Living, Training, Battling, and Evolving all have their challenges but can sometimes get mundane especially for the monsters who were kept at bay and lived inside their Pokeball for much of their life. Of course, there were more reasonable trainers who kept their Pokemon out and allowed them to travel outside their otherwise controlled world. However, it wasn't normal and sometimes even frowned upon depending on the setting. But for some, it didn't matter and their Pokemon's lives were often better.\n\n\tSammy was no new trainer. At 13 years of age, the boy had already been on his journey for the last 3 years. However, unlike many kids, who set out to become a Pokemon master, Sammy was more interested in learning the finer details of where he lived. As such he had been aspiring to take up the role of a Pokemon researcher. He had already worked for various Pokemon scientists across the realm, but mostly kept to himself when it kept to field work. Unlike most travelers, the boy only had one Pokemon.\n\n\tHis Pokemon was a single minun who he'd had since he began the journey. Sammy hadn't even captured the Pokemon legitimately. Sammy had found the Chipmunk Pokemon when he was just starting out. He lived near a power plant and the place was just teaming with electric Pokemon. On that day in the past, the boy was exploring the power plant looking for little gadgets to exploit. He found the Minun laying helplessly by one of the power cells outside of the plant itself. The plant had long been abandoned and no one was around to help it, so he took it upon himself to nurse the Chipmunk back up to health.\n\n\t After a few weeks of taking the Minun into his personal care, the Pokemon eventually grew to trust the boy. Sammy even became as affectionate to call his charge, Zap, since the Chipmunk often discharged small bolts of electricity throughout the length of its body. When it was fully healed, the beast showed no desire to leave. Even stranger was the fact that the minun had at least a basic vocalization ability beyond its own name. Over the years, the boy had taught the Pokemon to talk and very much considered his partners equal.\n\n\tIt had been 3 years and the 2 had become close friends. Sammy never made Zap go into a Pokeball and the Minun developed into his own little travel partner. The two always traversed side by side and whenever a task presented itself, the two worked together in order to solve it more quickly. One day Sammy received an email from Professor Rowan about a new type of ingredient that was being passed around to trainers for trial. The reward was a hefty one and involved actually going over to the local Pokemart in order to pick it up.\n\n\tSammy decided it was too good of an offer to pass up. After telling Zap about it, the boy and his Pokemon decided to stop their research on marine line in order to head to the Pokestop in hopes that there would be a store there. The journey to the stop wasn't incredibly far and took about 30 minutes before they arrived at what seemed to be Pastoria City. It was a small place situated by the water and the town didn't have that many residents.\n\n\tThe boy began to look around once they arrived at the entrance to the place. The signs placed around made the Pokemart an easy find. The red roof and Pokeball center overtop of it made it easy to distinguish, no matter where one was. Sammy led Zap inside and the storekeeper looked over at them a bit suspiciously.\n\n“Can I help you find something?” The lithe and tall woman in an apron, store polo, and skirt approached the smaller boy.\n\n“Well, I got an email from Professor Rowan about some experimental ingredient they want to try. I was wondering if you were given any?” Sammy looked up at the woman curiously.\n\n“Ah, yes. We received our shipment just recently. Come to the counter and fill out some paperwork, so you can receive your trial of the stuff.” The woman went back behind the counter and pulled out a small clipboard with a form set on top of it.\n\nSammy had never filled out anything before but the questions it asked were rather easy so he began to pen the answers as she pulled out a small wooden box and placed it on the counter.\n\n“So, there are a few things you need to know. First, this hasn't been tested before and there are no known side effects. Second, any side effects you notice please try to keep a note of it. Lastly, make sure to only give in small amounts. There are enough for 5 doses here. If you like the results...then you can come back for more later.” The woman finished reading the terms of the trial.\n\n“Alright, that sounds good. What about the reward?” After all the only thing the boy was interested in was the money.\n\n“Ah, yes. Of course. Here you are.” The woman handed the boy 5000 Pokedollars. \n\n“Thanks!” The boy took the cash and stuffed it in his pocket.\n\n“Don't forget your trial!”The storekeeper held out the small box expectantly.\n\n“Whoops, sorry!” Sammy returned to the counter and grabbed it.\n\n“Make sure to report your findings directly to Professor Rowan, alright?” The woman reminded the child.\n\n“Sure...see you later.” The boy made his way out of the store with his two prizes, wondering what he would spend the cash on.\n\nZap followed closely behind, somewhat curious what the trial item was. The box didn't give away any apparent hints and the Minun's innate sense of mischief wanted to try it. The chipmunk decided it would have to wait until his trainer gave it to him or until he could get it himself.\n\n\tThe two returned to the shores of Sinnoh where the rays of the sun cascaded over the sea. All sorts of Pokemon could be seen from Gyrados roping through the waters to Wingulls crescendoing in the sky. The two set camp near the hillside and made some lunch. The human always made himself a sandwich while the Pokemon preferred fruits and berries. Today's variety included Oran and Hondew berries. The minun munched away once they were placed in front of them.\n\n“Good berries, Zap?” Sammy asked his pet.\n\n“Yeah, thanks!” The minun stated with a full mouth.\n\n\tThe human couldn't help but laugh as he looked at his friend with his cheeks stuffed full.\n\n“You don't have to eat as if you haven't seen food before.”\tThe boy didn't want his friend to choke after all.\n\n“Sorry...” The Pokemon slowed down his insistent munching.\n\n“See? Isn't that better? You can enjoy your food longer.” The trainer began to nibble on his own sandwich.\n\n“Uhuh...” Zap tried to be polite but it wasn't always possible when it came to food.\n\n“Want a treat?” Sammy asked, knowing full well his friends answer.\n\nThe chipmunk simply nodded and continued munching away on the second berry in front of him. Samy threw him a small chunk of chocolate.\n\n“Your favorite.” The trainer knew full well what his friend liked.\n\nNot surprisingly, the Pokemon stopped what he was eating and almost immediately engulfed the small bar of chocolate.\n\n“Silly, boy.” Sammy couldn't help but laugh at the other boy.\n\n“What?” The minun's snout had chocolate all over it.\n\n“Here, let me help you.” The boy leaned over taking a rag to clean the chipmunk's face.\n\n“Oh, thanks.” Zap felt a bit embarrassed about his messy issue.\n\n“No, problem.” Sammy leaned back and then continued finishing his meal.\n\nOnce they had finished dining, Sammy couldn't help himself and went to take some more notes, hoping that he could find some elusive Pokemon in the distance.\n\t\n\tAfter Zap finished stuffing his face, he realized this was the opportunity he had been looking for. The minun got on all fours and began to crawl about in an attempt to find the little box he saw earlier. Once he was within distance of the boy's bag, he began to ransack through it. Most of the stuff was various sundries, from medication to bandages but nothing really that stood out. Eventually, he happened upon the little box from earlier. Zap looked over to see if Sammy suspected anything and sure enough there was no sign of his deeds being revealed.\n\n\tThe pokemon had an easy enough time popping the thing open since there was no safety mechanism. Inside the box were 5 very shiny red orbs. To Zap they appeared to be candy and he couldn't help but wonder how they might taste. But then he recalled from earlier that they were some sort of trial. Exactly what sort of trial was never shared so he wasn't certain of what it all meant. His stomach growled because the boy was always hungry. Figuring it couldn't hurt he took one out and closed the box back before popping it back into the bag.