When he stoically opened the vest to confirm with his eyes what his paws felt, and sure enough, they were gone. He turned back to question Zanelli, but by then the bully was already running back to the schoolhouse, along with everyone else. He just sent Giovanni a wink as he ran, as if to confirm their deal. Giovanni was in a daze for the rest of the school day thinking about that wink. Zanelli was a bully, and he was sure that he would make him do something for the change he’d dropped.
