"description": "It started out with parts shaped out of styrofoam insulation board. A sharp knife was used to cut the basic shape, and sand paper (ranging from 36 to 120 grit) was used to make the basic contours.\nThe parts are assembled with a hot glue gun.\nA coating of Durham's Wood Putty is applied over the styrofoam so it does not look porous. An artist paint brush is used to apply it. It is also used to build up dips and other areas. For that, it is put on using hands to apply and shape. And it covers assembly seams. It also adheres to almost every surface very well. Durham's Wood Putty is a powder mixed with water, and dries rather quickly to a hard coating. Almost every Ace Hardware store in North America has carried it for more than the past 30 years.\nFake fur is used for the hair.\nFake pearls were used for the eyes, then the irises and pupils were painted on. The fake pearls can be purchased at a craft supply store, but I got them cheaper by purchasing old fake pearl necklaces at a Goodwill thrift store.\nThe claws are ends of tooth picks painted off white. The parts are assembled with a hot glue gun.
A coating of Durham's Wood Putty is applied over the styrofoam so it does not look porous. An artist paint brush is used to apply it. It is also used to build up dips and other areas. For that, it is put on using hands to apply and shape. And it covers assembly seams. It also adheres to almost every surface very well. Durham's Wood Putty is a powder mixed with water, and dries rather quickly to a hard coating. Almost every Ace Hardware store in North America has carried it for more than the past 30 years.
Fake fur is used for the hair.
Fake pearls were used for the eyes, then the irises and pupils were painted on. The fake pearls can be purchased at a craft supply store, but I got them cheaper by purchasing old fake pearl necklaces at a Goodwill thrift store.
