If you read the stories, I'd say each animal form fits their personalities quite well. It's name is Fukumen Hanji, which means Masked Judge. Though a single bladed sword, he has three releaes. Its first is summoned by chanting the first half of his release: Protect (or Defend) the Innocent. This yields a plainly designed scythe. Its abilities are mainly absorbing and reflecting attacks. The second release is summoned by chanting the second half, Punish the Wicked. This results in a jagged, crooked shaft with a grooved blade. This release is mainly offensive, and has poor blocking abilities (it can actually break in battle), forcing its weilder to dodge just about everything. It posesses a black aura which it can emitt as energy slashes, and shockwaves. It's real Release is summoned by the full chant, and is rarely used, to Fukumen Hanji's chagrin- Protect the Innocent, and Slay the wicked. This results in two sycles, each resembling a respective half of the release chant. they are connected to eachother through a segmented shaft that acts as a chain held together through pure energized reishin. While each blade is weaker than its specialized form, the over all weapon proves to be more versatile with the power and energy evenly distributed amongst the two.
