Hailun had woken up early as he had promised Teemo earlier in the week that he would attend the Junior Bandle Scouts meeting. After all, he had missed it last week because he had forgotten about it. He wasn't about to let his friend down again, especially after how much he had helped Kennen out, even if he wasn't fully aware of the extent of his involvement.\n\n\tHailun hopped out of bed ad looked at the Crystal Rose garments hanging on a hanger by the door. He still hadn't returned the formal wear as it wasn't supposed to be returned until Monday and he hadn't had time yet. Looking at it made him think about the other night with Kennen and made him feel a bit nostalgic about them. He couldn't help but smile, wondering what the other boy might be up to today. Still, he knew he made a promise to Teemo and figured he could hang out with his boyfriend another day.\n\n\tThe red panda stretched and yawned as he tried to kick the feeling of being lazy. It wasn't usual that he got out of bed early on weekends. He rifled through his wardrobe and found something casual to wear as he wasn't sure what the dress code was for a scout's meeting. He didn't spend much time looking for anything in particular. Deciding on a graphic t-shirt and some jean shorts, along with some old grey socks and tennis shoes. Hailun rather liked wearing casual stuff since it wasn't often he got to do it since the school required uniforms.\n\n\tHe changed out of his pajamas and into his casual clothes. Looking in the mirror to make sure he wasn't missing anything. He grabbed a hat and put it on his head. Hailun's stomach rumbled reminding him that he needed to eat breakfast. Making his way to the kitchen, he saw his mother who seemed distracted with something else so he didn't bother her. Hailun was old enough to know how to handle himself and so it didn't bother him when either of his parents was busy.\n\n\tHailun made himself some oatmeal and fruit since it was an easy choice. Mixing it in before cooking it on the stove. It took a few minutes before it was ready. His stomach rumbled again as he was waiting, getting eager to eat it. It wasn't much longer before it was ready. Delivering it from the hot pot to a bowl. Wasting no time in blowing into it, causing some steam to rise. Diving in without delay as he enjoyed the taste in his maw.\n\n\tOnce he was done with his food, he made a quick cleanup routine before checking in with his parents one more time. They were talking about something but had stopped when he entered.\n\n\"I'm going to go to the Junior Bandle Scouts meeting. I promised a friend I'd go.\"\n\nThe mother nodded. \"Have fun, kiddo.\"\n\nHailun couldn't help but something was up but decided it was something he probably shouldn't bug them about. He figured they would share it with him if it was important enough. Sliding on some socks and shoes, he made his way outside. Looking beyond his front yard Hailun could see that it was nice outside. Only a few clouds were in the sky and the sun was burning bright. He began making his way to the school.\n\nOn his way, there weren't many other yordles about. He figured because it was a weekend that many people weren't out and about. It wasn't until he passed by the market that he saw some other people. He waved to Gnar who has passed by with his parents but the smaller cub was being dragged by his parents, seemingly to purchase whatever good they needed. Hailun made haste as he wasn't sure what time the meeting started and he didn't want to disappoint Teemo by being late.\n\n\tHailun arrived at the school before long. He could see other yordles hanging around the front of it. Most of them appeared to be kids or teens but there was one of them that appeared to be an adult. He approached them and was greeted by the Scout Master.\n\n\"Oh, hallo. Are you a new recruit?\" The woman welcomed him with open arms.\n\nTeemo noticed that Hailun had shown up and showed himself. \"Oh, yeah. That's Hailun. I invited him to come.\"\n\n\"Most definitely. We could always use new scouts. As you can see our numbers are rather thin but that does not make the experience any less meaningful.\" The grey-furred yordle reached her hand into her pocket for something.\n\nHailun looked around and noticed all the cubs and teens were wearing the same khaki uniform top and slacks. Some of them had badges adorned on a sash over their chest but Teemo had a surprising amount on his own.\n\n\"Thanks for coming dude.\" Teemo said with a smile.\n\nHailun nodded. \"Thanks for inviting me.\"\n\n\"Today is kind of low-key. Sometimes we go camping and stuff today but today is just community service. We're going to go help people in need.\" Teemo puffed out his chest seeming proud of the prospect.\n\nThe red panda smiled. \"That sounds cool. I don't mind helping people out.\"\n\nThe woman found what she was looking for. A small silver pin with the insignia of the scouts on it. Walking over to Hailun and fastening it to his shirt.\n\n\"Since you don't have a uniform. You can use this today but try and get a uniform if you decide to join and come again.\" She said before easing herself back.\n\nHailun attempted to give the same scout salute that Teemo had shown him the other day. \"Yes, ma'am.\"\n\n\"Very good. Well then. As Teemo mentioned today we are doing charity work. Your job is to help at least two people out. It doesn't matter the task as long as they ask for your help or you otherwise think they are in need. You may work in pairs. So while we're heading to town, pick your partners. We'll head out in a bit.\" She said before going over to collect a bag and packing it with provisions.\n\nHailun was certain Teemo would have a partner but decided to ask him anyways. \"Wanna be my partner?\"\n\n\"Sure, bud. Rumble can handle himself anyways. He's usually my partner.\" Teemo hadn't seen Rumble around anyways.\n\nThe red panda smiled. \"Cool, thanks.\"\n\n\"Alright, scouts. Let's head to town. Make it snappy. Chop-Chop!\" She motioned her paw forward to indicate she meant business.\n\nTeemo motioned for Hailun to follow him. \"Hope you have fun today.\"\n\n\"I'm sure I will.\" Hailun still wasn't certain what the group was about.\n\nTeemo and his friend continued to chat as they walked back toward the center of Bandle City.\n\n\"Thanks for the tickets to the Rift Gala by the way.\" Hailun wanted to make sure he had thanked his friend.\n\nThe smaller cub smiled. \"It's cool. Did you guys have fun?\"\n\n\"Yeah, it was super cool to dance with Kennen and stuff. He was handsome....\" The bigger boy daydreamed a bit about what the other boy looked like the other day.\n\nTeemo snapped his finger before nudging him a bit. \"Earth to Hailun, haha.\"\n\n\"Sorry. I didn't mean to daydream.\" Hailun blushed a bit.\n\nThe smaller yordle put his arm behind the other cub's back. \"It's cool. I was the same way when I first met Tristana so I understand.\"\n\n\"Yeah? What's is she like?\" Hailun wanted to take interest in his friend's relationship as well.\n\nTeemo winked. \"She's pretty neat. She used to be in scouts. That's how we met. Now we hang out more than ever before.\"\n\n\"That's cool. As long as you guys are happy that's all that matters.\" Hailun continued to follow Teemo into town.\n\nThe smaller yordle grinned a bit. \"Yeah, maybe one day you guys can hang out with us again. She enjoyed it.\"\n\n\"Oh? That's cool. I'll ask Kennen, I'm sure he'll be game. Hailun was getting a bit giddy thinking about going on another date with Kennen.\n\nTeemo gave a thumbs up. \"Cool. Well if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask alright?\"\n\n\"Thanks, Teemo. I'm still figuring out this whole relationship thing. I just want to make sure I don't mess it up.\" The red panda rubbed the back of his head.\n\nThe two continued to walk until they were in the main part of town. It was getting much busier than when Hailun had walked through it before. The red panda had no idea what to look for. Helping out people were fine but he'd never actually gone and looked for someone who needed help before. So he continued to follow Teemo in hopes the other cub would know better than he did. It wasn't long before they happened upon a woman who seemed to be looking for something.\n\n\"What's wrong ma'am? Can we be of any help?\" Teemo asked as he had a keen sense of picking up people's needs by their facial features.\n\nShe looked at Teemo, examining his uniform. \"Oh, good. A scout. Sonny, my dog has gone missing. Please find him! He's a black lab.\" She said as she showed off a folded image of it.\n\nHailun grabbed it and looked at it. \"We can help. Where did you see it last?\"\n\n\"He went missing over at the grand pathway but he usually goes to people's lawns and lounges about. This isn't the first time he's done this.\" She was still concerned as the dog was rather old.\n\n\"Teemo gave a thumbs up. \"We'll find him. No worries. The scouts are reporting for duty.\" The smaller cub gave a scouts salute.\n\nHailun handed back the picture and began to look for the dog. He imagined it wouldn't be hard to find but he know where to start.\n\n\"Alright, I'll cover the west part of town. You get the east. Fair? Teemo figured it would be easier to split things up.\n\nHailun nodded and trailed off to the east side of town. He began panning his ears around in hopes of hearing a bark or something that might give off the dog's location. The red panda cub looked around every nook and cranny, thinking that eventually would happen to the dog. He continued looking for half an hour until he overheard some laughing. Hailun figured it was some kids playing but decided to check it out anyways.\n\nLooking around the corner he saw some kids cornering what looked to be the black lab. They were crowding around it yelling at it. The dog was hunkered up in its hind legs, seeming very much afraid. From the looks of it, they appeared to be bullying the dog. Hailun quickly rushed in to help the dog out.\n Approaching it he saw the kids were rather small. He grabbed them both by the neck of their shirts, turning them around.\n\n\"Beat it.\" Hailun warned them.\n\nBoth of the smaller yordle children broke out of his grasp and ran away. Hailun walked up to the dog and tried to console it. The red panda stroked the dog a few times trying to comfort the scared beast. Eventually, the thing warmed up to him and licked his face. Hailun coaxed the beast to follow him before making their way back to the main part of town. He called out to Teemo to see if he could find where the other cub had gone.\n\nTeemo heard the calling and listened for it. Returning to the source of it before long. He saw his friend with the dog.\n\n\"Oh, nice job dude. You'll make a good scout yet. Where did you find it?\" He asked before patting the other boy on the back.\n\nHailun frowned. \"Some younger kids were giving it a hard time but it doesn't look like it was hurt.\" The bigger boy leaned down to stroke the dog again.\n\n\"Ah, that sucks. Come on...let's go take the dog back to its owner.\" Teemo suggested so they could start the next task.\n\nThe two made their way back to the woman who was still looking outside for the dog. The dog ran to her without delay upon seeing her. A tear came to her eyes.\n\n\"Thank you, boys.\" She began to pet the dog, hugging it.\n\nTeemo gave a thumbs up. \"Another job well done. Come on Hailun, let's look around for another.\"\n\nTeemo and Hailun continued to go around doing small bits and tasks for people. When everything was said and done the scout troop met back at the school. Hailun was given his first badge and the entirety of the troop clapped for him. The Junior Bandle Scouts never met for full days on weekends. When they were dismissed, the red panda thought about getting some lunch as he was a bit hungry. He departed from Teemo and decided to go about on his way out of the school.\n\nHailun figured he'd have to go home for lunch. He hadn't brought any money. The boy cupped his hand looking at it. The cub was glad he had gone to the meeting and was looking forward to getting his uniform as he thought the garments looked good. After mentioning it to his parents, they were more than glad to oblige as it would give him something to do. Even going as far as to take him to the scout supply store the next day.\n\nThe rest of his weekend was low-key. He found he missed Kennen a bit it made him look forward to Monday a bit more than usual. When the familiar alarm to get up in the morning for school sounded, he got up out of bed rather quickly. He couldn't wait to see his friends, especially his special ones. He wondered what Kennen had done on the weekend and looked forward to sharing his experience with the Scouts.\n\nHailun got ready for school and made his way to the kitchen. He knew his parents had already left for the morning as they had mentioned the previous day. He decided to stick to something simple and picked a bowl of granola and fruit. He rushed through his breakfast rather quickly and didn't bother making any lunch since he didn't mind the school food. Feeling he was ready, he rushed out the door and locked it behind him.\n\nHailun arrived at Bandle Academy before long. The day was bright with a few clouds in the sky. A light breeze carried some cool wind through the area. It was getting cooler as the climate was beginning to change. The chill didn't bother him so much as his fur more than protected him from the temperature. Making his way toward the building, he began to see who he could find that he knew. It was early so he wasn't sure who was around.\n\nEventually, he found Poppy hanging around under the big oak tree in front of the school. He waved to her as he made his way toward her.\n\n\"Hey, Poppy. Have a nice weekend?\" He asked her once he was within a more personal distance from her.\n\nShe nodded and leaned her back against the tree. \"Yeah, how about you?\" \n\n\"It was good. Do anything exciting?\" The red panda asked his friend.\n\nThe bigger girl shrugged. \"Naw, how was the dance? I heard it went well.\"\n\n\"It was good. I had a lot of fun. Kennen looked handsome in his Crystal Rose suit.\" The boy began to think about it a bit, daydreaming again.\n\nPoppy tapped him on the shoulder. \"Oh yeah? Well, I'm glad he showed up. I wasn't sure he would.\"\n\n\"Guess what?\" The smaller boy looked back over at her.\n\nThe staunch girl looked at him expectantly. \"Hmm?\"\n\nHe asked me to be his boyfriend and I said yes.\" Hailun blushed a bit.\n\nPoppy smiled a bit. \"Ah, that's good. I'm sure you guys will make a good couple.\"\n\n\"I hope I can make him happy.\" The boy was still a little worried he wouldn't meet the other boy's needs.\n\nThe bigger girl readjusted her backpack. \"I'm sure it will be fine. Besides…it's not like he's had a relationship before either so it's new to both of you. Just do your best.\"\n\n\"Thanks, where is he at anyways? Have you seen him around?\" Hailun looked around to see if he could spot the other boy.\n\nPoppy pointed towards the school. \"He has Kendo practice in the morning sometimes. You should go check it out. It's in the recreation area of the school.\"\n\n\"Cool, thanks again. See you later, Poppy.\" Hailun waved to her and made his way toward the school.\n\nThe red panda made his way into the building, passing by some of his friends. Amumu and Rumble waved to him as he passed by. The two still hanging around with each other. Hailun was glad it had worked out for the green yordle. He decided he would check in on Amumu later. For now, all Hailun wanted to do was catch up with Kennen and see how he was doing. He continued to walk quickly towards the recreation area of the school.\n\nThe recreation area of the school was by all means a makeshift gym. An open area with multi-level bleachers on both sides of the court. A lacquered wooden floor served as the event foreground. The place was used for sporting events, though the school didn't have many teams. The few teams they did have were intermural, competing which each other but focused more on cooperation than competition. Though there were more than enough chances for the students to prove their worth if they so wished to partake in a sport, regardless of what it was.