Outside, voices can be heard.[/i]\n\n[b]Senator 1[/b]:  Is the message you're trying to get across to us, the committee, that this faux-pas, steaming bale of toilet waste you call a \"television network\" is of some significant value to our society?\n[b]Schroeder[/b]:  What you must keep in mind, Senators, is that DoubleVision was only allowed onto the air in spite of protests from Congress, the FCC, and numerous watchdog groups, only after we fought for the fundamentals of freedom of speech and fair use of the broadcasting spectrum in Supreme Court, where we were allowed to commence broadcasts. In that landmark decision, the court was fully aware of our intentions in setting up an uncensored and free television network, one that would not only be run entirely by furries, but its programming would be targeted towards furries and would only feature furries.\n\n[i]A guard opens a door as we are allowed into the committee room. Nathan Schroeder (a fox), president, owner, and founder of DoubleVision, the most-watched of the over-the-air networks, is under Senate investigation, out of the suspicion that DoubleVision's lack of censorship is to blame for the gradual perversion of the American population. To Schroeder's right is his wife, Jillian (another fox), and to his left is their lawyer (a squirrel).[/i]\n\n[b]Senator 2[/b]:  Order. Order in committee. [i][pounds gavel][/i] Mr. Schroeder, we have listened, very patiently, to four days of your prepared testimony, and nowhere have you attempted to defend your programming's content or the questionable sponsors it tends to attract. In fact, not once have you acknowledged the facts that describe how your \"furry television,\" or so you call it, has tainted our youth's innocence, stagnated the minorities' worth, and left the other six networks with barely any viewers whatsoever.\n[b]Schroeder[/b]:  DoubleVision is popular because freedom is popular. \n\n[i]The audience murmurs.[/i]\n\n[b]Senator 2[/b]:  Well, I guess it's freedom that's caused... [i][looks at paper, which looks like it has messy scribbling on it] [mumbling][/i] I-I can't read this...\n\n[i]Senator 1 whispers in his ear.[/i]\n\n[b]Senator 2[/b]:  ...A reversal of the sexual orientation ratio, as well as increased incidences of... [i][continues to peer at paper][/i] ...exhibitionism, child-on-child sexual abuse, and fursons just forgetting about work or school or whatever, [i][looks at Schroeder again][/i] I submit to you, Mr. Schroeder, that you've hypnotized the public into watching your network, day and night, and promptly turned this country into a country of shut-ins.\n[b]Schroeder[/b]:  As you know, half a decade of depression can definitely be held accountable for increased delinquency. And it doesn't hurt for a straight fur to be queer once in a while, I should know. Whilst for the incredible number of viewers, let me say that I merely select the programs, if our viewers wish to watch them day and night, that is merely a reflection of our society. Fursons need to fantasize, and, let me be honest here, this, unfortunately, is not a very pretty world.\n\n[i]The audience applauds.