\n\n\tExamining the orb further and bringing it close to his eyes, it didn't appear to be candy. It had no scent and was slightly warm to the touch. The thing emanated red and pulsated every few seconds. Curiosity was getting the better of him and he tapped it with one of his fingers. It made a hollow sound and vibrated when it was touched. Suddenly it burned brightly and started to melt. The little orb began to shrink into a pool of red ooze as if it were dematerializing from the surrounding heat. The Pokemon's hand began to tingle as the stuff began to absorb into his skin.\n\n\tZap began to panic as he waved his paw around in an effort to get the liquid off of him. It was sticky and despite his best efforts, the slimy goo showed no signs of falling from his hand. However, when he checked to see if he had many any progress, he saw that it seemed to have been completely gone. Had he gotten rid of it or what happened to it? The question reigned in his mind as a slight tingling sensation buzzed in his hand. He looked at the paw and it didn't seem to be any different, at least to him.\t\t\n\n\tHe wasn't entirely sure what had just happened but the little red orb had all but dissipated. Zap couldn't ask about it either and was certain Sammy wouldn't know anyways. He figured it would be best to let the issue be. The minun picked himself up and walked over to where Sammy was figuring he needed something to take his mind off the issue.\n\n“Find anything new?” Zap asked trying to get involved in his friend's hobby.\n\n“Naw, it's pretty slow today. Just the usual stuff.” Sammy didn't seem to be disheartened about it.\n\n“We going to go somewhere else then?” The Minun asked, trying to be helpful.\n\n“We could do that. Did you have an idea?” The human looked over to his friend.\n\n“Well, just move to a different part of the beach? Maybe there's a cave nearby?” The Pokemon suggested as he figured it was a plausible location for a cave.\n\n“We could try that. Let me get our stuff together and we can go.” Sammy returned to the camp and collected their stuff so that they could leave.\n\nThe two gathered their things and began to traverse down the long stretch of the sandy beach. It was a warm day and the sun didn't offer much in the realm of respite.\n\n\tSammy led as if he knew where they were going but the reality was that he was just looking around. The human was just as hot as the Pokemon and wanted to cool off.\n\n“It's pretty hot out, maybe we could go for a swim?” Zap suggested as he was feeling overly exhausted from the heat.\n\n“Yeah, sure. It's not like we're having much luck in finding somewhere to hide from the sun.” Sammy wiped his forehead of the sweat that had collected there.\n\n“Cool, That sounds fun!” The Pokemon was very excited at the prospect of taking a load off, even if they hadn't been traveling all day.\n\nThe two set their things back down on the sand again. Zap didn't need an invitation and merely dumped his stuff on the floor without much thought. The Pokemon diving into the water as the cool water surrounded his body.\n\t\n\tBefore long Sammy stripped down to just his underwear and joined his friend in the water. The cool stretches of the ocean near the shore were perfect for them. Neither of them was that big and they could easily stand up on their two hind legs. Of course, Zap had to stand closer to the coast than his friend did. As the trainer approached his friend, he saw some of the water sizzling from the electric discharge.\n\n“You alright over there?” The boy asked seeming a little concerned about his pet.\n\n“Oh, yeah. My body just acts strangely around water.” Zap began to splash some of the water over to where Sammy was standing.\n\n“Hey, no fair!” The human covered his face in an effort to shield himself.\n\n\tZap hesitated for a moment simply smiling at his friend. His excitement was building and his body was buzzing with a slight prickling sensation coursing through his body. The cub played it off as his discharge having some minor side effects. Though his body ached slightly and his muscles were feeling sore. It felt as if his whole body were stretching, his legs wobbling around him as he walked towards his friend in increasingly deep water. The Pokemon stepped closer to his friend realizing that even in the more shallow water, he was pretty close to where Sammy was standing. This seemed strange especially since how much bigger the boy was than Zap. He wondered how deep it might be where the trainer stood...\n\n\tThe minun hesitated for a moment before he squatted down on his two hind haunches. Sammy wondered what he might be thinking. It didn't take long before he found out. Zap lept with all of his might before tackling the other boy into to water. They wrestled for a moment as the smaller boy still seemed to be getting the upper hand despite their difference in size. There was no questioning it, it seemed the Pokemon was stronger than the scrawny boy. The two rolled around in the water in a spiral, with neither boys head being submerged for too long.\n\n\tBefore long the two fully emerged from their playful activity, sharing a bout of laughter as they seemed to be much more relaxed than before.\n\n“Maybe we should get to finding that cave now?” Zap suggested as his fur was beginning to matte.\n\n“Sure, this was a nice break.” Sammy began heading back to the shore. \n\nThe Minun followed behind before long. His body was nagging at him with a constant tingling feeling and he wasn't sure why. He was finding it hard to walk as his whole body was wobbly and awkward. He itched himself with one of his claws as he came closer to the other boy before emerging on the beach. \n\n\tStrangely something seemed off the closer he got to the human. Zap had always barely come up to the boy's waist and was now nearly eye to eye with his trainer.\n\n“Hey Sammy, Do I look...different to you?” The Minun asked a little confused about the change in perspective.\n\nThe trainer turned around and looked to see what Zap was talking about. Sure enough, the Pokemon was almost as tall as he was.\n\n“Um...did you get...bigger?” Sammy asked sizing himself up next to his pet.\n\n“I think I did? I'm not really sure what happened.” The minun looked at his white-furred hands and was trying to figure out what was happening to him.\n\n“Well, I mean...you've gotten a lot bigger? How do you feel?” The human tried staying positive about the situation.\n\n“My body feels like it's aching all over...but its nothing major, I feel fine other than that.” Zap put his hands back down and peered his head down as if he were uncertain of himself.\n\n“This is pretty crazy but also kinda neat.” The human reached over and hugged his pokemon who filled much of his own figure now, it was strange to be sure.\n\n“Erm...okay” The minun was a little confused by his friends reaction but the boys body warmth put him at ease.\n\n“Let's go find that cave!” Sammy tried changing the subject in order to improve the boys mood and remained positive about the situation.\n\nZap helped out, finding he could pick up a lot more than he used to be able to. It was a little reassuring that he had gotten stronger at least. Once they had gathered their things, they made their way down the beach. \n\n\tEventually, the beach began to angle inward as the coastline shrank. It cornered into a small spot where the ocean crashed into the rockhead. Sure enough, there seemed to be an opening along the outcropping of rocks.\n\n“Hey look, we found one!” The trainer seemed excited that they had managed to find what they were looking for.\n\n“Cool!” Zap was a little scared, to be honest, but wasn't allowed to let that deter him from following the trainer.\n\nOnce they got closer to the opening, the sun was seemingly blocked by the cliff which loomed overhead. Cool air slipped out of the opening to the cavern and \n\n“Ready to explore?” Sammy asked as he peered into the dark opening which didn't seem to be all that inviting.\n\n“Uh...yeah, I guess.” The minun was increasingly nervous as they approached the entrance.\n\nThe two went into the entrance with the Pokemon following behind. The further they went in, the darker it got.\n\n“Getting...hard to...walk” The cubs nerves were getting to him and he was getting rather worked up over the ordeal.\n\n“What's wrong...?” Sammy looked back to see what was keeping his friend who had stopped in his tracks.\n\nLooking back at the Pokemon he watched as his friend steadily crept upward. His body showing a faint red glow as it grew larger and larger. The Pokemon's feet and legs covering more and more ground as Sammy looked up watching the boys ears touch the ceiling, and then his head just bumped it, causing some rocks to crumble from above.\n\n“Ow...” The chipmunk rubbed his head in a bit of discomfort.