xavier gave Pent a peck on the cheek causing his boyfriend to blush.\n\n\"You're mom told my foster mom you wanted help to catch up?\" The fox figured they'd get to work right away.\n\nBefore the rodent was about to answer there was another knock on the door.\n\n\"I couldn't help but overhear your conversation…but I think I have something else you two would like better.\" She held out the two Baxter's tickets in her hand.\n\nXavier padded over to her and looked at her hand. \"Tickets to Baxters? But what about homework?\"\n\n\"I think your homework can wait for a little. I already asked if he could stay the weekend and his foster mother said yes.\" She handed over the tickets to him.\n\nThe boy hugged his mother. \"Cool, thanks, Mom. I promise I will finish my homework tonight.\"\n\n\"Go get dressed. You've been stuck in your room long enough. We'll leave in 20 minutes.\" She left the room allowing the two cub's privacy to get changed.\n\nPent looked at his boyfriend curiously. \"What's Baxters?\"\n\n\"It's a go-cart track…with an arcade and a water park attached to it. Looks like the ticket says we get to do the track today and the water park tomorrow. Sound fun?\" Xavier headed over to his dresser drawer to get a change of clothes.\n\nThe fox smiled. \"Heck yeah, that sounds cool.\"\n\n The chipmunk started to get undressed right in front of Pent, taking his shirt off without much thought of doing it in front of his boyfriend. The fox stared at him for a second. The moment his shirt hit the floor Pent's mouth opened a bit as if surprised. \n\n\"Aren't you going to get changed? I mean…do we need to go in the bathroom?\" The chipmunk noticed his boyfriend's stare and blushed.\n\nPent murmured a bit. \"I…guess….not…\"\n\nThe white fox turned around and grabbed the stuff he'd brought with him in his bag. He'd brought a change of clothes but no bathing suit for tomorrow. Grabbing the set of clothing he began to take his shirt off. Turning back around he saw the other boy in nothing but his boxers. His lithe but athletic and furry body was right in front of him. Pent stared again at the other cub. \n\n\"Like what you see, Pent?\" The brown-furred boy flexed a bit as if teasing his boyfriend.\n\nThe bigger boy nodded.\n \"Uh-huh…\"\n\n\"Let's get ready.\" Xavier reminded his boyfriend as he started to slip on a shirt to make it easier on the other boy.\n\nPent finally started to get undressed. Xavier watched him with interest as he stripped down from his shirt to his underwear. Taking a similar interest in the other boy's body. The fox got into his clothes before long, putting his school stuff back in his bag. Xavier grabbed a pair of socks before heading out into the hallway with his boyfriend in hot pursuit. The two of them waited there a few moments for the chipmunk's mother.\n\nXavier proceeded to sit down and put his shoes and socks on. Pent looked outside to see what the weather looked like. It appeared to be a nice day with just a few clouds in the sky. It wasn't much longer before the woman reappeared with the two tickets in her hand as Xavier had forgotten them in his room. She shook her head at him but said nothing to her. \n\n\"Come on boys, let's head out.\" She said as she opened the door for them.\n\nThe two boys held each other's hands as they walked out the door together. The chipmunk's mother smiled at them. The fox's tail wagging gently behind him as he seemed to be happy as a clam. She closed and locked the door behind them and made her way to the car. She opened the door for them and got inside herself. As usual, the two boys sat in the back right next to each other. She had grown used to Xavier not sitting in the front seat anymore whenever his friend was around.\n\nBoth of the cubs buckled up and got settled in. She checked them just to be sure and they were soon on their way to the go-cart track. \n\n\"Have you ever driven go-karts before, Pent?\" Xavier asked as he was a bit curious.\n\nThe white fox shook his head. \"Nah.\"\n\n\"It's fun. I can show you how. We can ride in the same cart if you want.\" The chipmunk had done it a few times in the past with other friends.\n\nPent smiled and nodded. \"That would be cool. I would like that.\"\n\n'Cool, I promise it will be fun.\" The brown-furred boy leaned in and kissed his boyfriend on the cheek.\n\nThe bigger boy blushed at him. The two continued chatting about nothing specific until the car pulled into the parking lot of Baxter's. The place had two distinct sections, both of which they could see from where they were in the car. On the right side of the vehicle was the water park, where they could make out a few slides and a manmade waterfall. On the other was the go-cart track and the building in front of it.\n\nThe chipmunk's mother pulled out in front of the building and opened the doors for them to get out.\n\n\"Alright boys. It's a little after 1 now…This place closes at 6 so I will be here around 530 to pick you two up. Sound good?\" She looked back at them to make sure they understood the plan.\n\nXavier nodded. \"Okay, mom. Thanks.\"\n\nShe smiled at them and gave the tickets to her son. Once they were out of the car, she was on her way. The two boys stood next to each other, still hand and hand with one another. The chipmunk took hold of the tickets and headed for the entrance. They could hear the sounds of go-kart engines and the screeching of tires in the near distance. Xavier and Pent made their way up to the entrance of the building.\n\nA small line filtered to the inside of the place with one person checking and clipping tickets. Both cubs proceeded to wait in line until they were seen. Each of them goes through a turnstile before meeting up again on the other side. The person manning the stall told them to enjoy themselves before continuing with the next patron. Xavier led Pent to the inside of the building where they took in the sites of the place.\n\nThe arcade stood in front of them. Several rows of machines with no particular order or organization to them were all around them. Several cubs could be seen running around the place with their parents or guardians nowhere to be found. A few older teens were hanging about, draping themselves over whatever game interested them. Even a few college students were about hanging out in the pizza parlor with little care for anyone else.\n\nXavier tugged on Pent and led him through the complex. There were signs indicating where the race track was, so it was obvious where they needed to go. As they got closer to it they could hear the sound getting ever louder. The lights of the place flashed and flickered as they passed various machines that were trying to gain their attention. Yet neither of them was interested enough in the games to pay attention to it.\n\nThey made their way back to the rear of the building where some automatic sliding doors opened up as they approached. Some older furs stared at the two cubs holding hands but said nothing about it. They soon arrived outside where a small ramp led to the loading docks of the race track. In front of them was the go-kart parking area where several rows of vehicles lay in wait for whoever was about to take them out on the track.\n\nXavier's excitement began to pique as he tugged on Pent a little quicker. The two walked as fast as they could down the ramp until they were stopped at the fenced-in area. A large cheetah held their paw out as they waited for the current patron to get in the car and be on their way. It wasn't a very long wait before she turned around and looked down. She thought about measuring them but they seemed big enough to ride by themselves.\n\n\"Single or Double?\" She asked while chewing some bubble gum.\n\nXavier smiled warmly at her. \"Double, please.\"\n\nShe pointed toward the larger carts in the back of the rows of vehicles. The chipmunk tugged on his boyfriend again. Pent was more than happy to go along with the motions. The smaller boy looked at the car in front of them. It was a two-seater with a single wheel in front. \n\n\"Do you want to sit in front or back?\" The brown-furred boy asked him.\n\nPent shrugged. \"Whichever is fine with me.\"\n\n\"Okay…I wanna show you how to drive it. You can sit in the back this time and we can swap after.\" The chipmunk slid himself down into the front seat.\n \nThe arctic fox boy didn't take long to join him in the rear of the little go-cart. Each boy was strapped in with seat belts inside of it. The cheetah gave them the green flag as Xavier put the pedal to the metal. The vehicle sped off past the starting line, wind blowing past them as they made their way down the first turn. Their bodies swayed in the same motion as the turn as the cart forced their bodies one way or the other.\n\nPent took hold of the little bar in front of him. There wasn't much suspension in the go-kart track so each time it hit a bump or hole in the road, the cart bobbled a bit. Xavier was able to handle the little car masterfully. Able to cleave back and forth between the twists and turns of the course. Even tried the little obstacle course and was able to make it through without hitting but a single cone.\n\nSoon the chipmunk took them over a ramp. The cart not going very far off the ground but lifted for several seconds. Their bodies jolted forward and then back as the car recoiled upon hitting the ground again with a loud thud. The track continued down straight away, allowing Xavier to go top speed as they rushed down the track. Finally coming to the end of the track where the chipmunk was forced to slow down a bit when taking the vehicle back through the loading area.\n\nAnother member of the pit crew came to check on them once the smaller cub parked the vehicle. Both cubs had smiles on their faces. It seemed they had enjoyed themselves. They unbuckled themselves and got out. Both of them chuckle about the more exciting moments in the track.\n\n\"You are a really good driver, Xae…haha..\" Pent couldn't believe how his boyfriend had handled the cart so well.\n\nXavier smiled at his boyfriend. \"Thanks, Pent. Did you want to try driving now? It's not that hard.\"\n\n\"I don't mind trying. It didn't seem that difficult at least from watching you do it.\" The fox shrugged as he wasn't averse to trying new things that seemed fun.\n\nThe chipmunk nodded. \"Yeah, it's not difficult. I promise. We can ride together again just in case you need help.\"\n\nThey proceeded back around to the front of the race track and waited in line again. It wasn't a long wait since there weren't many people there. Pent was thinking to himself the entire time about crashing or something of the sort. Soon it was the two cubs turn again and the cheetah passed them through the gate. Pent was a little bit nervous and his tail was between his legs. His boyfriend noticed and took his hand, leading him forward.\n\n\"Come on, Pent. I know you're nervous. I promise it will be fine. I don't care if you crash or whatever.\" Xavier eased him over and got in the back seat.\n\nThe fox wasn't far behind him and got into the seat, putting his hands on the wheel. The two buckled in again The fox took a deep breath once the flag was waved. Taking the vehicle slowly but surely around the track. He went nowhere near as fast as his boyfriend did. The other cub leaned forward and whispered into his ear.\n\n\"Try going faster, Pent…it's more exciting.\" The chipmunk eased back into his chair.\n\nPent pushed his foot forward a bit, the thing picking up speed. The wind rushed past them again as they made their way down the track. Gradually Pent became more and more comfortable as he put more and more weight on the pedal. Finally pushing it near about halfway through the track but hitting one of the barricades. Both boys chuckle at Pent's accident but neither seems bothered by it.\n\nThe fox backed up and got back on track, going just as fast as he had been. He had a huge smile on his face and was rather enjoying himself. Xavier was just as happy to see his boyfriend get comfortable. The bigger boy skipped the ramp since he wasn't quite brave enough to jump just yet. Pulling into the unloading area, he parked. Both boys got out of the car at the same time, still laughing about\n what happened.\n\nXavier thought to himself, coming up with a way to make it more interesting so they could go again.\n\n\"Do you want to race now?\" He asked the bigger cub with a smile on his face as they walked back around to the front.\n\nThe white cub hummed. \"Yeah, we can race if you want.\"\n\n\"You don't want to?\" The brown-furred boy wanted to make sure his boyfriend had fun.\n\nPent shrugged. \"I mean…I've only done this won. I'm sure you'll win.\"\n\n\"It'll be fun.\" Xavier decided he would let the other cub win just to get his spirits up about his ability.\n\nThe fox smiled. \"Okay.\"\n\nThey proceeded back around to the front and waited through the line again. This time picking to go in single carts. Xavier asked the cheetah if they could go at the same time. She had no problem with it since they had been together every time she had seen them. Both cubs picked a cart and each of them buckled in again. Pent was a little bit nervous but told himself it was all in good fun.\n\nThe flag was raised and the two cubs sped out of the starting line. Pent was nowhere near as slow this time out of the gate. He was competitive, just like the other cub was even if he was unsure of his skill. Xavier maintained a tight lead as they sped through the first few corridors of the track. Pent was putting the pedal to the metal but the other cubs tighter turns kept Xavier in the front of their little race.\n\nIt was about halfway through the track and the chipmunk peered back a bit to see where Pent was. He knew he needed to make it look believable. Starting to intentionally make deeper and deeper turns. Each time he did so, the fox caught up just a little bit more. As they were nearing the last turn of the track, Xavier let up on the gas a bit and the other cub sped in front. Pent soared through the finish line.\n\nXavier trailed in a few seconds later. It was a tight finish even if the chipmunk had let his boyfriend win. The fox got out of his car with a huge smile on his face. The cub's tail wagging behind him s. Xavier followed behind him and patted him on the back.\n\n\"Nice race, Pent.\" The chipmunk congratulated his friend.\n\nPent smiled widely. \"I can't believe I won…haha…\"\n\n\"See…I told you it would be fun. Do you want to go again?\" Xavier was glad that Pent's confidence seemed to have improved a bit.\n\nThe bigger boy nodded. \"Heck yeah.\"\n\n\"That a boy…want to make it interesting?\" The brown-furred cub smirked a bit at his question.\n\nThe arctic fox's ears perked up a bit. \"What do you mean?\"\n\n\"The loser has to do whatever the winner says.\" The chipmunk crossed his arms confidently.\n\nPent playfully shoved Xavier. \"You're on.\"\n\nXavier smirked and the two sped back around to the front of the entrance to the track. The line had died down a bit so it was a tad quicker to get through it. Both cubs proceeded to different carts when it was their turn again. Pent gritted his teeth, wanting nothing more than to win this race. The brown-furred boy was just as determined to show the bigger cub who was the top cub on the track.