Nurses, orderlies and doctors rush around treating survivors of the massive burning to be transported to another medical building. Half way down the long hallway at the nurses’ station the Darkfang High Guard have set up a command center to protect the people. Kia’s twisted spirit pressure rages all around weighting down people to the point people pass out unable to breath and making walking is almost impossible Darick slowly walks up to the solders on guard duty, each step making him feel like he carries lead weights on his shoulders. The mouse bows his head.\n\n“Where is General Nightsong?” Darick asks. “I need to know what happened.”\n\nBoth guards look at Darick a little worried.\n\n“Sir, you should return to the palace, Lord Markus wouldn’t want you here.” One of the guards says. “The general is retrieving a sealing spell from the library to put an end to this. You must leave before the creature.”\n\n“Creature?!” Darick cries. “He’s not a monster! He’s my friend! Let me pass!”\n\nDarick goes to push pass the guard but they quickly take him in hand.\n\n“Sir please!” The guards cry. “You can’t! He’s gone mad! He’ll destroy you!”\n\nSlow steps echo through the hallway and the guard turn. All the solders turn from duties looking at the figure covered by shadows walking to the command center. The figure stops and lets out a hollow cry before he starts laughing. Kia’s voice comes from the figure only with a hollow echo.\n\n“My my, is this little party for me?” Kia says. “I’m touched really but what makes you think any of you are a match for me? FOOLS!”\n\n“KIA!” Darick cries. “What’s wrong? Did you do this? You have to stop! Please Kia stop this, it’s madness! You’re not a monster!”\n\nKia still in the shadows lifts his two bladed scythe and puts it over his shoulders.\n\n“Poor little mouse.” Kia laughs. “I’m more a monster than you know but your protectors are worse than me. Altering my memories and sticking me with a father like I was some little kid to live a life that isn’t mine, it’s sickening! I’ll reduce this land to ashes before I leave and no one will stop me!”\n\n“Oh Kia...” Darick says lowering his head. “This is what you feared, you felt yourself slipping away didn’t you?”\n\nKia laughs more.\n\n“Slipping, no.” Kia says. “That’s way off, I felt myself coming back.”\n\nDarick lets out a sad sigh flashing back remembering the day Kia told him about his nightmares of him fighting General Nightsong, all the people he saw die by his hands.\n\n\tIt was late that, 10 or 11 at night and the two are hanging out in a gazebo built over the large river by the bridge named by the pack Big Bridge to the wilds of the floating continent. Lord Markus had been on Darick for weeks not to hang out with Kia and the mouse couldn’t understand why so he didn’t listen.\n\n“Darick.” Kia says. “I’m afraid man, my nightmares are getting worse and I feel myself slipping more. I feel like I’ve forgotten something big and all the adults know what it is. I’m afraid to tell anyone because I think that’s what they’re waiting for.”\n\nThe mouse wraps his arms around the wolf and smiles.\n\n“You wouldn’t hurt people Kia that’s not you.” Darick says. “You’re too good a person to harm anyone.”\n\n“How do you know when I can’t even remember that far back?” Kia asks.\n\nDarick pulls back looking Kia in the eyes.\n\n“I know what I see in your eyes.” Darick says. “Look, if something happens I promise I’ll be there for you. I wont turn my back on you and I’ll bring you back even if it kills me.”\n\n\tDarick shudders recovering from his memories as Kia laughs that hollow’s laugh. Kia tilts his head ever so slightly as a jet black furred wolf walks up behind the mouse boy.\n\n“Welcome Valos.” Kia says. “I see you just couldn’t resist coming to this party.”\n\n“Darick you need to leave.” Valos says placing his hand on the hilt of his Zanpakuto. “This creature isn’t your friend anymore and it’s time he was ended!”\n\nKia laughs as Darick turns putting his arms out to block Valos.\n\n“NO!” Darick cries. “He’s in there somewhere! I can reach him, I know it!”\n\n“He’s slaughtered to many and I’ve let it go on long enough.” Valos says. “Guards! Take Darick back to the palace! He shouldn’t have to watch this.”\n\nKia laughs more as the guard take Darick by the shoulders forcing him to move.\n\n“You’ve got to be joking Valos.” Kia laughs. “You’ve never had the power to end me or you’d have done it already. Last time you tried I left you laying in a pool of your own blood and your daddy had to bail you out. What should I do to you this time? Gut you like a deer?”\n\nFor a moment the rage of the dog demon rages in Valos as flames erupt in his eyes but he quickly pushes the rage back. Valos starts to draw his sword but Darick thrusts free of the guards.\n\n“VALOS NO!” Darick cries as he flash steps to Valos winding his arms around the large jet black furred wolf.\n\n“Darick you fool get off me!” Valos cries as he struggles to free himself trying not to hurt the boy. “He’ll destroy us all!”\n\nKia steps into the light revealing his fully hollowfied form. His lifeless black eyes gleam in the light and Darick gasps clinging hard to Valos. Kia raises his hand slicing two fingers with his claw and points them at Valos. A Cero starts charging and black flames engulf it. The Cero quickly charges turning from red to jet black as Kia smirks at Valos. For a moment Kia’s eyes flash normal green than return to lifeless black as the Cero slowly powers down and his hand lowers. Valos shakes his head looking at Kia confused by this\n\n“No…” Kia says in a low voice. “Not here, now or in this way. “NO!” Darick cries. “He’s in there somewhere! I can reach him, I know it!”

“He’s slaughtered to many and I’ve let it go on long enough.” Valos says. “Guards! Take Darick back to the palace! He shouldn’t have to watch this.”

Kia laughs more as the guard take Darick by the shoulders forcing him to move.

“You’ve got to be joking Valos.” Kia laughs. “You’ve never had the power to end me or you’d have done it already. Last time you tried I left you laying in a pool of your own blood and your daddy had to bail you out. What should I do to you this time? Gut you like a deer?”