\n\nHailun made his way into the recreation area. A large blue matt had been set up over the wooden floor. Entering it he could hear the battering of wood against each other. Constant whacking and the muffled sound of foam and rubber being hit occasionally. The red panda stopped for a second to see what was going on. Young yordle were adorned in full-length body robes with their faces protected by a mask that covered their face. Two cubs were at the center of the ring. Looking at them, Hailun couldn't be certain who they were.\n\nHailun made his way to the bleachers and saw down. He decided to watch even if he wasn't sure which one was Kennen as even the participants on the sidelines were wearing masks. The two cubs at the center of the ring were sparring with each other. One grey yordle with a longer wooden blade resembling the katanas of Ionia. The other was a brown yordle who wielded two kunai's one in each paw. Despite the difference in the size of the weapons the brown yordle continued to hold its own.\n\nHailun continued to watch the two as they continued to bash against each other. With each blow attempted by the grey yordle, their slash was met by the riposte of the other cub. The brown one continued to be on the defensive. Then all at once, the brown yordle rushed forward just as their ripost was landed. The other cub's blade was deflected strong enough to give an opening. The brown yordle holding up the wooden tip of the kunai to the other yordle's chest.\n\n\"Game set and match.\" The referee announced as the sparring match came to an end.\n\nHailun watched as the two combatants shook paws. The rest of the yordles, who were watching, had begun to walk away. It was apparent the event was over, so the boy got up from the bleachers. He noticed that the brown yordle had stopped in their tracks and was looking his way. The red panda continued to walk toward them, something in him told him it was Kennen. Before long the brown yordle took off their mask and ran forward.\n\nKennen smiled and hugged the other boy once they were at a more personal distance from each other. \n\n\"Hey, dude. I missed you.\" The bigger boy squeezed his boyfriend tightly.\n\nHailun returned the hug with one of his own. Pushing his body against the bigger boy, the red panda took a few inadvertent sniffs of the other boy's neck. He could smell something different, a slightly pungent odor emanating from the boy. The smaller boy was finding it to be somewhat appealing to him, pushing his wet nose against the bigger boy's neck and taking a longer sniff.\n\n\"Hey…that tickles.\" Kennen chuckled a bit.\n\nThe smaller cub pulled back a bit. \"You smell nice.\"\n\n\"I do? But I've been practicing all morning and I haven't had a chance to shower yet.\" The bigger boy tried smelling himself but couldn't smell much of anything as he'd gotten used to it.\n\n\"Yeah, you do. You were really good out there. You beat the other cub.\" Hailun patted the back of the other boy.\n\nKennen blushed a bit. \"Thanks. You should try it out. I think you would be good to have on the team.\"\n\n\"Oh? Are there tryouts or something?\" Hailun had never been on a sports team before.\n\nThe bigger boy shook his head. \"Nah, just come on Wednesday. The practice starts at 7. Just show up early to register. It would be cool to have you.\"\n\n\"Alright sounds good. I'll plan on it. How was your weekend?\" Hailun asked as they began to walk together.\n\nThe two boyfriends made their way to the changing room. \"It was alright. Kind of boring. I missed you, though.\" \n\n\"I missed you too. I had a lot of fun at the dance with you.\" The red panda put his arm over the other cub's shoulder.\n\nKennen sighed. \"Me too, I just wish I had come earlier than\n I did.\"\n\n\"It's okay. I had fun even if it was just one dance…\" Hailun didn't want the bigger boy to feel guilty.\n\nThe brown yordle stopped his friend for a second and turned him around so they were looking into each other's eyes. Kennen planted a kiss square on the boy's lips, not seeming worried about anyone seeing them anymore. The two remained for a few seconds before separating, both cub's faces flush red as they stood there in silence.\n\n\"I need to go take a shower…I'll see you later alright? I'm gonna try to talk to administration later about changing my schedule back. We should still be careful in case they see, you know?\" Kennen wasn't sure they would change his schedule back.\n\nHailun nodded. \"Okay. Maybe we can get someone to help us.\"\n\n\"I'll figure it out. Don't worry…if nothing else we can just hang out after class or whenever we have free time.\" The brown yordle scratched the back of his head.\n\nThe red panda waved. \"Alright, see you later.\"\n\nThe two separated for the time being. Hailun made his way back into the halls to get ready for class. The cub made his way to the survival class and waited outside the door. He stood next to Teemo who was still chatting away with Tristana. The red panda hoped Teemo wouldn't mind if he joined him again for the class. He tried not to listen to their conversation as he was certain they wanted privacy, so he just tuned them out.\n\nThe bell rang before long and Teemo waved to Tristana who made her way to class. Finally realizing that Hailun was right next to him.\n\n\"Oh, hey. Sorry, I didn't notice you.\" Teemo began walking into the class with the other cub right behind him.\n\nHailun shrugged. \"It's alright. I didn't want to bug you and Tristana.\"\n\nThey made their way toward the front of the class. This was one of the few classes that Teemo liked so he didn't mind sitting in front. The familiar instructor of the survival class showed up before long beginning their instruction. Today's lesson was a rather overloaded one, a so-called test of what they had learned. They were expected to create a survival kit of whatever they believed would be necessary to make it through a few days if they were lost.\n\nTeemo saw this as an opportunity to shine. He always brought his scout supplies with him and began rifling through his bag to find them.\n\n\"Alright, I will take care of the equipment. Go find some safe-to-eat berries and clean water and we should be good.\" Teemo instructed his friend while he began to pile things on the desk.\n\nHailun went outside and began searching for some bushes. Teemo had taught him the other day how to gauge fruits and so he felt confident that he could figure it out without much of an issue. Looking up at the sky it was clear out today with not many clouds in the sky. The winds were brisk with a cool breeze it brushed against his fur. He looked around at the other cubs to see what they were gathering but decided to keep to himself.\n\nEventually, he found what he considered to be enough berries and headed back inside. Teemo nodded before grabbing them from him. Hailun saw that he had grabbed enough supplies and took a water skin from his friend. He returned outside and contemplated the best choice for freshwater. He didn't have anything to boil it unless he stoked a fire. Deciding instead to go to a local stream that was famed for its fresh water. \n\nHe arrived at the river and saw that Vex was doing the same. The girl was staring at him, though he wasn't sure why. The cub began collecting the water and noticed she was approaching him.\n\n\"I trust your friend is better now?\" She asked, folding her arms.\n\nHailun looked over her. \"Who? Kennen? Yeah, he's better now.\"\n\n\"That's good. I was worried he wouldn't recover.\" The girl sighed in relief.\n\nThe red panda didn't know the entirety of what happened. \"How come?\"\n\n\"Because Veigar is a jerk and was messing with him but he's sworn he's going to stop.\" The grey yordle seemed a bit disappointed.\n\nHailun murmured a bit. \"Right, well no need in dwelling on previous issues I suppose.\"\n\n\"Oh? You're not upset?\" She seemed surprised the boy wasn't vindictive.\n\nThe bigger boy shook his head. \"Revenge will accomplish nothing.\"\n\n\"A lesson well heard. Well, I assure you it will not happen again.\" Vex was set on changing Veigar's ways.\n\nHailun nodded. \"I will hold you to your word.\"\n\n\"Is there nothing I can do to make it up to you?\" The grey yordle still wanted to set things right.\n\nThe red panda hummed. \"Maybe one day but not for now.\"\n\n\"Alright, just let me know.\" She held her paw out in a gesture of agreement.\n\nHailun shook her paw and finished grabbing water before heading back to the class and returning to Teemo. The two boys continued to work diligently until their work was done. When the instructor came around to check their progress, they were given a thumbs-up. It didn't seem like there was any formal grade for the assignment but still, they were satisfied with making it through it. Teemo and Hailun gave each other a high four when the task was recognized as complete.\n\nIt wasn't much longer before the bell rang signaling the end of class. Hailun walked out with Teemo before waving to him. Heading down the hall, he saw Kennen hanging out with Poppy. The two waved him over in an attempt to get him to join them. Looking at Kennen, it appeared he had changed clothing and was back in his school uniform.\n\n\"Hey, Hailun. I was thinking, maybe one day this week we could try the date thing alone this time.\" Kennen suggested as he was trying to be a bit romantic with the other cub.\n\nThe red panda nodded his head eagerly, his tail wagging behind him. \"Yeah, I would like that. What did you have in mind?\"\n\n\"The starlight cinema. Do you know that outdoor theater they have once a week? It's on Thursday and they are showing the Trials of Mount Targon.\" Kennen had heard of the place before but had never been there before.\n\nHailun smiled widely. \"I wouldn't mind spending some more time with you.\"\n\n\"Aw, such a cute couple.\" Poppy couldn't help but make the snide comment.\n\nKennen pushed his shoulder into her. \"Hush…So, yeah do you want to come?\"\n\n\"Yeah, I do. I'll ask my parents later.\" The red panda figured they would be alright with it.\n\nThe bigger boy hugged the smaller one for a moment. Hailun found he didn't smell quite as strong as before. The two separated the hug before long. \n\n\"See I told you, Kennen.\" Poppy crossed her arms expectantly.\n\nThe bigger boy rolled his eyes. \"Yeah, yeah. Whatever.\"\n\nHailun couldn't help but be curious. \"About what?\"\n\n\"That you and he would end up as boyfriend.,\" Poppy smirked widely.\n\nKennen shoved his shoulder into the girl again. \"Hush…\"\n\n\"Oh, stop. You know you like it when I tease you.\" The girl pushed him back.\n\nHailun chuckled a bit. \"You guys are funny.\"\n\n\"I'll see you at lunch alright, Hailun?\" Kennen said suggesting they could hang out later.\n\nThe red panda nodded. \"Yeah, sure. You can sit with Gnar and me if you like.\"\n\n\"Sounds good…I still need to apologize to him for the other day anyways.\" The bigger boy ground one of his feet into the floor.\n\nHailun shrugged. \"He knows, I think anyways. He'll be fine with you. Don't worry.\"\n\n\"Alright, see you later.\" Kennen leaned in and kissed Hailun on the cheek.\n\nOnce they were separated, Poppy whispered into Kennen's ears making the bigger boy blush. Hailun couldn't help but wonder what she said but supposed it was secret. The red panda waved before making his way to the next class. He saw Amumu waiting for him in the front row as always.\n\n\"Hey, dude. How did it go?\" Hailun tried to remain optimistic with the other cub but found it to be hard sometimes.\n\nAmumu nodded. \"It went well. He wants to go out again.\"\n\n\"That's good. Did you guys enjoy the dance?\" The red panda had seen the other two dance but he wanted to be sure.\n\nThe green yordle nodded. \"Yeah, he wasn't very good at dancing though.\"\n\n\"You can show him then.\" Hailun remembered the other boy had taught him how to dance.\n\nThe smaller boy shrugged. \"He doesn't want me to.\"\n\n\"His loss then. You're pretty good at it.\" The bigger cub touched the other yordle on the shoulder.\n\nAmumu smiled at the other cub. \"How about yours?\"\n\n\"It went well, Kennen and I had a nice time.\" Hailun turned his head forward as the class started anew.\n\nThe instructor didn't show up on time. The cubs began to grow restless before long. Moments later, the door opened and old Heimerdinger from Piltover made his way in.\n\n\"Greetings, student's today we will be making an invention. Your task is to make a hextech gear. You will be provided with the materials and a blueprint. There are no other restrictions. Let your imaginations go wild.\" The older man threw up his arms as if he was excited about the task.\n\nThe grey-haired yordle passed out the stuff to each of the desks. Amumu and Hailun got their stuff and started without delay. The small paper they were given didn't provide much guidance. Hailun looked over at Amumu who looked just as confused as he was. They began trying to fit together parts randomly but none of them seemed to fit. Amumu held one of them close to his eyes to determine if they had any labeling.\n\nLooking at it, he couldn't determine any distinguishing marks on it. Hailun tried reading the blueprints but the only thing on it was the design of the supposed gear they were supposed to make. He held up the paper to the light, expecting some secret to be revealed, and yet there was nothing unordinary about it. \n\n\"So…how are we supposed to put this together?\" Hailun couldn't help but ask out loud.\n\nHeimerdinger held up a single finger. \"Such is the delight of discovery. Try and try again until you find a way. Then the purpose shall be revealed to you.\"\n\n\"That's not helpful…\" Amumu murmured to himself.\n\nHailun looked at the parts again and laid them next to each other. Just as he had separated them, the metallic parts\n attracted against each other as if they had a magnet. First two parts and then a third. It was as if the thing was assembling itself. It then became more apparent what they had to do. If they could find the magnets that matched, then the machine would assemble itself. Hailun's face lit up as he figured it out. Holding a part near Amumu's hand to see if had figured it out.\n\nAmumu had seen what Hailun had seen and followed suit. The two finished before long and showed off their part to the instructor. The older yordle gave both of them a pat on the back.\n\n\"Now see what you can make it do.\" Heimerdinger instructed them.\n\nHailun huffed as he thought he was done with the ordeal. Amumu tried rolling it around but the device fell flat on its back. The red panda picked it up before spinning it. The thing rotates a few times before remaining idle on its side. The green yordle picked it up and repeated it but neither of them seemed to be making progress. Then Hailun came up with an idea…throwing it up into the air causing it to spur off into the distance.\n\nThe teacher clapped at them, waiting for the rest of the class to finish. Hailun and Amumu had to go around to help people but once they figured it out it was simple enough. Heimerdinger thanked them for their help and rewarded them with a small trinket he had brought along with him. Hailun looked at it. They appeared to be small medallions. He put it around his neck and thanked the man. The two headed out of class once the bell rang.\n\nWhen lunch finally rolled around Hailun made his way into the lunch room. He was eager to see Kennen again and his friends. He looked around and saw that Gnar was waving over to him. The red panda waved back to him and looked to see if he could see Kennen around. Yet there didn't seem to be any sign of him. He figured the other boy couldn't be far behind and decided to go through the line. He made his way through the line before grabbing himself something to eat.