\n\nThe green flag was waved before long and both cubs sped out of the starting area. Pent's turns had gotten a bit better but they were nowhere near as clean as Xavier's. With each turn, the chipmunk got further and further ahead. Putting more pressure on his pedal, the fox hoped his little cart would go faster. Yet the thing was at its top speed. By the mid part of the track, Pent could see the rear part of Xavier's car.\n\nThe race continued in much the same way. Pent maintained hope that he could catch up. But by the end of it, it was not to be. The fox finished a few moments after the smaller boy did. Still, he had a big smile on his face. He wasn't a spoiled sport and wasn't about to be sour about it. Xavier was already waiting for him when he pulled into the unloading area. The chipmunk helped his boyfriend out of the cart.\n\n\"Nice race, Pent.\" He said with a grin on his face.\n\nPent smiled back. \"Yeah…you're fast though.\"\n\n\"You'll get better…Do you want to go again?\" \n\nThe white fox hummed. \"Sure. What did you want me to do anyhow?\"\n\n\"We can figure that out later. Let's just go have fun for now.\" Xavier put his arm around the other boy and walked back with him to the entrance of the track. \n\nThe two proceeded to ride the carts and continued to ride in the go-carts together. Despite doing the same thing for what seemed like the entire day, they continued to enjoy themselves. Having fun competing against each other and just enjoying each other's company. Xavier continued to let Pent win every once in a while but the chipmunk remained the victor on more occasions than he lost.\n\nBefore they knew it, Xavier's phone buzzed in his pocket. It was already 530 and his mother had returned to pick them up. Both cubs groaned when walked up front. They had been having so much fun that they had lost track of time. Both of them locked hands again and walked back to the front of the complex. Many of the other furs had left by this point of the day so they were able to make it through pretty quickly.\n\nXavier and Pent proceeded to the chipmunk's mother's car. She was a little annoyed they were late. But the moment she saw the little smiles on their faces, her heart instantly melted and she didn't care nearly as much. They filed into the back seat and continued giggling, going on about their day at the go-cart track. Nothing else in the world seemed to matter to them as they rambled about their day together.\n\nThe chipmunk boy's mother took them back to Xavier's home. The two's chatter hadn't died down much. Their constant conversation seemed more like giddy lovebirds than anything else. They proceeded inside after the door was unlocked with both cubs taking their shoes off at the door.\n\n\"Go start your homework, Xae. Dinner will be ready soon.\" She reminded him of his responsibilities.\n\nHe nodded to her and led Pent back to his room. His stuff was still on the office desk from earlier, along with the two rings that his mother had given him the other day. The chipmunk palmed them and didn't bother to sit down. He turned around and looked into Pent's eyes and smiled at him.\n\n\"Pent…do you remember those necklaces we used to have?\" The brown-furred cub said sheepishly.\n\nThe fox frowned. \"Yeah…what about them?\n\n\"Well…my parents passed these rings down to me…and I was wondering if maybe you'd like to have one?\" Xavier held his palm out for the fox to look at.\n\nPent looked at them, the black and bronze rings sitting in between the pads of Xavier's hand. \"They are nice. They were your parents?\"\n\n\"Yeah, they don't wear them anymore since they have wedding rings now.\" Xavier smiled at his boyfriend.\n\nThe bigger boy took one of the rings and put it on his finger, the thing being a bit loose on him. \"Cool, I would love to wear one if you're going to.\"\n\n\"Sweet. I know it's not the same but at least we can share this along with the friendship bracelets I made.\" The chipmunk put the other ring on, experiencing the same issue the other boy did.\n\nPent hugged his boyfriend for a quick few moments before they were called to dinner. The two cubs walked back to the kitchen where the chipmunk's parents were already sitting down. The fox and chipmunk sat together with wide smiles on their faces as they looked at the meal.\n\n\"Thanks, Mom and Dad. Dinner looks good.\" Xavier wanted to be appreciative of his parents.\n\nThey nodded at him and began eating. The two parents had a long day with his father having a relatively bad day at work. Still, seeing his son with a bright and wide smile on his face brought him some level of joy. He tried to forget about his problems, noticing the two cubs had put the rings on their fingers.\n\n\"Ah, did you decide to give the promise ring to Pent, Xae?\" The man said between bites.\n\nHis son nodded. \"Uh-huh.\"\n\n\"You know you have to make a promise right? That's how they work. Something you both agree to break.\" He swallowed another bite of food.\n\nXavier seemed confused. \"Huh? What do you mean?\"\n\n\"When your mother and I gave these to each other….we promised to always be loyal to one another no matter what. You and Pent need to come up with something like that.\" The father explained as simply as possible.\n\nThe chipmunk hummed. \"What do you think, Pent?\"\n\n\"I dunno. That sounds important…we should think about it.\" The fox didn't want to jump anything silly they couldn't hold to.\n\nThe chipmunk's parents gave them a thumbs up and the extended family continued to work through the meal. Afterward, the parents gave the two boys a small bag of cookies to enjoy. Xavier broke in half each one of them before giving one to Pent. The two chomped on them together and enjoyed the sweet treat. Pent noticed the other cub had a crumb on the bottom portion of his mouth, so he reached over and wiped it off for his boyfriend.\n\nOnce they were done, they excused themselves and got up from the table. His parents had already started the dishes as they didn't have any dessert themselves. It had become standard practice to give Xavier the night off from chores whenever Pent was over. He was always diligent whenever he wasn't around so it didn't bother them that much. The two cubs made their way out of the kitchen and back through the hall to Xavier's room.\n\nThe chipmunk had been thinking about what they could promise each other. He wanted it to be meaningful and something they both wanted. He had already come up with a few ideas. The fox was already back at the desk and was waiting for him. Xavier padded over and tapped his boyfriend on the shoulder. \n\n\"I have an idea for a promise, Pent…Do you want to hear it?\" Xavier smiled widely.\n\nPent nodded. \"Yeah, of course.\"\n\n\"We can promise to love each other no matter what happens….\" The chipmunk said with a chirp in his voice.\n\nThe fox leaned in and hugged his boyfriend. \"Absolutely, Xae. I wouldn't have it any other way.'\"\n\nThe two\n pulled apart after and began to work on Xavier's homework together. The fox was more than happy to help his boyfriend catch up. They were able to make rather quick progress through it all. The chipmunk was beginning to enjoy study time more and more with his boyfriend around. The two worked through the night until the chipmunk's father reminded them it was time for bed.\n\nEach of them grabbed their change of clothes and went separately to wash themselves. Neither of them had thought about the prospect of bathing together just yet. Pent went first and his boyfriend shortly after. When Xavier returned he found his boyfriend digging his nose into another book he brought, sitting on the floor.\n\n\"You know you can sit on my bed right?\" He chuckled at the boy standing mere centimeters from him.\n\nPent shrugged. \"Yeah, but I guess I'm just used to being down here.\n\n\"Come on, silly. I will read with you on my bed.\" Xavier grabbed one of his books, not caring which one it was.\n\nPent got up and climbed up on his boyfriend's bed, placing his back against the wall. The chipmunk soon joined him in bed with a small graphic novel of his own. The two sat shoulder to shoulder again as each of them started to read. Xavier leaned his body against the other cub, enjoying his body warmth against his own. He tried to force himself to read but it just wasn't getting anywhere for him.\n\nAfter about an hour of pretending to read, Xavier began to doze off. His body leans more heavily against Pent with each passing moment. The fox noticed him dozing and eased him back against his bed. Tucking him under his sheets and kissing him on the forehead. Pent placed his book on the floor and joined his boyfriend in the bed. Sliding under the same sheets and placing his arm around Xavier. His heart was content and his mind happy. Allowing himself to fall to sleep next to the boy he loved.\n\nThe next day they were waken up by a knock on the door. It was time to get up to head to the water park. Xavier awoke first, somewhat surprised to find Pent wrapped around him. His movement roused the other cub who gently smiled at him before yawning and stretching.\n\n\"Morning, Pent. I think it's time to get ready to hit the water park. Wanna get ready?\" Xavier stroked the side of Pent's arm.\n\nPent slowly sat up and nodded. \"Yeah. I haven't been to a water park in a while.\"\n\n\"Cool, me either. It will be fun. Let's get changed into our swim trunks and stuff.\" The chipmunk eased his friend off the bed so he could get off as well.\n\nThey both stood up and went to gather their things. Pent collected it from his bag which had been placed in the room and his boyfriend from his dresser drawers. The fox kit was the first one out of the room and into the bathroom. Relieving himself before stripping down and changing into nothing but a swimsuit. He carried his shirt with him so he could put some sun tan lotion on later.\n\nThe fox headed out and let Xavier know it was his turn. The chipmunk smirked at his friend's shirtless body and ran his finger along the fox's chest. Pent simply smiled at him, enjoying the slight teasy action. The brown-furred cub didn't waste much time in the bathroom, getting changed as quickly as he could. Leaving himself in the same state of undress as his friend had.\n\nWhen he returned to his room he found Pent on the bed lathering himself up with sun tan lotion. The fox looked at his friend, admiring his form once again. The familiar sight of his shirtless body made him blush. \n\n\"Want to put it on me, Pent?\" The chipmunk said with a devilish grin on his face.\n\nThe fox softly nodded as he dabbed a few drops of the stuff onto his paw. Xavier moved closer so that his boyfriend could reach him. Pent hesitated a moment before finally reaching out and beginning to apply the lotion over the chipmunk's back, massaging it in between his blades and along the curve of his back. Soon turning his attention to the cub's front, rubbing it all over his chest and midriff spending a bit more time there than his back.\n\n\"That's nice….thanks…but don't forget my legs.\" Xavier lifted one of his feet on the bed right next to where Pent was sitting.\n\nPent stared at it. The fox's interest in the boy's paws sparked again. Looking at it. The black paw pads underneath, his thin toes, and furry sole. He couldn't help but just…look for a few seconds. It didn't take long for his boyfriend to notice. The chipmunk wiggled his toes a bit. The fox's focus remains unaltered.\n\n\"Pent….do you want to touch it?\" The brown-furred boy remembered Pent's admission from the other day.\n\nThe fox snapped himself out of it finally. \"Erm…sorry…\"\n\nYet the fox ignored the question, still seeming bothered by his interest in it. The fox continued to lather up his friend's legs, turning his gaze away every time he even caught a remote glimpse of the cub's feet again. Fortunately for him, the chipmunk removed his paws once he was done. Xavier had noticed his odd behavior and began to think of a way to fix the issue.\n\n\"Let's go get some breakfast and head out.\" He suggested after putting his shirt back on.\n\nPent finished lathering himself up. \"Sounds good.\"\n\nThe two went into the kitchen where breakfast had already been made. Today's meal was fruit and some toasted biscuits with jam. Xavier and Pent found that the chipmunk's parents didn't appear to be home. The chipmunk assumed they might be out getting something. He decided to text them just in case. They proceeded to eat through the food while he waited for a response from either of them.\n\nXavier's phone buzzed and he read the text from his father. The man told him he'd be back soon to pick him up and be ready outside in 15 minutes. This gave the two boys very little time to finish getting ready. The chipmunk informed his boyfriend and the two began to rush in an attempt to meet the deadline. Each of the grabbed some sandals, a towel, and a water bottle for each of them.\n\nWhen they felt like they were ready, they put on their sandals and headed outside. Today was a hot today and they could feel the heat the second they stepped outside. Pent especially disliked the heat and hoped the water would be cool today. They sat on the porch and waited for Xavier's father to arrive. He was about 10 minutes late but when he did, both of them wasted no time in getting inside the car.\n\nThe man was in a rush. He had a meeting that morning and had asked for a bit of time to take his son to the waterpark. An issue that his boss took from his paid leave. This made the man annoyed but he wasn't going to take it out on the two cubs in the back seat. He began to car and started down the highway back towards Baxter's. Going as fast as the speed limit would allow him to make as good of time as possible.\n\nIt didn't take them very long at all to arrive back at Baxter's. The father was in a rush and didn't talk at all as he was stressed. He dropped the cubs off and informed them that they would be picked up at the same time as yesterday afternoon. This meant they had all day to enjoy the water park. He handed Xavier the tickets before they got out of the car. The cubs thanked the man before he went on his way.\n\nPent and Xavier proceeded to the other side of Baxter's where the water park entrance was. It was much busier than yesterday since it wasn't a school day. The fox and chipmunk held hands as they walked together through the line. They made their way through and the ticket was taken as they were guided through the entrance. Nearby the entrance one of the furs taking pictures invited them over.\n\nXavier pulled Pent over to where the photographer was. The older walrus looked at them as they approached. \n\n\"Are pictures included with the entry fee?\" He asked as he hadn't brought any money.\n\nHe shook her head and the chipmunk groaned in response. \"Alright, come on Pent. Let's go have fun.\"\n\nThe man noticed they were holding hands and stopped them before they left. \"Hang tight…are you two a couple?\"\n\n\"Yeah, why?\" Xavier looked back at the hefty walrus.\n\nHe beckoned them back over. \"I don't mind helping you guys out. Just don't tell anyone what I did.\"\n\n\"Cool, thanks.\" The chipmunk took his boyfriend back under the tree where the photographer was standing.\n\nThe walrus pointed the camera at them. \"Okay, say cheese boys.\"\n\nBoth of the boys called out \"cheese….\" as the picture was taken. The man took a look at the photograph and assigned it a number.\n\n\"You two are number 21. You can collect your photo before you leave at the end of the day. Enjoy yourselves.