Nyx had dragged herself from the sewer then staggered into the nearest building for cover. Not that it would do much. Against something that large. She flapped her new wings hard and stopped her descent transitioning into a glide. She tried her best to mimic the movements she had seen the angel do in order to fly and it seemed to be working. She swooped down low to the crowd of freaks and swung her sword taking off most of the head of one of them, before talking another and rolling to a stop on the ground. The freak roars and lunged at her, but her wings shot forward impacting it, shards of copper sinking into its flesh making it roar before she sank her golden sword into its face.\n\nShe swung at another, then another. The copper bladed tips of her wings acting as extra weapons to use in addition to her sword, rapidly putting a dent in the crowd of freaks, until she heard sirens. Reinforcements meant that the cops and army guys would be able to help deal with the zombies so she could focus on other things.\n\nNyx flowed her gold to her legs and crouched then jumped. Chapter 64: Nyx

Nyx was mostly amazed that she was alive.  She had somehow managed to avoid being turned into mince meat when the giant fucking monster had torn through the pavement into the world above.  Nyx had dragged herself from the sewer then staggered into the nearest building for cover.  Not that it would do much.  Against something that large.  What she needed was high ground.

She climbed the stairs as fast as she could move, taking the steps two at a time and thanking whatever gods might exist for her enhanced stamina.  She burst through the door to the roof, shouldering through and drawing her weapon.

Bang. Bang. Bang.  She fired again and again.  Reloading, once, then twice.  Even with the new vantage point letting her aim at the creatures face she wasn’t doing much damage.  The bullets barely even seemed to register with the thing, even when she got it in the face.

It was a dragon after all.

“WHAT THE FUCK!?” Nyx shouted at no one in particular as she let her now useless gun scatter to the ground.  How did something like that even exist?