\n\nHailun then sat down next to Gnar who smiled widely at him. The orange yordle had crumbs on his cheeks from whatever he had been eating.\n\n\"Gnar, yada!\" The smaller yordle didn't bother to stop eating and continued to stuff his face.\n\nThe red panda chuckled. \"Hiya, Gnar.\"\n\nThe bigger boy continued to look occasionally around for Kennen. It wasn't for a few minutes until he saw him enter. Hailun stood up to signal for him to join them at the table. Kennen's face looked a bit glum and the other boy could tell.\n\n\"What's wrong?\" Hailun asked before Kennen even had a chance to sit down.\n\nKennen looked at Gnar and back over to Hailun. \"Are you sure you want to talk about it here?\"\n\n\"I mean, it can't be that bad can it?\" The red panda couldn't help but feel a bit concerned.\n\nThe brown yordle shrugged. \"I dunno. I asked admin if they would change my schedule back and they would say no.\"\n\n\"Oh…how come?\" Hailun frowned a bit.\n\nKennen sighed. \"They said we are together but they don't want us in the same class together.\"\n\n\"Why? Teemo and Tristana are in a lot of the same classes together. That's not fair…\" Hailun slumped in his chair.\n\nThe bigger cub sat down across from them. \"I don't but I guess there isn't anything we can do about it.\"\n\n\"Aw, alright…well thanks for trying. Maybe I should go talk to them later?\" The red panda wanted to help.\n\nKennen shook his head and began to eat the lunch he had brought. \"Nah, they said don't bother.\"\n\n\"That stinks well…at least we can hang out between classes and at lunch, right?\" Hailun wanted to try and be positive.\n\nGnar had just noticed that Kennen had joined them and was staring him down intently.\n\n\"Sorry about the other day, Gnar.\" The brown yordle held out his paw in an offer of appeasement.\n\nThe orange yordle chirped. \"Oga lagga.\"\n\n\"Cool, thanks for trying to come to Hailun's rescue. He appreciates it and so do I.\" The bigger boy continued to work through his meal.\n\n\"Ovagarava.\" Gnar didn't seem too bothered by it. \n\nThe three of them continued chatting through lunch. Gnar's issue with Kennen seemingly been forgotten. The two went back to being friends as if nothing had ever happened between them. The rest of the day goes on like normal until the end of the day. At the end of school, Hailun decided to hang outside and wait for Kennen to see if he could catch the other boy before he left. Sure enough, the other cub showed up walking along the side of Poppy.\n\nHailun waved to him and both of them ended up coming over. \n\n\"Hey, Kennen. How were your classes today?\" Hailun's tail wagged gently behind him.\n\nThe bigger boy smiled. \"It was good. I missed being in classes with you though.\"\n\n\"Me too…I was thinking we could do something now that school is over.\" The red panda just wanted to spend more time with the other cub.\n\n\"I'll leave you too love birds alone…see you later Kennen.\" Poppy showed herself out.\n\nKennen hummed. \"Yeah, okay. I guess it would be fine if I get home before dinner so my parents don't get worried. Where do you want to go?\"\n\n\"I was thinking we could go watch the sunset under the Bandle Tree. I've heard it's rather pretty.\" The smaller cub gritted his hands together as if he was a bit nervous about it.\n\nThe bigger boy nodded and took his boyfriend's hand in his own. \"Okay, that sounds cool.\"\n\nHailun and Kennen continued walking hand in hand through the schoolyard. Only a few eyes attracted their way but the bigger cub didn't seem as bothered about it anymore. Passing by Teemo and Tristana, Teemo couldn't help but feel glad that Kennen had overcome the issue. The two continued to make their way to the Bandle Tree. The bandle tree was near the back of the school on the outskirts of town. As they walked away from the school itself, the area became thicker with trees and it was apparent the light didn't filter much into the area.\n\n\"So…how are we going to see the sunset if no light gets through this area of the woods?\" Kennen asked as he was a bit curious about it.\n\nHailun looked over at him. \"We'll climb. I'll help you.\"\n\nThe two arrived at the Bandle tree before long. Hailun was an avid climber who had grown up climbing the trees of Ionia. He stood at the base of the tree and cupped his paw.\n\n\"Go on and pull yourself up to the first set of branches.\" Hailun waited until Kennen was close enough and then tried helping him up.\n\nKennen was a bit heavier than he thought but he still managed to help him up to the next level of branches. Hailun pulled himself up as he had done so many times in the past. The two continued up the full height of the tree until they were at the peak of it. Both of them had worked up a bit of a sweat in climbing the tree. Hailun set down his bag on the back of the branch before sitting down on a thick branch that overlooked the entirety of the forest and patted the spot next to him for the other cub to do the same.\n\nKennen squeezed himself in next to the other cub. Hailun slung his arm over the other boy and pulled him in close. The sun was still out but it was already beginning to set. The light of its rays was becoming a darker hue of red and yellow as it descended into the horizon. The red panda nuzzled into his boyfriend, picking up a little bit of his scent with his nose.\n\n\"This is nice…\" Hailun whispered into the other boy's ear.\n\nThe bigger boy looked into the other boy's eyes and kissed him deeply. The two shared a rather passionate kiss for several moments. Hailun's arms stroked and rubbed along the bigger boy's sides, enjoying his warmth against him. Kennen's arms stroked along the other cub's back, massaging it a bit as he motioned along the other boy's spine. They separated after a few moments, the two of them flush with red hues on their faces.\n\n\"Yeah, it's pretty out…thanks for inviting me. Wanna lay on me and relax a bit?\" Kennen suggested that they could be a bit more comfortable in the small space.\n\nHailun slowly readjusted himself and stood up so that Kennen could center himself on the branch. He waited until Kennen had stopped moving and bent down, easing his body against the other boy so that he was laying right on top of the bigger cub. Once he had stopped moving, Hailun could feel Kennen's steady breathing as his chest caused him to rise and depress with each inhale and exhale. Kennen's hand reached over his friend and began stroking Hailun's chest.\n\nHailun closed his eyes as he was rather comfortable in the spot he was sitting in. Eventually, Kennen pushed up Hailun's shirt and continued stroking his belly. The bigger boy resting his eyes, his touch, eventually came to a stop. The two seemed to doze off a bit, as they were overly relaxed. When Hailun awoke again he found that the sun had already set. It was already dark out and he began to panic as he knew his parents would be upset with him.\n\n\"Wake up, Kennen. We fell asleep!\" He reached back and shook the other boy to rouse him from his state of slumber.\n\nIt didn't take long for him to wake the other cub. Kennen's eyes grew wide as he just realized it was late as well.\n\n\"Oh…man. My parents are going to kill me!\" The smaller boy said.\n\nHailun started grabbing the things they had placed to the side. \n\n\"Do you trust me?\" Kennen said as he took Hailun's hand rather unexpectantly.\n\nHailun put both of the backs on his back. \"Yeah, why?\"\n\n\"Alright, close your eyes…I'm going to take you on the ride of your life.\" Kennen said as he waited for the cub to cooperate.\n\nHailun had no idea what the other boy had in mind but he closed his eyes all the same. Kennen took hold of him and began to channel his energy. Wrapping himself around the other cub, he focused all of his efforts on charging up. A rush of tingling coursed through Hailun's body. Seconds later they bolted forward, a blazing streaking of blue light flowing through the otherwise clear skies above. Kennen and Hailun bolted at uncanny speeds. Within seconds the two were at the red panda home,\n coming to a stop at once. The sensation of energy inside Hailun died out once they stopped.\n\n\"Okay, we're here…\" Kennen said panting and huffing.\n\nOpening his eyes he saw that Kennen was bent over seeming to have exerted himself. \"Are you alright?\"\n\n\"Yeah, I just need a moment to recover. I usually don't travel with other people.\" The bigger cub tried to appear strong as if he didn't need help but it had taken a lot out of him.\n\nA second later the boy passed out on the ground in front of Hailun. \"Kennen?\"\n\nHailun bent over and nudged the boy a few times. It was apparent he was still breathing but he was completely out of it. He unlocked the door and went inside to find one of his parents. After explaining what had happened, his father came out to examine the situation. The older red panda picked the small cub up with little effort and carried him inside.\n\n\"Will he be alright?\" Hailun couldn't help but be worried. \n\nThe man looked down at his son. \"He should be fine, don't worry. I'll let his parents know he's here.\"\n\n\"Can he stay here with us?\" The red panda boy sounded hopeful.\n\nThe older red panda continued down the hall. \"Of course, if that's what his parents want after all it's their decision, not mine.\"\n\n\"Cool, thanks, dad. He's a good friend of mine.\" Hailun still avoided calling him his boyfriend in front of his parents.\n\nThey walked back to the living room and the man set Kennen on the couch. The cub was sweating visibly.\n\n\"He's going to have to do without a shower for a bit. He will need to stay here for now until I figure out what his parents want me to do.\" The man stroked his son's head fur.\n\nHailun sighed and pulled up a chair next to Kennen. \"Sorry I was late…we lost track of time.\"\n\n\"It's alright, kiddo. You weren't that late anyways. Do you want something to eat?\" The boy's father assumed he hadn't eaten yet.\n\nThe cub looked over at his father. \"I guess but what about Kennen?\"\n\n\"Heh, well I'm not sure he's in any condition to eat right now but I can bring something for him in case he wakes up.\" The man smirked a bit as he walked away.\n\nHailun took Kennen's paw in his own. \"Why'd you have to go and do that? You could have hurt yourself.\"\n\nThe red panda boy watched his friend breathe softly on the bed. He seemed peaceful despite the beads of sweat running from his forehead and across his body. It wasn't much longer before the boy's father reappeared with a single plate of food in his hand. \n\n\"His parents are going to come to pick him up. They won't be long.\" The man handed his son the plate, noticing he was holding the boy's hand.\n\nHailun looked up with a frown on his face, meekly taking the plate from him. \"Alright.\"\n\n\"He'll be fine I promise…He's just tired.\" The father sat down on the spare chair to the side of the two boys, just watching them.\n\nThe red panda didn't eat, remaining still for a few moments until there was a knock at the door. The father got up as his son didn't seem to have budged. The father opened the door and was greeted by a female brown yordle. The two had a short discussion before he reappeared a few moments later with Kennen's mother at his side. \n\n\"You must be Hailun? I've heard quite a lot about you.\" She walked up to the red panda boy's side and kneeled next to him.\n\nThe cub looked over at her with sullen eyes. \"Yeah, I am Hailun.\"\n\nThe mother peered over at her son coaxing her hand over his form, touching him for a moment. \"Looks like he overdid it again.\"\n\nHailun tried to hold back the tears as his eyes watered up a bit. \"Will he be alright?\"\n\n\"Yeah, he just needs rest. Just like you need your food.\" She poked the boy in the stomach playfully.\n\nThe boy forced a smile. \"Yeah, I know.\"\n\n\"I tell you what…if you promise to eat your food I will let you come over tomorrow and hang out with him. I'd like to get to know you better. If that's alright with your father.\" She picked up the boy on the couch effortlessly and cradled him in her arms.\n\nHailun nodded and sniffled. \"Okay, I would like that.\"\n\n\"Alright but…I'm going to make sure you ate your food. Deal?\" She didn't seem burdened by the weight she was carrying.\n\nThe cub didn't wait any longer and began digging in, clearly incentivized by her promise. \n\n\"Good boy. I will see you tomorrow then. Good night you two.\" Kennen's mother made her way out of the door and back into the open.\n\nHailun's father shut the door behind them and walked back over to his son. \"Maybe it's time we have a talk.\"\n\n\"I'm not in trouble am I?\" The boy stopped eating and looked up at his father.\n\nThe man shook his head. \"Nah, go take a shower and get ready for bed. Your mother and I will meet you in your room in a bit.\"\n\nHailun wasn't sure what to make of the request but knew he wasn't in a position to decline the request. His father had left his side, leaving him alone. The cub wiped his eyes before he continued working through the meal. The entire time his mind was wafting between Kennen's well-being and what his parents wanted to talk about. It wasn't much longer until he finished his meal, finally getting up to head toward the kitchen and clean his plate.\n\nHailun felt a little better now that his stomach was empty. He padded back to his room and grabbed a set of pajamas before making his way to the bathroom. The cub didn't spend as much time as usual in the shower as he was worried about the topic of the conversation more than anything. The concern dominated his mind and was making him anxious. Once he had bathed he changed into his pajamas and disposed of his dirty clothes in the hamper.\n\nBack in his room, he crawled into his bed and looked out the window. He began to think about Kennen again as he stared at the stars, hoping that he was alright.\n\n\"Hey, little guy. We're here. Can you turn around?\" The boy's mother beckoned to him from behind.\n\nHailun turned around, continuing to sit up in his bed. \"Sure, what's up?\"\n\n\"So, we want to talk about your friendship with Kennen. Are you comfortable with that?\" The cub's father wasn't sure how secure he was about the ordeal.\n\nThe cub shrugged. \"Yeah, he's one of my best friends. What about him?\"\n\n\"Well, you're getting older now and we're noticing you're rather close to him. Are you sure it's not more than that?\" Both of the cub's parents were pretty sure it was the case but just wanted him to admit it.\n\nHailun looked at the floor and didn't say anything as if he was slightly ashamed about it.\n\nHis mother eased forward and stroked his back. \"Look, you're old enough to make your own decisions, and if you like him more than a friend that's fine. We just want you to be honest about it with us.\"\n\nThe boy looked back up, his face lighting up a bit. \"Really? You guys don't care that we're both boys?\"\n\n\"Nah, who cares. As long as you're happy and he's happy that's all that matters, right?\" His father smiled warmly at him.\n\nHailun leaned forward and hugged his mother. \"Thank you…\"\n\n\"So, I guess we were right then?\" His mother whispered loud enough so all of them could hear.\n\nThe boy pulled away slowly. \"Uh-huh. We're boyfriends. I like him a lot.\"\n\n\"That's good. That's all we wanted to hear. The coach soon set a ball at the center of the field, expecting them to get underway on their own.\n\nKennen acted as the forward and stood at the center of the field. \tIt was now the weekend and the Rift Gala had come to a close. Hailun had woken up early as he had promised Teemo earlier in the week that he would attend the Junior Bandle Scouts meeting. After all, he had missed it last week because he had forgotten about it. He wasn't about to let his friend down again, especially after how much he had helped Kennen out, even if he wasn't fully aware of the extent of his involvement.