\" He showed them the photo.\n\nThe man had transposed an image of a heart behind the two cubs. Xavier and Pent looked at it and smiled. Both of them thanked him for his kind attitude. Little did they realize he was gay and had a soft spot for other gay couples in the park. Xavier and Pent continued past the entrance of the park until they reached the area with the lockers. Each cub took their shirt off and pulled off their sandals before putting them in the same locker. The locker showed him the combo before they were on the way.\n\nPent and Xavier made their way past the locker rooms and into the main portion of the water park. In front of them sat the wave pool area where a lot of furs were wading around the water, some of them floating around within. A few slides of various heights could be seen in the background. The chipmunk took his boyfriend's hand again and took the lead around the wave pool, going right past it. The pavement was warm on his feet but he tried to ignore it.\n\nSoon they arrived at a set of stairs. They began to climb it one step at the other. Pent lagging behind a bit by a few stairs but keeping up all the same. They climbed until they reached a split in the path with a sign indicating the slides up that particular route. Each of the signs had a description and intensity level underneath it. \n\n\"Which one do you want\n to do, Pent?\" He asked his friend as he wasn't sure if Pent was afraid of heights or anything like that.\n\nPent looked at the sign and read it. \"How about that one?\"\n\nHe pointed at the group slide that seemed to be for families. Xavier nodded as they headed up the path where the family slide was. They soon approached a line where they waited for a short while. The line moved through rather quickly as the ride had a larger capacity of passengers for the tube than most things in the park. When it came to the fox and chipmunks' turn they were ushered into a tube with another family.\n\nPent and Xavier sat together with the family opposite them. The big raft was sent off without much of a delay. The thing spiraled around in circles as it cascaded down the halfway-open pipe. It twisted and turned each way, with every turn sending the tube up toward one end of the pipe or the other. Both cubs smiled and chuckled the entire time as the tube they were in carried them down the length of the slide.\n\nThe slide soon fed them through a darker area which had water spilled over the sides of the wall. Every time the tube was tossed, the water splashed inside soaking the passengers. The two boys soon find themselves getting wet mere minutes after getting on the first ride. Moments later they were sent through a small waterfall with each of the cubs guarding themselves to no avail.\n\nWhen the ride came to a crashing halt, both cubs got out of the ride soaking wet. Water dripping from their fur and wiping their faces. Pent and Xavier both had huge smiles on their faces as the fox hugged his boyfriend in front of the other family. The short embrace broke up after a few minutes as a nearby lifeguard ushered them off. They soon began walking away again, eager for the next ride.\n\nThey went back to the same area where they entered the family ride. Going back up the same stairs to the same sign where they had chosen again. \n\n\"You can pick this time if you want, Xae.\" The fox wanted his boyfriend to pick this time.\n\nXavier looked at the sign and reviewed the options. There was another group slide, this time designed for two. He pointed at it and tugged Pent to get the bigger boy to follow him. They continued up another series of stairs that led up the left side of the manmade hill. It curled around the corner and led to yet another line they had to wait in. This time the line took longer since there were fewer people per ride.\n\nIt took them a while before they finally got their turn. They climbed steadily higher on the flight of stairs until they reached the top. They were called to the front of it. A small conveyer belt brought up sleds that were picked up by each of the groups. Xavier picked one up and set it down at the top of the slide. He sat down on the front of it, taking the rope in his hands. Pent took a seat behind him, holding onto the side of Xavier instead of the rope.\n\nThey were pushed off as the makeshift sled got underway. The sled skated down the slide as it sputtered water as they sped down it. The sled made abrupt and rough movements in each direction that it turned. The breeze and water brushed across their faces as they raced forward. The sled continued to pan back and forth until it hit a downslope. The thing sped up even faster as it fed them down the ramp before throwing them off and ejecting them into a pool below.\n\nBoth boys swam out of the pool. It was a more thrilling ride than the first one and the adrenaline flowed through their young bodies. The fox's tail was wagging behind him as he flicked off some of the water off his body. He waited for Xavier to join him before the two boys again began heading to another area of the park, the one that appeared to have the biggest slide in the park at least from where they could see.\n\nThe walk from where they were to the \"extreme\" area of the park was a small one. There were a lot fewer furs around since it wasn't as family-friendly of an area. A sign at the bottom of the stairs indicated where they were. A warning was posted for what they were getting themselves into. The usual dictation about motion sickness and people were prior conditions. However, this minor warning wasn't enough to scare either of them.\n\nThey began to make the climb up the veritable mountain. It was a much steeper climb than the previous one they'd been to. Many stairs lay in front of them seeming to continue forever. Occasionally rolling over around a corner and then heading back up another hill. Eventually coming to a plateau, providing them another sign with several more choices. Only three slides were here with the most extreme among them.\n\nPent looked at Xavier who seemed intrigued by the biggest drop. The fox pointed at another one right below it, a two people chute ride that appeared to be the least extreme of the selections they had available to them. The chipmunk didn't do much as he hadn't been on any of them before and was game to try anything. They proceeded up the right path to where the cute was and made their way up another set of stairs.\n\nSoon they came onto another line. This one took just as long as the last one they had been on since it was of a similar size. They filtered up the line bit by bit until they reached the top. From where they were they could see the biggest slide, which towered above where they were. They were summoned over by the lifeguards who told them it was time for their turn. \n\nXavier filed over first and grabbed onto the two rails that held him in place. There was no raft or anything of the sort. They were just to go down the slide together. Pent filed in behind the smaller boy and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend. They were pushed forward into a tube that surrounded them. Within seconds they found they couldn't see much as they sped forward with their bodies shifting every which direction.\n\nThe chute took a sudden small drop landing them slightly below down another few turns. Rotating them around in a full 360, only to have them completely reversed with Pent going with his back facing the wrong way. The chute continued to push them down delivering them down a quick ramp and directly out back into the open. Both boy's bodies crashed forward against the reverse motion of the jetted water that pushed against them.\n\nBoth boys came to an abrupt stop at the end of it. Xavier's body had rolled over on his back with his body facing opposite of Pent's. The fox looked directly at the other boy. The chipmunk's legs sprawled out with one of his feet kicked up in the air. The bigger boy found himself staring at the cub's paws again. Xavier fixed himself before long and the two got out of the drop-off area before long.\n\nThe cubs decided to get lunch after that as they had already been there a while. They went to the cafeteria area and got lunch together. Both boys with smiles on their faces, seeming to be enjoying their day together. After eating they remained inside for a bit and shared a big soda that they both sipped on together. The air conditioning in the place offered them a bit of respite from the otherwise warmth of the sun.\n\nThe rest of the day went much the same. The boys continued to rotate between the easier and more extreme slides. Eventually getting the heart up to try the biggest slide in the park. Riding on some of the slides more than others. Not bothering with the more chill things like the wave pool or the lazy river. Only occasionally having to stop to get water to cool down their otherwise overheated bodies.\n\nBy the end of the day, they were tired. Both cubs had been walking all day. Their feet were sore and they were ready to go home. Xavier made sure they picked up the picture they had taken and they headed to the exit since it was time to go home. Both boy's skin was a little red from the sun but the suntan lotion had protected them for the most part. Still, they were spent from the day and ready for some rest.\n\nThe two cubs were picked by the chipmunk's mother. They got in the car but within minutes of doing so, Xavier conked out on Pent's shoulder. The fox passed out against the side of the car. She smiled at them and decided to let them rest at least until they got home. It wasn't a long drive but she knew they must have enjoyed themselves since they seemed so exhausted. Once they got home she eased her son nudging him to wake up.\n\nIt took a few tries but eventually, he came around. He did the same for Pent before the two slowly got out of the car. They slugged along until they were back inside. They were glad to be back in air conditioning again. Their bodies were still hot from being inside all day. The mother took their towels and shirts as neither of them had bothered to put them on. Both boys lurched to Xavier's room, neither worried about dinner.\n\nXavier plopped on his bed the moment he got into his room. His whole body was sore from the slight sunburn but his feet were more than anything. The fox sat at the corner of his bed trying to keep himself awake. The chipmunk's mother brought them some sodas to perk up the two boys since they seemed to be out of it. The bigger boy moved back and the two hung their arms round another. \n\n\"I had a lot of fun today, Xae….thanks for inviting me.\" Pent said in a soft voice.\n\nXavier nodded. \"Yeah….me too….but I'm exhausted.\"\n\n\"It was really hot today…haha…\" The fox tried to not sound like he was complaining.\n\nThe chipmunk sighed. \"Uhuh….my whole body is sore but…my feet hurt the most.\"\n\nXavier recalled the little deal they had made the other day and a thought began percolating in his mind.\n\n\"I'll be right back…I'm going to get\n some Aloe Vera.\" The chipmunk slowly got up to get a bottle from the bathroom before returning with it and rejoining Pent.\n\n\"That's a good idea. I bet aloe vera will feel nice on our skin under our fur.\" Pent took the bottle from his boyfriend and put some on his palm.\n\nThe chipmunk smirked. \"Pent…I was thinking. Do you remember that deal we made yesterday at the race track?\"\n\n\"Yeah, what about it? Did you think of something you want me to do?\" The fox had begun applying the aloe vera to himself.\n\nXavier leaned in and whispered to Pent's ear closest to him. \"My feet….really hurt Pent….Can you…rub them?\"\n\n\"Huh? You want me to….rub….your…feet?\" The fox stopped what he was doing as he thought about it.\n\nThe chipmunk nodded and placed his right leg over Pent's knee. \"Uh-huh.\"\n\n\"But…Xae…\" The fox looked down at the cub's paw that had been placed on his leg.\n\nXavier pleaded with his boyfriend. \"Please, Pent?\"\n\n\"Erm……\" Pent hesitated a few seconds.\n\nAn awkward silence was shared between them for a moment. Pent was deep within his thoughts. Xavier thought he might have crossed the line. The fox was looking away. The chipmunk decided to move his foot off Pent's knee.\n\n\"Wait…\" Pent said as he snapped back, finally coming around to the idea.\n\nXavier smiled at the fox as he moved his foot back onto Pent's knee. Pent slowly moved his hand down, guiding his hand ever closer to the boy's foot. The fox's hand was trembling ever so slightly, partly from anticipation and partly out of anxiety. The chipmunk couldn't help but notice his boyfriend's hand shaking.\n\n\"Relax, Pent…I promise it will be okay….\" Xavier smiled at the other cub. \n\nAfter a few moments more hesitation, he grabbed the boy's paw and brought it closer to him. Once it was close enough, he set it back down. Xavier watched with interest, uncertain what his boyfriend would do.\n\nPent had never rubbed someone's paws before. He'd thought about rubbing Xavier's before but had never imagined he'd get to do it. He began to slowly line one of his fingers along the length of the chipmunk's sole.\n\nXavier giggled a bit. \"That tickles, Pent.\"\n\nThe fox continued to stroke the bottom of the boy's paw with a single finger. Drawing imaginary lines along his paw pads. He could feel the boy's body heat emanating from his feet. Soon the bigger boy began toying with each of his toes. Xavier wiggled his toes a bit as he tried to relax. The entire time Pent stared at his boyfriend's paws, seeming all too focused on what he was trying to do.\n\nPent eventually wrapped his whole hand around the cub's paw and squeezed gently. Compressing Xavier's paw pads between his fingers and his paw pad. He couldn't believe he was doing this…It was like many of his dreams come true.\n\n\"That….feels…nice…\" Xavier eased himself back a bit.\n\nThe fox smiled, glad that his boyfriend was enjoying this. Joining with his other hand and rubbing with both of his largest fingers along Xavier's paw pads. The chipmunk was entirely relaxed at this point. Despite Pent not knowing what he was doing, it seemed to feel good all the same. The bigger boy followed by squeezing each of the cub's toes before there was a call from the kitchen that dinner was ready. Pent immediately let go of Xavier's paw.\n\n\"Thanks…. haha.\" The chipmunk pulled back his foot and sat up.\n\nPent meekly smiled. \"Sorry….I hope I didn't make it weird…\"\n\n\"It's okay, Pent…I asked you to do it. Try to relax next time, okay? I promise I won't judge you. I love you.\" The smaller boy leaned in and kissed his boyfriend.\n\nThe fox blushed and nodded. \"Thanks, Xae. I love you too.\"\n\nThe boys went out of the room together and had food with the chipmunk's parents. Both pairs share details of their days. Xavier shared more than Pent did, as was often the case when the fox was feeling weird about something. Though none of them said anything about it. \tThe days were becoming hotter and hotter as the winter season fell further into the backdrop. Everything had opened back up and with it, advertisements were all over the place with things to do and places to visit. For a bright and burning relationship like Xavier and Pent's…the possibilities were endless. So long as both boys were willing their relationship would continue to grow and flourish becoming ever stronger and unbreakable.

