OVERVIEW:
According to ancient mythology, in the early days of creation the Gods made humans and beasts. They used to live alongside their creations in what was presumed to be a conflictless utopia. Sometimes, the Gods fell in love with their human creations and as a result, veeblies, the offspring of humans and Gods, demigods in their own right, came into existence. Eventually, conflict began to erupt as humans were consumed by corruption, and as the utopia and trust between them and their Gods crumbled, the Gods returned to the heavens, abandoning both humans and veeblies.


Originally, veeblies were considered the God’s goodbye gift to the world and were treasured as sacred beings left behind to help rebuild the connection between creator and creation. But over time, humans became more and more selfish and began to use veeblies and their mythical abilities for their own personal whims and desires. Some of which ranged from but were not limited to used and sold off for breeding and as , to being treated as pampered pets or considered a delicacy in the culinary industry because their meat is unlike anything tasted before and some believe parts of their bodies have magical properties due to their demigod bloodline. While older generations of veeblies possess more intense magical abilities, the further the lineage gets from the Gods, the less they have.


 


ALIGNMENT:
WILD:
Veeblies that have limited their interactions with humans live in the elevated landscapes of treetops, mountains and plateaus, safe from ground predators. They have their own way of dressing that varies depending on environment and are considered to have more magical abilities as a result more intune with their powers as Demigods. They only mate with each other to keep as far away from human influence as possible (incest is not uncommon). They live in well-hidden areas in small colonies. Sometimes humans will capture any stray ones that have wandered too far from home (either while foraging, etc.) to sell in a black market. Sadly, often if one of their own gets captured by a human, they do not rescue them for their and others safety of not revealing their home.


CAPTURED/TAMED:
These veeblies were taken directly from the wild and have no separation from their colony origins. Often they are ornery, aggressive, and/or skittish with a desire to find a way to escape and return home. Once a veeblie has given up on returning to the wild or accepts their place among humans, they are considered tamed. It is illegal to take veeblies from the wild, so they are always held in secret captivity.
* Trafficking: Unfortunately, often veeblies that are caught from the wild are funneled into illegal trafficking. Whether it be to have parts of their bodies collected for its various magical properties, or used to satisfy the sexual desires of humans, or bred and sold off for other heinous reasons. Veeblies used for sexual slavery are also capable of producing offspring from being bred with humans, though these offspring are often raised to fulfill the same or similar purpose as their parents, and each consequtive generation has less magical ability.
    
DOMESTICATED:
Domesticated veeblies are ones that have been born and raised in captivity. They are often imprinted on humans so cannot truly return to the wild.
* Servants: Veeblies who are kept to perform housework and take care of the needs of humans. Think of a maid or a caretaker or service dog. They are often incredibly loyal to the human they are given to.
* Pets/Companions: Veeblies are sometimes kept as pets and/or companions. The distinction depends on how much autonomy their human gives them, veeblies are inherently intelligent, sentient beings but depending on their upbringing may be better suited for one role or another.
* Breeding: Veeblies who are allowed to breed with another of their own species they are bonded to and produce offspring to be given away as pets/companions/servants. These veeblies often possess little magical abilities.


FERAL/ABANDONED:
Veeblies that were tamed or domesticated that can not return to the wild but are no longer in the possession of a human. Often they roam the streets and form small groups working together to survive. They are often considered a nuisance/pest. Some are picked up by adoption agencies who try to rehabilitate and rehome them.




GENERAL INFORMATION:
* Veeblies have intelligence that is comparable to that of a 12 year old human at maturity.
* It can take them roughly thirty years to reach mental maturity.
* They are around three and a half to four feet at maturity in their human form.
* All veeblies have a piece of jewelry (usually a collar) that manifests shortly after birth to signify their status as demigods. These cannot be removed. 
* They can shift between their angel and feral form, but ones with less magic usually struggle to do so, and are stuck in their angel form.
* Wild veeblies can live hundreds of years, sometimes thousands depending on generation. Captive veeblies tend to have a far shortened lifespan.
* They have their own silent body language for communication, as well as a written and verbal language expressed through song, chitters, and calls/whistles. Captive veeblies can learn to speak human language.


RELATIONSHIPS AND MATING HABITS:
* Veeblies mate for life, so are incredibly picky in the partners they choose, but can have multiple partners. They are intensely devoted to all of them.
* Despite when they reach emotional maturity, they can become fertile and produce offspring as soon as within ten years if they are stimulated enough.
* Lay eggs in clutches of 2-6, and eggs from the same clutch can have multiple partners
* Offspring are born in their true/feral forms but grow into a human form within a couple years of age, but if raised in captivity, may lose the ability to easily shift between forms. Ones that cannot fully return to their feral form may instead maintain a form resembling that of a sphinx.
* Similar to birds, the young often imprint on whoever cares for them, and if they are raised in an environment with humans, they often become submissive to them due to their natures.
* They tend to be intensely loyal by nature.
* A veeblie being taken away from those they are loyal to/imprinted on can be traumatic. Ones that are used in sexual slavery often do not ever gain the ability to properly attach to anyone which can lead to behavioral problems.* (elaborate later)
* Any gender can be pregnant and lay eggs but only some can fertilize/inseminate (ones with more functional clits/dicks if you want to put it that way, their magical properties allow their genitalia to sometimes be repurposed).


MAGICAL PROPERTIES:
* Being the half offspring of Gods, and thus being demigods themselves, veeblies often contain some amount of magical abilities. Often this manifests in being able to shift between their feral and angel form. However, they can also sometimes possess abilities such as healing abnormally fast from injuries, camouflaging their appearance, controlling the weather in their immediate surroundings, etc.
* Veeblies in the wild rely on the shared magic among their group to keep their territory hidden
* The more veeblies are bred in captivity and produce offspring with humans, the less magical abilities each consecutive generation has.






TRAITS/ANATOMY AND RARITY:
* Veeblies with multiple ears, wings, etc. are considered to be more purebred and closer to their God ancestors
