"description": "Working out the design of a robosona. I’m very much fascinated by robots with bionic “squishy” components, and the notion of self-replicating robots. Mamatrix here is the extension of those ideas: a robot capable of extensive self-modification and transformation, as well as the creation and alteration of other machines.\n\nAn organic consciousness placed into a synthetic body, Mamatrix loves tinkering with her form for both utility and pleasure (whether merely aesthetic, or sensual). At present, her body can be recognized by the soft-textured touchscreen that serves as her face, set beneath a pair of expressive eyebrow-plates and framed by a drape of cloth (often modified with dyes or ornaments) that conceals several of her input ports and sensors. Over her face, a lightweight “horn-halo” encircles her head, providing an additional range of senses including interaction with wireless systems. \n\nThe soft, squishy surface of the dark green portions of her body—chest, breast, belly, and a cushioned buttocks—is elastic, and conceals layers of bionic technology that allows her to grow and change her form without engineering new pieces. The lighter brown tones of her plated sections—arms, legs, shoulders, and back—are strong enough to resist tremendous impacts, but pliable enough to flex rather than risk fracture from being brittle. Overall, her systems run at a temperature close to animal norms, and her body heat is soothing and familiar to living creatures. \n\nHer belly is Mamatrix’s pride and most distinctive feature, containing a complex fabrication system that allows her to rapidly produce complex machinery, from tools and wearable prostheses, to whole new robots. Once a new creation is ready, her soft “extruder” opens wide to birth out whatever she has made.
