She sniffed a finely\npruned flower more than half her own height.\n\n“Ah, there ain’t nuthin’ better than the sweet smell of roses in the mornin’, that’s for sure,” she\nsighed to herself.\n\nShe sat down on a bench to have a refreshing glass of orange juice and relax. As she sat there, she\nbegan to fall asleep. However, just as she was about to nod off, she was suddenly alerted by a loud\nengine noise coming from next door’s driveway. She peered over the fence just in time to see a huge\ntruck driving away. Written on the back of the truck was a sign.\n\nACME HOME TO HOME MOVING COMPANY\nNOTE: WE DO NOT MOVE ACTUAL HOUSES\n\nSandy glanced back at the driveway. A rickety old car was parked there, green with a sagging roof. It\nwas clear that a new neighbour had moved in, and she figured it would be a good idea to go over ad\nsay hello. With a swift karate leap, she cleared the fence. She strolled up the driveway and knocked\non the front door.\n\nAbout twenty seconds passed. Then, the door opened a crack.\n\n“Who is it?” said a voice from behind the door.\n\n“I’m Sandy Cheeks,” said Sandy. “I live next door, and I came round to welcome you.”\n\nThe door opened, and Sandy almost jumped back with surprise. It was another squirrel, grey with a\nwhite face and a green hat, out of which sprouted a small yellow flower. She looked considerably\nolder than Sandy, almost elderly. Deep wrinkles surrounded her eyes, adding to the mixture of\nindifference and distaste clearly showing on her face. Sandy noticed she was carrying an umbrella\nand a small handbag, both clearly very old as well.\n\n“I don’t need any welcomes,” said the grey squirrel. “I just came to Texas for my retirement.”\n\nSandy was still a little stunned. It had been years since she had met a new squirrel, and even longer\nsince she had met a grey one.\n\n“Sorry,” said Sandy. “I just like meetin’ new folk, miss... what was your name?”\n\n“Slappy.”\n\n“Slappy. Well Slappy, it’s nice to meet you. What made you decide to live in Texas?”\n\nSlappy sighed. “I just wanted to get away from the urban sprawl, you know, live somewhere real\npeaceful and quiet. By the way, you wouldn’t have any advice on gardening, would you?”\n\nThat was all Sandy needed to hear. “Sure! Let me show you my flowers, there ain’t nuthin’ like em in\nthe whole darn county!” she said enthusiastically. She led Slappy round to her garden. As they rounded the gate, Slappy almost gasped with shock. The\ngarden was enormous, brimming with exotic plant life. Oak trees stretched as far as the eye could\nsee, bordered by sunflowers ten feet high. A giant redwood stood central, towering over a small hut\nand a bench at the base, a massive treehouse at the top.\n\nSlappy was gobsmacked. “How can you afford all this?!” she stammered.\n\n“Easy! I’m a TV star!” said Sandy. “I’ve got a starring role in Spongebob Squarepants!”\n\n“Sponge what now?” said Slappy, more than a little confused.\n\n“Only the best darn show on TV!”\n\nSlappy was slightly taken aback by this. Little did Sandy know that Slappy used to star in another\ncartoon back in the 90’s.\n\n“Are you sure?” she asked. “If I remember rightly, Animaniacs had way higher viewing figures when\nit first came out. I should know, I was in it!”\n\nSandy snorted. “PUH-LEASE! Spongebob Squarepants is way better!”\n\nSlappy was now getting very irritated. “Now hold on a second, young lady! Are you trying to say\nyou’re better than me?”\n\n“I suppose you could say that, old-timer!”\n\nThat was the last straw. Slappy lunged at Sandy, but Sandy simply struck back with her best\nroundhouse kick. This should have floored her, but Slappy reached into hammerspace and pulled out\nan enormous shield. Sandy’s foot made contact with it and simply bounced off. She dropped to the\nfloor, dizzy from the impact.\n\nAt this point, Slappy knew that she needed to teach Sandy a lesson. She grabbed the younger\nsquirrel by the arm, dragged her over to the base of the redwood tree and sat down on the bench.\nSandy started to come to her senses just as she was being pulled over Slappy’s knee. Needless to\nsay, Sandy immediately started to struggle, but Slappy kept her firmly pinned in place.\n\n“I wouldn’t bother struggling, Sandy. It’s time I taught you a little lesson you won’t forget, and\nmaybe next time you’ll think twice before crossing the better squirrel!”\n\nWith that, Slappy grabbed hold of Sandy’s tail and lifted it out of the way, exposing her rear,\nprotected only by a purple skirt and green bikini bottom. Slappy took aim, raised her hand, and\nsmacked Sandy’s bottom as hard as she could. Sandy yelped in pain and surprise as the spanks\nstarted coming hard and fast. Slappy continued to spank Sandy for about two minutes. Then, she\npaused to speak.\n\n“So, Sandy, who’s the world’s greatest cartoon squirrel?”\n\nEver defiant, even with her backside in quite a lot of pain, Sandy smirked. “You’re gonna have to do better than that, wrinkles,” she snorted. “I’M the better squirrel!”\n\nSlappy finally lost it. It was a beautiful day in the wide open spaces of Texas. The sun was shining, the flowers were
blooming, and Sandy Cheeks was having a wonderful time tending to her garden. She sniffed a finely
pruned flower more than half her own height.
“Ah, there ain’t nuthin’ better than the sweet smell of roses in the mornin’, that’s for sure,” she
sighed to herself.
She sat down on a bench to have a refreshing glass of orange juice and relax. As she sat there, she
began to fall asleep. However, just as she was about to nod off, she was suddenly alerted by a loud
engine noise coming from next door’s driveway. She peered over the fence just in time to see a huge
truck driving away. Written on the back of the truck was a sign.
ACME HOME TO HOME MOVING COMPANY

Sandy glanced back at the driveway. A rickety old car was parked there, green with a sagging roof. It
was clear that a new neighbour had moved in, and she figured it would be a good idea to go over ad
say hello. With a swift karate leap, she cleared the fence. She strolled up the driveway and knocked
on the front door.
About twenty seconds passed. Then, the door opened a crack.
“Who is it?” said a voice from behind the door.
“I’m Sandy Cheeks,” said Sandy. “I live next door, and I came round to welcome you.”
The door opened, and Sandy almost jumped back with surprise. It was another squirrel, grey with a
white face and a green hat, out of which sprouted a small yellow flower. She looked considerably
older than Sandy, almost elderly. Deep wrinkles surrounded her eyes, adding to the mixture of
indifference and distaste clearly showing on her face. Sandy noticed she was carrying an umbrella
and a small handbag, both clearly very old as well.
“I don’t need any welcomes,” said the grey squirrel. “I just came to Texas for my retirement.”
