*This is where the Sonic Adventure/Rush story mode come into play. Both sides WILL be different. Trying to combine the two result in a confrontation so big it'll jumble the upcoming chapters. If any questions arise about any mistakes, or issues with the characters involved, please read the Preface on Chapter 1.* Chapter 7 - The World He Never Knew As both of them gathered enough strength to continue, Frostcat suddenly heard his clever opponent speak. ~For a killer you're quite good.~ The hero said. The feline gave a grin and replied "~Compared to you dim-witted friends, you're not so bad yourself.~" As started to walk slowly towards his opponent, he knew what we will soon be in for. //If I'm going to save the other dolls, I'll have to get through all of them.// Frost then followed up by concentrating his power around him as he puts away his sweeper back into his pocket and said "~But I believe that's time to get a little more serious...~" He slowly grabs the handle of his elemental sword and drew it out if it's sheath. "~...would you agree?~" the mobian asked. As he continued forward, the long eared bunny looked surprised as if something struck his mind deep. Suddenly he glanced up and twitched back. Frostcat looked puzzled at the random movements his rival gave him until the wind warrior yelled ~WATCH OUT!!!~ The blue flame feline couldn't believe what was to come next. With the flick of his wrist, the blue hat bunny thing shook his ring as a flickering beam of green light extended out of it. The instant he saw the look on his opponent's face, the dream that he had before he left Station Square was rapidly replaying in his mind. //That sword...Could it be...No...It can't...// ~"WHIRLDWIND CUTTER"~ The yelling broke Frost out of focus. He was being blown back from the piercing winds and he just realized the oversized shadow underneath him. Something was going to land. Something huge. Luckily the attack blew Frost away from the oncoming slam, but the impact was so great that the edge of the cliff broke off taking both of them down with whatever platform they have left. Freezing his feet to the falling foundation frost can only see an oversized spiked ball covered in dirt from the crumbling rocks. Dumbfounded he spoke "A spike ball? My life will end by a spike ball!?" He looked over the platform to see just how long he has left before he plummets to his doom. He simply reached out for his sweeper once again and said "Not today." With a flick of the switch, everything turned blue around him and everything stood completely still. The time shifting feline looked over again to see that he was in safe jumping distance to the water. Having the few still seconds left, he jumped off the once vast falling rock and landed on the water as it freezes solid. He skated towards the shore of the land near the waterfall and shot a few extra bombs under the platform as a going away present before the frozen effects disappears. When it did it made a thunderous splash followed by a engulfed explosion causing the water to shoot upward again. "Well, that takes care of that. But that sword...Is he really...What?" the ice warrior spoke to himself until he suddenly noticed bubbles popping from the very place the bombs set off. The spiked ball rose up from the water as rooted sprouts came from underneath frailing about. No longer covered in dirt the entire faint yellow spiked with green moss ball began to split perfectly in half. Inside he can see the source of the monster as a inner pink plant as if it were it's own fly trap. Seeing that he may have to fight underwater, he decided to put his goggles properly over his eyes. "~So you want to play huh? Than let's play!~" Poised and ready to battle the well shelled plant and voice can from nowhere. ~Goodie! I love to play games.~ Freaking out frost shouted "~AH! What the, who's there?!~" The voice answered ~I am the doll that you fight to save~ Trying to keep is composure, Frost then asked "~So how are you still alive?~" ~I can live inside inanimate objects. I knew that your weapons will be used frequently, so I resided inside your goggles~ Suddenly the plant began to charge Frost. As he dove out of the way he followed by saying "~Sweet! This proves you're still alive. I can clear my name!~" It slowly responded ~Sadly, you're the only one that can hear me.~ The plant monster let out a shriek as the icy feline can see something different in his goggles. It's as if the soul has altered the goggles somehow. "~What did you do, and why is the inside of that thing glowing?~" The spirit answered ~That is where the doll is trapped. You can't see it at it's normal state.~ "~I see. So weaken it and I might be able to take save it.~" Sticking with the plan he tried the usual bombs but with no such luck they were too wide to get through and without any leverage, he couldn't get high enough to reach it high above without getting trapped inside. He would have to think hard in order to defeta this beast. Then he had the idea that all depends on skill. He turned the warped arrow on his sweeper and adjusted the right side of his lens to have a crosshair appear. The plant began another charge as the patient cat took aim. Timing the opening and closing of the shell he shot a quick fire missile as hit it's mark in the pink center before it got the chance to run him down. It quickly back up and gave an odd growl. "~Geez! He tough to beat.