\tHailun hopped out of bed ad looked at the Crystal Rose garments hanging on a hanger by the door. He still hadn't returned the formal wear as it wasn't supposed to be returned until Monday and he hadn't had time yet. Looking at it made him think about the other night with Kennen and made him feel a bit nostalgic about them. He couldn't help but smile, wondering what the other boy might be up to today. Still, he knew he made a promise to Teemo and figured he could hang out with his boyfriend another day.

\tThe red panda stretched and yawned as he tried to kick the feeling of being lazy. It wasn't usual that he got out of bed early on weekends. He rifled through his wardrobe and found something casual to wear as he wasn't sure what the dress code was for a scout's meeting. He didn't spend much time looking for anything in particular. Deciding on a graphic t-shirt and some jean shorts, along with some old grey socks and tennis shoes. Hailun rather liked wearing casual stuff since it wasn't often he got to do it since the school required uniforms.

\tHe changed out of his pajamas and into his casual clothes. Looking in the mirror to make sure he wasn't missing anything. He grabbed a hat and put it on his head. Hailun's stomach rumbled reminding him that he needed to eat breakfast. Making his way to the kitchen, he saw his mother who seemed distracted with something else so he didn't bother her. Hailun was old enough to know how to handle himself and so it didn't bother him when either of his parents was busy.

\tHailun made himself some oatmeal and fruit since it was an easy choice. Mixing it in before cooking it on the stove. It took a few minutes before it was ready. His stomach rumbled again as he was waiting, getting eager to eat it. It wasn't much longer before it was ready. Delivering it from the hot pot to a bowl. Wasting no time in blowing into it, causing some steam to rise. Diving in without delay as he enjoyed the taste in his maw.

\tOnce he was done with his food, he made a quick cleanup routine before checking in with his parents one more time. They were talking about something but had stopped when he entered.

"I'm going to go to the Junior Bandle Scouts meeting. I promised a friend I'd go."

The mother nodded. "Have fun, kiddo."