\tXavier had recently caught a bit of a bug. The chipmunk had been sick for a few days and as such had been barred from seeing his boyfriend. This soured him to no end. He wanted to hang out with Pent but he also didn't want the other boy to get sick. He understood that distance needed to be kept for health reasons but that didn't stop him from wanting the closeness of his special little guy.

\tPent had stopped by a few times, each time for no longer than 10 minutes. The chipmunk's parents had forced him to wear a mask so he didn't get sick. Whenever Pent asked to stay, they declined. Sure it was sweet but whatever the chipmunk boy had caught seemed to be bad enough to warrant him keeping his distance. Still, the fox cub showed up whenever they would allow him to see Xavier.

\tThe chipmunk was starting to feel better. His nose has cleared up and he was no longer dripping snot everywhere. He was still a little congested but it was nowhere near as bad as it had been the past few weeks. He'd been cooped up so long that he was looking forward to going back to school so that he could get out of the house. This was something he hadn't experienced before, at least in recent memory.

\tHe was sitting on his bed and watching the television. He wasn't much for television except when professional Lacrosse was on. This particular day he was watching baseball, more because nothing else was on…at least from what he thought. It was between two of the innings and a commercial soon aired. Usually, he changed the channel when he saw a commercial start but the tv controller wasn't in reach as he'd forgotten it in the bathroom.

\tThe advertisement in question was for a go-kart track and water park nearby called Baxter's. The two attractions were right next to each other. The place appeared to be running a promotion where if you bought one ticket you would get a free day at the adjoining park. The go-kart track appeared to have games…and the water park promised fun and excitement for the entire family. The screen flashed with the price of $50 per ticket. Xavier immediately wanted to and he wanted to invite Pent to go with him.

\tHe picked himself out of bed despite his body aching a bit. Dragging himself into the living room where his parents were watching some game show.  He coughed as he entered the room with his mouth covered.  His parents stopped him where he was.

"Stop right there, kiddo. You're still sick and we don't want whatever it is you have." His father said waving his finger.

