  "description": "As part of the shift from regular fox to kitsune I gave Kinaru a female form, though it was a debate for a while whether to keep that as canon or just a kind of alt-universe sort of thing. I don't show it very much at all (indeed physically I'm pretty well defined as masculine) but for me gender isn't really what I'd call a defining pillar of my personality. A lot of what had kept me from canonizing it before was a fear of being disrespectful to those for whom gender is a major component and for whom that component does not match their physical attributes. Having that trait in a fursona gives me a few more interesting options for storytelling and seems like a good way of exploring aspects of my personality that my physicality would otherwise make difficult.",
