“We could trek down the Route” The well-versed dimension specialist mentioned. The robot leader remained silent. As the others waged in their ideas, the prospect of spending their time following the Route gained momentum. Every adventurer knew about the mother of all tests in their world. The Route was a grueling compound of fifty tasks, adapted to fit the strengths of the individuals or groups entering it. It was a long-winded road, filled with enemies, crevasses and every kind of puzzles, where only the wittier, stronger and who could quickly adjust to the lack of food and resources could be victorious. The levels adjusted their difficulties in accordance to the general strength of the group. However, five bosses remained always the same, no matter the team, those at the checkpoints 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50. The last boss was always a legendary dragon. If they successfully beat every level, every person involved could ask for an item that could grant them immense power.
“This sounds insane” the leader disagreed after hearing the whole explanation. “Why should we commit to this?”
“The monsters are infected.” The alchemist proceeded. “The biggest concentrations will be near civilization. There might be some people traversing the Route, but I doubt they will carry the disease. Other important fact is the Route takes place in different dimensions parallel to our world. Once a group is detected, they can’t exit or change their lane. That means that even if monsters enter The Route, they won’t cross over our path. It’s painstakingly difficult, but it takes a long time to finish, which means the probability of being annihilated is reduced to a minimum.”
“Have you done it?” Johnny inquired Lori about the fact. She shook his head negatively. She had spent her life in another place, in the forest. She probably was oblivious of its existence.
The crew voted unanimously to enter the Route. It was their best chance of survival into the later stages of the dimension. They quickly moved to the entrance, though it took them a week to arrive at the portal. Meanwhile, the announcement was made. The god’s voice resonated through the land, delivering the message far and wide. It was inescapable. The grave voice vibrated inside everyone’s bodies, making them know in essence that the god had done nothing interesting in a long time, that the stability provided by heroes was boring and wanted to have some fun unleashing these creatures to break the status quo and run amok weakening those almost omnipotent people. The message was brief. It might have taken less than five minutes to be completed. Their effects, though, would take some time to fully unravel.
Fortunately, the journey to the portal had been uneventful, though some minor creatures did hurt them when they were about to step inside. Everyone needed to be at the marked spot within five seconds or else they would be separated, decreasing their chance of success. They had to run and dodge because every minute they spent outside could be their last if a monster came along. Once they materialized, they noticed the eerie solitude of the path that extended to the horizon. It felt surreal. Even though their sides seemed open, there was some sort of invisible wall that didn’t let them astray by more than 100 meters. They could walk forward though, so they did.
The first series of tests were easy. They usually had to walk for a while, and after that they had to defeat some weakling, which took about a minute of time. After killing the foe, the group received a small reward, and moved on. The first seven encounters where inconsequential. They had to defeat slimes, creatures that weren’t a threat for a group of almost ten adventurers with some experience killing foes. Although these were easy tasks, as they progressed, they noticed each test became farther apart. If the separation between the first and second checkpoints was ten minutes, when they were between the seventh and eighth it took them about forty-five minutes of walking. The scenery did change, but they were becoming tired, as there was no way to know if night had arrived. It was a good moment to stop, so they set camp and prepared to rest.
The flawless victories until then had a positive effect on the party’s morale. They quickly gulped their food-pills and enjoyed some time to unwind. When everyone was minding their own business, Johnny approached Lori and scrubbed his arm enough to make her aware of his invitation. The silent language they were developing to avoid scrutiny from their peers was helpful for cracking his shell. She nodded and took his hand, letting him guide her to the tent’s bathroom.
They disrobed and entered the temperate stream of water that poured over their heads. They swooned at each other, as they embraced and kissed passionately under the flow. “Do you have something in mind?” Lori purred as his strength protected of the water.
“Lots of things, but I’m taking your advice instead of moping.” He sniffed her with a smirk. She obliged as she became more intense in her licking and touching. Johnny was falling quickly into her charm, though he wanted to ask her something before they succumbed to their instincts. “Sweetie, let’s say you could come back with us… would we be together?”
She kissed him amorously, as they became increasingly closer. “Of course, Johnny. I don’t see myself with anyone else. You make me very happy, and that’s what matters.”
Johnny insisted. “And what would you like us to do? Go on adventures?”
“I’m a simple gal, I want to marry you and give you lots of cubs. Everything else is welcome.”
Everything was becoming very heated. “Is that so?” Johnny hummed, sliding his muzzle down her back. She swooned as he kept pushing her buttons. “So… would we have lots of…” He was expectant and incredibly horny. He couldn’t hide it, even though he was embarrassed. Uttering those words still felt strange to him. Lori was happy to see him opening himself, so decided to encourage him further. His cock peeked in between her legs. It was time for some action.
“That’s a given, isn’t it?” Lori sweetly caressed his muzzle, as she guided his hands to some spicier areas. “It is the best way to show how much we love each other. Don’t hold back, you can mate me whenever you want to. You’re my alpha male after all.” She did know how to push his buttons.
Johnny thrusted slowly, nibbling her ear playfully. “Alright, I’ll keep it in mind.” He felt freer, less hesitant to ask for sexual relief to his girlfriend, and most important, their bond strengthened to an unbreakable point, where trust and loyalty became rock solid for both.