The chipmunk boy nodded. "Sorry, I feel a little bit better today I promise."

"Regardless…you're still coughing." His mother got up and touched his forehead. "And….you still have a fever."

Xavier whined. "But…I wanna do something…."

"You can do whatever you want in your room. You need to get well." The mother walked back away from him.

The chipmunk sighed. "Fine…but after I get better do you think I can go to Baxters?"

"You mean that go-kart track or whatever?" His father had heard of the place.

The cub nodded happily. "Uh-huh."

"I don't see why not once you're well. You haven't gotten in trouble recently and your grades are better." His mother smiled at him.

The rodent's tail twitched behind him. "Cool. Can I invite Pent too?"

"Of course, bucko." The father chuckled at him.

Xavier left the room leaving the two parents alone. They discussed it for a bit longer.

"I suppose we have to pay for it?" The woman asked as was usually the case.

Her husband shook his head. "I'll buy the tickets it's not a big deal."

"Not gonna make him work for it?" She asked since this was usually the case.

The man hummed. "Nah, It's not like he wants us to go and I don't want him going alone."

"He's completely fallen for that boy. You know that right?" She wanted to make sure he knew.

The father looked at her. "Of course. Does he even hang out with anyone else anymore?"

"I don't think so…haha…" The woman tried laughing it off.

The husband reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. "Regardless, he's happy and that's all that matters."

It was several more days before Xavier fully recovered from his sickness. The chipmunk had lost a little bit of weight from not eating as much but it was barely noticeable. Fortunately, his appetite had picked back up and he had gone back to eating the same amount he was before. His father had already bought the tickets and planned to surprise his son with them when the time finally came.

It was already the end of the week and Xavier's parents had let him stay home one extra day to allow him to fully recover. It was an early release so they figured it wouldn't matter much.  His parents had already asked Pent's foster mother if he could stay the night to help the weekend so that Xavier could catch up. It was an issue that she had no problem with as Samaliel was already going to be out of the house as well on a field trip.

So that afternoon, Xavier's parents picked up the young fox from school. It was the first time he'd ever been alone with either of them in the car. He was a bit nervous as he entered the car with his boyfriend's mother. She noticed that the cub's tail was between his legs as he entered. She hadn't seen him like this since the first time he'd come over some time ago. He made sure to sit in the back seat, giving himself a bit more space from her.

"Hello, Pent. I hope school was well?" She tried to make things less awkward for him.

Pent murmured. "Um…"

"I don't bite…I'm no different even with Xavier not here…" The mother started the car so they could get underway.

The fox looked out of the window not sure of what to say. "Okay."

The woman decided to not push his comfort zone. She had seen him shut down before and was somewhat familiar with the signs. She began to head towards the chipmunk's home. Eventually Pent snared himself into another book, easily losing track of time. The drive takes only a few minutes. She stopped the car, noticing he was still reading.

"We're here, cubby." She said as she pulled in and opened the door.

Pent put his book down and got out of the car. He proceeded to the front door and waited for her to open it up for him. The fox walked slowly inside, expecting to see Xavier but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Where's Xae?" He asked her.

She smiled at him. "I'm sure he's in his room. He will be excited to see you."

The cub bulleted out of the front room, forgetting all about taking his shoes off. She chuckled at him, deciding to not give him grief about it. A few minor dirt stains were nothing major to clean as she looked at his footsteps. Pent arrived at a closed door and knocked on it. The chipmunk boy wasn't expecting the other cub so he just stayed at his workstation.

"You can come in." He said without much thought.

Pent pushed the door open and put his bag on the floor. "How are you feeling?"

Xavier heard the voice and immediately knew who it was. Getting up from his workstation and walking over to hug Pent rather passionately.

"Hi, Pent….I missed you so much…I'm feeling better now. Thanks." The brown-furred cub hugged his boyfriend tightly.

The arctic fox's tail wagged behind him softly. "I missed you too, Xae. I'm glad you feel better."

The two hugged for a few seconds before Xavier gave Pent a peck on the cheek causing his boyfriend to blush.

"You're mom told my foster mom you wanted help to catch up?" The fox figured they'd get to work right away.

Before the rodent was about to answer there was another knock on the door.

"I couldn't help but overhear your conversation…but I think I have something else you two would like better." She held out the two Baxter's tickets in her hand.

Xavier padded over to her and looked at her hand. "Tickets to Baxters? But what about homework?"

"I think your homework can wait for a little. I already asked if he could stay the weekend and his foster mother said yes." She handed over the tickets to him.

The boy hugged his mother. "Cool, thanks, Mom. I promise I will finish my homework tonight."

"Go get dressed. You've been stuck in your room long enough. We'll leave in 20 minutes." She left the room allowing the two cub's privacy to get changed.

Pent looked at his boyfriend curiously. "What's Baxters?"

"It's a go-cart track…with an arcade and a water park attached to it. Looks like the ticket says we get to do the track today and the water park tomorrow. Sound fun?" Xavier headed over to his dresser drawer to get a change of clothes.

The fox smiled. "Heck yeah, that sounds cool."

 The chipmunk started to get undressed right in front of Pent, taking his shirt off without much thought of doing it in front of his boyfriend. The fox stared at him for a second. The moment his shirt hit the floor Pent's mouth opened a bit as if surprised.

"Aren't you going to get changed? I mean…do we need to go in the bathroom?" The chipmunk noticed his boyfriend's stare and blushed.

Pent murmured a bit. "I…guess….not…"

The white fox turned around and grabbed the stuff he'd brought with him in his bag. He'd brought a change of clothes but no bathing suit for tomorrow. Grabbing the set of clothing he began to take his shirt off. Turning back around he saw the other boy in nothing but his boxers. His lithe but athletic and furry body was right in front of him. Pent stared again at the other cub.

"Like what you see, Pent?"  The brown-furred boy flexed a bit as if teasing his boyfriend.

The bigger boy nodded.
 "Uh-huh…"

"Let's get ready." Xavier reminded his boyfriend as he started to slip on a shirt to make it easier on the other boy.

Pent finally started to get undressed. Xavier watched him with interest as he stripped down from his shirt to his underwear. Taking a similar interest in the other boy's body. The fox got into his clothes before long, putting his school stuff back in his bag.  Xavier grabbed a pair of socks before heading out into the hallway with his boyfriend in hot pursuit. The two of them waited there a few moments for the chipmunk's mother.

Xavier proceeded to sit down and put his shoes and socks on. Pent looked outside to see what the weather looked like. It appeared to be a nice day with just a few clouds in the sky. It wasn't much longer before the woman reappeared with the two tickets in her hand as Xavier had forgotten them in his room. She shook her head at him but said nothing to her.

"Come on boys, let's head out." She said as she opened the door for them.

The two boys held each other's hands as they walked out the door together. The chipmunk's mother smiled at them. The fox's tail wagging gently behind him as he seemed to be happy as a clam. She closed and locked the door behind them and made her way to the car. She opened the door for them and got inside herself. As usual, the two boys sat in the back right next to each other. She had grown used to Xavier not sitting in the front seat anymore whenever his friend was around.

Both of the cubs buckled up and got settled in. She checked them just to be sure and they were soon on their way to the go-cart track.

"Have you ever driven go-karts before, Pent?" Xavier asked as he was a bit curious.

The white fox shook his head. "Nah."

"It's fun. I can show you how. We can ride in the same cart if you want." The chipmunk had done it a few times in the past with other friends.

Pent smiled and nodded. "That would be cool. I would like that."

'Cool, I promise it will be fun." The brown-furred boy leaned in and kissed his boyfriend on the cheek.

The bigger boy blushed at him. The two continued chatting about nothing specific until the car pulled into the parking lot of Baxter's. The place had two distinct sections, both of which they could see from where they were in the car. On the right side of the vehicle was the water park, where they could make out a few slides and a manmade waterfall. On the other was the go-cart track and the building in front of it.

The chipmunk's mother pulled out in front of the building and opened the doors for them to get out.

"Alright boys. It's a little after 1 now…This place closes at 6 so I will be here around 530 to pick you two up. Sound good?" She looked back at them to make sure they understood the plan.

Xavier nodded. "Okay, mom. Thanks."

She smiled at them and gave the tickets to her son. Once they were out of the car, she was on her way. The two boys stood next to each other, still hand and hand with one another. The chipmunk took hold of the tickets and headed for the entrance. They could hear the sounds of go-kart engines and the screeching of tires in the near distance. Xavier and Pent made their way up to the entrance of the building.

A small line filtered to the inside of the place with one person checking and clipping tickets. Both cubs proceeded to wait in line until they were seen. Each of them goes through a turnstile before meeting up again on the other side. The person manning the stall told them to enjoy themselves before continuing with the next patron. Xavier led Pent to the inside of the building where they took in the sites of the place.

The arcade stood in front of them. Several rows of machines with no particular order or organization to them were all around them. Several cubs could be seen running around the place with their parents or guardians nowhere to be found. A few older teens were hanging about, draping themselves over whatever game interested them. Even a few college students were about hanging out in the pizza parlor with little care for anyone else.

Xavier tugged on Pent and led him through the complex. There were signs indicating where the race track was, so it was obvious where they needed to go. As they got closer to it they could hear the sound getting ever louder. The lights of the place flashed and flickered as they passed various machines that were trying to gain their attention. Yet neither of them was interested enough in the games to pay attention to it.

They made their way back to the rear of the building where some automatic sliding doors opened up as they approached. Some older furs stared at the two cubs holding hands but said nothing about it. They soon arrived outside where a small ramp led to the loading docks of the race track. In front of them was the go-kart parking area where several rows of vehicles lay in wait for whoever was about to take them out on the track.

Xavier's excitement began to pique as he tugged on Pent a little quicker. The two walked as fast as they could down the ramp until they were stopped at the fenced-in area. A large cheetah held their paw out as they waited for the current patron to get in the car and be on their way. It wasn't a very long wait before she turned around and looked down. She thought about measuring them but they seemed big enough to ride by themselves.

"Single or Double?" She asked while chewing some bubble gum.

Xavier smiled warmly at her. "Double, please."

She pointed toward the larger carts in the back of the rows of vehicles. The chipmunk tugged on his boyfriend again. Pent was more than happy to go along with the motions. The smaller boy looked at the car in front of them. It was a two-seater with a single wheel in front.

"Do you want to sit in front or back?" The brown-furred boy asked him.