\n\n“Uh...you grew again...” The human said in a bit of disbelief unsure of what to think, looking up at his friend with a bit of concern.\n\n“My body...feels like it's burning.” The minun plopped down on his behind as if his sudden burst of height was taking a huge toll on his body.\n\n“Erm...I don't really know how I can help...but we should try to figure out what's going on with you.”\n\n“Okay....” The Pokemon was just glad the sudden spurt of energy had left his body.\n\n“Are you feeling alright?” Sammy got up closer to the Minun who was now easily double his own size.\n\n“I feel tired...my muscles can't even move...and I want something to eat.” Zap's stomach rumbled as he said that.\n\n“Well, it has been a while since we ate so maybe we should have a snack? Let me see what I have...” The trainer kneeled down and began to ransack through his bag.\n\n\tIt took a moment before the boy found something suitable for consumption. Sammy looked over at the cub again, shocked at how big he looked now.\n\n“I got some granola if you want that. It's better than nothing at least.” The trainer suggested as a last minute alternative.\n\n“Sure...I'll try anything just for some energy.” Zap really just wanted to relax and recover his stamina.\n\nThe trainer handed his partner the little bar, who snatched it up without hesitation. Apparently the young chipmunk's had increased along with his size. The Pokemon didn't normally eat human stuff but this called for extreme measures. \n\n\tThe unfamiliar texture of the bar was difficult to chew in his mouth but he sucked it up and forced himself to digest the snack. It was better than being hungry, he told himself. As he swallowed it he felt a little better.\n\n“Better?” Sammy asked to make sure his friend was feeling a little more energetic.\n\n“Yeah...but I could use a rest...that alright?” Zap wasn't entirely sure he could get up at this point as his muscles were just exhausted from the sudden exertion of strain on his form.\n\n“Yeah, we can if you want. We can set up camp here. It's cooler than being outside and we've been traveling a while.” The human wasn't spent yet but decided to accommodate his friend's needs.\n\n“Cool...I'm just gonna lay down then.” The minun laid flat and allowed his longer body to relax against the long floor.\n\n“Alright feel better, buddy.” Sammy sat down and set his things on the floor, before going around to see if he could find things to make a fire. It took him a while before he was able to get one started but the extra warmth was worth it.\n\n\tZap's body was tense and sore, he couldn't move much and his mind was restless. Zap often had many sleepness nights where all sorts of ephemeral creatures plagued his mind. As a phasmaphobe, the cub often found himself subjected to all sorts of ghostly terrors. As he tossed and turned the terrible shaded visage of Haunter appeared in his mind. It's long and dainty figures trying to grab him and take him to the underworld. Each time it touched him, his body felt like was being consumed by an overwhelming sense of cool.\n\n\tWhen he awoke, his forehead was sweating. Looking around quickly, rapidly breathing as if expecting to be taken away by the foul villain. The minun's body aching even worse than before, generating a faint red light on his form. Zap grunted a bit as he watched his body elongate in front of him. His legs stretching outward and his lanky arms hardly fitting his even more massive form. The ground below him cracking a bit as his increased weight shifted over the rocky floors. He tried moving but his muscles wouldn't respond as the little growth spurt seemingly ceased...sitting there restless once again.\n\t\n\n\tSammy wasted no time in finding more timber. There was scrap wood all over the place as if some critters had brought them inside to hibernate. The boy wondered what might have brought them in, but the issue didn't seem to be pressing enough to matter. \n\n“ROAR!!!!” A sound resonated through the caverns as the trainer panicked and looked around as for the source of the noise.\n\nThis boisterous volume was enough to rouse anyone from any lumbering state of slumber. Zap overheard it as well as little nap was interrupted. The big pokemon lumbered to his full stature as his friend visage raced into his line of site.\n\n“Run!!!!!” The trainer didn't even bother to wait or get his stuff, leaving it behind in the name of safety.\n\n\tZap didn't think much about the issue. His sudden bout with weakness seemed to be over and fear took over as he saw a looming shadow in the bowels of the cavern. The cub didn't wait to see what it was and quickly followed the trainer out. Within no time the Minun was able to close the gap and even end up outside first, despite having leaving after his friend. The two followed the thin stream of light out as it eventually led them back out to the outcropping of rocks. They had made it and soon bent over in order to catch their breath.\n\n“What was that?” Zap asked a little winded, but still feeling better than before.\n\n“I don't know...but let's not go back in there.” Sammy said as he now got a much better look at his taller friend.\n\n“Jeez, you really did get big didn't you?” The human felt like an ant next to his partner.\n\n“Heh, I guess so but this is pretty cool!” The pokemon rubbed his hand against his headfur, a little embarrassed about his situation.\n\n“Maybe we should try to figure out what happened to you now?” The boy really was curious as to the cause and wanted to solve the mystery.\n\n“Nah, it's fine. I'm actually starting to like being bigger than you!” Standing next to the human the minun seemed to be at least 3 times Sammy's size.\n\n“But what if you keep getting bigger...?” The trainer was a bit concerned about his friend's sudden change in disposition.\n\n“So what? Then maybe you can ride on me, instead of the other way around. It will be neat!” Zap was trying to convince the boy not to pursue the issue any further and just let it be.\n\n“I guess that would be pretty cool...” Sammy tried to be as positive as he could about the ordeal and appease his friend.\n\n“It'll be fun...I promise I won't hurt you...” The minun was feeling excitable thinking about the possibilities.\n\n\tThe pokemon reached over and hugged his friend. Zap was easily able to drape his long arms around the other boy. Sammy's body warm put the cub at ease as Zap's body began to relax and his muscle strain slowly dissipated. After a moment of sharing the warm embrace the cub's form began to pulsate with energy. His body putting out a small emission of voltage but since Sammy wasn't pulling away, it didn't appear to be unpleasant. The familiar red glow began to emanate as the Pokemon's body began to expand even further, growing larger and larger by the second.\n\n\tBefore long the smaller trainers body was seemingly lifted from the floor. Sammy looked around panicked and as he looked behind him, he watched the floor getting further and further away. But before long the upward movement stopped and the evident radiance finally faded.\n\n“Wow....” The boy couldn't believe how high he was up now.\n\n“Neat!” Zap commented taking one of his paws and plucking Sammy using two of his fingers to place him on the Pokemon's shoulder.\n\nZap was essentially a giant now. Shadowing over even the tallest trees in the area. Looking over at the cave, even that was small to the Pokemon now.\n\n“See...I told you it would be fun!” The cub giggled a bit as he began gallivanting around the beach.\n\n“Yeah, this is pretty cool but boy are you big now!” Sammy figured he needed to yell for the now giant Pokemon to hear him.\n\n\tZap and Sammy enjoyed the rest of their day making huge strides across the coast, even attracting some unwanted attention from Pastoria. Some of its residents remarking a “huge presence nearby.” and “obnoxious stomping noises.” But when the police arrived on the scene they found the giant cub meant no harm and left on their way to reassure the cities citizens of their safety. But the question remained. How would Zap's life change now as a giant Pokemon? Would he ever go back to normal or would he grow even more? \tThe life of a Pokemon is not always an interesting one. Living, Training, Battling, and Evolving all have their challenges but can sometimes get mundane especially for the monsters who were kept at bay and lived inside their Pokeball for much of their life. Of course, there were more reasonable trainers who kept their Pokemon out and allowed them to travel outside their otherwise controlled world. However, it wasn't normal and sometimes even frowned upon depending on the setting. But for some, it didn't matter and their Pokemon's lives were often better.

