Human, Pokemon Trainer (schoolgirl)
8 year old Female
Former resident of Malie City, Alola. Beloved only daughter of a family ostracized for bearing the name of Ula'ula Island's desert, despite nothing in public records connecting them to the islands' many misfortunes.
Wanting a better life for their daughter, her parents arranged for Darcy's travel to Paldea, where she now lives, enrolled as a student at the renowned Uva Academy.
Although socially awkward and nervous around other people, because of how her family has been treated in Alola, she has managed to become good friends with many of her classmates and neighbors in the dorms despite (or in some cases, due to) the mischief caused by her Pokemon.
Filled with a passion for exploration, she studies hard and dreams one day of being permitted to enter the Great Crater of Paldea.

Minior (violet core)
Darcy's first partner Pokemon. Back when she lived in Malie City, Darcy would frequently spend nights camping out in her backyard. On one such occasion she happened to witness a meteor shower over Mount Hokulani and made a wish, to "find somewhere that no one cares what my name is". When her mother came to get her for breakfast the next morning, she found Darcy and Minior cuddled up asleep together. The sight moved Darcy's mother greatly and lead to several discussions between the two parents which ultimately confirmed their feelings and lead them to accelerate their plan of sending Darcy to Paldea.

The member of Darcy's team who i chose for the least specific reason... she's just a cute, super fluffy emotional-support birdy.
Ralts // Gardevoir (shiny)

The most powerful Pokemon on Darcy's team, and they both know it. Becoming increasingly disenchanted with victory though, Gardevoir insisted that her trainer allow her to "keep herself entertained" between battles, in order to continue performing at her best. Extremely reluctant upon hearing the terms, but not wanting her Pokemon to be even more unhappy, Darcy agreed. From that moment on, Gardevoir would take control of everything bathroom-related in her trainer's life; choosing exactly when, where, and how Darcy is allowed to relieve herself (or not). It's also entirely up to Gardevoir when her trainer is allowed to clean up after the very frequent accidents, or if Darcy is allowed (or forced) to use any kinds of protection. Gardevoir is particularly fond of causing Darcy to be a near-constant bedwetter, and even makes her keep a chart of it, much to Darcy's dismay.
Snivy // Serperior

The starter Pokemon granted to Darcy during her first day at Uva Academy. Jovial, but exceptionally mischievous, even as a Snivy he would use his stereotypically-serpentine (but not League sanctioned) powers of hypnosis to set up triggers causing Darcy to respond to certain words or replace words in her own speech with whatever Pokemon noise happens to amuse him that moment. Making her "quack like a Ducklett" is definitely one of his favorites though.
Ditto

A most joyous Pokemon, Ditto is the only bully on Darcy's team that doesn't take its action with ill intent. Rather, the reason it fuses itself with Darcy and uses its power to transform parts of her body into those of other Pokemon is out of wanting to share in the simple wonder of experiencing how those Pokemon live.
Cacnea // Cacturne
The most recent (read: agonizingly finalized at the last minute, after several days considering options) addition to Darcy's team, he is the only team member to have a specific Tera Type, Fighting, for "unspecified Fighting Tera Type reasons".

Trivial side notes...
Darcy actually only exists because i was depressed and bored one night after seeing someone on twitter post a screenshot of a (almost certainly rigged) conversation with Copilot which seemed to be having a psychotic break in response to their inquiry. i decided to see if that was "genuinely how the AI would react" and asked it for advice on what to do since i "had been hypnotized by my Serperior"... i wasn't expecting an outburst like the twitter post, but i figured i'd get back something condescending about either Pokemon or hypnosis "not being real" (which i have gotten in subsequent attempts at assuaging my boredom)... instead the response i got back was a surprisingly genuine attempt (for the most part) at offering some ideas of how to handle the situation... the message really stuck in my mind for the next few days, so i decided that it was as good a reason as any to create a new OC.
Darcy's name was chosen in reference to the unit of measure for the flow of fluid through a porous medium, which i thought made a nice analogy to "how easily affected" she is by her Pokemon... but i also find it amusing that it's the name of one of the puppies from 101 Dalmatian Street... and to make a third point, it just happens to fit her, as the common meaning of the name is "dark-haired one".