Hailun couldn't help but something was up but decided it was something he probably shouldn't bug them about. He figured they would share it with him if it was important enough. Sliding on some socks and shoes, he made his way outside. Looking beyond his front yard Hailun could see that it was nice outside. Only a few clouds were in the sky and the sun was burning bright. He began making his way to the school.

On his way, there weren't many other yordles about.  He figured because it was a weekend that many people weren't out and about. It wasn't until he passed by the market that he saw some other people. He waved to Gnar who has passed by with his parents but the smaller cub was being dragged by his parents, seemingly to purchase whatever good they needed. Hailun made haste as he wasn't sure what time the meeting started and he didn't want to disappoint Teemo by being late.

\tHailun arrived at the school before long. He could see other yordles hanging around the front of it. Most of them appeared to be kids or teens but there was one of them that appeared to be an adult. He approached them and was greeted by the Scout Master.

"Oh, hallo. Are you a new recruit?" The woman welcomed him with open arms.

Teemo noticed that Hailun had shown up and showed himself. "Oh, yeah. That's Hailun. I invited him to come."

"Most definitely. We could always use new scouts. As you can see our numbers are rather thin but that does not make the experience any less meaningful." The grey-furred yordle reached her hand into her pocket for something.

Hailun looked around and noticed all the cubs and teens were wearing the same khaki uniform top and slacks. Some of them had badges adorned on a sash over their chest but Teemo had a surprising amount on his own.

"Thanks for coming dude." Teemo said with a smile.

Hailun nodded. "Thanks for inviting me."

"Today is kind of low-key. Sometimes we go camping and stuff today but today is just community service. We're going to go help people in need." Teemo puffed out his chest seeming proud of the prospect.

The red panda smiled. "That sounds cool. I don't mind helping people out."

The woman found what she was looking for. A small silver pin with the insignia of the scouts on it. Walking over to Hailun and fastening it to his shirt.

"Since you don't have a uniform. You can use this today but try and get a uniform if you decide to join and come again." She said before easing herself back.

Hailun attempted to give the same scout salute that Teemo had shown him the other day. "Yes, ma'am."

"Very good. Well then. As Teemo mentioned today we are doing charity work. Your job is to help at least two people out. It doesn't matter the task as long as they ask for your help or you otherwise think they are in need. You may work in pairs. So while we're heading to town, pick your partners. We'll head out in a bit." She said before going over to collect a bag and packing it with provisions.

Hailun was certain Teemo would have a partner but decided to ask him anyways. "Wanna be my partner?"

"Sure, bud. Rumble can handle himself anyways. He's usually my partner." Teemo hadn't seen Rumble around anyways.

The red panda smiled. "Cool, thanks."

"Alright, scouts. Let's head to town. Make it snappy. Chop-Chop!" She motioned her paw forward to indicate she meant business.

Teemo motioned for Hailun to follow him. "Hope you have fun today."

"I'm sure I will." Hailun still wasn't certain what the group was about.

Teemo and his friend continued to chat as they walked back toward the center of Bandle City.

"Thanks for the tickets to the Rift Gala by the way." Hailun wanted to make sure he had thanked his friend.

The smaller cub smiled. "It's cool. Did you guys have fun?"

"Yeah, it was super cool to dance with Kennen and stuff. He was handsome...." The bigger boy daydreamed a bit about what the other boy looked like the other day.

Teemo snapped his finger before nudging him a bit. "Earth to Hailun, haha."

"Sorry. I didn't mean to daydream." Hailun blushed a bit.

The smaller yordle put his arm behind the other cub's back. "It's cool. I was the same way when I first met Tristana so I understand."

"Yeah? What's is she like?" Hailun wanted to take interest in his friend's relationship as well.

Teemo winked. "She's pretty neat. She used to be in scouts. That's how we met. Now we hang out more than ever before."

"That's cool. As long as you guys are happy that's all that matters." Hailun continued to follow Teemo into town.

The smaller yordle grinned a bit. "Yeah, maybe one day you guys can hang out with us again. She enjoyed it."

"Oh? That's cool. I'll ask Kennen, I'm sure he'll be game. Hailun was getting a bit giddy thinking about going on another date with Kennen.

Teemo gave a thumbs up. "Cool. Well if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask alright?"

"Thanks, Teemo. I'm still figuring out this whole relationship thing. I just want to make sure I don't mess it up." The red panda rubbed the back of his head.

The two continued to walk until they were in the main part of town. It was getting much busier than when Hailun had walked through it before. The red panda had no idea what to look for. Helping out people were fine but he'd never actually gone and looked for someone who needed help before. So he continued to follow Teemo in hopes the other cub would know better than he did. It wasn't long before they happened upon a woman who seemed to be looking for something.

"What's wrong ma'am? Can we be of any help?" Teemo asked as he had a keen sense of picking up people's needs by their facial features.

She looked at Teemo, examining his uniform. "Oh, good. A scout. Sonny, my dog has gone missing. Please find him! He's a black lab." She said as she showed off a folded image of it.

Hailun grabbed it and looked at it. "We can help. Where did you see it last?"

"He went missing over at the grand pathway but he usually goes to people's lawns and lounges about. This isn't the first time he's done this." She was still concerned as the dog was rather old.

"Teemo gave a thumbs up. "We'll find him. No worries. The scouts are reporting for duty." The smaller cub gave a scouts salute.

Hailun handed back the picture and began to look for the dog. He imagined it wouldn't be hard to find but he know where to start.

"Alright, I'll cover the west part of town. You get the east. Fair? Teemo figured it would be easier to split things up.

Hailun nodded and trailed off to the east side of town. He began panning his ears around in hopes of hearing a bark or something that might give off the dog's location. The red panda cub looked around every nook and cranny, thinking that eventually would happen to the dog. He continued looking for half an hour until he overheard some laughing. Hailun figured it was some kids playing but decided to check it out anyways.

Looking around the corner he saw some kids cornering what looked to be the black lab. They were crowding around it yelling at it. The dog was hunkered up in its hind legs, seeming very much afraid. From the looks of it, they appeared to be bullying the dog. Hailun quickly rushed in to help the dog out.
 Approaching it he saw the kids were rather small. He grabbed them both by the neck of their shirts, turning them around.

"Beat it." Hailun warned them.

Both of the smaller yordle children broke out of his grasp and ran away. Hailun walked up to the dog and tried to console it.  The red panda stroked the dog a few times trying to comfort the scared beast. Eventually, the thing warmed up to him and licked his face. Hailun coaxed the beast to follow him before making their way back to the main part of town. He called out to Teemo to see if he could find where the other cub had gone.

Teemo heard the calling and listened for it. Returning to the source of it before long. He saw his friend with the dog.

"Oh, nice job dude. You'll make a good scout yet. Where did you find it?" He asked before patting the other boy on the back.

Hailun frowned. "Some younger kids were giving it a hard time but it doesn't look like it was hurt." The bigger boy leaned down to stroke the dog again.

"Ah, that sucks. Come on...let's go take the dog back to its owner." Teemo suggested so they could start the next task.

The two made their way back to the woman who was still looking outside for the dog. The dog ran to her without delay upon seeing her. A tear came to her eyes.

"Thank you, boys." She began to pet the dog, hugging it.

Teemo gave a thumbs up. "Another job well done. Come on Hailun, let's look around for another."

Teemo and Hailun continued to go around doing small bits and tasks for people. When everything was said and done the scout troop met back at the school. Hailun was given his first badge and the entirety of the troop clapped for him. The Junior Bandle Scouts never met for full days on weekends. When they were dismissed, the red panda thought about getting some lunch as he was a bit hungry. He departed from Teemo and decided to go about on his way out of the school.

Hailun figured he'd have to go home for lunch. He hadn't brought any money. The boy cupped his hand looking at it. The cub was glad he had gone to the meeting and was looking forward to getting his uniform as he thought the garments looked good. After mentioning it to his parents, they were more than glad to oblige as it would give him something to do. Even going as far as to take him to the scout supply store the next day.

The rest of his weekend was low-key. He found he missed Kennen a bit it made him look forward to Monday a bit more than usual. When the familiar alarm to get up in the morning for school sounded, he got up out of bed rather quickly. He couldn't wait to see his friends, especially his special ones. He wondered what Kennen had done on the weekend and looked forward to sharing his experience with the Scouts.

Hailun got ready for school and made his way to the kitchen. He knew his parents had already left for the morning as they had mentioned the previous day. He decided to stick to something simple and picked a bowl of granola and fruit. He rushed through his breakfast rather quickly and didn't bother making any lunch since he didn't mind the school food. Feeling he was ready, he rushed out the door and locked it behind him.

Hailun arrived at Bandle Academy before long. The day was bright with a few clouds in the sky. A light breeze carried some cool wind through the area. It was getting cooler as the climate was beginning to change. The chill didn't bother him so much as his fur more than protected him from the temperature. Making his way toward the building, he began to see who he could find that he knew. It was early so he wasn't sure who was around.

Eventually, he found Poppy hanging around under the big oak tree in front of the school. He waved to her as he made his way toward her.

"Hey, Poppy. Have a nice weekend?" He asked her once he was within a more personal distance from her.

She nodded and leaned her back against the tree. "Yeah, how about you?"

"It was good. Do anything exciting?" The red panda asked his friend.

The bigger girl shrugged. "Naw, how was the dance? I heard it went well."

"It was good. I had a lot of fun. Kennen looked handsome in his Crystal Rose suit." The boy began to think about it a bit, daydreaming again.

Poppy tapped him on the shoulder. "Oh yeah? Well, I'm glad he showed up. I wasn't sure he would."

"Guess what?" The smaller boy looked back over at her.

The staunch girl looked at him expectantly. "Hmm?"

He asked me to be his boyfriend and I said yes." Hailun blushed a bit.

Poppy smiled a bit. "Ah, that's good. I'm sure you guys will make a good couple."

"I hope I can make him happy." The boy was still a little worried he wouldn't meet the other boy's needs.

The bigger girl readjusted her backpack. "I'm sure it will be fine. Besides…it's not like he's had a relationship before either so it's new to both of you. Just do your best."

"Thanks, where is he at anyways? Have you seen him around?" Hailun looked around to see if he could spot the other boy.

Poppy pointed towards the school. "He has Kendo practice in the morning sometimes. You should go check it out. It's in the recreation area of the school."

"Cool, thanks again. See you later, Poppy." Hailun waved to her and made his way toward the school.

The red panda made his way into the building, passing by some of his friends. Amumu and Rumble waved to him as he passed by. The two still hanging around with each other. Hailun was glad it had worked out for the green yordle. He decided he would check in on Amumu later. For now, all Hailun wanted to do was catch up with Kennen and see how he was doing. He continued to walk quickly towards the recreation area of the school.

The recreation area of the school was by all means a makeshift gym. An open area with multi-level bleachers on both sides of the court. A lacquered wooden floor served as the event foreground. The place was used for sporting events, though the school didn't have many teams. The few teams they did have were intermural, competing which each other but focused more on cooperation than competition. Though there were more than enough chances for the students to prove their worth if they so wished to partake in a sport, regardless of what it was.

