Dad (Kovu)
Nika is a daddy’s girl and they are very close.
Kovu can get her to do more than her mom or her siblings can. Like help cleaning their den or get her to take her hunting lessons. If Nika’s mom asks her to complete chores she’ll most likely decline. She’d rather go out and fight with her brothers. If Kovu gets her to do chores, then he shall also get her brothers, so they’ll learn that the chores aren’t only for lionesses. That way the work also goes faster and mostly it ends up being made into a game, so it’s more fun.
Kovu plays with Nika and her brothers, and if she has done something bad and got in trouble for it, then she will tell Kovu about it. In worst case, she will tell Kiara so she can help her talk to Kovu and Nala.
Kovu has a soft spot for Nika (like Nala for Atlas) so he lets her get away with more than he would with her brothers.
Mom (Nala)
Nika and Nala have a normal mom and daughter relationship and they are not as close as Nika and Kovu.
Nala is, for the most part, the one who’s responsible for Nika’s lessons, like hunting and the other duties of a lioness.
Nika mostly helps her mom and she is the one who normally gets her brothers when it’s dinner time.
Kiara (Older half-sister)
Nika and Kiara are not only sisters but they are also best friends. They tell each other secrets and Nika can tell Kiara anything, even things that she’d normally not tell to her parents.
Kiara helps Nika with some extra hunting practice. Usually, by playing hunting games with her and often, they end up hunting their brothers (mostly Leo) for fun.
When Nika playfights with her brothers, it sometimes ends up with them teaming up against Nika. But Kiara always comes in and helps Nika if she has a hard time winning.
If Nika has done something she could get in trouble for (like Nala grounding her or Kovu giving her a firm lecture), then it’s up to Kiara to step in to help Nika. She always knows what to say to calm Kovu so he won’t be hard on Nika. And while Kovu’s sweet little girl explains herself, Kiara talks to Nala to try to calm her down.
Atlas (Triplet brother)
Atlas is, undoubtedly, Nika’s favorite brother. The two of them get along just fine.
Sometimes, when they both need a break from Leo, they take a walk together and talk. Other times, they’re laying in the shadow of trees or bushes and watch the other animals in the savannah.
They also like to watch the clouds and come up with what they resemble. Occasionally, Nika joins Atlas outside the den to stargaze with him, something he loves to do.
She loves to play and playfight with Atlas (and Leo), even though her and Atlas play more than fight, even then she can easily win over him.
Leo (Triplet brother)
Nika’s relationship with Leo is the opposite of the one she has with Atlas. Her and Leo have a competing relationship.
One moment, they both compete with each other and then they’re playing. They do things like running, catch and similar games. Beside the constant competitions, they get along just fine.
But sometimes when Leo is acting a bit too annoying, Nika walks away to be with Kiara or Atlas. Nika sometimes, tells him to shut up, but that ends with the two getting into a fight.
When Nika and Leo playfight, they’re evenly matched, but it is Nika who is more likely to win. If Leo and Atlas team up against Nika then she’s the one to lose, but not if she gets help from Kiara in those fights.
When the cubs need to have their bath, Leo runs and hides, and it is always Nika who goes after him. She either drags him or chases him home. In worst case, she finds a way to scare him into running home to get his bath.