\tSammy was no new trainer. At 13 years of age, the boy had already been on his journey for the last 3 years. However, unlike many kids, who set out to become a Pokemon master, Sammy was more interested in learning the finer details of where he lived. As such he had been aspiring to take up the role of a Pokemon researcher. He had already worked for various Pokemon scientists across the realm, but mostly kept to himself when it kept to field work. Unlike most travelers, the boy only had one Pokemon.

\tHis Pokemon was a single minun who he'd had since he began the journey. Sammy hadn't even captured the Pokemon legitimately. Sammy had found the Chipmunk Pokemon when he was just starting out. He lived near a power plant and the place was just teaming with electric Pokemon. On that day in the past, the boy was exploring the power plant looking for little gadgets to exploit. He found the Minun laying helplessly by one of the power cells outside of the plant itself. The plant had long been abandoned and no one was around to help it, so he took it upon himself to nurse the Chipmunk back up to health.

\t After a few weeks of taking the Minun into his personal care, the Pokemon eventually grew to trust the boy. Sammy even became as affectionate to call his charge, Zap, since the Chipmunk often discharged small bolts of electricity throughout the length of its body. When it was fully healed, the beast showed no desire to leave. Even stranger was the fact that the minun had at least a basic vocalization ability beyond its own name. Over the years, the boy had taught the Pokemon to talk and very much considered his partners equal.

