Saba’s sleepover By Janus Oberoth Saba and her best friends are in the boiler room. All them are sit in a circle to chat with more facility. “You look tired.” Saba says looking to a black female dog seated at her right, she yawns at that moment. “Yes, my girl's friends did not let me sleep in all the night” Akira responds. She had brown eyes just like her mother. She has white paws and her tail's tip. “Were they many?” Darla asks looking to Akira. Darla is the young sister of Dusty, for that reason she is practically identical to her older sister, but she has sky-blue eyes, very different to the eyes of her sister. “Yes, she and her friends had a sleepover.” Akira responds looking at her friends. “What is that?” Taska asks with interested. She is seated to the left of Saba; she is a husky with brown fur, Taska has sky-blue eyes. “My girl and her friends have fun; they chat about boys and other things.” Akira responds looking at Taska. “We should make something like that.” Kaisa says very encouraged. She is sit at the right of Taska. She is female with a fur of chestnut color; she has a white patch surrounding her right eye. “Yes, a girls' night.” Darla says waging her tail. She sees that her friends are very excited about Kaisa's idea, the little group begins to discuss about her friend's idea. “Everything sounds very well, but we have a problem.” Taska says looking to her friends. They look at her with attention. “Where will we make it?” Taska asks looking at her friends. They look between themselves; all of them did thought on the place where they would do it. “What if we do it here?” Kaisa asks looking at her friends. “No, it is very a public place; we should look for a place where anybody will not bother us.” Saba responds looking at Kaisa. She is a little regretted by her suggestion. “What if we do it under the hospital?” Saba asks looking at her friends. “No, that place should be dirty and dusty.” Darla responds looking at Saba. The rest of the females are agreed with her. “Yes, it is truth, but my father...” Saba says. She cannot say more because Darla interrupts her. “Your father” Darla says looking at Saba. Saba looks at her with confusion just like the rest of her friends. “We can do it in the house of your father, so anybody will bother us.” Darla says looking at her friends. They look convinced with the idea of Darla, but Saba is not very sure with the idea. “I don't know, maybe my father will not accept.” Saba says trying anticipating her father's possible reaction. “Come on, it does not hurt anything asking it.” Darla says looking to Saba. She notices that her friends look at her in the same way, trying to encourage her. “Will your parents give you permission?” Saba asks looking at her four friends. They nod. “We will see as to convince to our parents.” Taska says looking at the rest of her friends that agree. “Okay, I will be going to talk with my father in this moment.” Saba says while she stands up and leaves the boiler room. Saba walks by the street heading toward the town outskirts where she arrives some minutes later. Saba observes the boat of her father, she sighs thinking about her talk with her father. Saba loves to Balto a lot in the same way that he loves her. Both usually are communicative between themselves. The communication had decreased since she was adopted by her girl, but usually they saw to each other with certain frequency. In that moment, Saba has an idea that it was a better alternative instead to talk with his father directly. Saba enters in the town and goes towards the opposed side of the town where is located her mother's house. Saba gets to Jenna's home some minutes later. She heads toward the backdoor and calls to her mother. After a couple of minutes a head appear through the dog's door. “Saba!” Jenna says very excited looking at her daughter. “Hi mom” Saba says looking at Jenna. She introduces her head inside again. Saba slides through the dog's door, she enters in the kitchen. Jenna and Saba go ahead toward Jenna's room where they enter; Jenna lies down on her bed while Saba sits in front of her. “What is the reason to visit your old mother?” Jenna asks looking at Saba. “Mom, you are a young and a beautiful female dog.” Saba says laughing. Jenna laughs too. “Well... my friends and I want to do a sleepover.” Saba says looking at Jenna. She look at her attentively, a smile is sketched in Jenna's face. “Saba, you know very well that Rosy's parents would get upset, if you have a sleepover here.” Jenna says looking at her daughter. Saba laughs. “Come on mom, you know that I would never think something like.” Saba says pretending to be offended by Jenna's comment. She chuckles. “We want to do it in the house of dad” Saba says looking at her mother. She is taken completely by surprise. “Taska and the rest of my friends think that someone will not bother us, if we are there.” Saba says looking at her mother. She looks at her with a little bit of surprise. “I see, you want me to be who talks with your father because he never denies me something.” Jenna says smiling smoothly while she observes to Saba. She nods. “Will your friends obtain permission?” Jenna asks looking at Saba. “They said that they would get it.” Saba responds while Jenna gets up. “I’m going to see