This story is about two neighbors: Harry, a timberwolf, and Ed, an Old English sheepdog. They lived next door to each other in a suburb of the American capital. Harry would constantly harass Ed for being "too tame" and Ed would harass Harry back for being "too wild." This got them into arguments very easily, and caused quite a stir in the neighborhood, especially at night when everyfurry is supposed to be asleep. The two's bickering did not disturb a family of mice that lived near the edge of the city, they could sleep through anything. But many of the other furs were kept awake by all that ruckus. Some of them just accepted it, some were pretty annoyed, and a few quietly plotted revenge. One neighbor in particular, Chase Banks, a Landrace pig, could not stand it. From the moment he moved in across the street from them, Harry and Ed's quarrels frustrated Banks. After a month, Chase could not take it anymore. He suggested to his spouse, Victoria, a creative idea: attempt to regress Ed and Harry to pups via a combination of telepathy, biokinesis, and hypnosis, all of which Chase was expertised in. The idea tingled in her brain, as she was considering having children and was looking for cubs to practice with. For those unfamiliar with the term, telepathy is a completely different process from hypnosis. While hypnosis is the submission to a trancelike state, telepathy refers to the direct communication between two or more fursons by psychic means. In other words, it is the ability to speak with your mind, which makes for a good method for hypnosis. Similarly, biokinesis means using the exact same means to control how one's body works or, to a lesser extent, appears. Put all of these together and you have the perfect payback plan. Right away, Chase began practicing these abilities, and when the timing was right, he invited Ed and Harry over for dinner. It was Chase's favorite: kimchi (Chase is fanatical for Korean food). Harry and Ed enjoyed it, too. After dinner, Chase asked them to follow him into the basement. >Honestly, neither of us have ever known somefurry who was telepathic. >Well, they said the mind is a terrible thing to waste. Did I mention that I'm also telekinetic? >Really? Interesting. >Now, just stand over there for a second. The wolf and the dog stood in front of Chase, just outside his personal space. Chase then put his hands on either side of his head, with his palms close to his forehead, and his pupils started dilating and constricting. Suddenly, the whites of Ed and Harry's eyes turned a light blue. Their hearing was also semi-disabled; all they could hear was Chase's voice saying these words telepathically: >There is nothing wrong with your hearing. I am controlling your thoughts. My voice is the only thing you are hearing right now. You are about to surrender your willpower. Everything I tell you, you will do. When you fall out of my trance, you will fall asleep. When you wake up, your will have escaped the frustration of adulthood and have gone back to better days. The hypnotized furs followed Chase back upstairs. He ordered them to change into nightwear and lay in sleeping bags on the guestroom floor. Chase lightly tapped their foreheads to get them out of his trance, and when they did, they slowly closed their eyes. >[whispering] Good night, boys. Overnight, his wizardry went to work. For every fifteen minutes that passed, Ed and Harry, in their sleep, regressed one year, until they woke up in the middle of the night from a bad dream that Harry had. >Are you okay, Harry? >Yeah. It was just a bad dream. >What dream did you have? >Well, I was all alone. I was rolling a big donut and this snake wearing a vest-- >Hey. I think something happened while we were asleep. You look and sound like you're younger. >So do you. They looked in their pajama bottoms to find that their underneaths had shrunk (but were still sensitive) and there was no sign of crotch fur. >We are younger! The alarm clock went off. >At our age, you know what that means. Ed turned off the alarm and the pups rushed to get ready to go outside and wait for the bus. While they were waiting, Chase and Victoria looked at the pups from inside. >How long should it be before we tell them it's Saturday? They laughed. Chase's idea worked, and as bad as things were in the neighborhood, that was how good they became. The Bankses submitted an adoption form for Ed and Harry, whom they decided to have "home schooled" to dodge any expensive and unnecessary red tape (besides, they already went through grade school once). The biokinesis portion had not only reversed the aging process, it also prevented it from going forward again, which meant Ed and Harry would be left with cub-proportioned bodies and minds, and were therefore subject to mandatory adult guardians, for life. One side effect of this was the loss of bladder and bowel control, but they regained these quickly. They were also still able to do household chores and prepare meals, which spared Chase and Victoria a lot of elbow grease. Furthermore, the chance of Ed and Harry harassing one another was still present, but because they were under adult possession, Chase had greater control over it, spanking them every time this happened. This eventually got them to stop teasing altogether, which meant all the neighbors can finally have peace and quiet since Ed and/or Harry (whoever arrived last) moved in. However, in spite of all this, it was Ed and Harry who benefitted the most; at that dinner, neither fur even bothered to reveal to Chase one major statistic: what their biggest turn-on was. Had Chase brought it up, he would have learned that what made Ed and Harry rut harder than anything was the thought of acting and talking like children in front of another fur. Like any thirtysomething, when they weren't pestering each other as adults, they were reminiscing about their [first] cubhoods. In fact, when they woke up just before the alarm clock went off, they weren't surprised the least when they discovered the hypnosis's effects. Sure, Chase would have hypnotized them into something else had he known, but as it turns out, Ed and Harry's dreams to be cubs again had come true and they were happy that it did. In a nutshell, everyone got what they wanted; peace and quiet in the neighborhood, Ed and Harry got their cubhoods back, and Chase never had to use his abilities again. Well, I mean almost never.