~" The plant then wrapped it's roots over itself as a solid spike ball starts to grow it's same big size. The plant then rolled the ball to the warrior but as Frost quickly dodged the ball came rolling back. The mobian then tried to stake toward the plant so the ball can hit it instead but as soon as he turned away as the last second the ball instantly followed. It was then that he realized that it was a spike ball rolling at him. //Wait! if it was reversed...// the cunning ice warrior then turned the switch and pressed it in causing the area to become purple. Suddenly the ball started to roll backwards, giving the advantage he needs to hold on to one of the spikes, lifting him up on top of it. The moment he got closest to the plant, he jumped directly over the plant and shot another cluster missile inside. The moment the effect was gone, the plant scurried away as it began to turn red. ~That's it! The doll should be inside the center.~ the spirit explained. "~Inside?! But how am I...That's it!~" The clever cat had one choice left but before he could act the ball that he jumped off of grew bigger and is still following him around. "~hehe, perfect.~" Frost had then pressed one of the two buttons on the clock's side of his sweeper and decided to use the same strategy. Everything went purple again as the ball rolled backward. He used the spike to get on top of the ball but instead of shooting it he shouted "Geronimo!" and dived right into the core center of the plant. Little did he notice that whatever he dove into it was disolving his jacket and very soon, himself. Luckily his goggles were protecting his eyes, otherwise he would have never seen the vaugely purple mouse like doll inside. The dissolving warrior didn't have much time left. He quickly stored the doll into his sweeper and used whatever strength left to put the sweeper out of the pink center and fired the doll outside of it's shell before his hand was sucked back in. As the doll was falling the towards the shallow water it was safely caught by the same cat that was dissolved inside. As the purple stitched mouse opened it's eyes the ice warrior said "~Don't worry, you're safe now.~" He then took aim and made a bulls eye target with another missile to deliver the ending blow to the plant. As it gave it's final growl the entire monster and spike ball began to writher and crumble into the water. //Whew...and that's one.// Frost thought to himself with a sigh of relief looking at the doll in his hand with a warm smile on his face. He lifted his goggles to clearly see the doll in perfect condition. ~T...Thank you for rescuing me.~ Frost kindly replied "~Think nothing of it. I only did what I have to.~" ~Yes, but...how did you know?~ Frost looked in shock for a second for he was afraid to answer without being persecuted again. The spirit of the slain doll suddenly spoke ~It's because of me. He freed you so you can bring me back to life.~ The mouse looked to the rescuer to see the shame that he's brought upon himself as he slowly nodded. ~Such a burden...but I think I know where the other two are being held.~ The words the once captive doll spoke alert the shamed warrior and quick responded "~Really? Where are they?~" ~The clown...He took us to a ruined city...a city of robots. I can only remember that and being fed to that creature.~ the mouse answered. ~How did you escape anyway, it was like I'm seeing two of you~ the spirit asked. "~Well, it's called ~"Record."~ I can do one thing for a certain amount of time, then time goes back and I can do something else while the first me does that first action.~" the time warrior explained. ~Like a decoy. Clever!~ the spirit spoke as Frost gave a cheesy grin. "~Oh, that's right! How can I continue with you with me, you might become a main target little one.~" Frostcat then mentioned as he holds up the purple patched mouse doll. ~No problem~ the doll replied as it started to glow and slowly transforming into a yellow star with a red string ribbon attached to it. ~There, now the doll can be safe.~ the spirit said. " ~Now I get it!~" He pressed the other button for special storage and placed the transformed star doll inside the sweeper. "~Coolness...but, the robot city. There's only one place where that can be...~" as he placed the goggles over his eyes to make sure "~...and it's through that dark forest up ahead. The mobian continued to skate along the path inside the forest, but he can't stop think about the fight he had with his new long eared rival. //The shock, the wind, and now the sword. It all makes sense. But maybe later. Right now I've saved one doll. Just two more to...// The mobian warrior can only slow to a crawl as to the upcoming path around the bend. "Whoa...what are these things?" Frostcat looked further down the pathway seeing random blocks with X's on them, floating green orbs and blue rings that spin around horizontally flat along with multi-colored platforms. The surprised feline can only quote from a classic movie to his spiritual companion. "~Spirit...I don't think I'm in Mobius anymore.~"