Pent shrugged. "Whichever is fine with me."

"Okay…I wanna show you how to drive it. You can sit in the back this time and we can swap after." The chipmunk slid himself down into the front seat.
 
The arctic fox boy didn't take long to join him in the rear of the little go-cart. Each boy was strapped in with seat belts inside of it. The cheetah gave them the green flag as Xavier put the pedal to the metal. The vehicle sped off past the starting line, wind blowing past them as they made their way down the first turn. Their bodies swayed in the same motion as the turn as the cart forced their bodies one way or the other.

Pent took hold of the little bar in front of him. There wasn't much suspension in the go-kart track so each time it hit a bump or hole in the road, the cart bobbled a bit. Xavier was able to handle the little car masterfully. Able to cleave back and forth between the twists and turns of the course. Even tried the little obstacle course and was able to make it through without hitting but a single cone.

Soon the chipmunk took them over a ramp. The cart not going very far off the ground but lifted for several seconds. Their bodies jolted forward and then back as the car recoiled upon hitting the ground again with a loud thud. The track continued down straight away, allowing Xavier to go top speed as they rushed down the track. Finally coming to the end of the track where the chipmunk was forced to slow down a bit when taking the vehicle back through the loading area.

Another member of the pit crew came to check on them once the smaller cub parked the vehicle. Both cubs had smiles on their faces. It seemed they had enjoyed themselves. They unbuckled themselves and got out. Both of them chuckle about the more exciting moments in the track.

"You are a really good driver, Xae…haha.." Pent couldn't believe how his boyfriend had handled the cart so well.

Xavier smiled at his boyfriend. "Thanks, Pent. Did you want to try driving now? It's not that hard."

"I don't mind trying. It didn't seem that difficult at least from watching you do it." The fox shrugged as he wasn't averse to trying new things that seemed fun.

The chipmunk nodded. "Yeah, it's not difficult. I promise. We can ride together again just in case you need help."

They proceeded back around to the front of the race track and waited in line again. It wasn't a long wait since there weren't many people there.  Pent was thinking to himself the entire time about crashing or something of the sort. Soon it was the two cubs turn again and the cheetah passed them through the gate. Pent was a little bit nervous and his tail was between his legs. His boyfriend noticed and took his hand, leading him forward.

"Come on, Pent. I know you're nervous. I promise it will be fine. I don't care if you crash or whatever." Xavier eased him over and got in the back seat.

The fox wasn't far behind him and got into the seat, putting his hands on the wheel.  The two buckled in again  The fox took a deep breath once the flag was waved. Taking the vehicle slowly but surely around the track. He went nowhere near as fast as his boyfriend did. The other cub leaned forward and whispered into his ear.

"Try going faster, Pent…it's more exciting." The chipmunk eased back into his chair.

Pent pushed his foot forward a bit, the thing picking up speed. The wind rushed past them again as they made their way down the track. Gradually Pent became more and more comfortable as he put more and more weight on the pedal. Finally pushing it near about halfway through the track but hitting one of the barricades. Both boys chuckle at Pent's accident but neither seems bothered by it.

The fox backed up and got back on track, going just as fast as he had been. He had a huge smile on his face and was rather enjoying himself. Xavier was just as happy to see his boyfriend get comfortable. The bigger boy skipped the ramp since he wasn't quite brave enough to jump just yet. Pulling into the unloading area, he parked. Both boys got out of the car at the same time, still laughing about
 what happened.

Xavier thought to himself, coming up with a way to make it more interesting so they could go again.

"Do you want to race now?" He asked the bigger cub with a smile on his face as they walked back around to the front.

The white cub hummed. "Yeah, we can race if you want."

"You don't want to?" The brown-furred boy wanted to make sure his boyfriend had fun.

Pent shrugged. "I mean…I've only done this won. I'm sure you'll win."

"It'll be fun." Xavier decided he would let the other cub win just to get his spirits up about his ability.

The fox smiled. "Okay."

They proceeded back around to the front and waited through the line again. This time picking to go in single carts. Xavier asked the cheetah if they could go at the same time. She had no problem with it since they had been together every time she had seen them. Both cubs picked a cart and each of them buckled in again. Pent was a little bit nervous but told himself it was all in good fun.

The flag was raised and the two cubs sped out of the starting line. Pent was nowhere near as slow this time out of the gate. He was competitive, just like the other cub was even if he was unsure of his skill. Xavier maintained a tight lead as they sped through the first few corridors of the track. Pent was putting the pedal to the metal but the other cubs tighter turns kept Xavier in the front of their little race.

It was about halfway through the track and the chipmunk peered back a bit to see where Pent was. He knew he needed to make it look believable. Starting to intentionally make deeper and deeper turns. Each time he did so, the fox caught up just a little bit more. As they were nearing the last turn of the track, Xavier let up on the gas a bit and the other cub sped in front. Pent soared through the finish line.

Xavier trailed in a few seconds later. It was a tight finish even if the chipmunk had let his boyfriend win. The fox got out of his car with a huge smile on his face. The cub's tail wagging behind him s. Xavier followed behind him and patted him on the back.

"Nice race, Pent." The chipmunk congratulated his friend.

Pent smiled widely. "I can't believe I won…haha…"

"See…I told you it would be fun. Do you want to go again?" Xavier was glad that Pent's confidence seemed to have improved a bit.

The bigger boy nodded. "Heck yeah."

"That a boy…want to make it interesting?" The brown-furred cub smirked a bit at his question.

The arctic fox's ears perked up a bit. "What do you mean?"

"The loser has to do whatever the winner says." The chipmunk crossed his arms confidently.

Pent playfully shoved Xavier. "You're on."

Xavier smirked and the two sped back around to the front of the entrance to the track. The line had died down a bit so it was a tad quicker to get through it. Both cubs proceeded to different carts when it was their turn again. Pent gritted his teeth, wanting nothing more than to win this race. The brown-furred boy was just as determined to show the bigger cub who was the top cub on the track.

The green flag was waved before long and both cubs sped out of the starting area. Pent's turns had gotten a bit better but they were nowhere near as clean as Xavier's. With each turn, the chipmunk got further and further ahead. Putting more pressure on his pedal,  the fox hoped his little cart would go faster. Yet the thing was at its top speed. By the mid part of the track, Pent could see the rear part of Xavier's car.

The race continued in much the same way. Pent maintained hope that he could catch up. But by the end of it, it was not to be. The fox finished a few moments after the smaller boy did. Still, he had a big smile on his face. He wasn't a spoiled sport and wasn't about to be sour about it. Xavier was already waiting for him when he pulled into the unloading area.  The chipmunk helped his boyfriend out of the cart.

"Nice race, Pent." He said with a grin on his face.

Pent smiled back. "Yeah…you're fast though."

"You'll get better…Do you want to go again?"

The white fox hummed. "Sure. What did you want me to do anyhow?"

"We can figure that out later. Let's just go have fun for now." Xavier put his arm around the other boy and walked back with him to the entrance of the track.

The two proceeded to ride the carts and continued to ride in the go-carts together. Despite doing the same thing for what seemed like the entire day, they continued to enjoy themselves. Having fun competing against each other and just enjoying each other's company. Xavier continued to let Pent win every once in a while but the chipmunk remained the victor on more occasions than he lost.

Before they knew it, Xavier's phone buzzed in his pocket. It was already 530 and his mother had returned to pick them up. Both cubs groaned when walked up front. They had been having so much fun that they had lost track of time. Both of them locked hands again and walked back to the front of the complex. Many of the other furs had left by this point of the day so they were able to make it through pretty quickly.

Xavier and Pent proceeded to the chipmunk's mother's car. She was a little annoyed they were late. But the moment she saw the little smiles on their faces, her heart instantly melted and she didn't care nearly as much. They filed into the back seat and continued giggling, going on about their day at the go-cart track. Nothing else in the world seemed to matter to them as they rambled about their day together.

The chipmunk boy's mother took them back to Xavier's home. The two's chatter hadn't died down much. Their constant conversation seemed more like giddy lovebirds than anything else. They proceeded inside after the door was unlocked with both cubs taking their shoes off at the door.

"Go start your homework, Xae. Dinner will be ready soon." She reminded him of his responsibilities.

He nodded to her and led Pent back to his room. His stuff was still on the office desk from earlier, along with the two rings that his mother had given him the other day. The chipmunk palmed them and didn't bother to sit down. He turned around and looked into Pent's eyes and smiled at him.

"Pent…do you remember those necklaces we used to have?" The brown-furred cub said sheepishly.

The fox frowned. "Yeah…what about them?

"Well…my parents passed these rings down to me…and I was wondering if maybe you'd like to have one?" Xavier held his palm out for the fox to look at.

Pent looked at them, the black and bronze rings sitting in between the pads of Xavier's hand. "They are nice. They were your parents?"

"Yeah, they don't wear them anymore since they have wedding rings now."  Xavier smiled at his boyfriend.

The bigger boy took one of the rings and put it on his finger, the thing being a bit loose on him. "Cool, I would love to wear one if you're going to."

"Sweet. I know it's not the same but at least we can share this along with the friendship bracelets I made." The chipmunk put the other ring on, experiencing the same issue the other boy did.

Pent hugged his boyfriend for a quick few moments before they were called to dinner. The two cubs walked back to the kitchen where the chipmunk's parents were already sitting down.   The fox and chipmunk sat together with wide smiles on their faces as they looked at the meal.

"Thanks, Mom and Dad. Dinner looks good."  Xavier wanted to be appreciative of his parents.

They nodded at him and began eating. The two parents had a long day with his father having a relatively bad day at work. Still, seeing his son with a bright and wide smile on his face brought him some level of joy. He tried to forget about his problems, noticing the two cubs had put the rings on their fingers.

"Ah, did you decide to give the promise ring to Pent, Xae?" The man said between bites.

His son nodded. "Uh-huh."

"You know you have to make a promise right? That's how they work. Something you both agree to break."  He swallowed another bite of food.

Xavier seemed confused. "Huh? What do you mean?"

"When your mother and I gave these to each other….we promised to always be loyal to one another no matter what. You and Pent need to come up with something like that."  The father explained as simply as possible.

The chipmunk hummed. "What do you think, Pent?"

"I dunno. That sounds important…we should think about it." The fox didn't want to jump anything silly they couldn't hold to.