Hailun made his way into the recreation area. A large blue matt had been set up over the wooden floor. Entering it he could hear the battering of wood against each other. Constant whacking and the muffled sound of foam and rubber being hit occasionally. The red panda stopped for a second to see what was going on. Young yordle were adorned in full-length body robes with their faces protected by a mask that covered their face. Two cubs were at the center of the ring. Looking at them, Hailun couldn't be certain who they were.

Hailun made his way to the bleachers and saw down. He decided to watch even if he wasn't sure which one was Kennen as even the participants on the sidelines were wearing masks. The two cubs at the center of the ring were sparring with each other. One grey yordle with a longer wooden blade resembling the katanas of Ionia. The other was a brown yordle who wielded two kunai's one in each paw. Despite the difference in the size of the weapons the brown yordle continued to hold its own.

Hailun continued to watch the two as they continued to bash against each other. With each blow attempted by the grey yordle, their slash was met by the riposte of the other cub. The brown one continued to be on the defensive. Then all at once, the brown yordle rushed forward just as their ripost was landed. The other cub's blade was deflected strong enough to give an opening. The brown yordle holding up the wooden tip of the kunai to the other yordle's chest.

"Game set and match." The referee announced as the sparring match came to an end.

Hailun watched as the two combatants shook paws. The rest of the yordles, who were watching, had begun to walk away.  It was apparent the event was over, so the boy got up from the bleachers. He noticed that the brown yordle had stopped in their tracks and was looking his way. The red panda continued to walk toward them, something in him told him it was Kennen. Before long the brown yordle took off their mask and ran forward.

Kennen smiled and hugged the other boy once they were at a more personal distance from each other.

"Hey, dude. I missed you." The bigger boy squeezed his boyfriend tightly.

Hailun returned the hug with one of his own. Pushing his body against the bigger boy, the red panda took a few inadvertent sniffs of the other boy's neck. He could smell something different, a slightly pungent odor emanating from the boy. The smaller boy was finding it to be somewhat appealing to him, pushing his wet nose against the bigger boy's neck and taking a longer sniff.

"Hey…that tickles." Kennen chuckled a bit.

The smaller cub pulled back a bit. "You smell nice."

"I do? But I've been practicing all morning and I haven't had a chance to shower yet."  The bigger boy tried smelling himself but couldn't smell much of anything as he'd gotten used to it.

"Yeah, you do. You were really good out there. You beat the other cub." Hailun patted the back of the other boy.

Kennen blushed a bit. "Thanks. You should try it out. I think you would be good to have on the team."

"Oh? Are there tryouts or something?" Hailun had never been on a sports team before.

The bigger boy shook his head. "Nah, just come on Wednesday. The practice starts at 7. Just show up early to register. It would be cool to have you."

"Alright sounds good. I'll plan on it. How was your weekend?" Hailun asked as they began to walk together.

The two boyfriends made their way to the changing room. "It was alright. Kind of boring. I missed you, though."

"I missed you too. I had a lot of fun at the dance with you." The red panda put his arm over the other cub's shoulder.

Kennen sighed. "Me too, I just wish I had come earlier than
 I did."

"It's okay. I had fun even if it was just one dance…"  Hailun didn't want the bigger boy to feel guilty.

The brown yordle stopped his friend for a second and turned him around so they were looking into each other's eyes. Kennen planted a kiss square on the boy's lips, not seeming worried about anyone seeing them anymore. The two remained for a few seconds before separating, both cub's faces flush red as they stood there in silence.

"I need to go take a shower…I'll see you later alright? I'm gonna try to talk to administration later about changing my schedule back. We should still be careful in case they see, you know?" Kennen wasn't sure they would change his schedule back.

Hailun nodded. "Okay. Maybe we can get someone to help us."

"I'll figure it out. Don't worry…if nothing else we can just hang out after class or whenever we have free time." The brown yordle scratched the back of his head.

The red panda waved. "Alright, see you later."

The two separated for the time being. Hailun made his way back into the halls to get ready for class. The cub made his way to the survival class and waited outside the door. He stood next to Teemo who was still chatting away with Tristana. The red panda hoped Teemo wouldn't mind if he joined him again for the class. He tried not to listen to their conversation as he was certain they wanted privacy, so he just tuned them out.

The bell rang before long and Teemo waved to Tristana who made her way to class. Finally realizing that Hailun was right next to him.

"Oh, hey. Sorry, I didn't notice you." Teemo began walking into the class with the other cub right behind him.

Hailun shrugged. "It's alright. I didn't want to bug you and Tristana."

They made their way toward the front of the class. This was one of the few classes that Teemo liked so he didn't mind sitting in front. The familiar instructor of the survival class showed up before long beginning their instruction. Today's lesson was a rather overloaded one, a so-called test of what they had learned. They were expected to create a survival kit of whatever they believed would be necessary to make it through a few days if they were lost.

Teemo saw this as an opportunity to shine. He always brought his scout supplies with him and began rifling through his bag to find them.

"Alright, I will take care of the equipment. Go find some safe-to-eat berries and clean water and we should be good." Teemo instructed his friend while he began to pile things on the desk.

Hailun went outside and began searching for some bushes. Teemo had taught him the other day how to gauge fruits and so he felt confident that he could figure it out without much of an issue. Looking up at the sky it was clear out today with not many clouds in the sky. The winds were brisk with a cool breeze it brushed against his fur. He looked around at the other cubs to see what they were gathering but decided to keep to himself.

Eventually, he found what he considered to be enough berries and headed back inside. Teemo nodded before grabbing them from him. Hailun saw that he had grabbed enough supplies and took a water skin from his friend. He returned outside and contemplated the best choice for freshwater. He didn't have anything to boil it unless he stoked a fire. Deciding instead to go to a local stream that was famed for its fresh water.

He arrived at the river and saw that Vex was doing the same. The girl was staring at him, though he wasn't sure why. The cub began collecting the water and noticed she was approaching him.

"I trust your friend is better now?" She asked, folding her arms.

Hailun looked over her. "Who? Kennen? Yeah, he's better now."

"That's good. I was worried he wouldn't recover." The girl sighed in relief.

The red panda didn't know the entirety of what happened. "How come?"

"Because Veigar is a jerk and was messing with him but he's sworn he's going to stop." The grey yordle seemed a bit disappointed.

Hailun murmured a bit. "Right, well no need in dwelling on previous issues I suppose."

"Oh? You're not upset?" She seemed surprised the boy wasn't vindictive.

The bigger boy shook his head. "Revenge will accomplish nothing."

"A lesson well heard. Well, I assure you it will not happen again." Vex was set on changing Veigar's ways.

Hailun nodded. "I will hold you to your word."

"Is there nothing I can do to make it up to you?" The grey yordle still wanted to set things right.

The red panda hummed. "Maybe one day but not for now."

"Alright, just let me know." She held her paw out in a gesture of agreement.

Hailun shook her paw and finished grabbing water before heading back to the class and returning to Teemo. The two boys continued to work diligently until their work was done. When the instructor came around to check their progress, they were given a thumbs-up. It didn't seem like there was any formal grade for the assignment but still, they were satisfied with making it through it. Teemo and Hailun gave each other a high four when the task was recognized as complete.

It wasn't much longer before the bell rang signaling the end of class. Hailun walked out with Teemo before waving to him. Heading down the hall, he saw Kennen hanging out with Poppy. The two waved him over in an attempt to get him to join them. Looking at Kennen, it appeared he had changed clothing and was back in his school uniform.

"Hey, Hailun. I was thinking, maybe one day this week we could try the date thing alone this time." Kennen suggested as he was trying to be a bit romantic with the other cub.

The red panda nodded his head eagerly, his tail wagging behind him. "Yeah, I would like that. What did you have in mind?"

"The starlight cinema. Do you know that outdoor theater they have once a week? It's on Thursday and they are showing the Trials of Mount Targon." Kennen had heard of the place before but had never been there before.

Hailun smiled widely. "I wouldn't mind spending some more time with you."

"Aw, such a cute couple." Poppy couldn't help but make the snide comment.

Kennen pushed his shoulder into her. "Hush…So, yeah do you want to come?"

"Yeah, I do. I'll ask my parents later." The red panda figured they would be alright with it.

The bigger boy hugged the smaller one for a moment. Hailun found he didn't smell quite as strong as before. The two separated the hug before long.

"See I told you, Kennen." Poppy crossed her arms expectantly.

The bigger boy rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

Hailun couldn't help but be curious. "About what?"

"That you and he would end up as boyfriend.," Poppy smirked widely.

Kennen shoved his shoulder into the girl again. "Hush…"

"Oh, stop. You know you like it when I tease you." The girl pushed him back.

Hailun chuckled a bit. "You guys are funny."

"I'll see you at lunch alright, Hailun?" Kennen said suggesting they could hang out later.

The red panda nodded. "Yeah, sure. You can sit with Gnar and me if you like."

"Sounds good…I still need to apologize to him for the other day anyways." The bigger boy ground one of his feet into the floor.

Hailun shrugged. "He knows, I think anyways. He'll be fine with you. Don't worry."

"Alright, see you later." Kennen leaned in and kissed Hailun on the cheek.

Once they were separated, Poppy whispered into Kennen's ears making the bigger boy blush. Hailun couldn't help but wonder what she said but supposed it was secret. The red panda waved before making his way to the next class. He saw Amumu waiting for him in the front row as always.

"Hey, dude. How did it go?" Hailun tried to remain optimistic with the other cub but found it to be hard sometimes.

Amumu nodded. "It went well. He wants to go out again."

"That's good. Did you guys enjoy the dance?" The red panda had seen the other two dance but he wanted to be sure.

The green yordle nodded. "Yeah, he wasn't very good at dancing though."

"You can show him then." Hailun remembered the other boy had taught him how to dance.

The smaller boy shrugged. "He doesn't want me to."

"His loss then. You're pretty good at it." The bigger cub touched the other yordle on the shoulder.

Amumu smiled at the other cub. "How about yours?"

"It went well, Kennen and I had a nice time." Hailun turned his head forward as the class started anew.

The instructor didn't show up on time. The cubs began to grow restless before long. Moments later, the door opened and old Heimerdinger from Piltover made his way in.

"Greetings, student's today we will be making an invention. Your task is to make a hextech gear. You will be provided with the materials and a blueprint. There are no other restrictions. Let your imaginations go wild." The older man threw up his arms as if he was excited about the task.

The grey-haired yordle passed out the stuff to each of the desks. Amumu and Hailun got their stuff and started without delay. The small paper they were given didn't provide much guidance. Hailun looked over at Amumu who looked just as confused as he was. They began trying to fit together parts randomly but none of them seemed to fit. Amumu held one of them close to his eyes to determine if they had any labeling.

Looking at it, he couldn't determine any distinguishing marks on it. Hailun tried reading the blueprints but the only thing on it was the design of the supposed gear they were supposed to make. He held up the paper to the light, expecting some secret to be revealed, and yet there was nothing unordinary about it.

"So…how are we supposed to put this together?" Hailun couldn't help but ask out loud.

Heimerdinger held up a single finger. "Such is the delight of discovery. Try and try again until you find a way. Then the purpose shall be revealed to you."

"That's not helpful…" Amumu murmured to himself.

