Alden isn't a very popular boy, as most of the kids at his school ignore him, yet oddly he doesn't mind being alone, that is not that he realizes now, now he's home lying on his bed, lost in thought. Somehow his mind wandered to fantasy, and at thirteen fantasy meant adventure, this adventure however was interrupted before it could begin. "Alden, dinner!" his mother called him, and hearing his mother's call he slowly got up "aww I was just getting to the good part too..." he grumbled quietly, walking to the dinner table. "Daydreaming about some wild adventure again?" His mother smiled at the young lynx, who just replied with a nod, and after finishing his food went to bed early and quickly fell asleep. ***** Alden awoke late at night to a noise in another room of the house, a little while passed and no noise was heard, he closed his eyes again. "H-hello? Are you awake?.." Said a rather feminine voice next to him, the boy startled and opened his eyes to see a young girl, he let out a gasp. "I-I'm sorry I woke you up just please don't kick me out!" The girl panicked slightly, this calmed the boy and after a short pause he eased her worries "Don't worry I'm not gonna make you leave, that is if you'll answer my questions" the girl smiled. "Sure that's fair what do you want to know?" She replied. "Well first why don't we start with your name and why you're here?" The boy asked. "My name is Ariana and I'm here because it's cold outside..." She said trying to avoid telling him why she was there. "Then why don't you go home?" he had backed her into a corner "W-well..." she looked down "I don't have a home I grew up on the streets..." Alden felt guilty for bringing it up. "Well maybe you can live here, and I'm Alden by the way" he smiled at her attempting to cheer her up. "R-really?" she said almost in tears. He pulled her onto his bed and smiled. "Get comfy you can stay here tonight" She gasped with surprise and pulled him into a hug. "Thank you..." She whispered in his ear. Alden smiled, enjoying the hug, but then he noticed something strange, he could feel her fur against his which could only mean one thing, she was naked, he hadn't noticed before now, it was too dark and he was distracted. Adriana pulled away from him and smiled, not knowing how embarrassed he was. "A-Adriana why are you naked?.." she gave him a confused look. "Well I have no clothes, why is there something wrong with it?" Alden looked at her, embarrassed. "N-no it's fine" "Well good" she cuddled him, pulling the blankets over them. ***** It had been a few hours since Adriana got there, and Alden couldn't sleep, so he just thought about what had happened, and about her, all he could seem to figure out was that he wanted her to stay there. "What's wrong with me, why don't I want her to leave, it's not like I know her or anything, she just showed up in my room..." he mumbled to himself, thinking aloud, not realizing Adriana had woken up in time to hear him. "Oh don't worry Alden your just in love with me" She stuck her tongue out at him, teasing. Alden startled from her response. "W-what no, I didn't, I don't!" he paused for a moment to collect himself. "Umm how long have you been awake?" she giggled, obviously enjoying his reaction "Oh, just long enough to hear you want me to stay here" his ears drooped. "Well I don't want you to go back outside..." She looked at him, now feeling guilty for hurting him. "Aww come on I was just teasing" Alden wasn't feeling any better. "Fine just forget it..." Adriana felt even worse now "I'm sorry Alden I'll leave in the mourning..." Alden grabbed her, deciding he was overreacting "Adriana you don't have to leave over something so small..."Adriana smiled, feeling better "Good night Alden" she told him before going to sleep, Alden soon followed. ***** Alden woke up alone, there was no sign of Adriana, he panicked for a moment, thinking she had left "I can't believe I may have just ruined her one chance for a better life..." He was sad, but went to take his shower. A few minutes later he was done, he walked to the kitchen, and when he arrived he saw Adriana and his mother, they had just finished making breakfast, but he didn't care, all he cared about was that she was still there, she hadn't left. He ran to Adriana, hugging her at the first chance he got. "Umm Alden, is something wrong?" she didn't quite understand what was going on. "I thought you were gone..." Alden's mother soon interrupted. "Alden I think that's quite enough, now go sit down and let her go" Alden let go of Adriana, displeased his mother made him stop so soon, after letting go he noticed Adriana was wearing a light blue shirt with a slightly darker blue skirt. "Hey where did those clothes come from Adriana?" Adriana giggled. "You're mom got them for me, I still don't know how she could tell what size I was though" Alden blushed slightly. "Well, you look good" the two sat down at the table, breakfast was a simple ham and cheese omelet with toast on the side, which Adriana ate like it was a gourmet meal served by a five star chef, Alden on the other hand was starting to realize his mother hadn't mentioned anything about Adriana staying there, and as if on cue his mother spoke. "Alden, Adriana mentioned she needed somewhere to stay, if you want her to stay here then it's your job to make sure she feels at home, she'll stay in your room" Alden smiled. "Sure, I can do that" he tried not to show quite how excited he was, Adriana however did not, she jumped out of her chair "Yay! Thank you thank you thank you!" she hugged Alden's mother. After everyone finished eating, Alden left for school, his mom left for work, and Adriana stayed home, although she would have preferred to go to school with Alden.
