Yet, no matter how aimless he thought he was, Toothless would always eventually find himself at his favorite lake. And indeed, that's where he ended up.\n\n\tThough fairly small for a lake, Toothless had always found it very relaxing to swim in it. It was something he did often, as he started taken swimming more seriously after a SECOND near-drowning experience. Sure, the water had been extremely cold then, but he really had no excuse for not learning. And learn he did; he could swim for half an hour before tiring, and hold his breath for about 8 minutes; long enough that he could swim from one end of the lake to the other, on just a single breath! Though, today, he didn't plan on challenging himself; he just wanted to have some fun in the water.\n\n\tHe slowly wades into the lake, a smile already forming on his face. Then, when his front paws could no longer touch the bottom, he kicked off the shore with his back paws, and began swimming along the surface.\n\n\tAfter a few minutes, Toothless idly dips his head under the water, squinting for a moment as his eyes adjust to it, before looking around the depths of the lake for half a minute or so. He then lifts his head from the water, takes a deep breath, and dives under the surface.\n\n\tFor a moment, he swam straight down, before noticing the patterns of light running over his body. He then decides to re-orient himself, facing his underside toward the surface, and looking over himself, his scales gleaming in the refracted sunlight. He decided to simply relax like this for a while, closing his eyes and blowing a few bubbles.\n\n\tDeep under the surface, Toothless' thoughts began to drift, as did his body in the slight current. He remembered the first time he was trapped underwater; he had been bound, so he couldn't even swim if he'd known how, and he panicked so much that he'd lost all his air. He was determined to not let that happen again; if it did, though, he would at least try to stay calm and conserve his oxygen. Though, he realized now, that there was something... Enjoyable... About that whole situation, despite the danger...\n\n\tA sudden twitch of his chest brought him back to reality, realizing that he'd been underwater for quite a while! He began to quickly make his way to the surface, leaking a stream of bubbles from his nostrils the whole time. Finally, after what seemed like ages, he breaks through the water's surface, gasping deeply and panting to catch his breath.\n\n\tAfter he had recovered, Toothless once again took a deep breath and dove underwater, this time deciding to swim all the way down to the bottom, about 100 feet down. He could handle the pressure just fine; he'd gone deeper before.\n\n\tSoon, he was floating just above the lakebed, feeling a little tension in his ears from the pressure, but nothing more. While it was rather dark this far down, with his excellent night vision, he could see just fine. A quick flick of his tail places his paws onto the bottom of the lake, kicking up a bit of silt, clouding the water. After taking in his aquatic surroundings for a moment, he began his favorite method of \"swimming\"; walking underwater, using his claws to grip the bottom and go a little quicker.\n\n\tHappily blowing bubbles, Toothless' mind once again began to wander to other aquatic experiences... Like when he had fallen into that frozen ocean, and, once again, nearly drowning. Now that he thought about it, he wasn't quite sure why he had had so much trouble swimming in that situation... Probably because he still wasn't very good at it at the time, but maybe the shock of falling into the freezing cold water sort of stunned him for a while? Would make sense; despite tending to fly at very high altitudes, he wasn't exactly a fan of the cold. In the air, he could blow a little fire to warm up, but that wasn't an option underwater.\n\n\tOnce again, Toothless is returned to reality by the growing discomfort in his chest, interrupting his underwater stroll with a burst of bubbles. Though, despite his growing need for air, he didn't want to surface just yet, deciding to just lay down on the bottom for a while. After a while, with him slowly growing more uncomfortable, his cheeks bulging with his stale air, and even letting out some strained grunts, he started feeling a little strange... Almost like...
