It is July 1960, and shown here is one of the stretches of highway in Colorado that Sheldon Wolf has driven on many times delivering new cars to dealerships in Southern Colorado and New Mexico...Over the years, this curve has well earned it's name, "Carnage Curve".
In pic #2, hopefully someone who gets a flat tire on this curve at night will notice that there is a sheer drop off where a road shoulder would be...Someone in that predicament would have to run on a flat for a half mile before there is a place to pull off of the road.
Pic #3 is in the summer of the following year of 1961... A teenage weasel thought he could take that curve at over 100 mph in the brand new 1961 Corvette his parents had given him as a high school graduation gift...Money was no issue in getting the car being that Daddy was an attorney, and Mamma was a CEO at a local bank branch.

One starry summer night, the young weasel and his girl friend stopped by at a Tastee Freez drive-in for some shrimp -n- fries and milkshakes...And as customary, the young male took care of the bill for his and her meals and shakes.

Tastee Freez was always a favorite hangout for the local teen animals. By the way, the weasel teen couple would feel flattered about a few of those other teen animals being envious of their brand new Corvette.

After the weasel teen couple left Tastee Freez, they decided to take that Corvette out for some high speed thrill riding on that starry summer night (pic #2). The two teen weasels would occasionally go on those thrill rides when they were out on a date.
They reached speeds up to 130 mph on straightaways. Topping hills at those speeds, then racing downhill, and continuing to race down the highway to zoom up the next mountain grade felt like a roller coaster ride on steroids. Speeds between 100 and 130 mph where the road slightly dipped or humped was also a rush of thrills.
On one particularly long straightaway, there were a few hill crests that even if you topped over them within the 50 and 60 mph speed limits, there still was a floating sensation that felt like butterflies in your gut.
Topping one of those hills, the male teen weasel had to momentarily steady the steering wheel with his knees when the Corvette became a bit airborne up off the road coming off of the crest of the hill at 120 mph...Coming up off the road for a second or two was a sensational thrill for the two lovers as they glanced at each other and laughed.
The female put her arm around her boyfriend and snuggled over to him as they continued racing down the highway...The only reason the male couldn't put an arm around her was that he had to keep both paws on the wheel at the speed they were going.
It was a rush of euphoria for the young weasel fiancees...Good rocking tunes playing on the car's radio...The wind blowing through their fur with the car's top down...And the hot rod roar of the Corvette's 315 horse power engine at speeds well over 100 mph.
Even if you were standing as much as 150 feet from that lone mountain highway that summer night, it would still seem like the weasel teens sped from out of nowhere in that 'Vette.

Broken white lines on the road looked like flashing dots lit up by the car's headlights in the night as they were racing down that highway...Upon coming into curves, it appeared as though the road was waving over to one side or the other...And there were the seemingly romantic stars shining brightly in the night sky.
The last tune to play on the car's radio was Dream Girl.

Before long, as Dream Girl continued playing on the radio, the young weasel couple approached that fateful curve at over 100 mph (nearly triple the safe speed for that curve).
Into the turn, the tires began screaming against the pavement as it felt like the Corvette was about to fishtail out of control. Trying to compensate for the car trying to spin out, the male weasel instinctively began to steer the car toward the sheer drop off edge of the road. The young weasel then abruptly attempted to steer away from going over the edge, thus unintentionally whipping the Corvette around into a slide (it all happened so quick). That Corvette shot airborne into the night darkness off the edge of that sheer drop, going sideways at 100 mph. The two young weasel lovers spent the last moment of their lives thrown out of the car in mid air, horrified out their wits as they flew almost horizontal in free fall along with their Corvette until crashing onto the lowland several hundred feet below...Their demise was merciful in that they did not linger in pain and misery being that their deaths came to them quickly, and followed by their wrecked and mangled Corvette flipping and tumbling over on them and crushing the remaining life out of their dying bodies.

* If a witness had seen that happen from a distance, because of it being nighttime, and the Corvette flying off the mountain almost horizontal, and that the headlights and taillights were still on prior to the 'Vette striking the ground below, that witness would have thought at first it was low flying airplane...that is until it was quickly realized that was no airplane, but a car running off a mountainside at a very high speed.
* While the 'Vette was flying through the air at 100 mph with it's former occupants leading the way;
the engine was still running with power still engaged in 4th gear to the rear wheels,
the engine began rattling and knocking as motor oil sloshed away from the crankcase to the top of the engine where the oil pump could not pick up any oil due to the 'Vette rolling over in mid air,
the headlights and taillights were on,
and the radio was still playing Dream Girl...until it all shut down the moment the 'Vette struck the ground.

...It was said by friends and loved ones at their closed casket funerals, the two young weasel fiancees lived wild, died young, but didn't make very good looking corpses.
BTW...The maximum safe posted speed for that curve is 40 mph.
A spooky coincidence for the two weasel teens who died in the Corvette crash, Dream Angel played on the Corvette's radio while they were having a blast high balling it down the highway prior to the song Dream Girl that played during the time of the crash...Was the song Dream Angel on the radio the Paw of Fate trying to warn the young weasel fiancees?...Who's to really know?

In the meantime, Clarence Coyote is still stranded in 1960. Clarence's trip to 1960 was by accident, which also resulted in damage to the time machine he arrived in...The damage to the machine was due to Clarence's lack of knowledge of how to properly operate it.
During Clarence's stay in 1960, Al and Marge Coyote adopted him so he can have a home and family, being that 1960 is a day and time long before Clarence's parents were born. In that family, Clarence also had three step siblings; Jed, Rex and Donna.
Al Coyote, a scientist who works for Horizon Innovations Laboratories, knows fellow scientists at the lab who have been attempting to repair the time machine so Clarence can return home to his original family in the 21st Century...Though repair attempts are a bit tough with only present day 1960 technology.
By the way...The grayish blue and white 1960 Plymouth Fury station wagon on the bottom deck of the car carrier is the station wagon that Al and Marge Coyote had Dave Pine Martin order for them at the dealership in Albuquerque.
Sheldon Fredric Benson Wolf (his full name) is the owner and independent operator of the semi tractor. The trailer is owned by Great West Auto Transport. Great West contracts independent truckers to haul their trailers, rather than to take on the endeavor of maintaining a fleet of their own semi tractors.
When ever Sheldon Wolf makes a delivery run that takes him to Las Cruces, there is a 24 hour diner he always stops at, Janet 'n' Moe's Diner 24 (owned by Moe and Janet Tayra).