\tIt had been 3 years and the 2 had become close friends. Sammy never made Zap go into a Pokeball and the Minun developed into his own little travel partner. The two always traversed side by side and whenever a task presented itself, the two worked together in order to solve it more quickly. One day Sammy received an email from Professor Rowan about a new type of ingredient that was being passed around to trainers for trial. The reward was a hefty one and involved actually going over to the local Pokemart in order to pick it up.

\tSammy decided it was too good of an offer to pass up. After telling Zap about it, the boy and his Pokemon decided to stop their research on marine line in order to head to the Pokestop in hopes that there would be a store there. The journey to the stop wasn't incredibly far and took about 30 minutes before they arrived at what seemed to be Pastoria City. It was a small place situated by the water and the town didn't have that many residents.

\tThe boy began to look around once they arrived at the entrance to the place. The signs placed around made the Pokemart an easy find. The red roof and Pokeball center overtop of it made it easy to distinguish, no matter where one was. Sammy led Zap inside and the storekeeper looked over at them a bit suspiciously.

“Can I help you find something?” The lithe and tall woman in an apron, store polo, and skirt approached the smaller boy.

“Well, I got an email from Professor Rowan about some experimental ingredient they want to try. I was wondering if you were given any?” Sammy looked up at the woman curiously.

“Ah, yes. We received our shipment just recently. Come to the counter and fill out some paperwork, so you can receive your trial of the stuff.” The woman went back behind the counter and pulled out a small clipboard with a form set on top of it.