Hailun looked at the parts again and laid them next to each other. Just as he had separated them, the metallic parts
 attracted against each other as if they had a magnet. First two parts and then a third. It was as if the thing was assembling itself. It then became more apparent what they had to do. If they could find the magnets that matched, then the machine would assemble itself. Hailun's face lit up as he figured it out. Holding a part near Amumu's hand to see if had figured it out.

Amumu had seen what Hailun had seen and followed suit. The two finished before long and showed off their part to the instructor. The older yordle gave both of them a pat on the back.

"Now see what you can make it do." Heimerdinger instructed them.

Hailun huffed as he thought he was done with the ordeal. Amumu tried rolling it around but the device fell flat on its back. The red panda picked it up before spinning it. The thing rotates a few times before remaining idle on its side. The green yordle picked it up and repeated it but neither of them seemed to be making progress. Then Hailun came up with an idea…throwing it up into the air causing it to spur off into the distance.

The teacher clapped at them, waiting for the rest of the class to finish. Hailun and Amumu had to go around to help people but once they figured it out it was simple enough. Heimerdinger thanked them for their help and rewarded them with a small trinket he had brought along with him. Hailun looked at it. They appeared to be small medallions. He put it around his neck and thanked the man. The two headed out of class once the bell rang.

When lunch finally rolled around Hailun made his way into the lunch room. He was eager to see Kennen again and his friends. He looked around and saw that Gnar was waving over to him. The red panda waved back to him and looked to see if he could see Kennen around. Yet there didn't seem to be any sign of him. He figured the other boy couldn't be far behind and decided to go through the line. He made his way through the line before grabbing himself something to eat.

Hailun then sat down next to Gnar who smiled widely at him. The orange yordle had crumbs on his cheeks from whatever he had been eating.

"Gnar, yada!" The smaller yordle didn't bother to stop eating and continued to stuff his face.

The red panda chuckled. "Hiya, Gnar."

The bigger boy continued to look occasionally around for Kennen. It wasn't for a few minutes until he saw him enter. Hailun stood up to signal for him to join them at the table. Kennen's face looked a bit glum and the other boy could tell.

"What's wrong?" Hailun asked before Kennen even had a chance to sit down.

Kennen looked at Gnar and back over to Hailun. "Are you sure you want to talk about it here?"

"I mean, it can't be that bad can it?" The red panda couldn't help but feel a bit concerned.

The brown yordle shrugged. "I dunno. I asked admin if they would change my schedule back and they would say no."

"Oh…how come?" Hailun frowned a bit.

Kennen sighed. "They said we are together but they don't want us in the same class together."

"Why? Teemo and Tristana are in a lot of the same classes together. That's not fair…" Hailun slumped in his chair.

The bigger cub sat down across from them. "I don't but I guess there isn't anything we can do about it."

"Aw, alright…well thanks for trying. Maybe I should go talk to them later?" The red panda wanted to help.

Kennen shook his head and began to eat the lunch he had brought. "Nah, they said don't bother."

"That stinks well…at least we can hang out between classes and at lunch, right?" Hailun wanted to try and be positive.

Gnar had just noticed that Kennen had joined them and was staring him down intently.

"Sorry about the other day, Gnar." The brown yordle held out his paw in an offer of appeasement.

The orange yordle chirped. "Oga lagga."

"Cool, thanks for trying to come to Hailun's rescue. He appreciates it and so do I." The bigger boy continued to work through his meal.

"Ovagarava." Gnar didn't seem too bothered by it.

The three of them continued chatting through lunch. Gnar's issue with Kennen seemingly been forgotten. The two went back to being friends as if nothing had ever happened between them. The rest of the day goes on like normal until the end of the day. At the end of school, Hailun decided to hang outside and wait for Kennen to see if he could catch the other boy before he left. Sure enough, the other cub showed up walking along the side of Poppy.

Hailun waved to him and both of them ended up coming over.

"Hey, Kennen. How were your classes today?" Hailun's tail wagged gently behind him.

The bigger boy smiled. "It was good. I missed being in classes with you though."

"Me too…I was thinking we could do something now that school is over."  The red panda just wanted to spend more time with the other cub.

"I'll leave you too love birds alone…see you later Kennen." Poppy showed herself out.

Kennen hummed. "Yeah, okay. I guess it would be fine if I get home before dinner so my parents don't get worried. Where do you want to go?"

"I was thinking we could go watch the sunset under the Bandle Tree. I've heard it's rather pretty." The smaller cub gritted his hands together as if he was a bit nervous about it.

The bigger boy nodded and took his boyfriend's hand in his own. "Okay, that sounds cool."

Hailun and Kennen continued walking hand in hand through the schoolyard. Only a few eyes attracted their way but the bigger cub didn't seem as bothered about it anymore. Passing by Teemo and Tristana, Teemo couldn't help but feel glad that Kennen had overcome the issue. The two continued to make their way to the Bandle Tree. The bandle tree was near the back of the school on the outskirts of town. As they walked away from the school itself, the area became thicker with trees and it was apparent the light didn't filter much into the area.

"So…how are we going to see the sunset if no light gets through this area of the woods?" Kennen asked as he was a bit curious about it.

Hailun looked over at him. "We'll climb. I'll help you."

The two arrived at the Bandle tree before long. Hailun was an avid climber who had grown up climbing the trees of Ionia. He stood at the base of the tree and cupped his paw.

"Go on and pull yourself up to the first set of branches." Hailun waited until Kennen was close enough and then tried helping him up.

Kennen was a bit heavier than he thought but he still managed to help him up to the next level of branches. Hailun pulled himself up as he had done so many times in the past. The two continued up the full height of the tree until they were at the peak of it. Both of them had worked up a bit of a sweat in climbing the tree. Hailun set down his bag on the back of the branch before sitting down on a thick branch that overlooked the entirety of the forest and patted the spot next to him for the other cub to do the same.

Kennen squeezed himself in next to the other cub. Hailun slung his arm over the other boy and pulled him in close. The sun was still out but it was already beginning to set. The light of its rays was becoming a darker hue of red and yellow as it descended into the horizon. The red panda nuzzled into his boyfriend, picking up a little bit of his scent with his nose.

"This is nice…" Hailun whispered into the other boy's ear.

The bigger boy looked into the other boy's eyes and kissed him deeply. The two shared a rather passionate kiss for several moments. Hailun's arms stroked and rubbed along the bigger boy's sides, enjoying his warmth against him. Kennen's arms stroked along the other cub's back, massaging it a bit as he motioned along the other boy's spine. They separated after a few moments, the two of them flush with red hues on their faces.

"Yeah, it's pretty out…thanks for inviting me. Wanna lay on me and relax a bit?" Kennen suggested that they could be a bit more comfortable in the small space.

Hailun slowly readjusted himself and stood up so that Kennen could center himself on the branch. He waited until Kennen had stopped moving and bent down, easing his body against the other boy so that he was laying right on top of the bigger cub. Once he had stopped moving, Hailun could feel Kennen's steady breathing as his chest caused him to rise and depress with each inhale and exhale.  Kennen's hand reached over his friend and began stroking Hailun's chest.

Hailun closed his eyes as he was rather comfortable in the spot he was sitting in.  Eventually, Kennen pushed up Hailun's shirt and continued stroking his belly. The bigger boy resting his eyes, his touch, eventually came to a stop. The two seemed to doze off a bit, as they were overly relaxed. When Hailun awoke again he found that the sun had already set. It was already dark out and he began to panic as he knew his parents would be upset with him.

"Wake up, Kennen. We fell asleep!" He reached back and shook the other boy to rouse him from his state of slumber.

It didn't take long for him to wake the other cub. Kennen's eyes grew wide as he just realized it was late as well.

"Oh…man. My parents are going to kill me!" The smaller boy said.

Hailun started grabbing the things they had placed to the side.

"Do you trust me?" Kennen said as he took Hailun's hand rather unexpectantly.

Hailun put both of the backs on his back. "Yeah, why?"

"Alright, close your eyes…I'm going to take you on the ride of your life." Kennen said as he waited for the cub to cooperate.

Hailun had no idea what the other boy had in mind but he closed his eyes all the same. Kennen took hold of him and began to channel his energy. Wrapping himself around the other cub, he focused all of his efforts on charging up. A rush of tingling coursed through Hailun's body. Seconds later they bolted forward, a blazing streaking of blue light flowing through the otherwise clear skies above. Kennen and Hailun bolted at uncanny speeds. Within seconds the two were at the red panda home,
 coming to a stop at once. The sensation of energy inside Hailun died out once they stopped.

"Okay, we're here…" Kennen said panting and huffing.

Opening his eyes he saw that Kennen was bent over seeming to have exerted himself. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I just need a moment to recover. I usually don't travel with other people." The bigger cub tried to appear strong as if he didn't need help but it had taken a lot out of him.

A second later the boy passed out on the ground in front of Hailun. "Kennen?"

Hailun bent over and nudged the boy a few times. It was apparent he was still breathing but he was completely out of it.  He unlocked the door and went inside to find one of his parents. After explaining what had happened, his father came out to examine the situation. The older red panda picked the small cub up with little effort and carried him inside.

"Will he be alright?" Hailun couldn't help but be worried.

The man looked down at his son. "He should be fine, don't worry. I'll let his parents know he's here."

"Can he stay here with us?" The red panda boy sounded hopeful.

The older red panda continued down the hall. "Of course, if that's what his parents want after all it's their decision, not mine."

"Cool, thanks, dad. He's a good friend of mine." Hailun still avoided calling him his boyfriend in front of his parents.

They walked back to the living room and the man set Kennen on the couch. The cub was sweating visibly.

"He's going to have to do without a shower for a bit. He will need to stay here for now until I figure out what his parents want me to do." The man stroked his son's head fur.

Hailun sighed and pulled up a chair next to Kennen. "Sorry I was late…we lost track of time."

"It's alright, kiddo. You weren't that late anyways. Do you want something to eat?" The boy's father assumed he hadn't eaten yet.

The cub looked over at his father. "I guess but what about Kennen?"

"Heh, well I'm not sure he's in any condition to eat right now but I can bring something for him in case he wakes up." The man smirked a bit as he walked away.

Hailun took Kennen's paw in his own. "Why'd you have to go and do that? You could have hurt yourself."

The red panda boy watched his friend breathe softly on the bed. He seemed peaceful despite the beads of sweat running from his forehead and across his body. It wasn't much longer before the boy's father reappeared with a single plate of food in his hand.

"His parents are going to come to pick him up. They won't be long." The man handed his son the plate, noticing he was holding the boy's hand.

Hailun looked up with a frown on his face, meekly taking the plate from him. "Alright."

"He'll be fine I promise…He's just tired." The father sat down on the spare chair to the side of the two boys, just watching them.

The red panda didn't eat, remaining still for a few moments until there was a knock at the door. The father got up as his son didn't seem to have budged. The father opened the door and was greeted by a female brown yordle. The two had a short discussion before he reappeared a few moments later with Kennen's mother at his side.

"You must be Hailun? I've heard quite a lot about you." She walked up to the red panda boy's side and kneeled next to him.

The cub looked over at her with sullen eyes. "Yeah, I am Hailun."

The mother peered over at her son coaxing her hand over his form, touching him for a moment. "Looks like he overdid it again."

Hailun tried to hold back the tears as his eyes watered up a bit. "Will he be alright?"

