As they arrived at the small town, a few minutes away, the paladin insisted in the importance of their goal. Darken was fed up though.
“We wasted our time miserably looking for a mirage. I haven’t had a decent meal or a nice bath in months. I’m not interested in helping you now. If you come up with a better plan, I might reconsider it, but I just want to relax for the time being.” The team split to her dismay, but there was nothing else she could do to reunite them.
Once she was gone, his centaur friend talked in confidence with him.
“You know, it’s been a while since I had some sexy fun. I’m gonna get a wench, you in?”
Darken smirked, though he moved his head side to side. “I’m dying to get some pussy, but I’m not paying for one. I never did, and never will. Why don’t we look for girls that want it for free, like the old days?”
“Alright” the centaur agreed. Darken was sure he didn’t need to spend money on a whore, especially now that he had acquired his incubus powers. He had the charisma and the looks to woo any female he wanted.
Both friends walked to a nearby tent, which seemed to be the town’s bar. The place was filled with people. There were lots of warriors. Most of them were playing a game of chance, throwing small bones and predicting how they landed on the tapestry. Everyone sat on the ground, sipping drinks from wooden bowls. The ambience was lively even though there wasn’t any music. It was a good place to relax and meet people.
After surveying the interior, the panther located what they were looking for. On the other side of the teepee, there were a centaur and a tigress, both gorgeous women. Darken was immediately attracted to the feline girl. She had a perfect score on his scale, perfect body, round ass, juicy breasts, the whole deal. He already started getting a stiff just thinking of all the things he would do to her. However, there was a problem, due to the fact both were embracing a duck guy. Nevertheless, they walked around, looking for a spot to sit down. The panther guided his friend to a place by the side of the girls. They ordered a few drinks and exchanged a few glares to them.
“Hello, newcomers.” The duck approved them with a nod. The girls smiled at the attractive guys. They seemed interested in those foreigners. “What brings you to the Duck lands?”
“Oh, we’re back from a long mission. Now we just want to rest and relax.” Darken mentioned casually, while sweeping his glare over the tigress. She giggled. She knew he was checking her out, but she didn’t mind. She was also looking into his pants and seemed intrigued by him.
“Good, you’ve come to the right place.” The duck man noticed the felines’ silent communication. “As a military outpost, we understand the needs of warriors. You’ll enjoy your time here.” He made a pause. He looked at both friends. They seemed to fit their kind of people. “Hey, I know you’ve just arrived, but I see you’re interested in these fine girls. We organize deathmatches. Each time you win, you can earn gold, land, fame, or even one of these beautiful ladies. You only pay a small fee each time you fight. Win 10 fights in a row, and you will receive the Duck King’s favor.”
“Hmmm.” Darken pondered his thoughts. He glanced back and forth to the tigress, who stared him with some obvious bedroom eyes. The tigress teased the panther, as she let one of her top drapes slip, revealing her breast in an obvious attempt to lure him in. Darken didn’t need further convincing. “We’re interested, can you tell us about them?”
“They’re very experienced. They worked for us giving moral support to our troops. I can attest they perform their duties superbly. I’m sure you’ll enjoy them thoroughly if you win.”
Both friends agreed in entering the deathmatch. “Good, my friends.” The duck man saluted them. “Let me take you to the battleground so we can arrange your next fight. After that, you should rest. Come.”
The duck man lead them outside, into a big area surrounded with tents, and some sort of arena with a caged enclosure. The sound of swords clinging was loud and prevalent. There were many duck warriors. Some of them trained in a separate area, while most remained inside the arena, shouting and booing the performance of the gladiators in that particular moment. Even though they hadn’t been admitted officially in the guild, everyone was friendly and waved back at them as they were seen as equals, warriors with the same set of standards. They were soon standing before the duck in charge of the guild.
“Welcome.” He greeted them amicably. “So, you’re interested in joining our guild? I’m pretty sure you’ll feel like home. We’re all warriors linked by honor and loyalty. As long as you’re here, you’ll be regarded as fellows and can gain access to any area of our town. Cowardice is not tolerated, and you shall be killed if you fail to defend your brethren or decide to not participate in our deathmatches events at least once every season. Actually, it’s quite encouraged to partake in them, because the Duck King watches them, and if you impress him, he might grant favors to you.”
“We’re warriors, we don’t surrender. If we have to die, so be it.” The centaur mentioned solemnly. Darken nodded.
“Excellent! Your battle will be at the first strike of dawn. I wish you good luck and a lengthy career in our guild.” They went back to a tent to sleep, preparing for their battle in the morning.