Sammy had never filled out anything before but the questions it asked were rather easy so he began to pen the answers as she pulled out a small wooden box and placed it on the counter.

“So, there are a few things you need to know. First, this hasn't been tested before and there are no known side effects. Second, any side effects you notice please try to keep a note of it. Lastly, make sure to only give in small amounts. There are enough for 5 doses here. If you like the results...then you can come back for more later.” The woman finished reading the terms of the trial.

“Alright, that sounds good. What about the reward?” After all the only thing the boy was interested in was the money.

“Ah, yes. Of course. Here you are.” The woman handed the boy 5000 Pokedollars.

“Thanks!” The boy took the cash and stuffed it in his pocket.

“Don't forget your trial!”The storekeeper held out the small box expectantly.

“Whoops, sorry!” Sammy returned to the counter and grabbed it.

“Make sure to report your findings directly to Professor Rowan, alright?” The woman reminded the child.

“Sure...see you later.” The boy made his way out of the store with his two prizes, wondering what he would spend the cash on.

Zap followed closely behind, somewhat curious what the trial item was. The box didn't give away any apparent hints and the Minun's innate sense of mischief wanted to try it. The chipmunk decided it would have to wait until his trainer gave it to him or until he could get it himself.

\tThe two returned to the shores of Sinnoh where the rays of the sun cascaded over the sea. All sorts of Pokemon could be seen from Gyrados roping through the waters to Wingulls crescendoing in the sky. The two set camp near the hillside and made some lunch. The human always made himself a sandwich while the Pokemon preferred fruits and berries. Today's variety included Oran and Hondew berries. The minun munched away once they were placed in front of them.

“Good berries, Zap?” Sammy asked his pet.

“Yeah, thanks!” The minun stated with a full mouth.

\tThe human couldn't help but laugh as he looked at his friend with his cheeks stuffed full.

“You don't have to eat as if you haven't seen food before.”\tThe boy didn't want his friend to choke after all.

“Sorry...” The Pokemon slowed down his insistent munching.

“See? Isn't that better? You can enjoy your food longer.” The trainer began to nibble on his own sandwich.

“Uhuh...” Zap tried to be polite but it wasn't always possible when it came to food.

“Want a treat?”  Sammy asked, knowing full well his friends answer.

The chipmunk simply nodded and continued munching away on the second berry in front of him. Samy threw him a small chunk of chocolate.

“Your favorite.” The trainer knew full well what his friend liked.

Not surprisingly, the Pokemon stopped what he was eating and almost immediately engulfed the small bar of chocolate.

“Silly, boy.” Sammy couldn't help but laugh at the other boy.

“What?” The minun's snout had chocolate all over it.

“Here, let me help you.” The boy leaned over taking a rag to clean the chipmunk's face.

“Oh, thanks.” Zap felt a bit embarrassed about his messy issue.

“No, problem.” Sammy leaned back and then continued finishing his meal.

Once they had finished dining, Sammy couldn't help himself and went to take some more notes, hoping that he could find some elusive Pokemon in the distance.

\tAfter Zap finished stuffing his face, he realized this was the opportunity he had been looking for. The minun got on all fours and began to crawl about in an attempt to find the little box he saw earlier. Once he was within distance of the boy's bag, he began to ransack through it. Most of the stuff was various sundries, from medication to bandages but nothing really that stood out. Eventually, he happened upon the little box from earlier. Zap looked over to see if Sammy suspected anything and sure enough there was no sign of his deeds being revealed.

\tThe pokemon had an easy enough time popping the thing open since there was no safety mechanism. Inside the box were 5 very shiny red orbs. To Zap they appeared to be candy and he couldn't help but wonder how they might taste. But then he recalled from earlier that they were some sort of trial. Exactly what sort of trial was never shared so he wasn't certain of what it all meant.  His stomach growled because the boy was always hungry. Figuring it couldn't hurt he took one out and closed the box back before popping it back into the bag.

\tExamining the orb further and bringing it close to his eyes, it didn't appear to be candy. It had no scent and was slightly warm to the touch. The thing emanated red and pulsated every few seconds. Curiosity was getting the better of him and he tapped it with one of his fingers. It made a hollow sound and vibrated when it was touched. Suddenly it burned brightly and started to melt. The little orb began to shrink into a pool of red ooze as if it were dematerializing from the surrounding heat. The Pokemon's hand began to tingle as the stuff began to absorb into his skin.

\tZap began to panic as he waved his paw around in an effort to get the liquid off of him. It was sticky and despite his best efforts, the slimy goo showed no signs of falling from his hand. However, when he checked to see if he had many any progress, he saw that it seemed to have been completely gone. Had he gotten rid of it or what happened to it? The question reigned in his mind as a slight tingling sensation buzzed in his hand. He looked at the paw and it didn't seem to be any different, at least to him.\t\t

\tHe wasn't entirely sure what had just happened but the little red orb had all but dissipated. Zap couldn't ask about it either and was certain Sammy wouldn't know anyways. He figured it would be best to let the issue be. The minun picked himself up and walked over to where Sammy was figuring he needed something to take his mind off the issue.

