Ralph watched them dazedly awaken and swim away, looking a bit disheartened.\n\n“Everyone's so riled up near the dungeon areas… It's really tough, haha.” He turned and gave Mars a little pat. “I haven't fought this hard… Well, ever! Haha! Are you holding up okay?”\n\n“Y-yeah…” Mars nodded. His fur was slightly wet, and he felt disgusting. “Let's just hurry and find Ampharos.”\n\nThey continued on. Mars had four legs now, but he could still barely keep up with the energetic Riolu cub, who quickly flipped from concerned to awestruck at all the wonders of the river area. A clear blue sky, slightly shrouded by tall trees… The calm stream running near them, an offshoot of the Poliwrath River itself… The damp and cool ground squishing beneath their feet…\n\nMars sighed. This was the worst. At least they weren't skipping school again…\n\n“Boy, I really hope we find Mr. Ampharos.” Ralph said, his eyes taking on that familiar shine. “If this is his Connection Orb, that means… That means he's definitely an Expedition Member! This was supposed to lead them to the main stream, but Mars found himself doubting Ralph's… intuition didn't seem like the right word, as someone with intuition would definitely know better than to-\n\n“Oh!” Ralph cried. “Look, I think we're here…?”\n\nThey came out into a small clearing with a large pond, behind which the sound of rushing water emanated from. The trees seemed to tower all around them, looking a lot more menacing than the other forest near town… Mars swallowed nervously as he scanned the area. There didn't seem to be any way forward.\n\n“Huh, it looks like Ampharos isn't here.” Ralph crossed his arms. “I guess we'll have to go deeper and catch up to him.”\n\n“A-are you sure? It doesn't look like there's anywhere else to go…”\n\n“Hmm…” He looked frustrated, the same exasperated look he had when Pancham and Shelmet teased him. “Well, let's try heading back. Maybe we passed him! Uh, just let me wash off in this pond first…”\n\nMars sat back as Ralph approached the pond, getting ready to jump in when suddenly a large crash came from the water.
