Tonight was the night that Steven had been preparing for all this time. The plants were in place, the guards on their patrols had their paths memorized, security cameras were taken care of, and a particular ploy would give Steven some time to make a get-away. The white wolf was hanging on a tree branch just outside of the window where the Voynich Manuscript was being displayed. He waited until he saw go past the window, the security guard that was patrolling through this particular wing of exhibits that the text was in. Steven then began to make his move; he had only twelve minutes before the guard would come back. If he couldn’t finish everything within that time period then trouble would ensue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Noah gazed down at the blueprints of the target for one last time. It all came down to this. Tonight was the night where DOD’s investigation would come to a screeching halt. The next morning, DOD agents would come in to find all files and information on S/D would have vanished, unrecoverable. Of course there would be some completely unrelated data that would be wiped clean as well, but that was the price to erase the organization’s tracks. The black wolf turned around and saw Scratch completely outfitted for the mission. “Are you ready soldier, failure is not an option.” Noah said. “Sir yes Sir!” Scratch shivered; again there was that strange quality that sometimes emerged in Noah’s voice. It wasn’t like the hypnotic voice that was one of S/D most useful tools. Instead of being able to give commands Noah’s voice seemed to cause others to become hot and bothered. The fox noticed that he wasn’t the only one who was hit by this effect. Other agents that were assigned to this mission showed uncomfortable reactions to the effect in Noah’s voice. Some of the less mentally sturdy agents actually flushed deeply and suddenly crossed their legs. That wasn’t the only power that Noah seemed to possess. When the group was planning on which entry points to utilize, occasionally the black wolf would stare off into the distance and then either reject a suggested entry point or select another infiltration point which had a low priority. In short Noah was an intriguing member of S/D. “Everybody in position, we only have one shot at this” Deon stated from his radio. He had left early to set himself in place. “Affirmative Deon” Noah said “Well Scratch see you on the other side.” The black wolf suited up. The operation would soon start and it was possible that something on Ben would turn up. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steven concentrated on a particular point in the window where earlier that day he placed a certain something in the lock. That certain something stirred and tumblers within the lock were jiggled and twisted and the window was unlocked. The white wolf had put on some gloves and lifted the window up with difficulty. He then slipped into the exhibit room. There in its case was the Voynich Manuscript illuminated by a several display lights. Cameras were placed in certain positions to maintain security but they would be obscured for a few moments thanks to the tiny lives that would wither after this heist was over. The white wolf had to be careful now and focused, and slowly the glass case that the book was under was lifted up. Steven quickly slid the text out and replaced it with a card saying “Removed for cleaning”. The book was now in Steven’s possession, now he had to get out of there. He firmly replaced the glass cover back to where it belonged and quietly moved towards the window. The wolf pulled down the window and made sure that it didn’t slam. Concentrating again the window suddenly locked itself and Steven dropped down from the tree branch outside the window. When he landed on the ground Steven staggered around a bit for a few moments and was feeling completely drained. His work still wasn’t finished though. Now Steven had to make his get away. ----------------------------------------------------------- Scratch quickly moved through the corridors of the building. The fox was tasked with subduing any security guards that were not affiliated with S/D. Some of the guards would just be knocked out and given a mild hypnotic suggestion to forget about their blackout. The fortunate ones that were more receptive to hypnosis were given further hypnotic commands that would linger and eventually bring them into S/D’s fold. The fox stealthily moved behind unsuspecting sentries and with a quick twist sent them to dreamland. The more handsome guards had the ill luck to come to work that day as Scratch threw in a few fondles of their bulges at their expense. Even while having a little fun Scratch paid attention to the radio transmitter in his ear. All of the agents were giving whispered progress reports on their activities. Everything was moving smoothly, and all the collected data was being downloaded and then formatted so that the data would be unrecoverable. Progress was swift and it seemed that the mission would be finished ahead of schedule. Everybody was checking in for the last time when Scratch noticed out of the windows that there seemed to be a male, a bright white against the darkness outside of the building. Normally the fox would take evasive maneuvers to avoid being seen and just ignore this. However Scratch overheard someone on the radio taking a deep breath in. Then Noah said over the radio “Everyone mission complete, we’re pulling out now.” Every other agent replied their affirmations but Scratch heard some tension in Noah’s voice. “Sir, requesting that I follow you for back-up sir!” Scratch said. There was a pause and Noah replying that this was something to be likely personal and didn’t require a waste of S/D personnel. “Sir but it might have to do with Ben sir!” The fox replied and the smug tone in his voice said that he wasn’t taking no for an answer. There was a sigh as told everybody else to return to base to upload the collected information to S/D’s database and reluctantly agreed to let Scratch be back-up, telling the fox to keep an eye on the white male outside the building. Scratch nodded and began to move making sure that the new target did not escape them.