“Find anything new?” Zap asked trying to get involved in his friend's hobby.

“Naw, it's pretty slow today. Just the usual stuff.” Sammy didn't seem to be disheartened about it.

“We going to go somewhere else then?” The Minun asked, trying to be helpful.

“We could do that. Did you have an idea?” The human looked over to his friend.

“Well, just move to a different part of the beach? Maybe there's a cave nearby?” The Pokemon suggested as he figured it was a plausible location for a cave.

“We could try that. Let me get our stuff together and we can go.” Sammy returned to the camp and collected their stuff so that they could leave.

The two gathered their things and began to traverse down the long stretch of the sandy beach. It was a warm day and the sun didn't offer much in the realm of respite.

\tSammy led as if he knew where they were going but the reality was that he was just looking around. The human was just as hot as the Pokemon and wanted to cool off.

“It's pretty hot out, maybe we could go for a swim?” Zap suggested as he was feeling overly exhausted from the heat.

“Yeah, sure. It's not like we're having much luck in finding somewhere to hide from the sun.” Sammy wiped his forehead of the sweat that had collected there.

“Cool, That sounds fun!” The Pokemon was very excited at the prospect of taking a load off, even if they hadn't been traveling all day.

The two set their things back down on the sand again. Zap didn't need an invitation and merely dumped his stuff on the floor without much thought. The Pokemon diving into the water as the cool water surrounded his body.

“You alright over there?” The boy asked seeming a little concerned about his pet.

“Oh, yeah. My body just acts strangely around water.” Zap began to splash some of the water over to where Sammy was standing.

“Hey, no fair!” The human covered his face in an effort to shield himself.

\tZap hesitated for a moment simply smiling at his friend. His excitement was building and his body was buzzing with a slight prickling sensation coursing through his body. The cub played it off as his discharge having some minor side effects. Though his body ached slightly and his muscles were feeling sore. It felt as if his whole body were stretching, his legs wobbling around him as he walked towards his friend in increasingly deep water. The Pokemon stepped closer to his friend realizing that even in the more shallow water, he was pretty close to where Sammy was standing. This seemed strange especially since how much bigger the boy was than Zap. He wondered how deep it might be where the trainer stood...

\tThe minun hesitated for a moment before he squatted down on his two hind haunches. Sammy wondered what he might be thinking. It didn't take long before he found out. Zap lept with all of his might before tackling the other boy into to water. They wrestled for a moment as the smaller boy still seemed to be getting the upper hand despite their difference in size. There was no questioning it, it seemed the Pokemon was stronger than the scrawny boy. The two rolled around in the water in a spiral, with neither boys head being submerged for too long.

\tBefore long the two fully emerged from their playful activity, sharing a bout of laughter as they seemed to be much more relaxed than before.

“Maybe we should get to finding that cave now?” Zap suggested as his fur was beginning to matte.

“Sure, this was a nice break.” Sammy began heading back to the shore.

The Minun followed behind before long. His body was nagging at him with a constant tingling feeling and he wasn't sure why. He was finding it hard to walk as his whole body was wobbly and awkward. He itched himself with one of his claws as he came closer to the other boy before emerging on the beach.

\tStrangely something seemed off the closer he got to the human. Zap had always barely come up to the boy's waist and was now nearly eye to eye with his trainer.

“Hey Sammy, Do I look...different to you?” The Minun asked a little confused about the change in perspective.

The trainer turned around and looked to see what Zap was talking about. Sure enough, the Pokemon was almost as tall as he was.

“Um...did you get...bigger?” Sammy asked sizing himself up next to his pet.

“I think I did? I'm not really sure what happened.” The minun looked at his white-furred hands and was trying to figure out what was happening to him.

“Well, I mean...you've gotten a lot bigger? How do you feel?” The human tried staying positive about the situation.

“My body feels like it's aching all over...but its nothing major, I feel fine other than that.” Zap put his hands back down and peered his head down as if he were uncertain of himself.

“This is pretty crazy but also kinda neat.” The human reached over and hugged his pokemon who filled much of his own figure now, it was strange to be sure.

“Erm...okay” The minun was a little confused by his friends reaction but the boys body warmth put him at ease.

“Let's go find that cave!” Sammy tried changing the subject in order to improve the boys mood and remained positive about the situation.

Zap helped out, finding he could pick up a lot more than he used to be able to. It was a little reassuring that he had gotten stronger at least. Once they had gathered their things, they made their way down the beach.

\tEventually, the beach began to angle inward as the coastline shrank. It cornered into a small spot where the ocean crashed into the rockhead. Sure enough, there seemed to be an opening along the outcropping of rocks.

“Hey look, we found one!” The trainer seemed excited that they had managed to find what they were looking for.

“Cool!” Zap was a little scared, to be honest, but wasn't allowed to let that deter him from following the trainer.

Once they got closer to the opening, the sun was seemingly blocked by the cliff which loomed overhead. Cool air slipped out of the opening to the cavern and

“Ready to explore?” Sammy asked as he peered into the dark opening which didn't seem to be all that inviting.