your father at this moment; do you want wait me here?” Jenna asks looking at Saba, she nods. Jenna goes toward the kitchen and gets out by the doggy door. “A sleepover” Jenna says laughing smoothly thinking that her daughter had grown much and how everything changed since Saba was adopted. Jenna walks on the streets of Nome towards the opposite side of the town. Some minutes later, she gets out of the town and heads toward the abandoned boat. Jenna loved it without important that it is old; in there live her loved mate. Into that place she and Balto demonstrated their unconditional love that both felt for the other one. Jenna stops next to the boat and calls to Balto, some minutes after; Balto's head takes a look above the boat's border and sees Jenna. “Jenn.” Balto says smiling and seeing to his mate. She looks at him very happy; Jenna gets on the deck, using the thick board that touches the ground. She and Balto nuzzles themselves affectionately some moments. “It has been a long time since I visited to you here.” Jenna says observing the surroundings of the deck of Balto's boat. Both sit together to see the ocean that moves under the warm breeze of the winds. “Do you come for something important?” Balto asks looking at Jenna. “Do visit you isn’t important?” Jenna asks looking at her mate that smile and again nuzzles her affectionately. “If I could to do it, I never allow to you go away from here.” Balto says looking at Jenna. She looks at him seductively. Jenna kisses him passionately, Balto slowly leans backwards while Jenna places herself above him without broken the kiss that lasts for some moments until Jenna breaks it. “I think that I am averting my attention from the main issue.” Jenna says while she moves to allow that Balto gets up. “What it is?” Balto asks sitting beside to Jenna. “Saba and her friends want to make a sleepover here.” Jenna responds looking at Balto He gets surprise by Jenna's answer. “Here?” Balto asks looking at Jenna. She nods while looks at Balto. “They want a place where nobody bothers them; they thought that this place would be the indicated to keep off to any other dog.” Jenna says looking at Balto. “There is no problem, but this boat this old and...” Balto says. He is interrupted by Jenna that kisses him smoothly. “Do not get worried Balto, they know that this is not a mansion or something like that, they certainly will appreciate the charm of your home.” Jenna says looking at Balto. He smiles hearing his mate. “Besides it will be a night in which we can be together.” Jenna says looking to Balto that was a little bit surprise. “Do you think that I would leave you here alone with five young females?” Jenna asks looking at Balto. He gets surprised and rubs his snout against Jenna's neck. “Come on Jenn, What I would do with five girls?” Balto asks looking at Jenna. “They are not pups any longer; Saba is an adult female just like her friends.” Jenna responds looking at Balto. “Yes, it is truth; she is so beautiful like you.” Balto says looking at Jenna. She smiles pleased for Balto's comment. Jenna kisses to Balto again before saying good-bye and descending of the boat. Jenna heads toward Nome while Balto was looking at her. After walking for several minutes, Jenna finally gets to her home, she heads toward the backyard. Jenna slides through the dog's door and enters in the kitchen. She heads toward the living room where Saba is waiting for her. “Dad accepted it?” Saba asks getting up rapidly and looking at Jenna. Jenna gets close to her with a smile. Saba gets very happy; she does small leaps of joy in front of Jenna. She lies down on the floor. “I suppose that you are going to say it to your friends in this moment.” Jenna says looking at Saba, she nods. “Say them that your father and I will take care of all of you in that night.” Jenna says looking at her daughter that looks at her with surprise. “Why?” Saba asks feeling somewhat offended by her mother's declaration. “In that way will be easier to them to get their parents’ permission, knowing that that their daughters would be safe” Jenna responds looking at Saba. She smiles content knowing that Jenna trust in her and the rest of the girls. “Besides I would not leave alone to your father with five young females, anything can be happen.” Jenna says laughing and looking at her daughter. She opens her mouth with surprise by her mother's words. “Come on mom, dad would not think in something like that.” Saba exclaims looking at her mother. She smiles by her daughter's incredulity. “Not Saba, your father is a male, is normal that he thinks about girls all the time, I had catch him taking notice of several female dogs of the town when they pass near us.” Jenna says looking at her daughter. Saba gets surprise by Jenna words “Doesn't you get mad with dad?” Saba asks looking at Jenna. She denies it with the head. “Sometimes, but your father has not tried to cheat me with other female dog, the fact that he sees other female dogs is somewhat instinctive” Jenna responds looking at her daughter. “You don’t have to go with your friends?” Jenna asks looking at her daughter. Saba rapidly says good-bye to her mother and gets out of the living room letting alone to Jenna. She falls asleep thinking about she just spoke with her daughter.
