Anansi is the goddess of deceit. The thing is that well-made lies look tempting or even angelic, and I don't want a boring "i'm an evil black widow!!" spideress in such a key role anyway, so I made her a pale white spider. As the original Anansi is an African figure, I briefly looked around for African spiders for reference, but didn't find one that really struck home for me.

Her fuzzy butt was chosen to match a world of furries better with the side effect that she resembles a tarantula - don't worry she is safe to snuggle unlike many American tarantulas - and her hair is meant to be silk / cobweb-colored.