“Uh...yeah, I guess.” The minun was increasingly nervous as they approached the entrance.

The two went into the entrance with the Pokemon following behind. The further they went in, the darker it got.

“Getting...hard to...walk” The cubs nerves were getting to him and he was getting rather worked up over the ordeal.

“What's wrong...?” Sammy looked back to see what was keeping his friend who had stopped in his tracks.

Looking back at the Pokemon he watched as his friend steadily crept upward. His body showing a faint red glow as it grew larger and larger. The Pokemon's feet and legs covering more and more ground as Sammy looked up watching the boys ears touch the ceiling, and then his head just bumped it, causing some rocks to crumble from above.

“Ow...” The chipmunk rubbed his head in a bit of discomfort.

“Uh...you grew again...” The human said in a bit of disbelief unsure of what to think, looking up at his friend with a  bit of concern.

“My body...feels like it's burning.” The minun plopped down on his behind as if his sudden burst of height was taking a huge toll on his body.

“Erm...I don't really know how I can help...but we should try to figure out what's going on with you.”

“Okay....”  The Pokemon was just glad the sudden spurt of energy had left his body.

“Are you feeling alright?” Sammy got up closer to the Minun who was now easily double his own size.

“I feel tired...my muscles can't even move...and I want something to eat.” Zap's stomach rumbled as he said that.

“Well, it has been a while since we ate so maybe we should have a snack? Let me see what I have...” The trainer kneeled down and began to ransack through his bag.

\tIt took a moment before the boy found something suitable for consumption. Sammy looked over at the cub again, shocked at how big he looked now.

“I got some granola if you want that. It's better than nothing at least.” The trainer suggested as a last minute alternative.

“Sure...I'll try anything just for some energy.” Zap really just wanted to relax and recover his stamina.

The trainer handed his partner the little bar, who snatched it up without hesitation. Apparently the young chipmunk's had increased along with his size. The Pokemon didn't normally eat human stuff but this called for extreme measures.

“Yeah...but I could use a rest...that alright?” Zap wasn't entirely sure he could get up at this point as his muscles were just exhausted from the sudden exertion of strain on his form.

“Yeah, we can if you want. We can set up camp here. It's cooler than being outside and we've been traveling a while.” The human wasn't spent yet but decided to accommodate his friend's needs.

“Cool...I'm just gonna lay down then.” The minun laid flat and allowed his longer body to relax against the long floor.

“Alright feel better, buddy.” Sammy sat down and set his things on the floor, before going around to see if he could find things to make a fire. It took him a while before he was able to get one started but the extra warmth was worth it.

“Heh, I guess so but this is pretty cool!” The pokemon rubbed his hand against his headfur, a little embarrassed about his situation.

“Maybe we should try to figure out what happened to you now?” The boy really was curious as to the cause and wanted to solve the mystery.

“Nah, it's fine. I'm actually starting to like being bigger than you!” Standing next to the human the minun seemed to be at least 3 times Sammy's size.

“But what if you keep getting bigger...?” The trainer was a bit concerned about his friend's sudden change in disposition.

“So what? Then maybe you can ride on me, instead of the other way around. It will be neat!” Zap was trying to convince the boy not to pursue the issue any further and just let it be.

“I guess that would be pretty cool...” Sammy tried to be as positive as he could about the ordeal and appease his friend.

“It'll be fun...I promise I won't hurt you...” The minun was feeling excitable thinking about the possibilities.

\tThe pokemon reached over and hugged his friend. Zap was easily able to drape his long arms around the other boy. Sammy's body warm put the cub at ease as Zap's body began to relax and his muscle strain slowly dissipated. After a moment of sharing the warm embrace the cub's form began to pulsate with energy. His body putting out a small emission of voltage but since Sammy wasn't pulling away, it didn't appear to be unpleasant. The familiar red glow began to emanate as the Pokemon's body began to expand even further, growing larger and larger by the second.

\tBefore long the smaller trainers body was seemingly lifted from the floor. Sammy looked around panicked and as he looked behind him, he watched the floor getting further and further away. But before long the upward movement stopped and the evident radiance finally faded.

“Wow....” The boy couldn't believe how high he was up now.

“Neat!” Zap commented taking one of his paws and plucking Sammy using two of his fingers to place him on the Pokemon's shoulder.

Zap was essentially a giant now. Shadowing over even the tallest trees in the area. Looking over at the cave, even that was small to the Pokemon now.

“See...I told you it would be fun!” The cub giggled a bit as he began gallivanting around the beach.

“Yeah, this is pretty cool but boy are you big now!” Sammy figured he needed to yell for the now giant Pokemon to hear him.

\tZap and Sammy enjoyed the rest of their day making huge strides across the coast, even attracting some unwanted attention from Pastoria. Some of its residents remarking a “huge presence nearby.” and “obnoxious stomping noises.” But when the police arrived on the scene they found the giant cub meant no harm and left on their way to reassure the cities citizens of their safety. But the question remained. How would Zap's life change now as a giant Pokemon? Would he ever go back to normal or would he grow even more?