"Yeah, he just needs rest. Just like you need your food." She poked the boy in the stomach playfully.

The boy forced a smile. "Yeah, I know."

"I tell you what…if you promise to eat your food I will let you come over tomorrow and hang out with him. I'd like to get to know you better. If that's alright with your father." She picked up the boy on the couch effortlessly and cradled him in her arms.

Hailun nodded and sniffled. "Okay, I would like that."

"Alright but…I'm going to make sure you ate your food. Deal?" She didn't seem burdened by the weight she was carrying.

The cub didn't wait any longer and began digging in, clearly incentivized by her promise.

"Good boy. I will see you tomorrow then. Good night you two." Kennen's mother made her way out of the door and back into the open.

Hailun's father shut the door behind them and walked back over to his son. "Maybe it's time we have a talk."

"I'm not in trouble am I?" The boy stopped eating and looked up at his father.

The man shook his head. "Nah, go take a shower and get ready for bed. Your mother and I will meet you in your room in a bit."

Hailun wasn't sure what to make of the request but knew he wasn't in a position to decline the request. His father had left his side, leaving him alone. The cub wiped his eyes before he continued working through the meal. The entire time his mind was wafting between Kennen's well-being and what his parents wanted to talk about. It wasn't much longer until he finished his meal, finally getting up to head toward the kitchen and clean his plate.

Hailun felt a little better now that his stomach was empty. He padded back to his room and grabbed a set of pajamas before making his way to the bathroom. The cub didn't spend as much time as usual in the shower as he was worried about the topic of the conversation more than anything. The concern dominated his mind and was making him anxious. Once he had bathed he changed into his pajamas and disposed of his dirty clothes in the hamper.

Back in his room, he crawled into his bed and looked out the window. He began to think about Kennen again as he stared at the stars, hoping that he was alright.

"Hey, little guy. We're here. Can you turn around?" The boy's mother beckoned to him from behind.

Hailun turned around, continuing to sit up in his bed. "Sure, what's up?"

"So, we want to talk about your friendship with Kennen. Are you comfortable with that?" The cub's father wasn't sure how secure he was about the ordeal.

The cub shrugged. "Yeah, he's one of my best friends. What about him?"

"Well, you're getting older now and we're noticing you're rather close to him. Are you sure it's not more than that?" Both of the cub's parents were pretty sure it was the case but just wanted him to admit it.

Hailun looked at the floor and didn't say anything as if he was slightly ashamed about it.

His mother eased forward and stroked his back. "Look, you're old enough to make your own decisions, and if you like him more than a friend that's fine. We just want you to be honest about it with us."

The boy looked back up, his face lighting up a bit. "Really? You guys don't care that we're both boys?"

"Nah, who cares. As long as you're happy and he's happy that's all that matters, right?" His father smiled warmly at him.

Hailun leaned forward and hugged his mother. "Thank you…"

"So, I guess we were right then?" His mother whispered loud enough so all of them could hear.

The boy pulled away slowly. "Uh-huh. We're boyfriends. I like him a lot."

"That's good. That's all we wanted to hear. We're here to support you if you guys ever need anything alright?"  The boy's father stroked his head ruffling his fur a bit.

Hailun nodded. "Okay, thanks, mom and dad."

"Alright, lover boy…now get some sleep. You have a big day tomorrow." Both of them got up from the chair and left their son alone again.

Hailun looked back behind him out the window. He felt relieved the conversation had gone better than he thought. The cub began to think about Kennen again, yawning and stretching. It was a long day and he was tired. Slipping into bed and allowing his body to rest. It didn't take long before sleep took over him and his mind fell into the dream world.

The next day rolled around with the sounds of crows calling in the wild. Hailun rolled out of bed to the alert of his alarm going off. He hoped to see Kennen at school today but wasn't sure he would. The cub was looking forward to finally going to the other boy's house. He was a bit nervous but still wondering what it would be like. The boy began to change into his school uniform before he heard a knock at his bedroom door.

The boy's mother opened the door and greeted her son. "Good morning, breakfast will be waiting for you when you're ready. I know you are planning on going to Kennen's house today, so just make sure to be home after dinner, alright?"

"Okay, mom." Hailun finished arranging his uniform and grabbed his bag before heading past her.

The cub's tail was wagging casually behind him as he made his way into the kitchen. Stepping into it he saw two plates of food had been prepared with some waffles and fruit on them. He approached the table, wondering why two plates had been set up.

"There's someone here who wants to see you." The boy's mother called from the living room.

Hailun peeled back to the living room and saw Kennen standing there with his bag.

"Kennen! I was so worried about you…" The red panda raced forward and hugged the other cub.

The bigger boy stroked Hailun's back. "Sorry, my mom told me you were worried so I asked if we could have breakfast together."

"Please don't do that again…okay?" Hailun's eyes teared up a bit looking into the other cub's eyes.

Kennen returned the hug with one of his own. "Please don't cry. I hate to see you cry."

"Just promise me you won't do it again. I don't want to see you get hurt…" The smaller boy pled with his boyfriend.

The brown yordle whispered. "I promise. Come on…let's get some breakfast so we can go to school."

Hailun nodded and smiled at his mother who looked grinned back at him. "Thanks, Mom."

"For what? I didn't do anything. His mother insisted he come over. I couldn't turn her down after our talk last night." She walked over and stroked her son on the head.

The two cubs pulled apart from each other
 and walked back into the kitchen. Hailun pushed his chair as close as possible to Kennen's and the two started to eat. The cub's mother decides to leave them be for the time being.

"Are you feeling better today?" Hailun was still worried about his friend's well-being.

Kennen nodded. "Yeah, I just needed some rest. I kind of overdid it last night."

"I'm glad. I was worried about you." He reached over and stroked Kennen's hair and fur.

The brown yordle smiled over at him and kissed him on the cheek. "My parents said you are coming over tonight. It will be cool to have you. Maybe I can show you some of my stuff."

"That would be neat. I would like that. I've never been to your place before." The red panda began eating.

Kennen smiled and dug in as well. "Yeah, it will be fun."

"Hey, promise not to be mad?" Hailun figured he should share the conversation he had with his parents last night.

The bigger yordle shook his head. "Of course not."

"I told my parents about us last night. They sort of figured it out on their own so I had to tell them." The smaller boy rubbed his head as if he was disappointed in himself.

Kennen hesitated a moment. "Were they alright with it?"

"Yeah, otherwise you probably wouldn't have been to come today." Hailun drank some of his juice.

The two continued to eat until their meal was done. Kennen got up, to clean up the table when they were done. As they were about to leave back out the two cubs passed by Hailun's mother.

"Thank you for having me, ma'am. Breakfast was very good." Kennen bowed deeply.

She smiled at him. "You are most welcome any time. Especially my son's special guy."

"I promise he'll be home on time tonight." The brown yordle still felt bad about the other night.

The woman shrugged. "Don't worry about it so much. You two just have fun, alright?"

"Thanks, mom." Hailun hugged her before they made their way out of the home.

The two decided to hold hands again as they made their way to school.

"Do you have Kendo today? I was going to try out." Hailun said as they approached the building.

Kennen thought about it a second before answering. "Nah, that's every other day so…Monday, Wednesday, and Friday."

"Alright, I'll plan on trying out tomorrow then." The red panda thought the sport looked fun and sharing something with Kennen appealed to him.

The bigger boy gave a thumbs up. "Sounds good, dude."

The school day was mostly a normal one. They went about their days as they had since Kennen's schedule had been changed. Stopping by to see each other between classes. It wasn't until the end of the day that things changed. It was field day, which meant the cubs got the opportunity to have gym classes and compete with each other. Hailun and Kennen made their way to the gymnasium together and proceeded to the lockers.

They found some empty lockers and began undressing in front of each other without thinking much of it, as they had done it plenty of times in the past. Kennen looked over at the other cub as he was pulling off his shirt and poked his belly.

"Gotcha" Kennen stuck his tongue out playfully at the other cub.

Hailun smiled at the boy and continued to change out of his school uniform. Now in just his boxers, he stood there half-naked and began rifling through his bag. Kennen gazed at him again and contemplated depantsing him but figured that wouldn't be in the best of taste. Stripping himself as well as he worked his way out of his tight-fitting clothes. Kennen's body had slightly more form to it than Hailun's but both boys had relatively lithe forms.

When they had redressed themselves, they made their way out to the rear of the school. Clouds had gathered overheard and it was dark outside. It looked like it was going to storm and yet there was no indication of lightning or something else that could have been dangerous.

"Alright cubbies, today we're going to play soccer. Since everyone knows the rules, just number yourselves off and we'll set up the two fields for four sets of games as we did last time." The female coach spoke on her megaphone.

Hailun tugged on Kennen to make sure they were grouped on the same team. The two filed over to the far side of the field where some of the older yordle students had arranged themselves. Hailun saw Amumu and Rumble on the other team. He waved over at them but neither of the other boys noticed the gesture. The coach soon set a ball at the center of the field, expecting them to get underway on their own.

Kennen acted as the forward and stood at the center of the field. He took the faceoff and immediately passed the ball to Hailun who dribbled it around on his foot. Weaving back and forth through the crowd, making easy work of the other cubs. He passed it back to another boy who attempted a shot. The student who had set up as goalkeeper was able to defend off the shot with ease before passing the ball back into the field with their hands.

Hailun and Kennen backtracked a bit to play defense. Kennen knew it was cheating if he used his powers so he decided not to. Still, he was a pretty fast yordle and so he was able to catch up to the cub with the ball. Sliding into the girl, Kennen knocked the ball out of her possession and to Amumu. The green yordle kicked the ball forward to Rumble who launched the ball toward the net. The goalkeeper soared right past it as the ball went into the net.

Amumu and Rumble high fouring each other as the rest of the team cheered them on. Hailun helped Kennen up and clapped at his friend for a job well done. The game picked up again and the Kennen won another faceoff, trying to pass it off to Hailun again but was intercepted. The bigger cub grunted as his play had been picked off so easily. He raced forward trying to get the ball, making long enough strides to knock the ball out of the other player's possession.

Hailun took control of it and began kicking it forward. Amumu tackled him, a huge grin on his face as he took the other boy down. The green yordle still offering to help him up. Another member of Hailun's team scored as the two were distracted. The red panda patted his friend on the back before giving a high four to the member of the team who scored the goal. Just as the ball was being retrieved from the net, it began to rain.

The game continued all the same, even as the rainfall picked up. The field became a muddy terrain of gnarled-up grass and slick dirt. The cubs didn't much care about getting dirty. The whole lot of them slid and rolled around it when they tried to tackle one another. The rain cooled them off a bit as they worked up more of a sweat. When the game came to a close, the match ended up a tie.

The coach blew the whistle to signal for them to go inside and get ready to leave for the day, Kennen and Hailun walked next to each other with Amumu and rumbled right next to them.  All of them were covered in dirt and mud but did not seem bothered by it. When they were back in the locking room the two groups of boys went to opposite sides of the locker rooms. Kennen reached over at Hailun and brought him in for a noogie, ruffling his fur playfully.

"You played well today. " Kennen kept the other cub under his arm for a moment.

Hailun squirmed a bit. "Urf…no fair."
