ingredients was, but Matts managed to make it engaging for the wolfdog. He was a natural conversationalist. \nHe was also inching and edging closer, bit by bit.\n“...I’ve got a pretty good relationship with all of my suppliers,” Matts continued. “You’d be surprised how far a bit of proper eye contact and a nice smile can take you.”\n\nThere it was. The flicker. For just an instant, Matts’ eyes rippled. A ring of dark blue in one eye, a ring of deep purple in the other. It [i]almost[/i] caught Kodi off-guard. Someone who wasn’t looking out for it or anticipated it would have been unable to resist that slight bump into their subconscious. \nSo, he was another ‘practitioner’. Kodi wasn’t going to let on that he knew the secret.\nAs Matts let that ripple of hypnotism float through his eyes, he let his fingers brush against Kodi’s on the table. He probably was expecting Kodi to be oblivious and fascinated, so, naturally, Kodi didn’t flinch.\n“I can see that,” Kodi said. “You’re very charming, I’ve gotta say.”\n“Thank you.” Matts smiled. Another brief feather-light pulse of colour flowed through his eyes, this time three rings. Kodi glanced at his watch, at his paw on the table. 10:29.
