August 8, 2010 Chette was still barely conscious. Unable to move, but conscious. Shaking, she vividly recounted everything that happened. I didn't realize anything could scare such a strong-willed girl. "Y-you glowed red," she recounted, "and your entire body began to change. Your claws became longer...your fur darker...I caught a glimpse of your eyes and they had turned red. I had never felt so much evil coming off of you, or anyone..." She trailed off and looked at me. I looked at myself. There I was, my regular orange-furred self. I looked down into a puddle on the ground (it was raining), and saw my blue eyes. There wasn't a single sign of my malvolent transformation. "Go on," I said. "What happened next?" "You tore after him, and you attempted to slice Shen's head off with those ugly claws. He stopped you just short of his neck with those terrible glowing fists of his. I could barely hear him laugh and say, 'Good! Now you feel like one of us! Care to join me? We'll rid the world of these pathetic-' and then I heard a snap. You had broken his arms. He howled in pain and jumped back. I lost track of you then, and suddenly you had reappeared behind him. "And then I heard the most horrible sound of your claws digging into his flesh, and then..." She closed her eyes, and her voice became louder and slightly more panicked. "I saw his head rolling on the ground! I think I passed out after that, because I don't remember anything further!" I tried to hug her to console her, but she pushed away from me. "Kap, no!...I mean, Kap, I...I don't know. Give me time. I suppose when I heard about you, I didn't expect...this. I just didn't." She walked away quickly into the rain, and I sat there, heavy-hearted and confused. Why did this power continue to show up, and what was it? I had to continue my search. Shen said I had become one of them...I had to find out what he meant.
