In the picture, two state troopers from the New Mexico State Police (a wolf and a bear) arrive on the scene where a 1958 Chevy flipped over with a beaver couple as occupants.
Shown is a 1958 Ford patrol car, which is a two year old car at the time. It is driven by the bear.
The other patrol car, a 1960 Ford, is not in the picture as it is parked further up out of view, which is driven by the wolf.
Beyond the patrol car is a female beaver who was ejected from the '58 Chevy as it was rolling over.
The two state troopers are in the process of prying open a door on the overturned car with crowbars to free her husband who is trapped inside. Due to gasoline fumes being present getting the driver out of the car is a priority.

In the background, the headlights and flasher of the first of two ambulances can be seen three miles away beyond a mirage...On those long level straightaways, vehicles can be seen from far off.

The 1st ambulance should be there in less than two minutes as it is arriving at 100 mph.
The first trooper to arrive, Sargent Alton Wolf, was patrolling that stretch of Highway 285 at about 75 mph and happened to notice the crash scene.
Trooper Dave Bear was the nearest officer available when Alton Wolf radioed for assistance.
When Alton Wolf told Dave Bear it was an overturned car with an occupant trapped inside and the smell of gasoline was present, Dave didn't spare any horse power getting there...On his way there, Dave Bear had his patrol car up to speeds as high as 135 mph.
When Dave Bear sped past the home of Rufus and Laura Opossum and their cubs at 135 mph, the Opossum Family knew that meant a car wreck had happened several miles up the road from where they live.
In fact, while Lisa Opossum and her two brothers; Lester and Vince, were taking turns riding their minibike, they noticed the gold and white 1958 Chevy going by at 70 mph a while ago.

And sure enough, two ambulances speeding by with sirens blaring, a fire truck and a tow truck were soon to follow.
Fortunately for the beaver couple, their injuries are not life threatening.
I had this song playing as an inspiration while I was making this drawing.

This is only a part of a final drawing which will show the other patrol car, and the state troopers rescuing the male beaver from the overturned car.
Once that drawing is done, it will be inserted into as a BB code image into the text of the next part of my story, Clarence Coyote and Project Courier.
Completion of that next drawing is the only thing holding up the posting the next part of the story.