The chipmunk's parents gave them a thumbs up and the extended family continued to work through the meal. Afterward, the parents gave the two boys a small bag of cookies to enjoy. Xavier broke in half each one of them before giving one to Pent. The two chomped on them together and enjoyed the sweet treat.  Pent noticed the other cub had a crumb on the bottom portion of his mouth, so he reached over and wiped it off for his boyfriend.

Once they were done, they excused themselves and got up from the table. His parents had already started the dishes as they didn't have any dessert themselves. It had become standard practice to give Xavier the night off from chores whenever Pent was over. He was always diligent whenever he wasn't around so it didn't bother them that much.  The two cubs made their way out of the kitchen and back through the hall to Xavier's room.

The chipmunk had been thinking about what they could promise each other. He wanted it to be meaningful and something they both wanted. He had already come up with a few ideas. The fox was already back at the desk and was waiting for him.  Xavier padded over and tapped his boyfriend on the shoulder.

"I have an idea for a promise, Pent…Do you want to hear it?" Xavier smiled widely.

Pent nodded. "Yeah, of course."

"We can promise to love each other no matter what happens…." The chipmunk said with a chirp in his voice.

The fox leaned in and hugged his boyfriend. "Absolutely, Xae. I wouldn't have it any other way.'"

The two
 pulled apart after and began to work on Xavier's homework together. The fox was more than happy to help his boyfriend catch up. They were able to make rather quick progress through it all. The chipmunk was beginning to enjoy study time more and more with his boyfriend around.  The two worked through the night until the chipmunk's father reminded them it was time for bed.

Each of them grabbed their change of clothes and went separately to wash themselves. Neither of them had thought about the prospect of bathing together just yet. Pent went first and his boyfriend shortly after. When Xavier returned he found his boyfriend digging his nose into another book he brought, sitting on the floor.

"You know you can sit on my bed right?" He chuckled at the boy standing mere centimeters from him.

Pent shrugged. "Yeah, but I guess I'm just used to being down here.

"Come on, silly. I will read with you on my bed." Xavier grabbed one of his books, not caring which one it was.

Pent got up and climbed up on his boyfriend's bed, placing his back against the wall. The chipmunk soon joined him in bed with a small graphic novel of his own. The two sat shoulder to shoulder again as each of them started to read. Xavier leaned his body against the other cub, enjoying his body warmth against his own. He tried to force himself to read but it just wasn't getting anywhere for him.

After about an hour of pretending to read, Xavier began to doze off. His body leans more heavily against Pent with each passing moment. The fox noticed him dozing and eased him back against his bed. Tucking him under his sheets and kissing him on the forehead.  Pent placed his book on the floor and joined his boyfriend in the bed. Sliding under the same sheets and placing his arm around Xavier. His heart was content and his mind happy. Allowing himself to fall to sleep next to the boy he loved.

The next day they were waken up by a knock on the door. It was time to get up to head to the water park.  Xavier awoke first, somewhat surprised to find Pent wrapped around him. His movement roused the other cub who gently smiled at him before yawning and stretching.

"Morning, Pent. I think it's time to get ready to hit the water park. Wanna get ready?" Xavier stroked the side of Pent's arm.

Pent slowly sat up and nodded. "Yeah. I haven't been to a water park in a while."

"Cool, me either. It will be fun. Let's get changed into our swim trunks and stuff." The chipmunk eased his friend off the bed so he could get off as well.

They both stood up and went to gather their things. Pent collected it from his bag which had been placed in the room and his boyfriend from his dresser drawers. The fox kit was the first one out of the room and into the bathroom. Relieving himself before stripping down and changing into nothing but a swimsuit. He carried his shirt with him so he could put some sun tan lotion on later.

The fox headed out and let Xavier know it was his turn. The chipmunk smirked at his friend's shirtless body and ran his finger along the fox's chest. Pent simply smiled at him, enjoying the slight teasy action. The brown-furred cub didn't waste much time in the bathroom, getting changed as quickly as he could. Leaving himself in the same state of undress as his friend had.

When he returned to his room he found Pent on the bed lathering himself up with sun tan lotion. The fox looked at his friend, admiring his form once again. The familiar sight of his shirtless body made him blush.

"Want to put it on me, Pent?" The chipmunk said with a devilish grin on his face.

The fox softly nodded as he dabbed a few drops of the stuff onto his paw. Xavier moved closer so that his boyfriend could reach him. Pent hesitated a moment before finally reaching out and beginning to apply the lotion over the chipmunk's back, massaging it in between his blades and along the curve of his back. Soon turning his attention to the cub's front, rubbing it all over his chest and midriff spending a bit more time there than his back.

"That's nice….thanks…but don't forget my legs."  Xavier lifted one of his feet on the bed right next to where Pent was sitting.

Pent stared at it. The fox's interest in the boy's paws sparked again. Looking at it. The black paw pads underneath, his thin toes, and furry sole.  He couldn't help but just…look for a few seconds. It didn't take long for his boyfriend to notice. The chipmunk wiggled his toes a bit. The fox's focus remains unaltered.

"Pent….do you want to touch it?" The brown-furred boy remembered Pent's admission from the other day.

The fox snapped himself out of it finally. "Erm…sorry…"

Yet the fox ignored the question, still seeming bothered by his interest in it. The fox continued to lather up his friend's legs, turning his gaze away every time he even caught a remote glimpse of the cub's feet again. Fortunately for him, the chipmunk removed his paws once he was done. Xavier had noticed his odd behavior and began to think of a way to fix the issue.

"Let's go get some breakfast and head out." He suggested after putting his shirt back on.

Pent finished lathering himself up. "Sounds good."

The two went into the kitchen where breakfast had already been made. Today's meal was fruit and some toasted biscuits with jam. Xavier and Pent found that the chipmunk's parents didn't appear to be home. The chipmunk assumed they might be out getting something. He decided to text them just in case. They proceeded to eat through the food while he waited for a response from either of them.

Xavier's phone buzzed and he read the text from his father. The man told him he'd be back soon to pick him up and be ready outside in 15 minutes. This gave the two boys very little time to finish getting ready. The chipmunk informed his boyfriend and the two began to rush in an attempt to meet the deadline. Each of the grabbed some sandals, a towel, and a water bottle for each of them.

When they felt like they were ready, they put on their sandals and headed outside. Today was a hot today and they could feel the heat the second they stepped outside. Pent especially disliked the heat and hoped the water would be cool today. They sat on the porch and waited for Xavier's father to arrive. He was about 10 minutes late but when he did, both of them wasted no time in getting inside the car.

The man was in a rush. He had a meeting that morning and had asked for a bit of time to take his son to the waterpark. An issue that his boss took from his paid leave. This made the man annoyed but he wasn't going to take it out on the two cubs in the back seat. He began to car and started down the highway back towards Baxter's. Going as fast as the speed limit would allow him to make as good of time as possible.

It didn't take them very long at all to arrive back at Baxter's. The father was in a rush and didn't talk at all as he was stressed. He dropped the cubs off and informed them that they would be picked up at the same time as yesterday afternoon. This meant they had all day to enjoy the water park. He handed Xavier the tickets before they got out of the car. The cubs thanked the man before he went on his way.

Pent and Xavier proceeded to the other side of Baxter's where the water park entrance was. It was much busier than yesterday since it wasn't a school day. The fox and chipmunk held hands as they walked together through the line. They made their way through and the ticket was taken as they were guided through the entrance. Nearby the entrance one of the furs taking pictures invited them over.

Xavier pulled Pent over to where the photographer was. The older walrus looked at them as they approached.

"Are pictures included with the entry fee?" He asked as he hadn't brought any money.

He shook her head and the chipmunk groaned in response. "Alright, come on Pent. Let's go have fun."

The man noticed they were holding hands and stopped them before they left. "Hang tight…are you two a couple?"

"Yeah, why?" Xavier looked back at the hefty walrus.

He beckoned them back over. "I don't mind helping you guys out. Just don't tell anyone what I did."

"Cool, thanks." The chipmunk took his boyfriend back under the tree where the photographer was standing.

The walrus pointed the camera at them. "Okay, say cheese boys."

Both of the boys called out "cheese…." as the picture was taken. The man took a look at the photograph and assigned it a number.

"You two are number 21. You can collect your photo before you leave at the end of the day. Enjoy yourselves." He showed them the photo.

The man had transposed an image of a heart behind the two cubs. Xavier and Pent looked at it and smiled. Both of them thanked him for his kind attitude. Little did they realize he was gay and had a soft spot for other gay couples in the park. Xavier and Pent continued past the entrance of the park until they reached the area with the lockers. Each cub took their shirt off and pulled off their sandals before putting them in the same locker. The locker showed him the combo before they were on the way.

Pent and Xavier made their way past the locker rooms and into the main portion of the water park. In front of them sat the wave pool area where a lot of furs were wading around the water, some of them floating around within. A few slides of various heights could be seen in the background. The chipmunk took his boyfriend's hand again and took the lead around the wave pool, going right past it. The pavement was warm on his feet but he tried to ignore it.

Soon they arrived at a set of stairs. They began to climb it one step at the other. Pent lagging behind a bit by a few stairs but keeping up all the same. They climbed until they reached a split in the path with a sign indicating the slides up that particular route. Each of the signs had a description and intensity level underneath it.

"Which one do you want
 to do, Pent?" He asked his friend as he wasn't sure if Pent was afraid of heights or anything like that.

Pent looked at the sign and read it. "How about that one?"

He pointed at the group slide that seemed to be for families. Xavier nodded as they headed up the path where the family slide was. They soon approached a line where they waited for a short while. The line moved through rather quickly as the ride had a larger capacity of passengers for the tube than most things in the park. When it came to the fox and chipmunks' turn they were ushered into a tube with another family.

Pent and Xavier sat together with the family opposite them. The big raft was sent off without much of a delay. The thing spiraled around in circles as it cascaded down the halfway-open pipe. It twisted and turned each way, with every turn sending the tube up toward one end of the pipe or the other. Both cubs smiled and chuckled the entire time as the tube they were in carried them down the length of the slide.

The slide soon fed them through a darker area which had water spilled over the sides of the wall. Every time the tube was tossed, the water splashed inside soaking the passengers. The two boys soon find themselves getting wet mere minutes after getting on the first ride. Moments later they were sent through a small waterfall with each of the cubs guarding themselves to no avail.

When the ride came to a crashing halt, both cubs got out of the ride soaking wet. Water dripping from their fur and wiping their faces. Pent and Xavier both had huge smiles on their faces as the fox hugged his boyfriend in front of the other family. The short embrace broke up after a few minutes as a nearby lifeguard ushered them off. They soon began walking away again, eager for the next ride.

They went back to the same area where they entered the family ride. Going back up the same stairs to the same sign where they had chosen again.

"You can pick this time if you want, Xae." The fox wanted his boyfriend to pick this time.

Xavier looked at the sign and reviewed the options. There was another group slide, this time designed for two. He pointed at it and tugged Pent to get the bigger boy to follow him. They continued up another series of stairs that led up the left side of the manmade hill. It curled around the corner and led to yet another line they had to wait in. This time the line took longer since there were fewer people per ride.

It took them a while before they finally got their turn. They climbed steadily higher on the flight of stairs until they reached the top. They were called to the front of it. A small conveyer belt brought up sleds that were picked up by each of the groups. Xavier picked one up and set it down at the top of the slide. He sat down on the front of it, taking the rope in his hands. Pent took a seat behind him, holding onto the side of Xavier instead of the rope.

They were pushed off as the makeshift sled got underway. The sled skated down the slide as it sputtered water as they sped down it. The sled made abrupt and rough movements in each direction that it turned. The breeze and water brushed across their faces as they raced forward. The sled continued to pan back and forth until it hit a downslope. The thing sped up even faster as it fed them down the ramp before throwing them off and ejecting them into a pool below.

Both boys swam out of the pool. It was a more thrilling ride than the first one and the adrenaline flowed through their young bodies. The fox's tail was wagging behind him as he flicked off some of the water off his body.  He waited for Xavier to join him before the two boys again began heading to another area of the park, the one that appeared to have the biggest slide in the park at least from where they could see.

The walk from where they were to the "extreme" area of the park was a small one. There were a lot fewer furs around since it wasn't as family-friendly of an area. A sign at the bottom of the stairs indicated where they were. A warning was posted for what they were getting themselves into. The usual dictation about motion sickness and people were prior conditions. However, this minor warning wasn't enough to scare either of them.

They began to make the climb up the veritable mountain.  It was a much steeper climb than the previous one they'd been to. Many stairs lay in front of them seeming to continue forever. Occasionally rolling over around a corner and then heading back up another hill. Eventually coming to a plateau, providing them another sign with several more choices. Only three slides were here with the most extreme among them.

Pent looked at Xavier who seemed intrigued by the biggest drop. The fox pointed at another one right below it, a two people chute ride that appeared to be the least extreme of the selections they had available to them. The chipmunk didn't do much as he hadn't been on any of them before and was game to try anything. They proceeded up the right path to where the cute was and made their way up another set of stairs.

Soon they came onto another line. This one took just as long as the last one they had been on since it was of a similar size. They filtered up the line bit by bit until they reached the top. From where they were they could see the biggest slide, which towered above where they were. They were summoned over by the lifeguards who told them it was time for their turn.  

Xavier filed over first and grabbed onto the two rails that held him in place. There was no raft or anything of the sort. They were just to go down the slide together. Pent filed in behind the smaller boy and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend. They were pushed forward into a tube that surrounded them. Within seconds they found they couldn't see much as they sped forward with their bodies shifting every which direction.

The chute took a sudden small drop landing them slightly below down another few turns. Rotating them around in a full 360, only to have them completely reversed with Pent going with his back facing the wrong way. The chute continued to push them down delivering them down a quick ramp and directly out back into the open. Both boy's bodies crashed forward against the reverse motion of the jetted water that pushed against them.

Both boys came to an abrupt stop at the end of it. Xavier's body had rolled over on his back with his body facing opposite of Pent's. The fox looked directly at the other boy. The chipmunk's legs sprawled out with one of his feet kicked up in the air. The bigger boy found himself staring at the cub's paws again. Xavier fixed himself before long and the two got out of the drop-off area before long.

The cubs decided to get lunch after that as they had already been there a while. They went to the cafeteria area and got lunch together. Both boys with smiles on their faces, seeming to be enjoying their day together. After eating they remained inside for a bit and shared a big soda that they both sipped on together. The air conditioning in the place offered them a bit of respite from the otherwise warmth of the sun.

The rest of the day went much the same. The boys continued to rotate between the easier and more extreme slides. Eventually getting the heart up to try the biggest slide in the park. Riding on some of the slides more than others. Not bothering with the more chill things like the wave pool or the lazy river. Only occasionally having to stop to get water to cool down their otherwise overheated bodies.

By the end of the day, they were tired. Both cubs had been walking all day. Their feet were sore and they were ready to go home. Xavier made sure they picked up the picture they had taken and they headed to the exit since it was time to go home. Both boy's skin was a little red from the sun but the suntan lotion had protected them for the most part. Still, they were spent from the day and ready for some rest.

The two cubs were picked by the chipmunk's mother. They got in the car but within minutes of doing so, Xavier conked out on Pent's shoulder. The fox passed out against the side of the car. She smiled at them and decided to let them rest at least until they got home. It wasn't a long drive but she knew they must have enjoyed themselves since they seemed so exhausted. Once they got home she eased her son nudging him to wake up.

It took a few tries but eventually, he came around. He did the same for Pent before the two slowly got out of the car. They slugged along until they were back inside. They were glad to be back in air conditioning again. Their bodies were still hot from being inside all day. The mother took their towels and shirts as neither of them had bothered to put them on. Both boys lurched to Xavier's room, neither worried about dinner.

Xavier plopped on his bed the moment he got into his room. His whole body was sore from the slight sunburn but his feet were more than anything. The fox sat at the corner of his bed trying to keep himself awake. The chipmunk's mother brought them some sodas to perk up the two boys since they seemed to be out of it. Both boys take the can with a smile on their faces before sipping on it.

Pent and Xavier soon came around again, though they were still sluggish. The chipmunk sat in his bed and eased himself against the wall. He patted the spot next to him for the fox kit to sit next to him. The bigger boy moved back and the two hung their arms round another.

"I had a lot of fun today, Xae….thanks for inviting me." Pent said in a soft voice.

Xavier nodded. "Yeah….me too….but I'm exhausted."

"It was really hot today…haha…" The fox tried to not sound like he was complaining.

The chipmunk sighed. "Uhuh….my whole body is sore but…my feet hurt the most."

Xavier recalled the little deal they had made the other day and a thought began percolating in his mind.

"I'll be right back…I'm going to get
 some Aloe Vera." The chipmunk slowly got up to get a bottle from the bathroom before returning with it and rejoining Pent.

"That's a good idea. I bet aloe vera will feel nice on our skin under our fur." Pent took the bottle from his boyfriend and put some on his palm.

The chipmunk smirked. "Pent…I was thinking. Do you remember that deal we made yesterday at the race track?"

"Yeah, what about it? Did you think of something you want me to do?" The fox had begun applying the aloe vera to himself.

Xavier leaned in and whispered to Pent's ear closest to him. "My feet….really hurt Pent….Can you…rub them?"

"Huh? You want me to….rub….your…feet?" The fox stopped what he was doing as he thought about it.

The chipmunk nodded and placed his right leg over Pent's knee. "Uh-huh."

"But…Xae…" The fox looked down at the cub's paw that had been placed on his leg.

Xavier pleaded with his boyfriend. "Please, Pent?"

"Erm……" Pent hesitated a few seconds.

An awkward silence was shared between them for a moment. Pent was deep within his thoughts. Xavier thought he might have crossed the line.  The fox was looking away.  The chipmunk decided to move his foot off Pent's knee.

"Wait…" Pent said as he snapped back, finally coming around to the idea.

Xavier smiled at the fox as he moved his foot back onto Pent's knee. Pent slowly moved his hand down, guiding his hand ever closer to the boy's foot. The fox's hand was trembling ever so slightly, partly from anticipation and partly out of anxiety. The chipmunk couldn't help but notice his boyfriend's hand shaking.

"Relax, Pent…I promise it will be okay…." Xavier smiled at the other cub.

After a few moments more hesitation, he grabbed the boy's paw and brought it closer to him.  Once it was close enough, he set it back down. Xavier watched with interest, uncertain what his boyfriend would do.

Pent had never rubbed someone's paws before. He'd thought about rubbing Xavier's before but had never imagined he'd get to do it. He began to slowly line one of his fingers along the length of the chipmunk's sole.

Xavier giggled a bit. "That tickles, Pent."

The fox continued to stroke the bottom of the boy's paw with a single finger. Drawing imaginary lines along his paw pads. He could feel the boy's body heat emanating from his feet. Soon the bigger boy began toying with each of his toes. Xavier wiggled his toes a bit as he tried to relax.  The entire time Pent stared at his boyfriend's paws, seeming all too focused on what he was trying to do.

Pent eventually wrapped his whole hand around the cub's paw and squeezed gently. Compressing Xavier's paw pads between his fingers and his paw pad. He couldn't believe he was doing this…It was like many of his dreams come true.

"That….feels…nice…" Xavier eased himself back a bit.

The fox smiled, glad that his boyfriend was enjoying this. Joining with his other hand and rubbing with both of his largest fingers along Xavier's paw pads. The chipmunk was entirely relaxed at this point. Despite Pent not knowing what he was doing, it seemed to feel good all the same. The bigger boy followed by squeezing each of the cub's toes before there was a call from the kitchen that dinner was ready. Pent immediately let go of Xavier's paw.

"Thanks…. haha." The chipmunk pulled back his foot and sat up.

Pent meekly smiled. "Sorry….I hope I didn't make it weird…"

"It's okay, Pent…I asked you to do it. Try to relax next time, okay? I promise I won't judge you. I love you."  The smaller boy leaned in and kissed his boyfriend.

The fox blushed and nodded. "Thanks, Xae. I love you too."

The boys went out of the room together and had food with the chipmunk's parents. Both pairs share details of their days. Xavier shared more than Pent did, as was often the case when the fox was feeling weird about something. Though none of them said anything about it. After all, it was far from the first time the fox kit had withdrawn into his own space. Of course, Xavier knew why but he wasn't about to say why.

The rest of the night went like normal. Both boys slept well that night, sleeping in one another's arms again. Pent ended up going home the next morning as Samaliel had called asking for him. Xavier was more than happy to grant this request. After all, he knew that Pent couldn't just ignore his younger brother. He respected the relationship they had and thought of Pent highly because of it. The two parted with yet another soft embrace, kissing each other and breaking hands as they parted ways.
